Regular Season Week 9
We are
heading into week 9 and the Rams are still undefeated. I am 3-5 in my league, I
hate losing. In non football news, the Boston Red Sox won the World Series so
baseball is over for the year. I went 12-2 on my picks, best of the
season for me, and The Giants have their bye this week so they can’t lose!!!!!!
Let’s
recap week eight.
Dolphins
@ Texans 23-42
Eric
figured out that if you watch the game through Amazon Prime TV you can pick
different commentators, therefore we now listen to the European commentators
instead of Joe Buck and it’s much more delightful and entertaining. If you have
an aversion to Joe Buck like I do, give Amazon Prime TV a try! As for this
game, Deshaun Watson had 5 touchdown passes, a career high. And the Dolphins
have lost four out of their last five games.
Eagles @ Jaguars 24-18
You may or may not know that I work at a winery. We have the
Sunday Ticket and show Sunday football. I start work at 9:30 on Sunday morning,
so it was nice to be setting up with the game on. For a minute I thought that
the Jags might even pull off a win to keep their record perfect in London, but
it wasn’t meant to be and the Jags lost the game.
Jets @
Bears 10-24
Mitch
Trubisky made a mockery out of the Jets defense, which is kind of ironic
because I was starting the Jets defense this week in fantasy, and the Bears
were short-handed this game, due to injuries.
Buccaneers
@ Bengals 34-37
After
Winston’s fourth interception he was benched and Fitzmagic came in to try to
save the day and the game. But, the damage had already been done and the
Bengals won with a field goal in the last seconds of the game.
Seahawks
@ Lions 28-14
I knew
I shouldn’t have picked the Lions to win this game. What was I thinking? At
least the Seahawks are back to above .500 on the season.
Broncos
@ Chiefs 23-30
Mahomes
threw for over 300 yards and had four touchdowns but none to Hill so that
sucks, also my opponent had Sammy Walkins on his team who had over 100 yards
and two touchdowns. Fantasy football has failed to meet my expectations this
season.
Redskins
@ NY Giants 20-13
I feel
like a broken record. The Giants don’t have an offensive line to protect Eli,
so of course they are losing games. Eli got sacked 7 times this game bringing
the season total to 31 which is a league high and not a stat you want. He also
had two interceptions. These are very dark times for the Giants and their fans.
I miss the good ol’ days where we actually had an O line that protected Eli.
Browns
@ Steelers 18-33
After
this game the Browns fired their head coach and offensive coordinator. I guess
the Browns are more dysfunctional than the Giants. That was the Giants last
year. The Steelers aren’t really missing Le’veon Bell anymore; James Conner is
having a Bell like season as their number one running back and scored twice
during this game.
Ravens
@ Panthers 21-36
This
was one of two picks I got wrong this past week. I am shocked that the Panthers
won, and happy since Ray Lewis didn’t have a lot to talk about on Inside the
NFL. Don’t get me wrong, he still talked a lot but it wasn’t about a Ravens
win.
Colts @
Raiders 42-28
I’d
like the Giants to play the Raiders, that way they might actually win another
game this season. The Colts trampled the Raiders, just like every other team
the Raiders have played this year. Andrew Luck looks like he’s back to his old
ways, throwing touchdowns left and right.
Packers
@ Rams 27-29
The
Packers had a chance to win this game until Montgomery fumbled the ball trying
to return a kickoff at the end of the game. He was supposed to take a knee and
not take it out. He was traded after the game. Gurley fantasy fans were also
not happy with the end of the game because he had a chance to score a touchdown
as time expired after the turnover and sat down on the one yard line. No
touchdown for Gurley but the Rams still won the game.
49ers @
Cardinals 15-18
These
teams were equally matched and the Cardinals edged the 49ers for their second
win of the season, and Larry Fitzgerald spiked the ball in the end zone after scoring a touchdown for the first time in his career.
Saints
@ Vikings 30-20
There
would be no miracle for the Vikings this time as they played the Saints. The
Saints dominated the game even though Drew Brees had his first interception of
the season. It helped that the Vikings didn’t score at all in the third quarter
of the game.
Patriots @ Bills 25-6
The first three quarters of this game were a battle of the
kickers, and a surprisingly close game. It wasn’t until the fourth quarter that
the Pats took over winning handley.
WEEK 9
Thursday,
November 1st
Raiders
[1-6] @ 49ers [1-7] (8:20pm FOX/NFLN/Amazon Prime Video/Twitch)
This
will be another very evenly matched game, and one team should get their second
win of the season, if the game doesn’t end in a tie. I’m going to pick the
49ers to win this game. Remember, if you too despise Joe Buck watch this game
on Amazon Prime TV and select another audio option!
Sunday,
November 4th
Chiefs
[7-1] @ Browns [2-5-1] (1pm CBS)
I’m
going out on a limb and picking the Chiefs to win this game. [Insert sarcasm
here] Browns head coach Hue Jackson and offensive coordinator Todd Haley have
been let go and now interim head coach Gregg Williams has a pretty uphill
battle ahead of him as he faces the Chiefs.
Bears
[4-3] @ Bills [2-6] (1pm FOX)
I think
the Bears win this game, sorry Bills fans.
Jets
[3-5] @ Dolphins [4-4] (1pm CBS)
I’m
starting the Jets defense so I need this to be a low scoring game. I think the
Jets could win if their quarterback doesn’t throw it to the Dolphins. That
being said I’m picking the Dolphins to win.
Lions
[3-4] @ Vikings [4-3-1] (1pm FOX)
I’m
picking the Vikings to bounce back and win this game.
Falcons
[3-4] @ Redskins [5-2] (1pm FOX)
I’d
like to see the Falcons upset the Redskins but I don’t think that’s likely. I’m
picking the Redskins to win this game.
Buccaneers
[3-4] @ Panthers [5-2] (1pm FOX)
Fitzpatrick
should start this game for the Bucs, but I’m still picking the Panthers to win
this game.
Steelers
[4-2-1] @ Ravens [4-4] (1pm CBS)
As much
as I’d like to see the Ravens beat the Steelers I’m going to pick the Steelers
to win this game. No good reason, other than I have a feeling.
Texans
[5-3] @ Broncos [3-5] (4:05pm CBS)
The Texans have looked really good the past
few weeks and the Broncos, not so much. I’m going to pick the Texans to beat
the Broncos at home.
Chargers
[5-2] @ Seahawks [4-3] (4:05pm CBS)
The
Seahawks have only played two games at home this season, I’m going to pick them
to win at home this week. The Chargers may struggle a little bit in colder
weather, as it’s not supposed to be nice in Seattle Sunday.
Rams
[8-0] @ Saints [6-1] (4:25pm FOX)
The
Saints might just be the team to snap the Rams perfect season. With that being
said i’m still going to pick the Rams to win this game.
Packers
[3-3-1] @ Patriots [6-2] (8:20pm NBC)
I’d like to see the Packers beat the Pats but I just don’t
think it’s very likely. Maybe if they were playing in Green Bay it would be
more likely, but they are playing in Foxboro. I’m picking the Pats to win this
game.
Monday,
November 5th
Titans [3-4] @ Cowboys [3-4] (8:15pm ESPN)
Man, I’d like to see the Titans win this game, and I’ll be
rooting for them too, but I’m picking the Cowboys because I’m a realist.
BYES:
Bengals, Colts, Giants, Eagles, Cardinals, Jaguars
GO
GMEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks
for the edit Eric!
