Regular Season Week 12

Happy Thanksgiving!!!! This is one of my most favorite days of the year. Family, food, and FOOTBALL!!!! Week 12 just so happens to be all divisional games, which makes it extra fun.  There are sure to be some good upsets. Speaking of upsets, I lost again last week, by 4 points, after a 36-point comeback, and am 4-7 in my league. (I feel like I just copy and paste this sentence week to week and change the loss number) I went 6-7 on my picks, the worst yet, but the Giants won so everything seems to be ok.

Let’s recap week eleven.

Packers @ Seahawks 24-27
This was a really fun game to watch. The Packers put up a fight but it wasn’t enough to win this game, just like the rest of their season.

Cowboys @ Falcons 22-19
Not much happened during the first half of this game. It was a field goal at the end of the game to give the Cowboys a win. A lot of games this week were decided by a field goal at the end of regulation, the Cowboys aren’t special.

Panthers @ Lions 19-20
The Panthers could have won this game with a little over a minute left in the game but Cam failed to complete a 2-point conversion giving the Lions a win. I mean, they could have gone for the field goal and went into overtime…

Titans @ Colts 10-38
I’ve noticed that if I play a particular defense it’s a sure pass for the other team to score a ton of points. I started the Titans defense… because of the Titans defense I lost this week in fantasy. -6 points. You shouldn’t be able to get negative points in fantasy. Damnit!

Buccaneers @ NY Giants 35-38
YAAAAAAAAY GMEN!!!!!! OBJ has been correct twice. They now have two consecutive wins. Speaking of OBJ, he was on point, catching ridiculous balls and making touchdowns. Saquon Barkley also had a phenomenal day with three touchdowns. Eli was near perfect and the defense really stepped up creating four turnovers.  It’s nice to see the Giants play like a professional team and not a dysfunctional high school JV scrimmage.

Texans @ Redskins 23-21
The Redskins lost this game as well as their QB. Alex Smith suffered a broken leg eerily familiar to Joe Theismen; same broken bones, same date, same final score. Weird right? The Redskins could have won with a field goal at the end of regulation but the ball fell short. The Texans, on the other hand, have won seven straight.

Steelers  @ Jaguars 20-16
The Steelers didn’t win this game, the Jags lost it. They had dominated the whole game until the last minute and Big Ben being, well, Big Ben stretched it in for a game winning rushing touchdown.

Bengals @ Ravens 21-24
With Joe Flacco out, Lamar Jackson started his first NFL game and ran for 117 yards; apparently no one told him he was the quarterback. It all worked out and the Ravens won the game.

Raiders @ Cardinals 23-21
I can’t believe the Raiders actually won. I really don’t have much to say about this.  It came down to a field goal at the end of regulation.

Broncos @ Chargers 23-22
The Broncos spoiled the Chargers win streak. This game, like so many others this weekend, ended with a field goal as time expired, giving the Broncos a win.

Eagles @ Saints 7-48
This game! Hah! The Eagles are the Super Bowl champions, but they don’t seem to be playing like that anymore. It’s safe to say that the Saints marched all over the Eagles.

Vikings @ Bears 20-25
Kahlil Mack and the rest of the Bears defense dominated the game, snuffing the Vikings fun. They had a number of sacks, a fumble recovery and a pick six. Da Bears are up and coming. The bad news is that their quarterback, Mitch Trubisky, was injured during the game and unlikely to play on Thanksgiving.

Chiefs @ Rams 51-54
This was a shoot out for sure, with three defensive touchdowns.  The score was the highest combined point total in football history. Ridiculous, but fun to watch.  The Rams came out on top because their defense stepped up and intercepted Mahomes in the final minute of the game to seal the deal.

I didn’t win in fantasy, I really didn’t do well on my picks, but at least the Giants won.

WEEK 12

Thursday, November 22nd

Bears [7-3] @ Lions [4-6] (12:30pm CBS)
The Lions always play on thanksgiving, it’s a tradition. It is also a tradition for them to lose. Trubisky is doubtful as starting QB for the Bears but I still think that they will win.

Redskins [6-4] @ Cowboys [5-5] (4:30pm FOX)
The Redskins are injury ridden and without Alex Smith. They have Colt McCoy starting as QB. As much as I want this game to end in a tie I’m picking the Cowboys to win.
Falcons [4-6] @ Saints [9-1] (8:20pm NBC)
I’m picking the Saints for the win; it’s pretty much a no brainer.

Sunday, November 25th

Jaguars [3-7] @ Bills [3-7] (1pm CBS)
I have no idea what Bills team is going to show up week to week.  I don’t think that the Bills will win two in a row; I’m picking the Jags to win.

Browns [3-6-1] @ Bengals [5-5] (1pm CBS)
I’m picking the Bengals to win. A.J. Green might actually be back.

Patriots [7-3] @ Jets [3-7] (1pm CBS)
The Jets seem to be the Pats kryptonite but I’m still going to pick the Pats to win.

NY Giants [3-7] @ Eagles [4-6] (1pm FOX)
Again, I think that the Giants can win this game; they’ve won two in a row. I’ll be rooting for them but I’m not going to pick them to win. Go GMEN!!!!!!

49ers [2-8] @ Buccaneers [3-7] (1pm FOX)
I’m picking Fitzmagic and the Bucs to beat the 49ers.

Seahawks  [5-5] @ Panthers [6-4] (1pm FOX)
I don’t think the Panthers are going to come back from that loss last week. I’m going to pick the Seahawks to win.
Raiders [2-8] @ Ravens [5-5] (1pm CBS)
I’m picking the Ravens to win this game. I’m pretty sure the Raiders can’t win two in a row.

Cardinals [2-8] @ Chargers [7-3] (4:05pm FOX)
The Chargers won’t lose two in a row; I’m picking them to beat the Cardinals.

Steelers [7-2-1] @ Broncos [4-6] (4:25pm CBS)
I’d like to see the Broncos win, but I think that the Steelers take this game.

Dolphins [5-5] @ Colts [5-5] (4:25pm CBS)
I’m picking the Colts to win at home. I have no good reason for this pick.
Packers [4-5-1] @ Vikings [5-4-1]  (8:20pm NBC)
I’m picking the Vikings to win, they’ve been struggling recently but I think they are going to bounce back.

Monday, November 26th

Titans [5-5] @ Texans [7-3] (8:15pm ESPN)
I’m picking the Texans to win; I no longer have high hopes for the Titans.

BYES: Rams, Chiefs

GO GMEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for the edit Eric!
