The Shenoa Report
November 15, 2018
Regular Season Week
11
They say, on any given day any given football team can win. This
past weekend was one of those days. Notable and very unexpected outcomes
include but are not limited to; the Pats losing miserably to the Titans, the
Bills throttling the Jets, and the Browns killing the Falcons. On that note the
NY Football Giants also won!!!!!!!! Finally, in other news, Le’veon Bell did
not report to the Steelers and forfeited his chance to play this season. Were
you one of those “lucky” ones to draft Bell? For your sake, I hope not. We
are now heading into week 11 and even though the Jets defense was ranked number
two last week, they blew it and in doing so I lost again in fantasy, terribly,
and am 4-6 in my league. I went 9-5 on my picks, and The Giants didn’t
lose!!!!!!
Let’s recap week ten.
Panthers @ Steelers 21-52
Of course my opponent started Big Ben and of course he had 5
flippin touchdowns. Ahhhhhhh. In a way, my fantasy week matchup was over after
the first game. I don’t think the Panthers knew they were playing on Thursday
night. It was a terrible game in my opinion.
Lions @ Bears 22-34
I’m glad I started Trubisky; he threw for 355 yards and had three
touchdowns. Unfortunately after Thursday night I needed five touchdowns from
him to keep up. It didn’t help that I had benched Robinson, knowing he
was coming off a groin injury, as he had over 100 yards receiving and two
touchdowns. Instead, I started Jones Jr of the Lions who only had one touchdown
and left the game early with an injury… damn.
Saints @ Bengals 51-14
Drew Brees moved into second place passing Brett Favre on the
career list after his three touchdown game. The Saints ripped through the
Bengals like it was no big deal. With their defense improving New Orleans is
becoming a very dangerous team.
Falcons @ Browns 16-28
Baker Mayfield threw three touchdown passes, a career high, during
the win over the Falcons. I know, the win surprised me too. Julio Jones found
the end zone again for the Falcons but it wasn’t enough to beat the Browns, who
got their third win this season.
Patriots @ Titans 10-34
I should have played the Titans defense. Who knew? The Titans
stunned the Patriots, and the rest of the nation, this past Sunday when they
dominated New England at home. Brady was without a touchdown and completed only
half of his passes. It was amazing to watch, especially with a Patriots fan at
the end of the bar.
Jaguars @ Colts 26-29
Andrew Luck threw three touchdowns in the first half and that was
enough to win the game. Even though the Colts didn’t score anything in the
second half they held off the Jags who tried to come back in the 4th quarter.
Cardinals @ Chiefs 14-26
Mahomes only had two touchdown passes in this win over the
Cardinals. Thankfully they were both to Tyreek Hill, who is on my fantasy team.
The Chiefs simply outplayed the Cardinals, which was expected.
Bills @ Jets 41-10
The Jets number two ranked defense this week played like the 32nd.
Did you know you can get negative points in my fantasy league? Thanks to the
Jets defense I got -6… This game put the nail in the coffin in my loss. Matt
Barkley (who?) the fourth string QB that was signed just days before the game
sparked the Bills offense and gave them the win that no one saw coming. I mean
the Bills win was almost as surprising as the Titans.
Redskins @ Buccaneers 16-3
The Bucs only punted once and put up over 500 yards yet the
Redskins were the ones who won the game. Doesn’t make sense does it? It helped
that the Redskins had four takeaways, three of which were scoring opportunities
and Alex Smith didn’t throw any interceptions, just one touchdown at the end of
the game.
Chargers @ Raiders 20-6
In this weird week 10 where there were so many upsets at least the
Raiders stayed true to their losing streak. The Chargers won this game easily,
just like everyone expected.
Dolphins @ Packers 12-31
The Packers finally got back into the swing of things knocking off
the Dolphins quite easily. Aaron Jones ran for a career high of 145 yards and
two touchdowns to help the Packers seal the deal.
Seahawks @ Rams 31-36
This was a good, close game to watch. The Seahawks put up a fight
but in the end it was the Rams to pull out the win.
Cowboys @ Eagles 27-20
This is another game I was shocked at the
outcome. The Cowboys and Eagles have a tied record after the Cowboys victory on
Sunday night. Ezekiel Elliott had over 150 yards rushing and scored the winning
touchdown of the game. The Eagles continue their Super Bowl hangover.
NY Giants @ 49ers 27-23
The Giants win! The Giants win!!!! I still can’t
believe it. It was amazing. Eli was protected in the pocket, OBJ had some
really great catches, and Engram didn’t drop the ball too much. OBJ has said
that they are going to win the rest of their games to have a record of 8-7 by
the end of the season. Well, they are that much closer with this win. I’m proud
of them. Eli had three touchdown passes and no interceptions. OBJ has two
touchdowns and Sterling Shepard had the go ahead touchdown to win the game.
I wore my football socks, football leggings, Eli Manning jersey and NY Giants
earrings to help the team. I didn’t know if it would be the last time Eli would
start a game and I wanted to make sure I paid tribute to him. I think after
this win he’ll start again which makes me happy.
I didn’t win in fantasy, I didn’t do well on my
picks, but at least the Giants won.
WEEK 11
Thursday, November 15th
Packers [4-4-1] @ Seahawks [4-5] (8:20pm FOX/NFLN/Amazon Prime
Video/Twitch)
This seems to be a pretty evenly matched game. The Packers have
yet to win on the road, but the Seahawks have only won once at home. I’m going
to pick the Seahawks to win, but I’m not entirely sure about this pick.
Remember, if you too despise Joe Buck watch this game on Amazon Prime TV and
select another audio option!
Sunday, November 18th
Cowboys [4-5] @ Falcons [4-5] (1pm FOX)
The Cowboys should be able to win this game, especially after
coming off a big win against the Eagles. On the other hand the Falcons are
trying to bounce back after a humiliating loss to the Browns. Does their
downward spiral continue? I’m going to pick the Falcons to win.
Panthers [6-3] @ Lions [3-6] (1pm FOX)
Both teams lost last week so I am going to pick the Panthers to
win this game.
Titans [5-4] @ Colts [4-5] (1pm CBS)
I’m going to pick the Titans to win this game unless last week was
a complete fluke.
Buccaneers [3-6] @ NY Giants [2-7] (1pm FOX)
OBJ thinks that the Giants will win out. I think that the Giants
can win this game but I said that I wouldn’t pick them to win until they’ve won
at least two in a row. Therefore I’m picking the Bucs to win in hopes of a
Giants win. JPP will be trying to get to Eli Manning this time in his reunion
with the Giants. I liked it better when JPP was on our defense.
Texans [6-3] @ Redskins [6-3] (1pm CBS)
The Texans are coming off of their bye week. They should be
refreshed and ready to go. My head says the Redskins will win and my heart is
going with the Texans. I’m picking the Redskins to win but I’m not happy about
it.
Steelers [6-2-1] @ Jaguars [3-6] (1pm CBS)
Last year the Jags beat up on the Steelers, I don’t think this
will be the case this time around. I’m picking the Steelers to win this game
even though they will not have Bell for the rest of the season.
Bengals [5-4] @ Ravens [4-5] (1pm CBS)
I’m picking the Ravens to win this game. But, I wouldn’t be
surprised if the Bengals upset them. Any given Sunday…
Raiders [1-8] @ Cardinals [2-7] (4:05pm CBS)
I’m picking the Cardinals to get their third win of the season.
Broncos [3-6] @ Chargers [7-2] (4:05pm CBS)
I’m picking the Chargers to win, they are actually pretty good
this season, and flying a little bit under the radar.
Eagles [4-5] @ Saints [8-1] (4:25pm FOX)
I’m picking the Saints to win this game. This should be a fun game
to watch.
Vikings [5-3-1] @ Bears [6-3] (8:20pm NBC)
The Vikings are coming off their bye but the Bears are playing
some good football right now. The Bears just might beat the Vikings. I think
I’m going to have to pick the Bears to win.
Monday, November 19th
Chiefs [9-1] @ Rams [9-1] (8:15pm ESPN)
This game was supposed to be played in Mexico
City but because of field conditions it has been moved to LA and will be a real
home game for the Rams. I am picking the Rams to win, but only because they are
at home.
BYES: Bills, Browns, Dolphins, Patriots, Jets, 49ers
GO GMEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for the edit Eric!
