The Shenoa Report
December 23, 2017
Regular Season Week 16
Happy Festivus , merry almost
Christmas, and Happy Holidays to all. We are nearing the end of the regular
season with just 2 weeks left. It makes me a little sad that the season is
almost over but also a little relieved being a Giants fan. You may have noticed
that there was no Thursday Night Football therefore I didn’t feel the need to
post #theshenoareport until now. There are games today (Saturday), Sunday, and
two games on Monday (Christmas)! I have made it to the Championship game in one
of my fantasy leagues and am hoping for a Christmas Miracle win.
I went 12-4 on my
picks, won in one league and lost in the other fantasy league. My records are
10-5 and 5-10.
Let’s recap week fifteen
Broncos @ Colts 25-13
Just
when you think that you’ve figured out the Broncos for being a terrible,
terrible team they go and win at Lucas Oil, another anomaly.
Bears @ Lions 10-20
As predicted, the
Lions held off da Bears.
Chargers @ Chiefs
13-30
The Chiefs are
beginning to be like the Lions in that if I pick them to win they lose and if I
pick them to lose they win. Either way I’m just happy that Hill scored a
touchdown.
Packers @ Panthers 24-31
I like
Cam in December, he’s actually playing like the MVP he was a couple of years
ago. Now if he can continue the streak for one more week that would do me a
solid. On a separate note, Aaron Rodgers’ return was quite eventful, just not
the way the Packers would have hoped. He threw three interceptions and one pass
to Jordy Nelson. I thought they were BFFs… I guess not.
Dolphins @ Bills 16-24
I’d
like to think that it was the cold that helped out the Bills, or Jay Cutler
actually playing like himself again.
Eagles @ NY Giants 34-29
I blame
this loss on my father. The Giants had 3 consecutive touchdown drives before my
parents got to our house and as soon as my dad sat down to watch the game Eli
threw an interception… It was down hill after that. At least it was a close
loss? I’m at a loss for words. I’m glad this season is almost over.
Ravens @ Browns 27-10
The
Ravens beat the Browns, I know you are shocked by this.
Bengals @ Vikings 7-34
The
Vikings annihilated the Bengals. I’m just glad I didn’t start the Ginger in
fantasy. He had -7 points in my league this week.
Jets @ Saints 19-31
I thought
the Saints were supposed to have a good defense. The score against the Jets
proves otherwise. I’m just glad Ingram had 2 touchdowns, that really helped me
in fantasy, the Saints defense, not so much.
Cardinals @ Redskins 15-20
Apparently this wasn’t a pretty game to watch, unless you like a
lot of turnovers, then this was your game. The Redskins somehow pulled off the
win.
Texans @ Jaguars 7-45
The Jags are like the bully of the NFL because they just like to
beat up their opponents.
Rams @ Seahawks 42-7
I knew the Rams would win, and boy did they. I thought for sure I
was going to lose in my fantasy league and be knocked out of the playoffs
because my opponent had Todd Gurley, who had FOUR touchdowns. There was sulking
again for me.
Patriots @ Steelers 27-24
The big
thing about this game is the question of what is a catch? At the end of the
game the Steelers had a touchdown called back because upon review “New York”
said it wasn’t a catch. If you listen carefully, you can still hear Steeler
fans around the world flipping out and crying over this loss to the Patriots.
But, I bet they won’t mention that after the touchdown was called back they
blew a couple of chances to get it back into the end zone before Big Ben threw
an interception to end the game. (Had he just handed it off to Bell in the
first place none of this would even be a conversation and I would have gotten
more points out of Bell in my fantasy league. Just saying.)
Titans @ 49ers 23-25
Holy
49ers! It looks like San Francisco has found their QB of the future.
Cowboys @ Raiders 20-17
I
couldn’t say up for this game but I hear it was a good one. One of the refs had
to pull out an index card to measure a fourth down conversion to continue
Dallas’ drive late in the game. Crazy. Dallas’ playoffs hopes are still alive,
at least for one more week.
Falcons @ Buccaneers 24-21
Much
like last week, my fantasy playoff hopes came down to an unlikely match up in
the Monday night football. This week I had a 4 point lead heading into the game
with Tampa Bay’s WR Evens, my opponent had Atlanta’s WR’s Jones and Sanu. I was
projected to lose. Mike Evens has underperformed for WEEKS and Jones and Sanu
were averaging 2 touchdowns per game. It didn’t look good at all.
WEEK 16
Saturday, December
23rd
Colts (3-11) @ Ravens (8-6) [4:30pm NFL]
I’m picking the
Ravens, with hopes of a lot of field goals.
Vikings (11-3) @
Packers (7-7) [8:30pm NBC]
I’m picking the
Vikings. Aaron Rodgers was placed on IR last week the day after he threw 3
interceptions in his very short return to the field.
Sunday, December 24th
Bills (8-6) @ Patriots (11-3) [1pm CBS]
I’m
picking the Pats
Buccaneers (4-10) @ Panthers (10-4) [1pm FOX]
I’m
picking the Panthers
Browns (0-14) @ Bears (4-10) [1pm CBS]
I’m
picking DA BEARS
Lions (8-6) @ Bengals (5-9) [1pm FOX]
With
the Lions still technically “alive” in the hunt for the playoffs I’m going to
have to pick them for the win.
Rams (10-4) @ Titans (8-6) [1pm FOX]
I’m
picking the Rams for the win and am sitting the Titans defense.
Dolphins (6-8) @ Chiefs (8-6) [1pm CBS]
The
Dolphins have to win this game to keep their playoff hopes alive. That said I’m
still picking the Chiefs for the win.
Falcons (9-5) @ Saints (10-4) [1pm FOX]
I’m
picking the Saints, even though they lost to the Falcons earlier in the season
I hope they have learned from their mistakes.
Chargers (7-7) @ Jets (5-9) [1pm CBS]
I’m picking the Chargers
for the win.
Broncos (5-9) @ Redskins (6-8) [1pm CBS]
I’m picking the Redskins for the win and hoping their defense puts
up some points.
Jaguars (10-4) @ 49ers (4-10) [4:05pm CBS]
I’m picking the Jags for the win and am hoping they pick off
Garoppolo often.
Seahawks (8-6) @ Cowboys (8-6) [4:25pm FOX]
I’m picking the Cowboys for the win. Zeek is back and will
probably run all over the Seahawks.
NY Giants (2-12) @ Cardinals (6-8) [4:25pm FOX]
As much as I want to see the Giants win
I’m going to pick the Cards in this game, though Christmas Miracles do happen.
Obviously there are no playoff implications for either team; they are just
playing for pride.
Monday, December 25th
Steelers (11-3) @ Texans (4-10) [4:30pm NBC]
I’m picking the Steelers for the win.
Raiders (6-8) @ Eagles (12-2) [8:30pm ESPN]
I’m
picking the Eagles for the win.
GO GMEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for the edit Eric!!!!!
