Regular Season Week 15

It’s my birthday week and I am celebrating a lot of things. I returned to work this Monday and I am celebrating that I am off disability.  I got a win in one of my fantasy leagues and have made it to the championship semifinal. I hope to be celebrating again on Monday night with another win. Hopefully I can celebrate a Giants win in my new Michael Strahan jersey thanks to the amazing man by my side. I wish I could have celebrated a Giants win last week too but it was nice to see Eli back on the field.
I went 6-10 on my picks OUCH, won in one league and lost in the other fantasy league. My records are 9-5 and 5-9.

Before I recap week fourteen let’s remember that any given day any given team can win, or lose. Week fourteen was one of those weeks in which the team you thought would win lost and the team you thought couldn’t win, did… Except for the Giants…

Saints @ Falcons 17-20
So, I picked the Saints to win this game, and they very well could have won if they hadn’t lost RB Kamara in the first quarter do to a concussion. This was a big blow for the Saints and any fantasy football guy who had Kamara in their starting line up… like my opponent. But, this did help me doubly, especially because I started the Saints other RB Ingram.  In the end it was the Saints defense that couldn’t stop the Falcons winning the game.

Colts @ Bills 7-13 OT
This was a heck of a game to watch!!! Can we say SNOW BOWL!  The entire game looked like it was taking place in a snow globe and all the players were playing in slow motion. Over a foot of snow fell during this game, it was amazing to watch. Fans love watching these games, but I don’t think players like playing these games, particularly when they go into overtime, like this game did. The Bills won it with a McCoy touchdown in OT.

Cowboys @ NY Giants 30-10
I held back tears when the stadium erupted in a cheers and a standing ovation when Eli took the field. It was good to see him back under center and for three and a half quarters it looked like the Giants might actually pull off a win. They didn’t, and I changed the channel to the Bills game when it all started to fall apart in the fourth.

Vikings @ Panthers 24-31
The Panthers surprised me. I really thought the Vikings were going to tie the game and bring it to overtime. Instead, Jonathan Stewart was the beast of the game and the Panthers actually won.

Raiders @ Chiefs 15-26
I knew as soon as I stopped picking the Chiefs they would win a game. Oh well. Just another game I got wrong this week.

Bears @ Bengals 33-7
This may give you a laugh, but I started Andy Dalton over Cam Newton in fantasy thinking Cam was playing the unstoppable Vikings and Dalton was playing the terrible Bears at home! The Ginger did NOT have a good game and I thought my fantasy playoff run was over for sure. I pouted and sulked and swore a lot.  I should’ve started Cam… Oh well, just another pick I got wrong.

Packers @ Browns 27-21 OT
The Browns lead for most of the game but let the Packers come back and take the game in overtime. Sorry Brownies. This win seems to ensure an Aaron Rodgers return.

Lions @ Buccaneers 24-21
An injured throwing hand didn’t seem to affect Stafford as he threw for close to 400 yards in the win over the Bucs.

49ers @ Texans 26-16
The 49ers now have a better record than the Giants and that hurts my heart a little bit. Garoppolo seems to have saved San Francisco; I’m just wondering what happened to the Texans defense.

Jets @ Broncos 0-23
ARE YOU KIDDING ME? (Said in my Dick Vitale voice) I can’t believe the Jets laid an egg. Even the Giants beat the Broncos 23-10… I’m disappointed and got ANOTHER pick wrong.

Titans @ Cardinals 7-12
The Titans shouldn’t have lost this game! The Cardinals kicker was the only guy that scored points with 4 field goals. Crazy.

Redskins @ Chargers 13-30
Finally, a pick I got correct. The Chargers are doing quite well for starting the season 0-4.  Oh yeah, the Redskins have been mathematically eliminated form the playoffs this season.

Eagles @ Rams 43-35
I really thought the Rams were going to win this game, and they didn’t. Carson Wentz threw 4 touchdowns but won’t be throwing any more this season. He tore his ACL in this game and is done for the year.

Seahawks @ Jaguars 24-30
The Jags have been flying under the radar all season and you know what, their defense if for real. Yeah, they fooled me too. I got this pick wrong as well.

Ravens @ Steelers 38-39
This is the 5th, fifth, FIFTH game that the Steelers have come from behind and won with a field goal in the final seconds. Ridiculous!

Monday, December 11th

Patriots @ Dolphins 20-27
Coming into this game all of my fantasy football post-season hopes had been dashed. I had like a 7% chance of beating my opponent who had Tom Brady as his starting QB. “So, you’re telling me there’s a chance”…  In order for me to have any chance at a win, Tom Brady would have to have one of the worst games in his career. The guy who completes the majority of his passes and hardly ever throws interceptions would have to play like Jay Cutler. Let’s just say I didn’t have high hopes as the Pats were playing Jay Cutler’s Miami Dolphins… I almost didn’t even want to watch the game. The Patriots took the field after the Dolphins scored a field goal and then, Tom Terrific threw an incomplete pass and then an INTERCEPTION! A deep sounding “YEEAAAHHHHHH!!!!” escaped from my mouth and I decided I had to watch the rest of the game. The Dolphins won and Brady had one of the worst games of his career and I am headed to the next round of the play offs.  Another pick I got wrong, but somehow I stopped caring.

WEEK 15

Thursday, December 14th

Broncos (4-9) @ Colts (3-10) [8:25pm NBC]
The Broncos always have a hard time at Lucas Oil so I’m going to pick the Colts for the win.

Saturday, December 16th

Bears (4-9) @ Lions (7-6) [4:30pm NFL]
I’m picking the Lions, as they haven’t been eliminated from hopes of the playoffs.

Chargers (7-6) @ Chiefs (7-6) [8:25pm NFL]
I’m picking the Chargers for the win but I am hoping that Hill has a few touchdowns.

Sunday, December 17th

Packers (7-6) @ Panthers (9-4) [1pm FOX]
I’m picking the Panthers to win, but the Packers still have a chance to get into the playoffs and Aaron Rodgers is back so … this should be interesting.

Dolphins (6-7) @ Bills (7-6) [1pm CBS]
I’m picking the Bills to win, but only because they are home and the Dolphins should struggle in the cold.

Eagles (11-2) @ NY Giants (2-11)  [1pm FOX]
I will be sporting my Michael Strahan #92 jersey and cheering on the NY Giants but picking the Eagles to win this game.

Ravens (7-6) @ Browns (0-13) [1pm CBS]
I am picking the Ravens to win this game.

Bengals (5-8) @ Vikings (10-3) [1pm CBS]
I am going to have to go with the Vikings to bounce back and win.

Jets (5-8) @ Saints (9-4) [1pm CBS]
I am picking the Saints to win this game and hoping for another shut out. Sorry Jets; I’m playing the Saints defense.

Cardinals (6-7) @ Redskins (5-8) [1pm FOX]
I’m picking the Redskins to win.

Texans (4-9) @ Jaguars (9-4) [1pm CBS]
I’m picking the Jags to win at home.

Rams (9-4) @ Seahawks (8-5) [4:05pm FOX]
I think the Rams will win but the Seahawks need this win more and are playing at home so I guess I’ll pick the Seahawks, but I won’t be surprised if I am wrong.

Patriots (10-3) @ Steelers (11-2) [4:25pm CBS]
I’m picking the Pats to bounce back and beat the Steelers.

Titans (8-5) @ 49ers (3-10) [4:25pm CBS]
I’m picking the Titans to win.

Cowboys (7-6) @ Raiders (6-7) [8:30pm NBC]
I’ll be rooting for the Raiders but picking the Cowboys for the win, I hope I’m wrong.

Monday, December 18th

Falcons (8-5) @ Buccaneers (4-9) [8:30pm ESPN]
I’m picking the Falcons and rooting for the Bucs.

GO GMEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for the edit Eric!!!!!
