Regular Season Week 17

Well, we’ve come to the last week of the regular season. I feel like the football season always goes by too fast.
I’m writing to you today from my parent’s house in NY State. I’d like to say it’s to attend the Giants last game of the season but it’s not. My Gramma, who was an amazing wonderful woman passed away this week. I thought about just skipping my blog this week but I decided it would give me a little bit of normalcy to this otherwise emotional rollercoaster…
I will try to be my witty, silly, bias self but I apologize if I’m not.
I did much better with my picks last week at 12-4… I’m glad to have bounced back but still a little bitter about the Giants HUGE crumble … but I digress. Lets recap week 16...

Falcons @ Lions 31-18
No surprise here.

Titans @ Packers 7-55
It looks like the Packers just barely pulled out that win…

Vikings @ Texans 23-6
Wow I did NOT see that one coming.

Rams @ Buccaneers 28-13
yup

Raiders @ Panthers 6-17
I’m glad to see the Panthers finishing their season out strong… I just wish the Giants could have done the same. Great, now I’m comparing the Giants to the Panthers and wishing the Giants were more like the Panthers… depressing.

Redskins @ Eagles 27-20
It was nice being able to watch football with my father last Sunday but it wasn’t nice watching the Eagles lose to the Redskins.

Bills @ Dolphins 10-24
At least my father raised me right… aka not a Bills fan.

Bengals @ Steelers 13-10
Dad and I were happy with the outcome of this game.

Patriots @ Jaguars 23-16
Blah blah blah Pats…

Colts @ Chiefs 20-13
Sometimes I wish I were still a Colts fan.

Saints @ Cowboys 34-31 OT
Thankfully the Saints got it done.

Chargers @ Jets 27-17
Yeah I didn’t even bother to right about this game last week. Whoops. So glad I’m not a Jets fan either.

Browns @ Broncos 12-34
Love me some Peyton

Giants @ Ravens 14-33
Let me set the scene. If you are a long time reader you know that A#1) I LOVE the NY Giants; B#2) I have a great friend whom I spend a lot of weekends with who does NOT like football; And C#3) I make a weekly Sunday phone call to my father to talk football.  Well, this particular Sunday it seemed as if the stars had aligned. My parents were staying with me for Christmas and so was my best friend who hates football. We all went over to the Ginn’s house to watch this game and I was so excited to watch football with the ones I love. Scott even sat next to me and watched the game.
And then, the Giants played like SHIT!!!! (Sorry for the strong words but I feel like it was a pretty accurate statement)
We didn’t even watch the whole game. It was horrible. I don’t want to talk about it.

Bears @ Cardinals 28-13
As expected.

49ers @ Seahawks 13-42
After the Giants game we decided to go to Taco Mac to get some dinner and a beverage. We watched the first half of this game and all I can remember was that epic hit … and how I was a little happy that at least the 49ers played at the same caliber as the Giants.

WEEK 17

Sunday, December 30th

Buccaneers [6-9] @ Falcons [13-2] (1pm FOX)
I’m taking the Falcons.

Jets [6-9] @ Bills [5-10] (1pm CBS)
This game means nothing… neither team is going to the playoffs… I’ll pick the Bills.

Bears [9-6] @ Lions [4-11] (1pm FOX)
I’m picking the Lions to win just because the Bears need to lose in order for the Giants to make it to the playoffs…

Panthers [6-9] @ Saints [7-8] (1pm FOX)
Picking the Saints.

Eagles [4-11] @ NY Giants [8-7]   (1pm FOX)
I’m taking the Giants… I’m pretty much delusional at this point. GO GMEN!

Browns [5-10] @ Steelers [7-8]   (1pm CBS)
Taking the Steelers hoping for the Browns.

Texans [12-3] @ Colts [10-5]   (1pm CBS)
Colts.

Jaguars [2-13] @ Titans [5-10]  (1pm CBS)
Going with the Titans.

Ravens [10-5] @ Bengals [9-6] (1pm CBS)
Taking the Bengals.

Packers [11-4] @ Vikings [9-6] (1pm FOX)
Picking the Packers.

Dolphins [7-8] @ Patriots [11-4] (4:25pm CBS)
I’ll have to go with the Pats.

Raiders [4-11] @ Chargers [6-9] (4:25pm CBS)
Going with the Chargers.

Cardinals [5-10] @ 49ers [10-4-1] (4:25pm FOX)
49ers.

Rams [7-7-1]  @ Seahawks [10-5]   (4:25pm FOX)
Taking the Seahawks… just wonder how badly they’ll beat the Rams.

Chiefs [2-13] @ Broncos [12-3] (4:25pm CBS)
Broncos

Cowboys [8-7] @ Redskins [9-6] (8:20pm NBC)
Picking the Redskins…

There is no Monday night football this week. I hope you have a safe and happy New Year!

The Shenoa Report
December 22, 2012
Regular Season Week 16

Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas to you! I hope you get a little time off to spend with your family and those dear to you, I know that I am. My parents, sister, her boyfriend and my best good friend are all gathered together in my apartment for the holidays. The end is near, and I don’t mean the world I mean the regular season.
My friend called me the other day to tell me about a dream he had had. I just had to share it with you. Here’s the dream: my friend was on a road trip with Peyton Manning (first of all just that was pretty awesome) anyway, they stopped at an outlet store that sold those leather jackets with the fringe on the arms. So Peyton tries on a white jacket with fringe on the arms and my friend says to him “TAKE THAT OFF YOU LOOK LIKE A DALLAS COWBOY!!!”  Peyton quickly took it off and gave my friend a dirty look. He later had two wrapped up for Eli. Then my friend decided he should take a picture with Peyton so that he could show me that they were hanging out. He told Peyton about my Shenoa Report and I. He told Peyton that he should really be reading my report and Peyton wanted to meet me… but then my friend woke up and that is the end of his dream.  I can safely say that was the best dream that I’ve never had.
This was my worst week yet for picks at 7-9… ouch. We have just two weeks left. I’d really just like to think that week 15 never happened … but it did, so lets recap last week...

Bengals [8-6]  @ Eagles [4-0] 24-13
No surprise there.

Colts [9-5] @ Texans [12-2] 17-29
Little surprised.

Redskins [8-6] @ Browns [5-8] 38-21
The Browns disappointed me.

Vikings [8-6] @ Rams [6-7-1] 36-22
Wrong again!

Broncos [11-3]  @ Ravens [9-5] 34-17
I thought that the Ravens would have put up more of a fight. Oh well.  Go Peyton!

Buccaneers [6-8] @ Saints [6-8] 0-41
SHUT OUT.

Jaguars [2-12] @ Dolphins [6-8] 3-24
Ouch.

Giants [8-6] @ Atlanta [12-2]  0-34
…. My mom said that if I didn’t have anything nice to say then to not say anything at all……

Packers [10-4] @ Bears [8-6]  21-13
Not surprised.

Lions [4-10] @ Cardinals [5-9] 10-38
No one saw that one coming.

Seahawks [9-5] @ Bills [5-9] 50-17
Wow Seahawks.

Panthers [5-9] @ Chargers [5-9] 31-7
The Panthers surprised us all too.

Chiefs [2-12] @ Raiders [4-10] 0=15
Hey look at that, I picked one correctly, and it was the 3rd shutout of the day.

Steelers [7-7] @ Cowboys [8-6] 24-27
If it wasn’t painful enough rooting for the Steelers watching them lose to the Cowboys was definitely worse.

49ers [10-3-1]  @ Patriots [10-4] 41-34
Surprised, but happy about it.

Jets [6-8] @ Titans [5-9] 10-14
The Jets played themselves right out of the playoffs.

WEEK 16

Saturday, December 22nd

Falcons [12-2]  @ Lions [4-10] (8:30pm ESPN)
Notice this is not Thursday night football it’s Saturday night football, and I’m taking the Falcons.

Sunday, December 23rd

Titans [5-9] @ Packers [10-4] (1pm CBS)
Packers.

Vikings [8-6] @ Texans [12-2] (1pm FOX)
I’m taking the Texans.

Rams [6-7-1] @ Buccaneers [6-8] (1pm FOX)
I’d like to pick the Rams for the win.

Raiders [4-10]  @ Panthers [5-9]   (1pm CBS)
Picking the Panthers.

Redskins [8-6] @ Eagles [4-10]   (1pm FOX)
Will be rooting for the Eagles but picking the Redskins for the win although my heart goes with the Eagles… for the Giants sakes.

Bills [5-9] @ Dolphins [6-8]   (1pm CBS)
Taking the Dolphins.

Bengals [8-6] @ Steelers [7-7]   (1pm CBS)
I’d like to see the Bengals win but I think I’ll have to pick the Steelers instead.

Patriots [10-4] @ Jaguars [2-12]   (1pm CBS)
Going with the Pats.

Colts [9-5] @ Chiefs [2-12] (1pm CBS)
Taking the Colts.

Saints [6-5] @ Cowboys [8-6] (1pm FOX)
Taking the Saints… please win.

Browns [5-9] @ Broncos [11-3] (4:05pm CBS)
I’ll have to go with the Broncos.

Giants [8-6] @ Ravens [9-5] (4:25pm FOX)
Picking the Giants because I haven’t picked against them yet and I’m not going to start to now. GO GMEN… redeem yourselves!

Bears [8-6] @ Cardinals [5-9] (4:25pm FOX)
Going with the Bears.

49ers [10-3]  @ Seahawks [9-5]   (8:20pm NBC)
This will be an interesting game… I’m still going to take the 49ers but wouldn’t be surprised if the Seahawks won.

There is no Monday night football this week. I hope you have a safe and fun holiday!

Thanks for the edit Ben!

Regular Season Week 15

Happy Birthday to me!!!!! It’s my birthday week!!!! Can you tell I’m excited? My actual birthday is the 13th but I like to celebrate all month long.
Was it just me or did you think that Sunday’s games were a bit on the peculiar side? I did horrible on my picks for week 14 at 8-8… ouch. At this point I really don’t care how I do on my picks as long as the Giants win out this season. I think the later we go into the season the more my heart gets involved in my picks.
Interesting tidbit, week 14 was the first week since 1986 that all 4 teams in the NFC East won in the same weekend….
Lets recap week 14.

Broncos @ Raiders 26-13
I’m still hoping for a Manning Bowl … and it could happen as long as the Broncos continue to play like this.

Ravens @ Redskins 28-31 OT
I wanted the Ravens to win, I needed the Ravens to win, and so of course they lost, in overtime, to the Redskins, after RG3 was taken out of the game with a knee injury.
Thanks a lot Baltimore…. Ugh.

Cowboys @ Bengals 20-19
I wanted the Bengals to win, I needed the Bengals to win, and of course they gave it up too. Ugh. Heartbreak.

Rams @ Bills 15-12
Poor Bills fans…

Eagles @ Buccaneers 23-21
Pretty sure that the Eagles fans actually want the Eagles to lose now so they can get a decent draft pick… way to screw up again Philly.

Falcons @ Panthers 20-30
This was a fantastic game; it was even better to watch it with a one year old who yelled “FOOTBALL” with great excitement at least once every time they came back from commercial break.
Cam looked great; maybe the Panthers should play with that sort of intensity and vendetta throughout the season and not just one game… just a thought.

Chiefs @ Browns 7-30
So happy for the Browns and their fans.

Chargers @ Steelers 34-24
Big Ben was back in action but that didn’t help the Steelers. They lost to the Chargers… what?!?!?!

Titans @ Colts 23-27
The AFC South thought they’d get a break for the Colts this season… so much for a rebuilding year.

Jets @ Jaguars 17-10
Hey lookit, the Jets actually won a game.

Bears @ Vikings 14-21
Just when you think the Bears are back on track…

Dolphins @ 49ers 13-27
Poor Alex Smith… Kapernick is the real deal.

Cardinals @ Seahawks 0-58
Holy Seahawks Batman! Way to run up the score like the Patriots…. Somehow I’m ok with the Seahawks running up the score on the Cardinals… hmmmm

Saints @ NY Giants 27-52
This game was a big win, a huge win, and an even bigger win with every other team in the NFC East winning just hours before as well. We are still on top of the division with a one game lead. All we have to do is win out and we’ll be in the post season. It’s the first time in a long time we actually control our own destiny.
Anyway, back to the game recap.  The game started off really rough with an Eli interception. I was driving at the time so my dad was giving me the play by play over the phone.  I wasn’t happy at all BUT then David Wilson had a kickoff returned for a touchdown and I felt better. My dad continued to give me the play by play until I reached my destination at the Ginn’s house where I watched the rest of the game. Their Christmas tree was in the spot where the official Shenoa Football Chair usually sits but that was ok because I’m not one of those superstitious people who have to do everything a certain way to make sure the Giants win. (Sorry if I’ve offended anyone with that statement) I didn’t even wear my Eli Manning Jersey, I know I’m a rebel.
The Giants didn’t look their best but they pulled it together to beat a team that usually would have crushed Big Blue. I’m just thankful that the game didn’t come down to a Tynes field goal… Seriously, I think its time to get rid of Tynes…
Can’t say this enough but it was a BIG HUGE WIN! GO GMEN!!!!!

Lions @ Packers 20-27
My favorite part of this game was the snow. I just love watching football games that really involve the elements… snow being my favorite. The Lions made it a game but it was the turnovers that cost them in the end.

Texans @ Patriots 14-42
You know its funny when you’re out watching the game and you see a guy in the bar that is pretty gosh darn good looking… you get those dreamy eyes… and then the Patriots score a touchdown and said guy jumps up and starts cheering… suddenly said guy looks like Aaron Rodgers in November and you throw-up in your mouth a little bit. The Patriots are life ruiners…

WEEK 15

Thursday, December 13th (Happy Birthday to me!)

Bengals [7-6]  @ Eagles [4-9] (8:20pm NFLN)
Taking the Bengals.

Sunday, December 16th

Colts [9-4] @ Texans [11-2] (1pm CBS)
Picking the Colts, I’d like to see them win. All they need is a little Luck… pun intended.

Redskins [7-6] @ Browns [5-7] (1pm FOX)
I’m picking the Browns in an upset.

Vikings [7-6] @ Rams [6-6-1] (1pm FOX)
I’m going to take the Rams at home

Broncos [10-3]  @ Ravens [9-4]   (1pm CBS)
Picking the Broncos to win. The Ravens hurt me bad last week and I’m not quite over it.  Though I’d rather see them win this week rather than next week when they play the Giants.

Buccaneers [6-7] @ Saints [5-8]   (1pm FOX)
Picking the Saints to bounce back after last weeks embarrassment. Although the Bucs were pretty embarrassing to watch last week too.

Jaguars [2-11] @ Dolphins [5-8]   (1pm CBS)
Taking the Dolphins

Giants [8-5] @ Atlanta [11-2]   (1pm FOX)
I’m picking the Gmen! It’s the start of the last three “Angry Birds” games. You see the Giants last 3 games are the Falcons, the Ravens, and the Eagles… hopefully we’ll make all these birds very angry by beating them soundly.

Packers [9-4] @ Bears [8-5]   (1pm FOX)
I’ve gotta go with the Packers

Lions [4-9] @ Cardinals [4-9] (4:05pm FOX)
I’m taking the Lions.

Seahawks [8-5] @ Bills [5-8] (4:05pm FOX)
Sorry Bills fans I’m taking the Seahawks. Just hope they don’t embarrass you like they did the Cardinals last week.

Panthers [4-9] @ Chargers [5-8] (4:05pm FOX)
Against better judgment I’m picking the Chargers.

Chiefs [2-11] @ Raiders [3-10] (4:25pm CBS)
This game really is the battle of who could care less… I’m picking the Raiders for the win. But at this point this game could end in a tie and no one would care.

Steelers [7-6] @ Cowboys [7-6] (4:25pm CBS)
As much as it pains me to say it I’ll be rooting for the Steelers and picking them for the win.

49ers [9-3]  @ Patriots [10-3]   (8:20pm NBC)
Man I hope the 49ers beat the Patriots. But for picks sake I’ll have to pick the Pats for the win.

Monday December 17th

Jets [6-7] @ Titans [4-9]    (8:30pm ESPN)
Both teams are playing so poorly it’s hard to pick a winner. I’ll have to take the Jets for the win. Sorry Abby.

Thanks for the edit Mom

The Shenoa Report Regular Season Week 14 '12

The Shenoa Report
December 6, 2012
Regular Season Week 14

Week 13 wasn’t as lucky as I wanted it to be but sometimes that’s just how it goes. We’re going into the last quarter of the season, are your teams doing as well as you had hoped? I actually didn’t get to watch a lot of football this weekend so I’m not going to go into depth with my picks this past week. I went 10-6… room for improvement.
Lets recap week 13.

Saints @ Falcons 13-23
Falcons pulled it out, but what really helped was Drew Brees throwing 5 interceptions…

Jaguars @ Bills 18-34
Bills looked good… a little too late for this season though.

Seahawks @ Bears 23-17 OT
Wow Seattle way-to-go

Colts @ Lions 35-33
Andrew Luck is a beast… there I said it.

Vikings @ Packers 14-23
Thank the LORD Rodgers shaved his face… that’s really all I have to say about this game.

Texans @ Titans 24-10
The Texans have the hardest schedule in the whole NFL this year. Said no one ever.

Panthers @ Chiefs 21-27
I’d like to say something good about either of these two teams….  Is it a race for # 1 draft pick?

49ers @ Rams 13-16 OT
The 49ers couldn’t beat the Rams and the game almost ended in another tie…

Patriots @ Dolphins 23-16
Deven, your team won…. That’s the nicest thing I think I can say about that.

Cardinals @ NY Jets 6-7
Holy high scoring game… wait.

Buccaneers @ Broncos 23-31
I <3 Peyton Manning

Browns @ Raiders 20-17
Yeah Browns!

Bengals @ Chargers 20-13
The Chargers are as pathetic as… the Chargers.

Steelers @ Ravens 23-20
Stupid Steelers.

Eagles @ Cowboys 33-38
The one time I actually want the Eagles to win and they STILL piss me off and let me down.

NY Giants @ Redskins 16-17
Disappointment.

WEEK 14

Thursday, December 6th

Broncos [9-3]  @ Raiders [3-9] (8:20pm NFLN)
Picking the Broncos for obvious reasons.

Sunday, December 9th

Ravens [9-3] @ Redskins [6-6] (1pm CBS)
I want the Ravens to win, I need the Ravens to win, and I’m picking the Ravens to win.

Cowboys [6-6] @ Bengals [7-5] (1pm FOX)
I want the Bengals to win, I need the Bengals to win, and I’m picking the Bengals to win.

Rams [5-6-1] @ Bills  [5-7] (1pm FOX)
In the preseason we all picked the Bills… I’m not sure if I should change my pick. Both teams have a tendency to fail … I’ll pick the Bills…

Eagles [3-9]  @ Buccaneers [6-6]   (1pm FOX)
Picking the Bucs

Falcons [11-1] @ Panthers [3-9]   (1pm FOX)
Picking the Falcons just on principle.

Chiefs [2-10] @ Browns [4-8]   (1pm CBS)
Going with the Browns

Chargers [4-8] @ Steelers [7-5]   (1pm CBS)
I’ll have to pick the Steelers to win even though I’m not happy about it.

Titans [4-8] @ Colts [8-4]   (1pm CBS)
Picking the Colts

Jets [5-7] @ Jaguars [2-10] (1pm CBS)
I’m taking the Jets.

Bears [8-4] @ Vikings [6-6] (1pm FOX)
Taking the Bears

Dolphins [5-7] @ 49ers [8-3] (4:05pm CBS)
I like the 49ers in this game

Cardinals [4-8] @ Seahawks [7-5] (4:25pm FOX)
I feel like the Cardinals have lost their last 8 games… I don’t see them winning again any time soon. I’m going with the Seahawks.

Saints [5-7] @ NY Giants [7-5] (4:25pm FOX)
Taking the Giants… come on guys! You can do it. GO GMEN!

Lions [4-8]  @ Packers [8-4]   (8:20pm NBC)
Taking Aaron Rodgers and his clean shaved face.

Monday December 3rd

Texans [11-1] @ Patriots [9-3]    (8:30pm ESPN)
Pretty sure that the Pats are going to hand the Texans their second loss of the season.

Thanks for the edit Mom

The Shenoa Report Regular Season Week 13 '12

The Shenoa Report
November 29, 2012
Regular Season Week 13

This report takes a lot longer to write when there are no byes. Holy football games batman! It doesn’t help that I’ve literally waited till the last minute to write this report. I’m back on the east coast again. I hope you all had a happy Thanksgiving. I didn’t do as well as hoped on my picks this week, 12-4.
Lets recap week 12.

Texans @ Lions 34-31 OT
It’s a tradition that the Lions play on Thanksgiving and it also seems to be a tradition that the Lions lose on thanksgiving and that was the case again this time around. At least it was a good game except for that one blown call… you know when they took that touchdown away from the Lions.  I’m not even going to go into Su’s idiotic kicking…

Redskins @ Cowboys 38-31
This was a great game to watch, even better to be able to watch it with my dad. To watch the Cowboys lose with my dad, priceless.

Patriots @ NY Jets 49-19
My family didn’t watch this game because we didn’t want the Patriots to ruin our Thanksgiving. … We played Apples to Apples instead and had a way better time than the Jets… and the Patriots

Titans @ Jaguars 19-24
I just knew that the Jags would win this game! Sorry Abby.

Bills @ Colts 13-24
Poor Bills fans.

Steelers @ Browns 14-20
So glad I was able to watch this game with Browns fans. Fantastic game, well for the Browns anyway, I stopped counting the Steelers turnovers.

Raiders @ Bengals 10-34
I really have nothing clever to say about either of these two teams.

Broncos @ Chiefs 17-9
Peyton was Peyton and the Chiefs were, well the Chiefs so this outcome was inevitable.

Seahawks @ Dolphins 21-24
This game was like that Buffalo Wild Wings commercial; the sprinklers came on in the middle of the game. Wonder if that grounds crew worker still has their job? The Dolphins took the win with a last second field goal, ok it was 2 seconds.

Falcons @ Buccaneers 24-23
The Bucs almost pulled off the win. Too bad almost only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades.

Vikings @ Bears 10-28
The Bears really are better with Jay Cutler leading the team. No that wasn’t met as a punch line.

Ravens @ Chargers 16-13 OT
Close win for the Ravens, too close for comfort if you ask me.

Rams @ Cardinals 31-17
“I’m picking the Cardinals against better judgment.” I think I was delusional last week when I wrote that statement.

49ers @ Saints 31-21
The 49ers were all over the Saints Sunday. And the new QB for San Francisco was pretty impressive to watch. Smith you better start looking for another team who needs a QB because I think that Kaepernick just took your job.

Packers @ NY Giants 10-38
I was so, so, so nervous going into this game. The Giants are notorious for losing all their November games and then I remembered last year when we had a super close heart breaking loss to the Packers. The odds were definitely stacked against Big Blue coming into this game, but the team was also a part of a “Make A Wish” dream come true. Adam Merchant, 15 year old boy with cancer, had a dream to meet the NY Football Giants. He ordered the team to “play like world champions” and they did. The Giants were supposed to raise Adam’s spirit and in return he raised the Giants’ spirit to the level they new they should be. This was such a touching story and if you haven’t watched it look it up.
Manning threw for 3 TD’s, no interceptions, and even ran the ball taking a few hits. He looked phenomenal. When Victor Cruz caught a touchdown pass they even played salsa music over the broadcast. The defense was stellar, sacking Rodgers 5 times and intercepting him once. If only they could have knocked off the hideous growth on his face. Seriously Aaron, all that talk a couple weeks ago about getting a discount double check from you, I take it back. That growth on your face needs to go, its revolting and nauseating. I’d rather look at Bill Belichick than you… and that’s saying something, but I digress.
GMEN it was a GREAT win. Keep up the good work.

Panthers @ Eagles 30-22
The Eagles did a really good job of making the Panthers look great. I said that statement to one of my co-workers after the game and she said “wow! The Eagles must really be terrible!” She doesn’t know much about football but she does know how horrible the Panthers are because her husband is a Panthers fan.
At one point in the broadcast commentator Jon Gruden said “That’s what happens when your not a good team” speaking of the Eagles. Ouch. It was an ugly game to watch and the Panthers actually hung on to win the game. Yay.

WEEK 13

Thursday November 29th

Saints [5-6]  @ Falcons [10-1] (8:20pm NFLN)
Taking the Falcons, but wouldn’t be surprised if I was wrong.

Sunday December 2nd

Jaguars [2-9] @ Bills [4-7] (1pm CBS)
Took the Bills in the preseason and I’m taking them again now.

Seahawks [6-5] @ Bears [8-3] (1pm FOX)
Going with DA BEARS

Colts [7-4] @ Lions  [4-7] (1pm CBS)
I’ll take the Lions this week.

Vikings [6-5]  @ Packers [7-4]   (1pm FOX)
I’m taking the Packers and hoping that Rodgers has SHAVED HIS FACE!

Texans [10-1] @ Titans [4-7]   (1pm CBS)
I’m going with the Texans

Panthers [3-8] @ Chiefs [1-10]   (1pm FOX)
Taking the Panthers though another Panthers loss wouldn’t surprise me. This game is pretty much the battle of who could care less.

49ers [8-2-1] @ Rams [4-6-1]   (1pm FOX)
I’ll have to take the 49ers

Patriots [8-3] @ Dolphins [5-6]   (1pm CBS)
I’d love to see the Dolphins win but it’s not likely, I’m going with the Pats.

Cardinals [4-7] @ NY Jets [4-7] (1pm FOX)
I’m taking the Jets at home.

Buccaneers [6-5] @ Broncos [8-3] (4:05pm FOX)
Taking the Broncos

Browns [3-8] @ Raiders [3-8] (4:25pm CBS)
I like the Browns in this game.

Bengals [6-5] @ Chargers [4-7] (4:25pm CBS)
Taking the Bengals

Steelers [6-5] @ Ravens [9-2] (4:25pm CBS)
Big Ben should be back for this game but I’m going to have to go with the Ravens.

Eagles [3-8]  @ Cowboys [5-6]   (8:20pm NBC)
I’d like this game to end in a tie. For divisional reasons and to help the Giants win I’d like the Eagles to win but I think that I’ll pick the Cowboys for the win.

Monday December 3rd

NY Giants [7-4] @ Redskins [5-6]    (8:30pm ESPN)
They swept us last year lets sweep them this year and win! I’m picking the Giants to win. GO GMEN!!!!!!

Thanks for the edit Mom

The Shenoa Report Regular Season Week 12 '12

The Shenoa Report
November 22, 2012
Regular Season Week 12

Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours! I am very thankful to be spending this thanksgiving with my family in Tacoma Washington. It will be a little weird to be watching football at 9:30 in the morning but at the same time I won’t have to stay up late to watch the “late game”
Week 11 was very enjoyable to watch being that the Giants had their bye week, I’m sure I was much more enjoyable to watch football with too. I was almost perfect on my picks this week at 13-1. Lets recap week 11.

Dolphins @ Bills 14-19
The Bills almost shot themselves in the foot but came out on top to beat the Dolphins. I got to watch some of this game at a local bar in Tacoma Washington with my family. My nephew seems to share my love for football. I’m a proud auntie.

Browns @ Cowboys 20-23 OT
I got to watch this game with my dad and it was a heartbreaking loss for the both of us as we are both HUGE Giants fans. A Browns win would have really helped us. Damnit.

Bengals @ Chiefs 28-6
The Chiefs are horrible. The end.

Jets @ Rams 27-13
This is the only game I picked incorrectly. I guess it helps when Mark Sanchez doesn’t turn the football over.

Jaguars @ Texans 37-43 OT
The Texans scored twice in overtime to beat the Jags… and they only won by the skin of their chinny chin chin.

Buccaneers @ Panthers 27-21 OT
I joked that the best part about watching football on the west coast was not having to watch the Panthers play on tv… and then I saw that the Panthers were not just winning but winning big. I thought for sure that they would finally be able to pull off a win. And then just like the Panthers always seem to do, they found a way to lose. Disappointing doesn’t even begin to explain this game. I mean they were up 21-10 with less than 5 minutes left in the game. Sad.

Cardinals @ Falcons 19-23
The Falcons are slipping. They almost lost to the Cardinals.

Packers @ Lions 24-20
I got to watch some of this game with my dad and we both thought that the Lions might actually be able to pull off an upset. But then we remembered that we were watching the Lions…

Eagles @ Redskins 6-31
I mean its always fun watching the Eagles lose, though I wish this game could have ended in a tie.

Saints @ Raiders 38-17
This really wasn’t a surprise to anyone was it?

Colts @ Patriots 24-59
So, so glad the west coast wasn’t subjected to this massacre.  I hate the Patriots.

Chargers @ Broncos 23-30
Peyton tied and then broke Dan Marino’s TD record during this game and now he’s gunning for Brett Favre’s. I can’t wait till that day…

Ravens @ Steelers 13-10
Who else was humming the tune “I’m bringing home a baby bumble bee, won’t my mommy be so proud of me” while watching this game? The Ravens beat the bumble bees, I mean the Steelers. It was glorious.

Bears @ 49ers 7-32
It didn’t even matter that Alex Smith wasn’t playing this game because the Bears simply forgot to show up.

WEEK 12

Thursday November 22nd HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Texans [9-1]  @ Lions [4-6] (12:30pm CBS)
It’s a tradition that the Lions play on Thanksgiving and it also seems to be a tradition that the Lions lose on thanksgiving so I am picking the Texans to win this game although I’ll be rooting for the Lions.

Redskins [4-6] @ Cowboys [5-5] (4:25pm FOX)
I’ve got to pick the Redskins to win this game. It’s a must win for them. PS I hate the Cowboys.

Patriots [7-3] @ NY Jets [4-6] (8:20pm NBC)
My family isn’t even going to watch this game because we don’t want the Patriots to ruin our thanksgiving. … I’m picking the Patriots to win. boooooooooo

Sunday November 25th

Titans [4-6] @ Jaguars  [1-9] (1pm CBS)
Call me crazy but I’m picking the Jags to win this game.

Bills [4-6]  @ Colts [6-4]  (1pm CBS)
I think that the Colts are going to bounce back and win this game although, in the preseason my uncle, mom, and I all picked the Bills to win this game.

Steelers [6-4]  @ Browns [2-8]   (1pm CBS)
I would really, really, really like to see the Browns win this game. Maybe this will be my crazy pick of the week. I’m going to take the Browns to win this game against the very beaten up Steelers.

Raiders [3-7] @ Bengals [5-5]   (1pm CBS)
Taking the Bengals

Broncos [7-3] @ Chiefs [1-9]   (1pm CBS)
I’m going with the Broncos

Seahawks [6-4] @ Dolphins [4-6]   (1pm FOX)
Seahawks should be well rested coming off their bye. I’m picking Seattle to win this game.

Falcons [9-1] @ Buccaneers [6-4]   (1pm FOX)
I think it’s going to be a weekend for upsets so I’m picking the Bucs to upset the Falcons.

Vikings [6-4] @ Bears [7-3] (1pm FOX)
The Bears really need to halt this 2 game losing streak. But can they? I’m going to have to pick the Vikings with another upset.

Ravens [8-2] @ Chargers [4-6] (4:05pm CBS)
I’m taking the Ravens

Rams [3-6-1] @ Cardinals [4-6] (4:25pm FOX)
I’m picking the Cardinals against better judgment.

49ers [7-2-1] @ Saints [5-5] (4:25pm FOX)
Going with the 49ers.

Packers [7-3]  @ NY Giants [6-4]   (8:20pm NBC)
I’ve got to take the Giants, although in the preseason my uncle, mom, and I all picked the Packers to win this game. The Giants are well rested and over that funk. GO GMEN!!!!!

Monday November 26th

Panthers [2-8] @ Eagles [3-7]    (8:30pm ESPN)
Panthers, I’m picking you for the win. You can beat the Eagles.

There are no more bye weeks. Happy Football Watching!

Thanks for the edit Kristen and Gideon!!!!!!!!!!

GOOOOOOOOOOOOO GMEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Shenoa Report Regular Season WEek 11 '12

The Shenoa Report
November 15, 2012
Regular Season Week 11
What the (insert expletive) happened this weekend in football. I mean seriously. (Insert expletive). I spent the weekend in Charleston again with my best good friend Scott. This time I set my alarm so I wouldn’t sleep through the Giants game. I wish I had forgotten. I apologize in advance for the things I might say in this weeks report. I’m a little bitter right now. My picks this week were just about as good as the Giants performance, horrible. 6-8 This was also the weekend of concussed quarterbacks. Lets recap week 10.

Colts  @ Jaguars 27-10
I knew that the Jags were going to lose this game but I didn’t think that the refs would help them lose. They made some pretty horrible calls in my opinion. This was the first Colts game that I actually sat down and watched since last season, and I just got so angry and sad that this Colts team isn’t the same team I grew up loving and cheering for. I even had a little smirk on my face and may have actually applauded Luck’s interception.

Chargers @ Buccaneers 24-,34
I’d like to say the outcome of this game surprised me but it didn’t.

Titans @ Dolphins 37-3
Boy was I wrong on this pick. Tennessee actually showed up, at least my cousin had a good football weekend.

Bills @ Patriots 31-37
It was just another heart wrenching loss for the Bills. What’s new?

Raiders @ Ravens 20-55
This looks more like a college football final score. At least the Giants didn’t lose as bad as the Raiders.

Broncos @ Panthers 36-14
It’s the first time in a very long time that John Fox had a win at Panthers stadium. When you have Peyton Manning on your side you should expect to win.

Giants @ Bengals 13-31
As I said to my dad Sunday evening, I’ll say to you now, “I don’t want to talk about it. Don’t even mention it. “ Thankfully we can’t lose next week.

Lions @ Vikings 24-34
Just another pick I got wrong. I guess I forgot how much of a beast Adrian Peterson could be. Sorry Lions fans, maybe work on your defense?

Falcons @ Saints 27-31
I had a feeling that the Falcons would no longer be perfect after this weekend.

Jets @ Seahawks 7-28
It wasn’t a good weekend for NY teams all around the league, but I like Seattle so I’m ok with a Jets loss.

Cowboys @ Eagles 38-23
Well there was a tie this weekend but unfortunately it wasn’t this game. They say Tony Romo shines in the month of November. I guess that’s ok as long as he’s shitty the other 4 months of the season. I hate both of these teams so much it’s hard to write praises about them. The Cowboys did take Vick out of the game serving up a concussion after many brutalizing hits. Hopefully it’s too late for the Eagles to get back into the race for the playoffs and now I just hope the Cowboys will start losing again.

Rams @ 49ers 24-24 OT
The Rams almost had the win until they let the 49ers score a field goal in the final seconds of the game to bring it into overtime. Both teams couldn’t get it together in overtime so the game ended in a tie. This is the first tie in the NFL since 2008.

Texans @ Bears 13-6
I know the Texans have an amazing record but I think it took this game for me to realize that Houston is pretty legit. They were able to take Jay Cutler out of the game with a concussion and that killed the Bears chance for a win.

Chiefs @ Steelers 13-16 OT
The Chiefs took Big Ben out of the game but couldn’t come up with the win in overtime.

WEEK 11
I’m going to the West Coast for the first time in my life this week. I’m pretty stoked about this. I can’t wait to write about my football experience watching the games in the morning eating breakfast.

Thursday November 15th

Dolphins [4-5]  @ Bills [3-6] (8:20pm NFLN)
I’d like to pick the Bills for the win. We all picked them to win this game in the preseason.

Sunday November 18th

Browns [2-7] @ Cowboys  [3-5] (1pm CBS)
Dear Cleveland, I really, really, really, really need you to win this game. I’m picking the Cowboys to win just so you can be the rallying underdogs.

Bengals [4-5]  @ Chiefs [1-7]  (1pm CBS)
I’ve got to go with the Bengals.

Jets [3-5]  @ Rams [3-5]   (1pm CBS)
I’m picking the Rams

Jaguars [1-8] @ Texans [7-1]   (1pm CBS)
Taking the Texans.

Buccaneers [5-4] @ Panthers [2-7]   (1pm FOX)
I’d like to pick the Panthers, but it seems like the Bucs are getting hot.

Cardinals [4-5] @ Falcons [8-1]   (1pm FOX)
Picking the Falcons.

Packers [6-3] @ Lions [4-5]   (1pm FOX)
I’m taking Green Bay over Detroit.

Eagles [3-5] @ Redskins [3-6] (1pm FOX)
I’m picking the Redskins. I’m pretty sure the Eagles season is over.

Saints [4-5] @ Raiders [3-6] (4:05pm FOX)
I’m going with the Saints.

Colts [6-3] @ Patriots [6-3] (4:25pm CBS)
I’d love to see the Colts upset the Patriots at home, and I’m only picking the Pats to win because when I don’t they lose.

Chargers [4-5] @ Broncos [6-3] (4:25pm CBS)
Going with the Broncos.

Ravens [7-2]  @ Steelers [5-3]   (8:20pm NBC)
Taking the Ravens.

Monday November 19th

Bears [7-1] @ 49ers [6-2]    (8:30pm ESPN)
49ers.

BYE WEEK: GIANTS (thank God), VIKINGS, SEAHAWKS, TITANS

Thanks for the edit Mom!

The Shenoa Report Regular Season Week 10 '12

The Shenoa Report
November 8, 2012
Regular Season Week 10
We are now more than half way through the season. Tear. I’d like to say that this past weekend was a good football weekend but I’d be lying. The only thing that made it bearable was that the entire NFC East lost their games.
I’ll skip my “politics portion” because I’m sure we’ve all had enough of that.
Speaking of half way though the season, my dreams of a Manning Bowl are looking pretty good so far. I also did pretty awesome with my picks again this week at 11-3.
I didn’t have a whole lot of time to get this report out by Thursday night so I’ve decided to go with the “less is more” approach to my writing. Therefore, I’m going to try to keep each game recap and prediction to one sentence.
Lets recap week 9.

Chiefs @ Chargers 13-31
This isn’t a big surprise and not very note worthy.

Broncos @ Bengals 31-23
Peyton Manning is awesome. The end.

Ravens @ Browns 25-15
Poor Brownies.

Dolphins @ Colts 20-23
I don’t care what people say, Andrew Luck is NOT the new Peyton Manning. Even though he does have a better rookie record right now…

Lions @ Jaguars 31-14
Lions are looking better, but they played the Jags so it’s hard to tell.

Bills @ Texans 9-21
Why are the Bills so horrible?

Panthers @ Redskins 21-13
HOLY MOSES THE PANTHERS WON A GAME. More importantly the Redskins lost.

Cardinals @ Packers 17-31
Does this surprise anyone? PS Aaron Rodgers can discount double check me anytime. … Too much?

Bears @ Titans 51-20
The Bears annihilated the Titans. Just to state the obvious.

Buccaneers @ Raiders 42-32
Why do I always think that the Raiders are better than they are?

Vikings @ Seahawks 20-30
I picked the Seahawks to win this game. I love being right.

Steelers @ Giants 24-20
I really just don’t want to talk about it. Thankfully the rest of the NFC East also lost this week so we can count this game as a wash.

Cowboys @ Falcons 13-19
Falcons stay perfect as the Cowboys fall.

Eagles @ Saints 13-28
You could have titled this game “Watch Michael Vick get hit”  Hey Saints, thank you for marching in.

WEEK 9

Thursday November 8th

Colts [5-3]  @ Jaguars [1-7] (8:20pm NFLN)
I’m going with the Colts.

Sunday November 11th

Chargers [4-4] @ Buccaneers  [4-4] (1pm CBS)
I’m picking the Chargers to win but wouldn’t be surprised if it went the other way.

Titans [3-6]  @ Dolphins [4-4]  (1pm CBS)
Sorry Abby I’m going with the Dolphins. Is your mom still a Dolphins fan?

Bills [3-5]  @ Patriots [5-3]   (1pm CBS)
My uncle, mom, and I all picked the Patriots to win this game during the preseason and I’m sticking with my pick.

Raiders [3-5] @ Ravens [6-2]   (1pm CBS)
Gotta go with the Ravens.

Broncos [5-3] @ Panthers [2-6]   (1pm FOX)
Sorry Carolina, when Peyton is in the house I’ve gotta go with him. I’ve seen the Broncos play and I’ve seen Peyton play at Panthers Stadium and each time the Panthers have lost. I have a feeling the same thing is going to happen Sunday.

Giants [6-3] @ Bengals [3-5]   (1pm FOX)
My uncle, mom, and I all picked the Giants to win this game during the preseason. I’m keeping that pick.
Dear Giants, please redeem yourself and win. Love,  Shenoa. PS GO GMEN!!!!!!

Lions [4-4] @ Vikings [5-4]   (1pm FOX)
Crazy pick of the week. I’m taking the Lions over the Vikings.

Falcons [8-0] @ Saints [3-5] (1pm FOX)
Is it just me, or do the Falcons have the easiest schedule in the NFL? Picking the Falcons to win but wouldn’t be overly upset if they lost.

Jets [3-5] @ Seahawks [5-4] (4:05pm CBS)
I want to see Tebow play but I’m picking Seattle to win.

Cowboys [3-5] @ Eagles [3-5] (4:25pm FOX)
Really, I’d just like to see this game end in a tie. I don’t like either team at ALL. This is really tough. I’ll pick the Eagles to win. Ouch that hurt.

Rams [3-5] @ 49ers [6-2] (4:25pm FOX)
As much as I’d like to see the Rams win I’m picking the 49ers.

Texans [7-1]  @ Bears [7-1]   (8:20pm NBC)
I’m taking DA BEARS

Monday November 12th

Chiefs [1-7] @ Steelers [5-3]    (8:30pm ESPN)
I’d love to see the Chiefs win but I’m going to have to pick the Steelers to win.

BYE WEEK: CARDINALS, BROWNS, PACKERS, REDSKINS

Thanks for the edit Mom!

The Shenoa Report Regular Season Week 9 '12

The Shenoa Report
November 1, 2012
Regular Season Week 9

Hello November. Don’t forget to change your clocks back this weekend! I hope that all of you survived Sandy, we are all fine here in Charlotte NC! It is super cold (for us) I finally broke down and turned on the heat and brought all my porch plants inside.
It was another great weekend I must say. I am so blessed to have awesome people in my life! The Ginn’s have become another family to me (and I think I’m converting them into Giants fans!!!)  I also did pretty decent with my picks again this week at 10-4.
Lets recap week 8.

Buccaneers  @ Vikings 36-17
Boy was I wrong on this game! So much for home field advantage and the statistics that favor home teams on Thursday nights. The Bucs tore the Vikings apart.

Dolphins  @ Jets 30-9
The Jets couldn’t even get the win with the Dolphins using their backup QB because of a injured Ryan Tannehill. Metlife Stadium chanted for Tim Tebow but he only got one rushing play. There is talk that Tebow could be traded… I hope he is for his sake. I don’t want the Jets to let gangrene set in on him too.

Chargers @ Browns 6-7
The Browns win their second game of the season! This was a great defensive game. The Browns kept the Chargers out of the end zone the entire day letting them only score two field goals.

Colts @ Titans 19-13 OT
The Colts got it done, it took overtime to do it but they still got it done.

Patriots @ Rams 45-7
This game was played in London, and I can think of about 31 other teams in the NFL to represent the USA better than the Pats… oh well. The Rams had to sacrifice their home field advantage as both teams were obviously on the road.  No other team can rack up points unmercifully as the Pats. Poor Rams fans and sorry to England for such an awful game.

Jaguars @ Packers 15-24
It looks like the Packers are back in action but it wasn’t hard to do against the now 1-6 Jags who are arguably the worst team in the NFL right now.

Falcons @ Eagles 30-17
Dear Atlanta, Thanks for beating the Eagles soundly. Love, Shenoa

Redskins @ Steelers 12-27
I know the Redskins lost this game but the only thing that sticks in my mind is the Steelers hideous uniforms. All I can say is WOW. And OUCH.

Seahawks @ Lions 24-28
The Lions really squeaked in this win.

Panthers @ Bears 22-23
When asking Panthers fans about this particular game I just got blank stares, and “I don’t want to talk about it.” Just when you think the Panthers are going to pull off an upset they go and upset their fans instead.

Raiders @ Chiefs 26-16
This really was a no-brainer. The Chiefs are just about as horrible as the Jaguars.

Giants @ Cowboys 29-24
Wow, yeah, this game… ummm well, I know I’ve said that the Giants have won some pretty ugly games but I think that this one ranks up there as one of the ugliest. I mean the first quarter was pretty spectacular, laughable really. I joked with friends that Tony Romo was the Giants MVP. And then I don’t know what happened. I really don’t know. It was like the bottom fell out. We were ahead yet it felt like we were down by about 50 points. And then it got worse… we had allowed the Cowboys to score 24 unanswered points to take the lead. I’m pretty sure I almost had an aneurism during the last 2 minutes of the game. They say no one knows how an aneurism comes about… I’m pretty sure it has something to do with watching the Giants play a divisional game and almost lose.
I started knitting furiously, got really quiet, (you know its really bad when I don’t speak at all)  and just prayed that the Giants would escape with the win in Jerry world.  It didn’t help that the youngest Ginn kept saying “man if the Giants lose I don’t know… man if the Giants lose, if the Giants lose…” I’m not proud of this but I did respond to him by holding up my knitting needle and say “I swear to God I will stab you if you say that one more time” And in that moment the Ginns were introduced to “crazy football shenoa”
Thankfully the would be go ahead Dallas touchdown with 10 seconds left was called back because Dez Bryant’s hand landed out of bounds as he came down with the ball. And because Romo isn’t an (Eli)te quarter back he didn’t have the connections for a comeback win. Big props go to Big Blues Big D for picking off Romo 4 times. Other than that I’d like to forget about this game. My hand still hurts from all that knitting. True Story.

Saints @ Broncos 14-34
After the Giants game I actually said regarding this game “Oh no I don’t know if I can watch another Manning play right now.” But I’m glad I watched. Peyton is back in his stride throwing 3 touchdown passes with no interceptions.  The Broncos defense also had a great game holding the Saints to just two scores.

49ers @ Cardinals 24-3
Well, the time of the Cardinals is over (I say this with just a little smirky grin.)

WEEK 9

Thursday November 1st

Chiefs [1-6]  @ Chargers [3-4] (8:20pm NFLN)
I’m going to pick the Chargers to win this one but I wouldn’t be surprised if the Chiefs beat them.
Sunday November 4th

Broncos [4-3] @ Bengals  [3-4] (1pm CBS)
I’ll take the Broncos for the win.

Ravens [5-2]  @ Browns [2-6]  (1pm CBS)
As much as I would love to see the Browns win this game I’m going to have to take the Ravens.

Dolphins [4-3]  @ Colts [3-4]   (1pm CBS)
I’m going to take the Colts.

Bills [3-4]   @ Texans [6-1]   (1pm CBS)
My uncle, mom, and I all picked the Texans to win this game during the preseason and I’m sticking with my pick.

Panthers [1-6] @ Redskins [3-5]   (1pm FOX)
I want the Panthers to win this game, but by now I know better than to pick them to win. So I am picking the Redskins to win this game in great hope that I am wrong.

Cardinals [4-4] @ Packers [5-3]   (1pm FOX)
I’m taking the Packers.

Bears [6-1] @ Titans [3-5]   (1pm FOX)
Sorry Abby I’ve got to pick the Bears. I hope I’m wrong for your sake.

Buccaneers  [3-4] @ Raiders [3-4] (4:05pm FOX)
I like the Raiders at home this week.

Vikings [5-3] @ Seattle [4-4] (4:05pm FOX)
I’d love to see Seattle win this one. So I guess I’ll take Seattle for the win.

Steelers [4-3]  @ Giants [6-2]  (4:25pm CBS)
Well, in the preseason my uncle and I both picked the Giants to lose this game. My mom picked them to win. I’m changing my pick. It’ll be tough but I really think that the Giants can win this game! GO GMEN!

Cowboys [3-4]  @ Falcons [7-0]   (8:20pm NBC)
I’m hoping that the Falcons stay perfect this week. I’m picking them over the Cowboys.

Monday November 5th

Eagles [3-4] @ Saints [2-5]    (8:30pm ESPN)
I’ve got to go with the Saints just on principle.

BYE WEEK: PATRIOTS, JETS, 49ERS, RAMS

Thanks for the edit Mom!

GOOOOOOOOOOOOO GMEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
