Regular Season Week 9
Hello November. Don’t forget to change your clocks back this
weekend! I hope that all of you survived Sandy, we are all fine here in
Charlotte NC! It is super cold (for us) I finally broke down and turned on the
heat and brought all my porch plants inside.
It was another great weekend I must say. I am so blessed to
have awesome people in my life! The Ginn’s have become another family to me
(and I think I’m converting them into Giants fans!!!) I also did pretty decent with my picks again this week at 10-4.
Lets recap week 8.
Buccaneers @
Vikings 36-17
Boy was I wrong on this game! So much for home field
advantage and the statistics that favor home teams on Thursday nights. The Bucs
tore the Vikings apart.
Dolphins @ Jets
30-9
The Jets couldn’t even get the win with the Dolphins using
their backup QB because of a injured Ryan Tannehill. Metlife Stadium chanted
for Tim Tebow but he only got one rushing play. There is talk that Tebow could
be traded… I hope he is for his sake. I don’t want the Jets to let gangrene set
in on him too.
Chargers @ Browns 6-7
The Browns win their second game of the season! This was a
great defensive game. The Browns kept the Chargers out of the end zone the
entire day letting them only score two field goals.
Colts @ Titans 19-13 OT
The Colts got it done, it took overtime to do it but they
still got it done.
Patriots @ Rams 45-7
This game was played in London, and I can think of about 31
other teams in the NFL to represent the USA better than the Pats… oh well. The
Rams had to sacrifice their home field advantage as both teams were obviously
on the road. No other team can
rack up points unmercifully as the Pats. Poor Rams fans and sorry to England
for such an awful game.
Jaguars @ Packers 15-24
It looks like the Packers are back in action but it wasn’t
hard to do against the now 1-6 Jags who are arguably the worst team in the NFL
right now.
Falcons @ Eagles 30-17
Dear Atlanta, Thanks for beating the Eagles soundly. Love,
Shenoa
Redskins @ Steelers 12-27
I know the Redskins lost this game but the only thing that
sticks in my mind is the Steelers hideous uniforms. All I can say is WOW. And
OUCH.
Seahawks @ Lions 24-28
The Lions really squeaked in this win.
Panthers @ Bears 22-23
When asking Panthers fans about this particular game I just
got blank stares, and “I don’t want to talk about it.” Just when you think the
Panthers are going to pull off an upset they go and upset their fans instead.
Raiders @ Chiefs 26-16
This really was a no-brainer. The Chiefs are just about as
horrible as the Jaguars.
Giants @ Cowboys 29-24
Wow, yeah, this game… ummm well, I know I’ve said that the
Giants have won some pretty ugly games but I think that this one ranks up there
as one of the ugliest. I mean the first quarter was pretty spectacular,
laughable really. I joked with friends that Tony Romo was the Giants MVP. And
then I don’t know what happened. I really don’t know. It was like the bottom
fell out. We were ahead yet it felt like we were down by about 50 points. And
then it got worse… we had allowed the Cowboys to score 24 unanswered points to
take the lead. I’m pretty sure I almost had an aneurism during the last 2
minutes of the game. They say no one knows how an aneurism comes about… I’m
pretty sure it has something to do with watching the Giants play a divisional
game and almost lose.
I started knitting furiously, got really quiet, (you know
its really bad when I don’t speak at all) and just prayed that the Giants would escape with the win in
Jerry world. It didn’t help that
the youngest Ginn kept saying “man if the Giants lose I don’t know… man if the
Giants lose, if the Giants lose…” I’m not proud of this but I did respond to
him by holding up my knitting needle and say “I swear to God I will stab you if
you say that one more time” And in that moment the Ginns were introduced to
“crazy football shenoa”
Thankfully the would be go ahead Dallas touchdown with 10
seconds left was called back because Dez Bryant’s hand landed out of bounds as
he came down with the ball. And because Romo isn’t an (Eli)te quarter back he
didn’t have the connections for a comeback win. Big props go to Big Blues Big D
for picking off Romo 4 times. Other than that I’d like to forget about this
game. My hand still hurts from all that knitting. True Story.
Saints @ Broncos 14-34
After the Giants game I actually said regarding this game
“Oh no I don’t know if I can watch another Manning play right now.” But I’m
glad I watched. Peyton is back in his stride throwing 3 touchdown passes with
no interceptions. The Broncos
defense also had a great game holding the Saints to just two scores.
49ers @ Cardinals 24-3
Well, the time of the Cardinals is over (I say this with
just a little smirky grin.)
WEEK 9
Thursday November 1st
Chiefs [1-6] @
Chargers [3-4] (8:20pm NFLN)
I’m going to pick the Chargers to win this one but I
wouldn’t be surprised if the Chiefs beat them.
Sunday November 4th
Broncos [4-3] @ Bengals [3-4] (1pm CBS)
I’ll take the Broncos for the win.
Ravens [5-2] @
Browns [2-6] (1pm CBS)
As much as I would love to see the Browns win this game I’m
going to have to take the Ravens.
Dolphins [4-3]
@ Colts [3-4] (1pm
CBS)
I’m going to take the Colts.
Bills [3-4]
@ Texans [6-1] (1pm
CBS)
My uncle, mom, and I all picked the Texans to win this game
during the preseason and I’m sticking with my pick.
Panthers [1-6] @ Redskins [3-5] (1pm FOX)
I want the Panthers to win this game, but by now I know
better than to pick them to win. So I am picking the Redskins to win this game
in great hope that I am wrong.
Cardinals [4-4] @ Packers [5-3] (1pm FOX)
I’m taking the Packers.
Bears [6-1] @ Titans [3-5] (1pm FOX)
Sorry Abby I’ve got to pick the Bears. I hope I’m wrong for
your sake.
Buccaneers
[3-4] @ Raiders [3-4] (4:05pm FOX)
I like the Raiders at home this week.
Vikings [5-3] @ Seattle [4-4] (4:05pm FOX)
I’d love to see Seattle win this one. So I guess I’ll take
Seattle for the win.
Steelers [4-3]
@ Giants [6-2] (4:25pm CBS)
Well, in the preseason my uncle and I both picked the Giants
to lose this game. My mom picked them to win. I’m changing my pick. It’ll be
tough but I really think that the Giants can win this game! GO GMEN!
Cowboys [3-4] @
Falcons [7-0] (8:20pm NBC)
I’m hoping that the Falcons stay perfect this week. I’m
picking them over the Cowboys.
Monday November 5th
Eagles [3-4] @ Saints [2-5] (8:30pm ESPN)
I’ve got to go with the Saints just on principle.
BYE WEEK: PATRIOTS,
JETS, 49ERS, RAMS
Thanks for the edit Mom!
GOOOOOOOOOOOOO GMEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
