Regular Season Week 5

Week 4 had some crazy close games, some major upsets, and a lot of great entertainment. Let’s recap!

New York Jets @ Buffalo 38-14
Well the Bills are 0-4 (the same as their wins in the super bowl after consecutive appearances.  Poor Bills. I want to give a special thanks to my Dad right now for raising me as a Giants fan and not a Bills fan. (I have nothing against the bills, I love all the NY teams but….) Man to be a Bills fan must be really tough right now and the past 10 years…

Cincinnati @ Cleveland 2-23
YAY CLEVELAND!!!!!!!!! Congrats on the big first win of the season!

Baltimore @ Pittsburgh 17-14
Life is good! The Baltimore Ravens hands Pittsburgh their first loss. That’s all I asked for in this game. And for all you Steelers fans sorry for all the talk against your team. It’s not the team I dislike its your QB and when you don’t like the QB its hard to get behind the team. So if they get rid of Rothlisberger I could get behind this team.

Denver @ Tennessee 26-20
Another game goes my way! Thank you Denver for helping out the Colts.

Detroit @ Green Bay 26-28
I don’t know what to say Detroit… it was a good close game. Maybe next time?

San Francisco @ Atlanta 14-16
Right again. The 49ers couldn’t pull off the win. I’m really liking these close, close games in the NFL!

Carolina @ New Orleans 14-16
Really watched this game. Even wore my panthers t-shirt, hoping my support would help them…. What a game. Carolina actually was winning and looking good. And then they couldn’t convert to kick the field goal. Sad. Sooo soooo close Carolina. Side note: Monday morning at work in the staff lounge people were actually talking about watching the Panthers game.  This has never happened (I work will all females) so I was excited to talk football at work.  Their comments were “Ooh I really liked the pink shoes they wore! And the pink hats! And gloves!” and “ I like the way they look in their uniforms” my question was “well what did you think about the game?” answer “oh I really didn’t pay attention to that”  (I wanted to crawl under the table. I miss working with men)

Seattle @ Saint Louis 3-20
The Bumblebees win it! Thank you Saint Louis!

Indianapolis @ Jacksonville 28-31
All I have to say is WHO MAKES A 59 YARD FIELD GOAL?!?!?!!!!!!!!!!!!! BAHHHHHHH! CRAP. That was not the outcome I was looking for. Coach Caldwell did you really need to call that time out at the end of the game? Arg.

Houston @ Oakland 31-24
Raiders you disappoint me.  I needed a win from you.

Washington @ Philadelphia 17-12
WHAT A GREAT GAME!!!!!!! Sweet, sweet victory for McNabb! I was impressed that the Philly fans gave McNabb a standing ovation.  And then Postgame in the locker room McNabb said “Everybody makes mistakes in [their] lifetime, and they made one last year.” Beautifully put McNabb.

Arizona @ San Diego 10-41
Ouch! It is safe to say that the Chargers had their way with the Cardinals.

Chicago @ New York Giants 3-17
YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So the Giants had 10 SACKS, 9 in the first half and they took out 3 QB’s! Giants defense you looked FANTASTIC. Bradshaw and Jacobs both had touchdowns, and Chicago is no longer undefeated. It was a win, win, win! THANK YOU GIANTS FOR WINNING!!!!!!!! PS I would also like to thank you for being gentlemen at the end of the game and just kneeling it out instead of being out for blood like another head coach would have done with a touch down and a 2 point conversion. I won’t mention any names but it rhymes with Hill Helichick

New England @ Miami 41-14
Well Miami you looked good in the first half. Kinda wish you could have ended it there I bet.  You can always count on the patriots for a classy game in which they don’t run up the score on their opponent… wait….

WEEK 5

Jacksonville @ Buffalo
Well Buffalo I don’t know how to say it any other way. YOU NEED A WIN!!! Win or be deported to Canada.  When people talk about going to Ralph Wilson Stadium they are talking about going to concerts and not games anymore.  Now don’t quote me I might be wrong but didn’t Brett Favre say a couple of years ago he hated playing in Buffalo because of the fans? … come on Fans support your team and help them win a game!!!!!  I’m going to go out on a limb and say the Bills win it by 2
Denver @ Baltimore
I’m pretty sure the Ravens will win this.  GO BALTIMORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PS thanks for helping me with the win in fantasy last week, may I win again this week!

Kansas City @ Indianapolis
KS will not be undefeated after this game. The Colts need to play smarter and pick up there defense. Hey Colts D please play like the Giants D did against the Bears. DO NOT LET ME DOWN INDY!

Green Bay @ Washington
Love you McNabb but you can’t win this week because you and your Redskins are at the top of your division and that’s where the Giants need to be. So lets go Green Bay!

St. Louis @ Detroit
This is your chance Lions…. Win a game. Just start with one. All I am asking you to do is win just one.

Chicago @ Carolina
The Bears are coming off a humiliating loss and Carolina is always coming off a humiliating loss. Carolina needs this win so much more. Jobs are literally dependent on this game. True story. Some guy in Charlotte bet his job that the Panthers wouldn’t go 0-5… We’ll see if he still has a job on Monday I suppose.

Tampa Bay @ Cincinnati
I don’t know why but I am picking the Bengals to win this one.

Atlanta @ Cleveland
I’m still pulling for the Brownies, although I think that Atlanta is going to come out on top.

New York Giants @ Houston
Giants all the way! With the Giants coming of a huge defensive win against the Bears last week they are probably super excited to get back out on the field and hit the QB again and again and again. And if the Cowboys can beat Houston the Giants defiantly can. Also the Texans are on top of their division and need to be knocked out so that the Colts can take their place. GOOOOOOOOOOOOOO GIANTS!!!!!!!

New Orleans @ Arizona
New Orleans really should have lost last week against the Panthers and this is what Arizona is going to hit them with.  Arizona is at the top of their division at 2-2 but with a 3-way tie with the Rams and Seahawks, and the 49ers are at the bottom at 0-4. The NFC West is by far the weakest division in the NFL. I wouldn’t be surprised if the Saints win this one but on the other hand it wouldn’t surprise me in Arizona won either. Either way I don’t really care.

Tennessee @ Dallas
Obviously I hate Dallas so I’m pulling for the Titians win even though a Tennessee win will hurt my Colts a Dallas win will hurt my Giants. But I never ever root for Dallas so GO TITIANS!

San Diego @ Oakland
Not only is this an in state game its also a divisional game. So to make the division a little bit more even Oakland should win. But to help my fantasy team Phillip Rivers needs to throw a lot of TD passes.  So I guess I would like to see the Chargers win for my selfish reasons.

Philadelphia @ San Francisco
I am calling the underdog win! The 0-4 49ers are going to beat the 2-2 Eagles. I hate the Eagles.

Minnesota @ New York Jets
J-E-T-S JETS JETS JETS!!!!!
Minnesota is welcoming future hall of famer Randy Moss back to their team after the Patriots traded him for a 3rd round pick in the 2011 draft.  That’s just what the Vikings need, not one, but two drama queens. The Jets will win this one because Randy will not like Favre getting all the attention and he’ll throw Favre’s walker into the stands in retaliation. It will be very entertaining. I can’t wait.

Now to all my faithful readers I lovingly implore you to watch as much football as you can this Sunday because I will not be able to. I am in Minnesota this weekend for my brother’s wedding and as much as he loves me I don’t think he would think it was very kind if I had headphones on during the ceremony listening to the game (being that I am one of the bridesmaids). Also I would probably throw my bouquet and yell obscenities in the middle of the “I do’s” if Manning threw an interception.
That being said Congratulations Robby and Kristen I love you very much and I wish you God’s best in all that you do annnnnnnd GO GIANTS AND GO COLTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
