Regular Season Week 8

Just in case you missed last week’s games we’ll recap.  It must be brought to attention the “multitude of mistakes” by the refs this past weekend and throughout the season. It has gotten to the point that the NFL had a conference call with ALL the game officials this past Friday to encourage them to do a better job when it comes to making the right calls. The refs are really making some serious mistakes and hopefully after this conference call the officials will be bringing their A-game to work. On a good note the defensive players seem to have been able to correct their “illegal” hitting so far. Lets see if the refs can correct their eyesight.

Cincinnati @ Atlanta 32-39
I called Atlanta to win this game and they did. I wish the rest of life was that easy.

Pittsburgh @ Miami 23-22
Talk about the blown calls from officials…  Miami should have won this game but do to a blown call with an obvious Roethlisberger fumble Pittsburgh won with a field goal.

Buffalo @ Baltimore 34-37
Well Buffalo made it to over time... and came up short. On the other hand Baltimore should be hanging their heads in shame to allow 34 points, especially from the Bills. I was right the Bills are 0-6

Jacksonville @ Kansas City 20-42
I picked KC to win this game and they did but I still don’t understand how KC is 4-2 on the season. KC is still on top of their division, 2nd is Oakland?!??? (what?) 3rd is San Diego and last is the Broncos. I feel like I’m in the twilight zone looking at these standings. Shouldn’t they be reversed?

Cleveland @ New Orleans 30-17
On any given day any given team can win a football game and that’s just what happened last Sunday.  The Browns rocked the Saints in Who Dat Country. The Super Bowl champs were stunned and I think that their Super Bowl hangover continues. Who knows maybe Drew Brees is taking his Nyquil on the field instead of waiting till he gets home? Brees threw 4 interceptions, 2 of which were returned for TDs.

Washington @ Chicago 17-14
I really just don’t know what to say. I’m not happy that Washington won but Chicago seems to be good at disappointing.

San Francisco @ Carolina 20-23
CAROLINA WINS THEIR FIRST GAME OF THE SEASON!!!!!!! Thank God for John Kasay. Pretty sure he has the most points this season for Carolina… and he is of course the Panthers kicker.

Saint Louis @ Tampa Bay 17-18
Saint Louis let me down. It must have been a good defensive game on their part but not good enough they allowed only one touchdown but allowed 4 field goals losing the game by one point.

Philadelphia @ Tennessee 19-37
I am very happy with this outcome. This game puts the Eagles in 3rd place and the Giants safely at the top of the NFC East and I like this very much.

Arizona @ Seattle 10-22
With this win Seattle leads the NFC West at 4-2.  I bet Arizona misses Warner more than ever. I hope he’s doing well on Dancing With The Stars.

New England @ San Diego 23-20
San Diego has no one to blame but their own players. Tragic game if you are a Chargers fan and a tragic game if you are not a Pats fan…. It was tragic for me.

Oakland @ Denver 59-14
This was the highest scoring game by the Raiders ever! Crazy! I think maybe Denver forgot to show up for the game?

Minnesota @ Green Bay 24-28
This was another game that fans were in an uproar over calls by the officials.  And Childress was fined $35,000 for publicly bashing the officials after the game.  Maybe he should use all that anger and direct it to benching Favre.
Favre definitely could have used his walker at the end of the game. It was pathetic…. They say that pride comes right before the fall…. PS this game was the most-watched Sunday Night Football game in history to date.

New York Giants @ Dallas 41-35
The New York Football Giants ~ taking out QBs one game at a time! I know that with the track record the Giants have this far if I was an opposing QB I’d be a little afraid.  Good thing I’m a huge Giants fan. True story – I have a friend who has a friend who is wearing a Romo jersey with her left arm in a sling and has a sign that says property of the NY Giants for Halloween! Love it! I’m not going to even mention the first 5 minutes of the game… it was so bad that I’ve erased it from my memory but I do remember the glorious win and that’s what counts! On a side note this game drew cable TV’s biggest audience of the year with 17.9 million viewers. I am so glad that so many people got to see this amazingly awesome game!

WEEK 8!

Denver @ San Francisco
After last weeks massacre at Denver I would hope that the Broncos have a better game this week. On the other hand the 49ers really need a win after losing to the 1-5 Panthers.  But if I have to pick a winner I’m going with Denver.  Denver is 2-5 on the season and San Fran is 1-6.

Jacksonville @ Dallas
Dallas is pathetic and with out Romo their hopes of a win go from dismal to worse. I have to go with Jacksonville this week.  Jacksonville is 3-4 and Dallas is 1-5 on the season.

Miami @ Cincinnati
I’m not sure if Cincinnati has what it takes to win at home. And I’m sure that Miami is all riled up after losing to Pittsburgh last week.  I think that Miami will win this one.  Miami is 3-3 and Cincinnati is 2-4 on the season

Buffalo @ Kansas City
Call me crazy but I’m going with Buffalo this week. All the odds stand against them and that’s what makes this pick so crazy.  Buffalo is 0-6 and needs a win desperately and KC is at a surprising 4-2.

Washington @ Detroit
I want another upset. Come on Detroit! You should be fresh off your bye week. Just don’t hurt McNabb.  The Redskins are 4-3 and Detroit is 1-5

Carolina @ Saint Louis
Carolina had their one win of the season they aren’t due for another win for a while. I like the Rams in this game.  Carolina is 1-5 and Saint Louis is 3-4

Green Bay @ New York Jets
Green Bay looked good last week but I think that the refs were the ones who gave them the win. I’m taking the Jets this Sunday because they’ve got to be awesomely well rested coming off their bye. Green Bay is 4-3 and the J-E-T-S JETS JETS JETS are 5-1

Tennessee @ San Diego
Love you Abby but I’ve got to go with San Diego for many reasons. 1. They need the win. 2. Philip Rivers is my QB this week for fantasy football. 3.  Ryan Mathews is one of my RB’s this week for fantasy football. 4.  The Titans have a better record than the Colts and I just cant have that so the Titans need to lose. 5. The Chargers desperately need to get out of their funk.  The Titans are 5-2 while the Chargers are 2-5 on the season

Minneapolis @ New England
Ok there are a couple of different scenarios for this game.  1. Childress could grow some balls, bench Favre, start Tavaris Jackson and beat the Pats (this is the best {and my favorite} but least likely scenario in my opinion) 2 Favre tells Childress that he’s starting (because everyone knows that Favre is actually the coach of the Vikings), the Patriots are like sharks and smell the blood as soon as he hobbles onto the field, and the defense tears Favre apart limb from limb on the very first drive. This will take Favre out not only the rest of the game but for life and he will actually have to start using a walker to get around in day-to-day living. Jackson will replace him and pull the team to victory (this is also a good scenario but not the best) The 3rd scenario is like the second only Favre plays longer and when he finally gets hurt he refuses to get off the field and stays in the whole game and hands the Patriots a win on a silver platter. (This is my least favorite scenario but the most likely one in the real world. I mean we just saw the same scenario last week against Green Bay) Patriots this should be an easy win for you but I hope you blow it.  Patriots are 5-1 and the Vikings are a sad 2-4

Tampa Bay @ Arizona
Arizona is 2-0 at home so I am going to go with Arizona on this game. Tampa Bay is 4-2 on the season and 2-0 on the road but I am still going with Arizona. The Cardinals are 3-3 on the season.

Seattle @ Oakland
I hope this is a good game but I have to go with Oakland after that win last week even though Seattle is 4-2.  Oakland is making a comeback this season I think at 3-4

Pittsburgh @ New Orleans
The Saints need this win after being embarrassed by the Browns last week.  I’m going with the Saints. Hopefully the refs will make the right calls this time and not give the game to Pittsburgh.  The Steelers are 5-1 and the Saints are 4-3

Houston @ Indianapolis
Can’t wait for Monday Night Football! Another divisional game and my other favorite team is playing this Monday. They both have the same record in the AFC South at 4-2. Obviously I want the Colts to win. I missed them last week while they were on their bye week and I am happy that they are back this week. Make me proud Indi. Make me proud!

This week’s byes are the Falcons, Ravens, Bears, Browns, Giants and Eagles

Enjoy! GO COLTS!!!!!!!

PS a special thanks to my mom for editing for me!

The Shenoa Report Week 7

The Shenoa Report
October 23, 2010
Regular Season Week 7

I can’t believe we are headed into week 7 already. The football season seems to go by way too fast.  Lets look at last week’s games.

Miami @ Green Bay 23-20 OT
Green Bay couldn’t hold onto the game and lost in OT. For the second week in a row the Packers loose in OT by a field goal. Too bad. So sad.  Miami is at 3-2 and Green Bay is at 3-3 on the season.

San Diego @ Saint Louis 17-20
Its’ always an humbling experience to pick a winner and be totally wrong. Well the bumblebees bounced back after a humiliating loss against the Lions last week. I don’t know what that says about San Diego….  I have benched Phillip Rivers and started Eli Manning this week in fantasy. San Diego you’re killing me.  Saint Louis is at 3-3 on the season while San Diego is at a depressing 2-4.

Baltimore @ New England 20-23 OT
This was a great game to watch I only wish that the outcome had turned out differently. Both defenses looked good but Baltimore just wasn’t good enough.  Ravens you’ve let me down once again. Tom get a freakin haircut you look like a strung out bum. And Bill you always look like a bum with your cut off sweatshirts, I’m starting to think you look the way you do on national tv just to see how many times you make me dry heave…. Because I do so every time I see you.  New England’s record is 4-1 while Baltimore is 4-2.

Cleveland @ Pittsburgh 10-28
Now to address the huge fines because of the helmet to helmet tackling. Dear James Harrison you are threatening to retire because of a fine. Well…. BYE. Outside of Steeler country NO ONE is going to miss you. Boo hooo hooo…. Really? Really? I understand that you are upset…. But threatening to retire is kinda of childish I think. Yeah you’ll really show the NFL by that.  Whatever. Cleveland drops to 1-5 this season, while the Steelers are at the top of the AFC North at 4-1…. Hopefully they’ll lose next week.

Kansas City @ Houston 31-35
KC you were supposed to win! What happened? There is still at 3-way tie in the AFC South for 1st place between the Titans, the Texans, and the Colts at 4-2.  I don’t know how but KC still leads the AFC West at 3-2 over the Raiders, Chargers, and Broncos. This is defiantly a strange football season to say the least.

Detroit @ New York Giants 20-28
I didn’t get this game on TV but I was able to listen to it on my phone and what a game it was. Big thanks to the Lions for choking. It would have been just so depressing for the Giants to lose to the Lions. The Giants need to continue to get stronger and continue to win. And Detroit now that you’ve played the Giants I can cheer for you again. I’ll be cheering for you especially hard on thanksgiving. Giants lead the NFC East at 4-2 and Detroit brings up the rear at 1-5 in the NFC North.

Atlanta @ Philadelphia 17-31
My dislike for Philly grows stronger every week. I don’t know how else to say it…. Philadelphia you need to start losing I will not take no as an answer. Atlanta is at the top of the NFC South at 4-2 and Philly is tied for 1st in the NFC East with the Giants at 4-2

Seattle @ Chicago 23-20
The thing with football is it never seizes to amaze me.  Just when you think that there is a sure win the underdog comes along and takes the game. I never expected Chicago to loose to Seattle. Shame on me.  Chicago is still at the top of the NFC North at 4-2 and Seattle is tied for 1st with the Cardinals at 3-2 in the NFC West.

New Orleans @ Tampa Bay 31-6
The Saints did what they had to do to get back to the top of their division. They now lead the Buccs by one game. Saints are 4-2 and the Buccs are 3-2 on the season.  Good game Saints.

New York Jets @ Denver 24-20
I must say that I like the Jets more and more every week. Their success hurts the Patriots. On the other hand I am soooooo proud of Tim Tebow with his first rushing TD in the NFL!!!! Congrats Timmy!!!!!! I love you. And Congrats Jets for the win last week!  The Jets are at the tippy top of the AFC East (over the Patriots I might add) at 5-1 and the Broncos are at the bottom of the AFC West at 2-4

Oakland @ San Francisco 9-17
San Francisco you showed up to a game and won!!!!! Good for you!  I just have to laugh when I look at the standings and see that the Raiders are 2nd in the AFC West at 2-4…. Something is wrong with this sentence. But it’s true! The AFC West doesn’t have a strong dominate division…  Now the 49ers are last in the NFC West at 1-5 but its still a really close division… Sad

Dallas @ Minnesota 21-24
Thanks Minnesota for hanging on and beating the Cowboys.  There are only a few things that are sweeter than the Cowboys being at the bottom of their division.  Dallas is at 1-4 for on the season at the bottom of the NFC East  and the Vikings are at 2-4 and very close to the bottom of the NFC North.

Indianapolis @ Washington 27-24
Thank God for DVR and thank God for an Indi win.  I just can’t stay up for those late games and I’m so glad I can watch the game the next day. Dallas Clark I pray for a miraculous healing and I wish you well.  Indi, like I said to the Giants I will say to you….  You need to continue to get stronger and continue to win!!!!!! Thanks. Love shenoa. Indi is in a 3-way tie for the lead of the AFC South at 4-2 and Washington is in the middle of the NFC East at 3-3

Tennessee @ Jacksonville 30-3
This game failed to meet my expectations. (This statement brings me back to 7th grade science when the teacher told us that we weren’t aloud to say “sucks” we had to say “this fails to meet my expectations”)  I would have really liked to see Jacksonville win but that just didn’t happen. I’m blaming Jacksonville for my fantasy loss as well. Now I am 3-3 on the season. .  We all know that Tennessee is tied for 1st in the AFC South at 4-2 and Jacksonville is at the bottom of the AFC South at 3-3.

Now lets look at the upcoming games for week 7.

WEEK 7

Cincinnati @ Atlanta
I like Atlanta in this game.  Done and done

Pittsburgh @ Miami
Parcells is finally retiring for real it seams…. Who is going to help Miami now? Well, hopefully Pittsburgh can help Miami win….

Buffalo @ Baltimore
I just don’t see buffalo pulling off the win…. Will they be 0-6…. I think so.

Jacksonville @ Kansas City
I like KC… hopefully they like me too

Cleveland @ New Orleans
The Browns need a win so badly. Hopefully they will surprise the Saints with a win. Hey, on any given day any given team can win a football game.

Washington @ Chicago
I’m going with Da Bears only because Washington is threatening the Giant’s standings.

San Francisco @ Carolina
We are going to call this the toilet bowl like on the tv show “Friday Night Lights” these 2 teams are arguably the worst teams in the NFL. The 49ers do have one win on the season so they may be a little bit better than Carolina but not much. This should be a good close game and hopefully Carolina will come out on top. My friend will be at this game and I just hope for the best. Goooooo Panthers! (At least you didn’t lose last week ;) )

Saint Louis @ Tampa Bay
Ok now that I live in Charlotte I really should support my team… therefore being that the Buccs are in the same division as the Panthers I will be pulling for Saint Louis. Goooooo Bumblebees!!!!!

Philadelphia @ Tennessee
Defiantly hate Philly more than Tennessee… therefore goooooo Titans! (Abby that was for you ;)) Though I wouldn’t be heart broken if this game ended in a tie.

Arizona @ Seattle
These guys are tied for 1st place at the top of their division. Who is going to take the NFC West this week? I’m going with the Cardinals.

New England @ San Diego
Oh man. San Diego get out of your funk and start winning games!!!!!!! You are better than that.  Pats this is your week to lose.

Oakland @ Denver
Play Tebow and let Denver win!!!! I love me some Tim Tebow ;)

Minnesota @ Green Bay
Aaron Rodgers may God and then rest of the Packers be with you as you stomp Minnesota soundly!

New York Giants @ Dallas
Can’t wait for this game!!!!!! GOOOOOOOOOOO G-MEN!!!!!!!!! Lets spoil another game in that ridiculous stadium. Yeaaaaah!

Enjoy your Sunday & Monday Football and may your favorite teams win ;)
GO GIANTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Shenoa Report Week 6

The Shenoa Report

Regular Season Week 6

I would like to thank my iPhone, the text updates from friends, Inside the NFL, Sports Center, and a certain groomsman who helped me get through week 5. Without these guys and applications I wouldn’t have been able to keep up with the games last week. I was able to listen to part of the Giants Texans game and the Colts KC game while we were taking the wedding pictures but that got too distracting so I made myself give up my phone and hand it off to said groomsman who kept me up to date with the scores. I’m not gonna lie I did take my phone back quite frequently (only to check scores not to listen to the games) and right before walking down the isle I knew that the Giants and Colts had won their games.
PS my brother’s wedding was beautiful and football free.
Note to self: do not get married on a Sunday during the football season if you are a big football fan.
Here’s the recap!

Jacksonville @ Buffalo 36-26
Buffalo led this game. Yes we were all shocked as we checked the scores Sunday afternoon but we weren’t shocked that they lost. …. 0-5. oh snap Buffalo!

Denver @ Baltimore 17-31
Thanks Baltimore. I’m 3-2 in fantasy partly thanks to you.

Kansas City @ Indianapolis 9-19
A game of field goals and no Peyton Manning touchdowns… It’s probably a good thing that I only listened to 2 minutes of this game and just got the text updates.  I knew that KC wouldn’t be undefeated after this game but the Colts really need to step up their game.

Green Bay @ Washington 13-16
Green Bay I’m a little disappointed that you gave Washington the game in overtime. But I really did enjoy your store at the Mall of America. You have a couple fantastic t-shirts.  One of them is a picture of an empty Vikings trophy case with cobwebs in it and the other one said “Real women love football… the rest can stay in the kitchen” I think need that t-shirt.

St. Louis @ Detroit 6-44
HOLY *BLEEEEEEEP* Way to go Detroit! Now that’s a win! GREAT day for Lions fans. NOT a good day for Rams fans… 44 points… wow

Chicago @ Carolina 23-6
This was just sad. “Nationally syndicated morning show ACE and TJ said goodbye to a member of the show this morning following a bet involving the Carolina Panthers. White Shadow bet his job that the PANTHERS, his hometown team, would win a game before week 5 of the regular season. The PANTHERS loss to the BEARS puts them 0-5 for the season -- and SHADOW lived up to his end of the bet and resigned.”
Carolina you should be ashamed of yourself and Shadow I hope you have learned your lesson on things NOT to bet on, example, the Carolina Panthers.

Tampa Bay @ Cincinnati 24-21
Tampa Bay has showed that Cincinnati is in fact not a force to be reckoned with.

Atlanta @ Cleveland 20-10
Atlanta is at the top of their division and Cleveland at the bottom of theirs. Tough break Brownies maybe next time.

New York Giants @ Houston 34-10
I am so proud of the Giants!  Nicks is killing it on the field and on my fantasy team! I got to listen to some of this game before the official wedding pictures were taken. I was hiding my phone behind my bouquet and listening to the game while some of my family was snapping pictures. I look very happy in all those pictures J  And then right before the wedding was to start I was able to freely give my phone back to my groomsman knowing that both of my teams had won their games.  PS Giants you are looking GREAT and you have helped out the Colts by beating the Texans!

New Orleans @ Arizona 20-30
Way to go Arizona I really didn’t think you had a win in you.

Tennessee @ Dallas 34-27
Thanks for the win Tennessee I just love that the Cowboys are 1-3.

San Diego @ Oakland 27-35
Really Chargers? Really? Oakland is now ahead of you in the standings. It’s safe to say that this year its anyone’s game.

Philadelphia @ San Francisco 27-24
Well San Francisco you are well on your way to a first round draft pick… you’re only competition is the Panthers. … and the Bills…

Minnesota @ New York Jets 20-29
Let me start by first congratulating Favre for his 500th touchdown pass. I will next congratulate him on the interception he threw to give the game to the J-E-T-S JETS JETS JETS!!!!!  Randy Moss got more action on the field with the Vikings than with the Patriots but not enough for a win. So glad that the Jets were able to take the victory away from Favre and the Vikings especially after the way Favre treated the Jets.  And for all those Viking fans that I met last weekend I am truly sorry for trash talking your team but when Favre retires (for real) I’ll promptly stop.

WEEK 6

I was talking with a friend and we discussed that this is a great football season because pretty much any team right now has a chance.  Key words are “pretty much” .

Miami @ Green Bay
Miami is coming off a bye week and a two loss streak  while Green Bay is coming off a depressing loss in which they gave the game to Washington. Both teams need a win but I think that Green Bay is going to have to fight harder to win this week. I want to pick Green Bay to win…. We’ll see.

San Diego @ Saint Louis
Both teams are coming off of pathetic losses but the Rams have the more humiliating of the two. I am not sure they can bounce back. I pick the Chargers to win this one.
.
Baltimore @ New England
New England is coming off their bye week and trading Randy Moss to the Vikings. How great would it be if after all that rest and drama behind them that Baltimore still kicks their butt. That’s what I’m hoping for.

Cleveland @ Pittsburgh
Roethlisberger is back. Blah. Cleveland you have my permission to hit him as much as you possibly can. Lets go Brownies!

Kansas City @ Houston
Now that KC is not undefeated they should seek vengeance on the division that put them there.  It’s ok you can take out your loss to the Colts on Houston. I’m ok with that. Go Chiefs! (that’s nice but who are the Chefs.)

Detroit @ New York Giants
Giants are looking GREAT but after last week so is Detroit…(I know it sounded weird coming out of my mouth as I typed it)  G-Men don’t put your guard down, play hard and don’t give up. I want you to be 4-2 Sunday night..

Atlanta @ Philadelphia
Just because Vick is out doesn’t mean anything. Dear Atlanta , stomp those eagles. Love shenoa.

Seattle @ Chicago
Seattle is also coming off a bye week and Chicago had an easy win against the Panthers. This could be anyone’s game but I’m pretty sure that Chicago will win this one at home.

New Orleans @ Tampa Bay
The Saints are 3rd in their division while Tampa Bay is right above them in 2nd.  Saints need the win but I like Tampa this time.

New York Jets @ Denver
Well a Jets win hurts the Patriots. J-E-T-S! JETS. JETS. JETS!!!!! Its weird growing up I was never really a Jets fan but right now they are pretty cool in my book. Sorry Denver I like the Jets in this game.

Oakland @ San Francisco
Sorry San Francisco I don’t see you winning this one… will you go 0-6 this week? Make me a liar

Dallas @ Minnesota
Favre might not play and I hate Dallas so common sense says LETS GO VIKINGS!
Now I must share with you what was said on Inside the NFL this week
“What I wanted to ask was do they coach players on how to retire. Because I think Barry Sanders was the last football player who retired correctly. He just disappeared is what he did. You know Brett Favre is going to end up at the end of the season in an adult diaper trying to stay in the pocket giving it this… Please just retire already! … “ ~David Feherty
I’ll be watching the game and in honor of my new sister I will be rooting for Minnesota this week. Favre or no Favre…. Hopefully no Favre…

Indianapolis @ Washington
I get to watch this game and am oh so excited. I want to see Peyton put up 4 TD’s and no interceptions. The Giants helped the Colts last week so now the Colts can help the Giants this week.

Tennessee @ Jacksonville
I just picked up Mike Thomas as one of my wide receivers for fantasy so I hope he has a good game against Tennessee. Lets go Jags!

And that’s how I see it this week. I hope you’ve enjoyed reading because I sure have enjoyed sharing. Go GIANTS AND Go COLTS!!!!!!

The Shenoa Report Week 5

The Shenoa Report
October 4, 2010
Regular Season Week 5

Week 4 had some crazy close games, some major upsets, and a lot of great entertainment. Let’s recap!

New York Jets @ Buffalo 38-14
Well the Bills are 0-4 (the same as their wins in the super bowl after consecutive appearances.  Poor Bills. I want to give a special thanks to my Dad right now for raising me as a Giants fan and not a Bills fan. (I have nothing against the bills, I love all the NY teams but….) Man to be a Bills fan must be really tough right now and the past 10 years…

Cincinnati @ Cleveland 2-23
YAY CLEVELAND!!!!!!!!! Congrats on the big first win of the season!

Baltimore @ Pittsburgh 17-14
Life is good! The Baltimore Ravens hands Pittsburgh their first loss. That’s all I asked for in this game. And for all you Steelers fans sorry for all the talk against your team. It’s not the team I dislike its your QB and when you don’t like the QB its hard to get behind the team. So if they get rid of Rothlisberger I could get behind this team.

Denver @ Tennessee 26-20
Another game goes my way! Thank you Denver for helping out the Colts.

Detroit @ Green Bay 26-28
I don’t know what to say Detroit… it was a good close game. Maybe next time?

San Francisco @ Atlanta 14-16
Right again. The 49ers couldn’t pull off the win. I’m really liking these close, close games in the NFL!

Carolina @ New Orleans 14-16
Really watched this game. Even wore my panthers t-shirt, hoping my support would help them…. What a game. Carolina actually was winning and looking good. And then they couldn’t convert to kick the field goal. Sad. Sooo soooo close Carolina. Side note: Monday morning at work in the staff lounge people were actually talking about watching the Panthers game.  This has never happened (I work will all females) so I was excited to talk football at work.  Their comments were “Ooh I really liked the pink shoes they wore! And the pink hats! And gloves!” and “ I like the way they look in their uniforms” my question was “well what did you think about the game?” answer “oh I really didn’t pay attention to that”  (I wanted to crawl under the table. I miss working with men)

Seattle @ Saint Louis 3-20
The Bumblebees win it! Thank you Saint Louis!

Indianapolis @ Jacksonville 28-31
All I have to say is WHO MAKES A 59 YARD FIELD GOAL?!?!?!!!!!!!!!!!!! BAHHHHHHH! CRAP. That was not the outcome I was looking for. Coach Caldwell did you really need to call that time out at the end of the game? Arg.

Houston @ Oakland 31-24
Raiders you disappoint me.  I needed a win from you.

Washington @ Philadelphia 17-12
WHAT A GREAT GAME!!!!!!! Sweet, sweet victory for McNabb! I was impressed that the Philly fans gave McNabb a standing ovation.  And then Postgame in the locker room McNabb said “Everybody makes mistakes in [their] lifetime, and they made one last year.” Beautifully put McNabb.

Arizona @ San Diego 10-41
Ouch! It is safe to say that the Chargers had their way with the Cardinals.

Chicago @ New York Giants 3-17
YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So the Giants had 10 SACKS, 9 in the first half and they took out 3 QB’s! Giants defense you looked FANTASTIC. Bradshaw and Jacobs both had touchdowns, and Chicago is no longer undefeated. It was a win, win, win! THANK YOU GIANTS FOR WINNING!!!!!!!! PS I would also like to thank you for being gentlemen at the end of the game and just kneeling it out instead of being out for blood like another head coach would have done with a touch down and a 2 point conversion. I won’t mention any names but it rhymes with Hill Helichick

New England @ Miami 41-14
Well Miami you looked good in the first half. Kinda wish you could have ended it there I bet.  You can always count on the patriots for a classy game in which they don’t run up the score on their opponent… wait….

WEEK 5

Jacksonville @ Buffalo
Well Buffalo I don’t know how to say it any other way. YOU NEED A WIN!!! Win or be deported to Canada.  When people talk about going to Ralph Wilson Stadium they are talking about going to concerts and not games anymore.  Now don’t quote me I might be wrong but didn’t Brett Favre say a couple of years ago he hated playing in Buffalo because of the fans? … come on Fans support your team and help them win a game!!!!!  I’m going to go out on a limb and say the Bills win it by 2
Denver @ Baltimore
I’m pretty sure the Ravens will win this.  GO BALTIMORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PS thanks for helping me with the win in fantasy last week, may I win again this week!

Kansas City @ Indianapolis
KS will not be undefeated after this game. The Colts need to play smarter and pick up there defense. Hey Colts D please play like the Giants D did against the Bears. DO NOT LET ME DOWN INDY!

Green Bay @ Washington
Love you McNabb but you can’t win this week because you and your Redskins are at the top of your division and that’s where the Giants need to be. So lets go Green Bay!

St. Louis @ Detroit
This is your chance Lions…. Win a game. Just start with one. All I am asking you to do is win just one.

Chicago @ Carolina
The Bears are coming off a humiliating loss and Carolina is always coming off a humiliating loss. Carolina needs this win so much more. Jobs are literally dependent on this game. True story. Some guy in Charlotte bet his job that the Panthers wouldn’t go 0-5… We’ll see if he still has a job on Monday I suppose.

Tampa Bay @ Cincinnati
I don’t know why but I am picking the Bengals to win this one.

Atlanta @ Cleveland
I’m still pulling for the Brownies, although I think that Atlanta is going to come out on top.

New York Giants @ Houston
Giants all the way! With the Giants coming of a huge defensive win against the Bears last week they are probably super excited to get back out on the field and hit the QB again and again and again. And if the Cowboys can beat Houston the Giants defiantly can. Also the Texans are on top of their division and need to be knocked out so that the Colts can take their place. GOOOOOOOOOOOOOO GIANTS!!!!!!!

New Orleans @ Arizona
New Orleans really should have lost last week against the Panthers and this is what Arizona is going to hit them with.  Arizona is at the top of their division at 2-2 but with a 3-way tie with the Rams and Seahawks, and the 49ers are at the bottom at 0-4. The NFC West is by far the weakest division in the NFL. I wouldn’t be surprised if the Saints win this one but on the other hand it wouldn’t surprise me in Arizona won either. Either way I don’t really care.

Tennessee @ Dallas
Obviously I hate Dallas so I’m pulling for the Titians win even though a Tennessee win will hurt my Colts a Dallas win will hurt my Giants. But I never ever root for Dallas so GO TITIANS!

San Diego @ Oakland
Not only is this an in state game its also a divisional game. So to make the division a little bit more even Oakland should win. But to help my fantasy team Phillip Rivers needs to throw a lot of TD passes.  So I guess I would like to see the Chargers win for my selfish reasons.

Philadelphia @ San Francisco
I am calling the underdog win! The 0-4 49ers are going to beat the 2-2 Eagles. I hate the Eagles.

Minnesota @ New York Jets
J-E-T-S JETS JETS JETS!!!!!
Minnesota is welcoming future hall of famer Randy Moss back to their team after the Patriots traded him for a 3rd round pick in the 2011 draft.  That’s just what the Vikings need, not one, but two drama queens. The Jets will win this one because Randy will not like Favre getting all the attention and he’ll throw Favre’s walker into the stands in retaliation. It will be very entertaining. I can’t wait.

Now to all my faithful readers I lovingly implore you to watch as much football as you can this Sunday because I will not be able to. I am in Minnesota this weekend for my brother’s wedding and as much as he loves me I don’t think he would think it was very kind if I had headphones on during the ceremony listening to the game (being that I am one of the bridesmaids). Also I would probably throw my bouquet and yell obscenities in the middle of the “I do’s” if Manning threw an interception.
That being said Congratulations Robby and Kristen I love you very much and I wish you God’s best in all that you do annnnnnnd GO GIANTS AND GO COLTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Shenoa Report Week 4

Regular Season Week 4

Well let’s just say it’s a good thing I’m not a betting woman because last week my picks sucked…. It just wasn’t a good weekend for me. Hopefully this weekend will go a whole lot better.

I have an iPhone and have never bought an app. I always get the free ones. So Sunday I knew I was going to be traveling and not able to watch a lot of football so I finally bought an app so that I could listen to the Giants game and the Colts game while I was on the road.  Note to self: driving and listening to the Giants lose isn’t a safe thing.

Tennessee @ New York Giants 29-10
The Giants are killing me this season and they have only played 3 games. I was listening to the Giants pregame show on my drive out to Raleigh on Sunday and to make a long story short they were talking about getting rid of Coughlin and replacing him with John Fox. (Not gonna lie, I almost drove off the road when I heard this. Mostly from yelling at the radio saying NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!) Dear Giants, if this is not enough incentive to win I don’t know what is. John Fox is not the answer just ask the Panthers… This is just a hypothetical situation if the Giants do poorly this season….
In the first 10 minutes Eli had 2 interceptions. It wasn’t a good game.

Cincinnati @ Carolina 20-7
Carolina is in big trouble. The local radio stations have already started parodies of songs here in Charlotte bashing the team. It’s not a good thing when the football team’s city is bashing them.  The sad thing is the songs are quite humorous.
Jimmy Clausen didn’t look all that bad and he would look even better if he had a team to back him up.

Pittsburg @ Tampa Bay 38-13
Tampa Bay I was counting on you to beat the opponent soundly. You failed miserably.

Buffalo @ New England 30-38
Ok so the patriots won, BUT they let THE BILLS score 30 points on them! THE BILLS SCORED 30 POINTS ON THE PATRIOTS! THE BUFFALO BILLS SCORED 30 POINTS ON NEW ENGLAND IN PATRIOT COUNTRY!  Pats you’re slipping, and I love it.

Cleveland @ Baltimore 17-24
I needed Baltimore to win but it didn’t help my fantasy game.  I would really like to see Cleveland pull off a win. I kind of feel like a broken record.

San Francisco @ Kansas City 10-31
What is this word that we live in? Is this real life? The Kansas City Chiefs are one of the three teams undefeated in the NFL?!  I think the 49ers forgot to show up for their game.  KC is really 3-0? Really?

Dallas @ Houston 27-13
Way to blow it Houston. Seriously.  At least with Houston losing there is a 3-way tie between Houston, Indi, and Tennessee for 1st place in the AFC South.  But with a Dallas win there is a 3-way tie for 2nd place between the Redskins, the Giants and Dallas in the NFC East. I hate the cowboys and the eagles.

Detroit @ Minnesota 10-24
Come on Detroit! At least the last 2 games you played we close.  What happened? Did Favre’s walker reflect of the sun and blind your eyes?  Lets do better next week.

Atlanta @ New Orleans 27-24 OT
Crazy game in OT. 4 field goal attempts. Wow. Are the Saints suffering from a super bowl hangover? Have you seen the Walgreens commercial with Drew Brees? Pretty funny.  Check it out. I don’t want to spoil the joke.

Washington @ St. Louis 16-30
The Rams needed a win and Washington needed a loss.  I love it when things work out the way I want them too.

Philadelphia @ Jacksonville 28-3
Yuck. Just yuck.

Indianapolis @ Denver 27-13
On my way back from Raleigh I got to listen to the whole game…. The 2.5 hr trip turned into a 4+ hr trip when my transmission decided it didn’t want to work anymore. My truck is dead (I got home safe) but at least the Colts won at Denver so the weekend wasn’t a total bummer.

Oakland @ Arizona 23-24
Wow games don’t get much closer than this one. I would have liked to see the Raiders win but you don’t always get what you want. Tragic day for Oakland’s kicker missing the field goal to lose the game.

San Diego @ Seattle 20-27
Well Seattle won the game and that’s what I wanted, but really I couldn’t care much either way.  Except San Diego cost me another loss in fantasy.

New York Jets @ Miami 31-23
I guess I got spoiled growing up in NY because we have 3 football teams. So as long as at least 1 NY team wins it’s an ok weekend. But when they all lose its bad news bears. Thanks J-E-T-S for representing NY this weekend.

Green Bay @ Chicago 17-20
OK bears its been fun saying DA BEARS and I’m glad you won this game but I will not be saying DA BEARS next week unless its followed by “NEED TO LOSE”

WEEK 4

New York Jets @ Buffalo
The Jets are flying high after beating the Patriots in week 2 and the Dolphins last week.  Buffalo on the other hand, well, they are 0-3. I’d like to see both NY teams win this game but that just can’t happen.  I’m pretty sure the Jets will win this one but I don’t want to see another NY team go 0-4 so…. GO BILLS

Cincinnati @ Cleveland
Another in state game. I am really hoping that Cleveland can win this one at home. Like the Bills, the Browns don’t need to go 0-4

Baltimore @ Pittsburgh
As much as it pains me to say it both teams have fantastic defenses.  I’m hoping that Pittsburgh will be so excited to have there QB back in week 6 that they will not be able to focus on this game against Baltimore. Furthermore, I do NOT want to see the Steelers go 4-0 therefore they need to lose.

Denver @ Tennessee
Ok here’s the breakdown.  Tennessee is in the same division as the Colts and there is a 3-way tie for first place between them and the Texans.  Therefore, the Titans have to lose this game and the Texans have to lose their game while the Colts need to win.
I really have nothing against these teams personally as long as they all lose while the Colts win. So GO DENVER.

Detroit @ Green Bay
I am Switzerland to both these teams.  I have no ill thing to say about either of them.  But for my Detroit fan friends (yes I have friends who are still Detroit fans) I am pulling for the Lions. May they not go 0-4.

San Francisco @ Atlanta
I really don’t see the 49ers winning this one after coming off a miserable loss against the Chiefs. Also the Falcons are flying high after their OT win against the Saints. I will be very much surprised if Atlanta loses this one.

Carolina @ New Orleans
Carolina doesn’t even have a chance. They will go 0-4. I mean Detroit has a better chance of going 1-3 this week than the Panthers do of going 1-3.  On a good note if the Panthers continue to do horribly this season John Fox will be out and Bill Cowher will most likely be the new head coach. Let the rumors fly!

Seattle @ Saint Louis
I think that the Rams are going to win this one. Both are coming off wins from last week but I think with St. Louis playing at home that will give them the extra push they need to win. When I was little my dad taught me about football and I remember calling the Rams the bumblebees because their helmets look like bumblebees to me.  Soooo GO BUMBLEBEES!

Indianapolis @ Jacksonville
Jacksonville had a humiliating loss at home last week against the Eagles and I don’t think it’s going to get any better for them this week. Even though the Colts have more than a couple of guys out this week I can’t see them losing to Jacksonville. GO COLTS! (I won’t have to listen to this game on my phone because I get it down here! Soooooo excited)

Houston @ Oakland
You know my stance on this. Houston needs to lose this week. And Oakland is coming off a tragic, close loss with a missed field goal against the Cardinals last week. Oakland has to win this.

Washington @ Philadelphia
This is going to be a great game to watch. (And I will be watching it because I get it down here in Charlotte!) I hope McNabb and the Redskins rip the Eagles to shreds. Then I want them to take the feathers from the ripping and shredding and make pillows out of them for the Redskins fans to sit on while they re-watch the massacre over and over and over again.  GO McNabb!

Arizona @ San Diego
San Diego is hurting. They really need this win and what better time to win than at home.  Go CHARGERS!

Chicago @ New York Giants
Oh man. To be a Giants fan in these times is rough. Listening to the game last week was bad enough, seeing the “highlights” was nauseating. The Giants need to GET. IT. TOGETHER. No more losing. Pull it together G-Men and win.  Da bears need to lose this one. Dear Giants please, please, please, please, please, give Chicago their first loss of the season and keep Coughlin as your head coach, the alternative is terrifying. Keep John Fox out of your house don’t make him the head of it!  (I get to watch this game too in the comfort of my home. Make me happy!) GOOOOOO GIANTS!!!!!!!

New England @ Miami
Bring on the hurt Miami. Bring it! I mean the Pats almost lost to the BILLS at home! Now they are coming to your house.  Go squadron! Do good!  Beat the opponents soundly in the skirmish!

I love football! Enjoy!
GO COLTS AND GO GIANTS!!!!!!!!!!!!
