Regular Season Week 17

Happy Holidays to all who celebrate! Happy Hanukkah! Happy Kwanzaa! Merry Christmas! And Happy New Years while we’re at it!

We’ve got football on Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday!

I went 12-4 on my picks last week and I’m fighting for 5th place with “CMC Ya Next Season” and settled for 7th place with “Won’t You Be My Nabers”.

Let’s jump into the recap.

Broncos @ Chargers 27-34

If you get a chance, watch the press conference with Jim Harbaugh that he did after this game. Obviously he was happy with the win but he was particularly jazzed about one specific play. At the end of the first half, the Chargers fair caught a punt from the Broncos. Due to an interference penalty from the Broncos, the Chargers received one untimed down at the end of the half, and Jim knew just what play to call. A fair catch free kick. The unusual play allows a team to attempt a field goal from where they received a fair catch while the opponent is not allowed to rush the kick. Chargers kicker Cameron Dicker, successfully made a 57-yard free kick, the longest free kick in NFL history. Free kicks are rarely attempted. The last one attempted was a 60-yarder attempted by former Carolina Panthers kicker Joey Slye in 2019. Prior to Dicker's kick on Thursday, the last made kick was former San Diego Chargers kicker Ray Wersching in 1976. One of the recently attempted free kicks was by Harbaugh when he was the head coach of the San Francisco 49ers in 2013. That’s all I really had to say about that game.

Texans @ Chiefs 19-27

The Chiefs 14-1 record doesn’t reflect the team's performance until very recently. It's only been in the past two games that the Chiefs have had commanding wins. Should we be surprised? Probably not. I guess it’s just what the Chiefs do. They win. Mahomes didn’t seem to have any problems with his ankle that he supposedly had sprained just last week. Patrick had a rushing touchdown as well as a passing touchdown in this win over the Texans. Houston not only lost the game they also lost wide receiver Tank Dell to a devastating knee injury. Dell was taken to the hospital where he stayed overnight. There has been no update on whether or not he’ll return this season. I’m going with probably not.

Steelers @ Ravens 17-34

The Steelers would have clinched the division with a win but they couldn’t get it done in Baltimore. Now both teams are tied at 10-5 at the top of their division. The game was tied late in the 3rd quarter but then the Ravens went on a scoring spree to finish the game.

Rams @ Jets 19-9

I can’t believe I thought that Aaron Rodgers could have two consecutive good games. Silly me. At least I got the pick right. This wasn’t a pretty game. It was full of long drives ending in little scoring. I thought it would be a shoot out and it was more like a fizzle out type of game. With this win the Rams are still on the top of their division with playoff hopes alive. The Jets never had playoff hopes this season.

Eagles @ Commanders 33-36

Big deal game. A divisional game and a game that left the Eagles without their starting quarterback. I had picked the Eagles to win this game, but that was when I thought that Jalen Hurts would play the whole game. Hurts went out early in the first quarter with a concussion and Kenny Pickett replaced him as the backup. But, it was the Jayden Daniels show if you want to talk about quarterbacks. Daniels had 5 touchdowns in this win over their division rivals. We just happened to be out running errands and got to hear the last couple of minutes of this game on the drive home. It was EPIC. The local radio announcers for the Commanders were very entertaining. With just six seconds left in the game Daniels found Jamison Crowder for the winning touchdown, stunning the Eagles and bringing joy and happiness to the hometown crowd.

NY Giants @ Falcons 7-34

I’m not gonna lie, I didn’t watch the game. I really have nothing to say about this game either. I will say I’m kicking myself for not starting the Falcons defense in fantasy. I kept the Denver defense in my starting lineup. They got me 2 points. Had I switched to the Falcons defense I could have had 26 points. Oh well. If nothing else, we boosted the confidence of Micheal Penix Jr. Even though he didn’t have a touchdown pass, and he threw an interception, he wasn’t the worst quarterback on the field. Drew Lock had two pick six’s. SMH

Cardinals @ Panthers 30-36 OT

The Panthers have twice as many wins as the Giants. That stings a little bit. Carolina scored first with a Chubba Hubbard rushing touchdown. The Cards answered back in the second quarter with a field goal then Carolina went on a scoring spree. The Cards answered back with a spree of their own. The rest of the game was back and forth scoring. Cardinals kicker, Chad Ryland, kicked a 58 yard field goal to send the game into overtime. Chubba Hubbard put a book end to the day with a 21 yard rushing touchdown to end the game.

Browns @ Bengals 6-24

With this Bengals win, their playoff hopes are still alive. They’ll need a lot of help but they have not been eliminated as of yet. They’ve won their last three and they’ll need to win out the rest of the season and still get help from other teams. So you’re saying there’s a chance? Not a lot went right for the Browns, but Myles Garrett had reason to celebrate. Garrett recorded his 100th sack of his career in the second quarter of the game. Myles has 12 sacks this season, joining Lawrence Taylor as the only players with 12 or more sacks in five straight seasons.

Titans @ Colts 30-38

I played my mom this week in the consolation bracket for seventh place in the league. You already know I didn’t put my best defense in my line up. Well, to add insult to injury my mom started Jonathan Taylor. Taylor had 218 yards and 3 rushing touchdowns in this win over the Titans. Taylor had been averaging like 7 points a game this season. He had 39.8 fantasy points in this outing. Cool.

Lions @ Bears 34-17

The Lions, now 13-2,  broke a tie with the 1991 and 2023 teams for the most wins in franchise history. The Lions also set a single-season record for scoring with 493 points, and they improved to 7-0 away from home, a franchise record for road wins. Keep winning Detroit!

Vikings @ Seahawks 27-24

The Seahawks only had the lead for about 30 seconds in the entire game and that came in the fourth quarter. The problem was, the Vikings got the ball back and Sam Darnold found Justin Jefferson, who found the endzone for the win.

Patriots @ Bills 21-24

The Bills definitely looked past this game and had to recalibrate during half time. The Patriots were up by two touchdowns in the second quarter before the Bills decided to score. After the half, the Bills shut the Patriots out in the third quarter and added two scores to the board. The Bills first tied the game in the third and then went up by a field goal. Buffalo scored again to start out the fourth quarter and the Patriots answered back late in the game but they couldn’t get the ball back again to upset the home team. Thank god. The Bills were lucky to win this one.

Jaguars @ Raiders 14-19

Dear Raiders, thank you for winning this game. Giants fans needed this. Thanks. Love, Shenoa. PS you can have Shedeur Sanders.

49ers @ Dolphins 17-29

The 49ers were eliminated from the playoffs before this game started with wins from the Rams and Commanders.  With this win, the Dolphins still have a slim chance of making it to the postseason. They’ll need to win out as well as get help from losses by the Broncos and Chargers to make it to the postseason. I don’t have high hopes for the Dolphins, but I’m glad they got this win and I’m glad this game was kind of high scoring because it helped me in my fantasy matchups.

Buccaneers @ Cowboys 24-26

The Bucs don’t control their destiny to get into the playoffs but they still have a chance. The Commanders ruined the Cowboys chances of the playoffs by beating the Eagles earlier in the day. Thanks Washington! Even with this loss the Bucs are still tied with the Falcons at the top of the NFC South. The problem is, the Falcons have beaten the Bucs twice this season so they have the edge. Regardless, I got this pick wrong and that makes me mad.

Saints @ Packers 0-34

The Saints became the first team this season to be shut out. I’m just surprised it wasn’t the Giants. The Packers played a close to perfect game. So much so, they were starting to rest players at the beginning of the third quarter.

WEEK 17

Wednesday, December 25th

Chiefs (14-1) @ Steelers (10-5) (1pm Netflix)

Both teams have already clinched a spot in the playoffs so now they are just playing for seeding. If the Chiefs keep winning they could get home field advantage as well as a first round bye. The Steelers are also playing for positioning. I think that the Steelers might just be the team to beat the Chiefs. I’m picking the Steelers to win. The Chiefs luck has to run out at some point.

Ravens (10-5) @ Texans (9-6) (4:30pm Netflix)

Both teams have already clinched a spot in the playoffs so now they are just playing for seeding. I’m pretty sure that the Ravens will win this game and that’s who I’m going to pick.

Thursday, December 26th

Seahawks (8-7) @ Bears (4-11) (8:15pm Prime Video)

The Seahawks haven’t been officially eliminated from the playoffs but it’ll be a steep battle to get in. The Bears have no chance at the postseason. I am picking the Seahawks to win this game.

Saturday, December 28th

Chargers (9-6) @ Patriots (3-12) (1pm NFLN)

The Chargers are also not quite eliminated and will need this win if there are any hopes of the postseason. The Patriots never had hope of a playoff trip. I am picking the Chargers to win this game.

Broncos  (9-6) @ Bengals (7-8) (4:30pm NFLN)

Neither team has been eliminated yet from the playoffs but both teams need to win this game to further their chances of making it. I’m picking the Bengals to win this game.

Cardinals (7-8) @ Rams (9-6) (8pm NFLN)

The Cardinals have already been eliminated from postseason contention and the Rams are playing for positioning. I’m picking the Rams to win this game.

Sunday, December 29th

NY Jets (4-11) @ Bills (12-3) (1pm CBS)

Dear Bills, Please do not look past this game. Play better than you did last week. Love, Shenoa.

The Jets never had a chance at the postseason and the Bills are looking for home field advantage and a first round bye. They’ll need help from KC to get these things. I already picked the Chiefs to lose on Christmas day so that should help the Bills. Also, I am picking the Bills to win this game! Go Bills!

Titans (3-12) @ Jaguars (3-12) (1pm CBS)

Just by looking at their records you know neither of these teams are playing for the postseason. They are now playing for draft order. I’m picking the Jags to win but only because they are the home team.

Panthers (4-11) @ Buccaneers (8-7) (1pm CBS)

Tampa Bay hasn’t been officially eliminated from the postseason yet but they need to win out and need help from other teams as well. I am picking the Bucs to win this game but can’t guarantee that’ll be enough to get them into the playoffs.

Raiders (3-12) @ Saints (5-10) (1pm FOX)

Neither team is making it to the playoffs and the Raiders should lose this game just to maintain a high draft placement. I am picking the Saints to win this game.

Cowboys (7-8) @ Eagles (12-3)  (1pm FOX)

Ugh. For the first time this season I guess I have to root for the Cowboys. They were eliminated from playoff contention last week but they can still play spoilers to their division rivals!

Colts (7-8) @ NY Giants (2-13)  (1pm FOX)

The Colts have technically not been eliminated from the postseason and will need a win to keep them alive. I think they can do it. I am picking the Colts to win this game. Fun fact, the Giants were the first team to be eliminated this season. Woot! We’re number 1 in something!

Dolphins (7-8) @ Browns (3-12) (4:05pm CBS)

The Dolphins haven’t been eliminated but will need a lot of help getting into the postseason. The good news is the Dolphins usually win when the other team doesn’t have a winning record. The bad news is the Dolphins usually lose when it's below 40 degrees. I think it all comes down to the weather in this game. It’s supposed to be in the 50s at kickoff…  I’m picking the Dolphins to win this game.

Packers (11-4) @ Vikings (13-2) (4:25pm FOX)

Both teams have made the playoffs and now are playing for positioning. The Vikings already beat the Packers once this season so now I think it’s the Packers turn to win. I am picking the Packers to win this game.

Falcons (8-7) @ Commanders (10-5) (8:20pm NBC/Peacock)

Neither team has officially made the playoffs yet but neither team has been eliminated either. The name of the game is to win. I am picking the Commanders to win this game!

Monday, December 30th

Lions (13-2) @ 49ers (6-9) (8:15pm ABC/ESPN)

The 49ers have already been eliminated from the playoffs and the Lions are playing for home field advantage as well as the potential for a first round bye. I am picking the Lions to win this game! Go Lions!

Regular Season Week 16

All I have to say is thank god the fantasy season is almost over. I mean, it’s really been over for me for a while now, but this should be the last week for one of my leagues that I have to set a stupid line up, only for my stupid players to underperform, or go out injured before getting any points, or be completely healthy and not get a target.  I went 14-2 on my picks last week. I’ve been killing it on my picks as of late, by the way, pat myself on the back. But I got knocked out in the first round of the playoffs with  “CMC Ya Next Season” and didn’t even make the playoffs with “Won’t You Be My Nabers”.

Let’s jump into the recap.

Rams @ 49ers 12-6

This game sucked. The 49ers are not the team they were last season, that’s for sure. Brock Purdy is playing more like Mr. Irrelevant. Also, there were NO touchdowns by either team in this game and Cooper Kupp had zero catches. Boo. This was one of just two picks I got incorrect.

Ravens @ NY Giants 35-14

Another plane with a message flew over the stadium before kick off. This time the message said, “MR MARA ENOUGH - WE WONT STOP UNTIL YOU FIRE EVERYONE” I really don’t know what else to say at this point. I guess…. Go Bills!

Jets @ Jaguars 32-25

I think it’s great that Davante Adams and Aaron Rodgers had a throwback to when they were good, type of game. Maybe it’ll be just enough to keep them both in NY so the team can suck for another year and take some of the focus off of the Giants. Wishful thinking. Anyway, the Jets found a way to win. Cool.

Cowboys @ Panthers 30-14

The Cowboys defense finally decided to step up and that was in the absence of Trevon Diggs, who had a season ending knee injury last week. For example, in the third quarter the Cowboys only allowed the Panthers offense to gain one yard. They also completely shut down Chuba Hubbard to 32 yards on 10 carries. Not cool.

Commanders @ Saints 20-19

The Saints had a chance to tie the game to send it into overtime but chose to try to win it instead. They had some help from the refs and a weird clock stoppage. As the Saints were trying to rush to the line of scrimmage after a first-down completion over the middle with 9 seconds left, the clock stopped for several seconds before starting up again. This gave Spencer Rattler time to spike the ball to stop the clock with 3 seconds remaining.  The Saints scored on the next play. An extra point would have sent the game into overtime so they went for the two point conversion and it failed. The Commanders got the win and the good luck it seems.

Bengals @ Titans 37-27

As far as I’m concerned, Joe Burrow kept getting the ball to the wrong Chase. He should’ve been feeding Ja’marr not Brown. Welp, there goes my fantasy playoff hopes. I needed Ja’marr Chase to have a really big game. That didn’t happen. Booo

Chiefs @ Browns 21-7

What do the Patriots, Giants, Raiders, and Chiefs all have in common this season? They are the only four teams this season to have yet to score more than 30 points in a game. Like I’ve been saying all year, the Chiefs are lucky SOB’s. But their luck may be running out. Even though the Chiefs won this game Patrick Mahomes suffered a high ankle sprain and may be week to week going forward.

Dolphins @ Texans 12-20

The Dolphins record since the beginning of 2023 versus teams with winning records is 2-10. That’s not good. Tua threw three interceptions in this loss as well as a fumble when he was hit on his blind side. With as many hits as that guy takes it’s amazing he even knows his name. Miami also had a very scary scene take place in the third quarter when receiver Grant DuBose was taken off the field on a stretcher after a helmet-to-helmet hit. DuBose remained in the hospital on Monday, but had movement in all extremities and was placed on injured reserve on Tuesday. So scary. I’m glad he’s made improvement.

Colts @ Broncos 13-31

My fantasy defense, the Broncos, had five takeaways including 2 interceptions, one of which was a pick six, 2 fumble recoveries, and 2 sacks on the day. The Colts were up by 10 points in the second quarter when everything fell apart. The Broncos, who now have a 9-5 record ended a seven-year stint of losing records and are on pace to get an AFC wild-card berth that would end a playoff drought dating to 2016.

Patriots @ Cardinals 17-30

I really just don’t understand why Arizona would draft Marvin Harrison Jr and then not get him the ball????!!!! Make it make sense! It’s so frustrating. Even Tim Boyle can find Malik Nabers.

Bills @ Lions 48-42

Josh Allen ran for two touchdowns in the first quarter and threw two touchdown passes in the second half, leading the Bills to victory and snapping the Lions' franchise-record 11-game winning streak. Jared Goff matched a career high by throwing five touchdown passes for the Lions but it just wasn’t enough to win the game. Goff's fifth TD pass came with 12 seconds left when he connected with Jameson Williams from 3 yards out, but the Lions couldn't recover the onside kick to set up a game-ending Hail Mary try. This was a very good, entertaining game and hopefully a preview of the Super Bowl! The Lions did suffer some season ending injuries from three key players DT Alim McNeill (knee), CB Carlton Davis (knee), and DB Khalil Dorsey (leg). Hopefully the rest of the team will be able to keep up the momentum needed to make it to February.

Buccaneers @ Chargers 40-17

Welp this was not the week to sit Baker Mayfield in fantasy. Oh well. This was a statement game for the Bucs. Mayfield had 4 passing touchdowns in this romp and the Bucs defense didn’t allow a score in the second half of the game.

Steelers @ Eagles 13-27

This game is the reason I was knocked out of the fantasy playoffs. My opponent, an Eagles fan, started Jalen Hurts and A.J. Brown. Hurts accounted for 3 touchdowns and his favorite receiver, Brown had over 100 receiving yards and a touchdown. Stupid jerks.

Packers  @ Seahawks 30-13

This game wasn’t even close. The Packers were the dominant team on both sides of the ball. Jordan Love threw for 229 yards and two TDs, both to Romeo Doubs, and the Packers broke Seattle's win streak. They also broke their quarterback. Geno Smith went out of the game in the 3rd quarter with a knee injury. He was replaced by Sam Howell, who had just one previous snap for Seattle. That pretty much ended the Seahawks chance of making a comeback.

Bears @ Vikings 12-30

I picked up Caleb Williams for this game specifically to hopefully win in fantasy. That was a big FAIL.  As crazy as this is to say, this Vikings win and the Lions loss ties both teams' records putting them at the top of the NFC North.

Falcons @ Raiders 15-9

Kirk Cousins may have thrown his last touchdown and last interception for the Falcons. They did just enough to win the game but not enough to keep Cousins the starting quarterback. After the game the decision was made to start rookie Michael Penix Jr. going forward.

WEEK 16

Thursday, December 19th

Broncos (9-5) @ Chargers (8-6) (8:15pm Prime Video)

Well, I guess it’s time to talk about the playoffs. Both teams have a chance at making the postseason. If the Broncos win this game they are in. According to the NFL, if they lose they would still have an 85% probability of making it with remaining games at Cincinnati on Dec. 28 and Kansas City in Week 18. If the Chargers win they could get in the postseason but it would also require losses or ties by Miami and Indianapolis. The Chargers were one of six teams not to have a Thursday game when the NFL schedule was released in May. Flexes in schedules have changed that obviously. The Broncos are the first team to have two road Thursday games immediately after a Sunday game since 1926. All that said, I am picking the Broncos to win this game.

Saturday, December 21st

Texans (9-5) @ Chiefs (13-1) (1pm NBC/Peacock)

After sustaining a high ankle sprain last week, Patrick Mahomes has been a full participant in practice early this week. I’m going to pick the Chiefs to win this game but like I say every other week, I wouldn’t be surprised if I was wrong.

Steelers (10-4) @ Ravens (9-5) (4:30pm FOX)

The Steelers always play the Ravens hard. The Steelers beat the Ravens when they met in Pittsburgh earlier this season. I think that the Ravens will win this time around but I think it’ll be a close one.

Sunday, December 22nd

Rams (8-6) @ Jets (4-10) (1pm CBS)

I’m toying with the idea of starting Aaron in one league. I mean I’ve already been knocked out of the playoffs. What else can go wrong? I think to keep up with Matt Stafford, A-Aron will have to throw the ball a lot. He found D’vante Adams a lot last week and he can probably do it again. I’m still picking the Rams to win this game. I just think it’ll be high scoring.

Eagles (12-2) @ Commanders (9-5) (1pm FOX)

Oh man. I am so rooting for the Commanders. Obviously, I hope they win, but I am picking the Eagles to win this game

NY Giants (2-12) @ Falcons (7-7) (1pm FOX)

I’ve lost track. I think we are back to Drew Lock as the starting quarterback of the Giants but honestly I’m not sure and I don’t think Daboll knows either. Lock is questionable heading into this game. Like I said earlier, the Falcons are going with their rookie QB over Kirk Cousins so Michael Penix Jr. will get the start. All that said, I’m picking the Falcons to win this game. Go Giants. Woo.

Cardinals (7-7) @ Panthers (3-11) (1pm FOX)

When did the newest Call of Duty game come out? I ask because I feel like Kylar Murray has been playing too much COD and not focusing on getting the ball to Marvin Harrison Jr. Yes, I’m beating a dead horse with this one. I’m picking the Cardinals to win, but wouldn’t be surprised if they Kylar’ed it up.

Browns (3-11) @ Bengals (6-8) (1pm CBS)

In the battle of Ohio I am picking the Bengals to win this game. For reasons unknown to me the Browns have benched Jameis Winston for Dorian Thompson-Robinson. Who? Like I said, I’m picking the Bengals to win this game.

Titans (3-11) @ Colts (6-8) (1pm CBS)

I’m picking the Colts to win this game.

Lions (12-2) @ Bears (4-10) (1pm FOX)

I’m pretty sure the Lions are going to bounce back from their loss last week. I am picking the Lions for the win.

Vikings (12-2) @ Seahawks (8-6) (4:05pm FOX)

The 12th man does not seem to be helping the Seahawks this season. Seattle is 3-5 at home. With Geno Smith questionable heading into this game I am picking the Vikings to win on the road. I would not be sad if they lost though.

Patriots (3-11) @ Bills (11-3)  (4:25pm CBS)

I’m picking the Bills to win this game. GO BILLS!

Jaguars (3-11) @ Raiders (2-12) (4:25pm CBS)

Dear Raiders, please win this game. Giants fans need this. Thanks. Love, Shenoa. PS I am picking the Raiders to win this game.

49ers (6-8) @ Dolphins (6-8)  (4:25pm CBS)

Tyreek Hill had a cryptic tweet this past Wednesday. “It’s time for me to go coach”  was all it said. The Dolphins do have a chance to win this game though because the 49ers are below .500 on the season and that seems to be the type of teams Miami can beat. That said, I’m picking the Dolphins to win but wouldn’t be surprised if I was wrong.

Buccaneers (8-6) @ Cowboys (6-8) (8:20pm NBC/Peacock)

I’ll be rooting for and picking the Bucs to win this game.

Monday, December 23rd

Saints (5-9) @ Packers (10-4) (8:15pm ABC/ESPN)

I will be picking the Packers to win this game.

BYES: NONE

Regular Season Week 15

It’s my birthday week!!!! And it happens to be on Friday the 13th! Hopefully that’ll give me all the good luck and let me get the win in both fantasy leagues!  I went 10-3 on my picks last week,  “CMC Ya Next Season” (7-7),  “Won’t You Be My Nabers” (5-9).

Let’s jump into the recap.

Packers @ Lions 31-34

This game was really fun to watch. Dan Cambell might just get coach of the year with all of his “winningness” and aggressiveness on fourth down conversions. The Lions went for it on fourth down five times throughout the game. The last time when they converted it allowed enough time for Jake Bates to kick the game winning field goal as time expired.

Saints @ NY Giants 14-11

Before the game even started there was a plane that flew above MetLife Stadium with a message to Giants owner John Mara. “MR MARA ENOUGH - PLZ FIX THIS DUMPSTER FIRE”. The day got better or worse from there depending on your point of view. For entertainment purposes it got better. The Giants had so many chances to win this game and, of course, didn’t. Their last chance to win was a field goal as time expired, but it was blocked. Giants fans in the stands actually cheered. One step closer to the number one pick of the draft with this loss.

Browns @ Steelers 14-27

The Browns only had a lead in the first quarter and it was basically all Steelers all the time for the last 3 quarters. Fun fact: With this win Pittsburgh avoided being swept by the Browns for the first time since 1988. Did that stat surprise you too? Russell Wilson had a good game. Jameis Winston and Dustin Hopkins, not so much. Winston threw two interceptions and Hopkins missed two makeable field goals.  This game should’ve been a lot closer.

Falcons @ Vikings 21-42

The next sentence will tell you all you need to know about this game. Sam Darnold threw five touchdowns and Kirk Cousins threw zero touchdowns and two interceptions.

Raiders @ Buccaneers 13-28

The Bucs had a good day. This win put them back on the top of the AFC South. The Raiders did not have a good day. They lost quarterback Aidan O'Connell to a knee injury that coach Antonio Pierce said “doesn't look good.” The Raiders have already been eliminated from the playoffs and are just trying to survive the rest of the season. They aren’t doing a good job of that either.

Panthers @ Eagles 16-22

Guys, the Panthers almost won this game. That would have been an amazing upset. I guess at least I got the pick right. Saquon Barkley rushed for 124 yards to break the Eagles season record. He’s living his best life. Wish he could have done it as a Giant.

Jaguars @ Titans 10-6

I got this pick wrong but it’s ok, the Jags win helps the Giants draft pick position. So thanks, Jacksonville! The Jags had already been eliminated from playoff contention but by winning they also eliminated the Titans.

Jets @ Dolphins 26-32 OT

Oh my god, my whole fantasy playoffs seemed to revolve around this game as I started both Jonnu Smith and De’von Achane. Jonnu Smith did not have a look/touch in the entire first four quarters!!!! AHHHHHHH! So glad it went into overtime. Overtime started and it was like the Dolphins remembered they have an amazing tight end in Smith. Tua fed Smith the ball as they marched down the field and it was Jonnu that scored the game winning touchdown in overtime. Yikes.

Seahawks @ Cardinals 30-18

Marvin Harrison Jr. has to be one of the biggest let downs in this draft class for fantasy purposes. Yet another game where he does basically nothing. Thanks a lot Kyler, yes it is your job to throw him the football. You are failing me too!  Thankfully Geno Smith knows how to find his wide receivers like Jaxson Smith-Njigba. Points! I need points!

Bills @ Rams 42-44

I got this pick wrong. Josh Allen passed for 342 yards and rushed for 82 yards. He also became the first player in NFL history with three passing TDs and three rushing TDs in a single game. But it wasn't enough to overcome Buffalo's 17-point deficit entering the fourth. The Bills 7 game winning streak was snapped. It was a tough loss for Bills fans, who are not used to losing, recently anyway. Fun fact:  The Rams and Bills combined for 902 yards of offense without a turnover or a quarterback sack.

Bears @ 49ers 13-38

The 49ers had the bounce back game that they so desperately needed but their backup-backup running back, Isaac Guerendo, left the game in the fourth quarter with a foot injury. The 49ers have already put running backs Christian McCaffery and Jordan Mason on IR and are pulling other RBs up from the practice squad. I’m glad they got the win but I just picked up Guerendo after Mccaffrey went down. Ugh.

Chargers @ Chiefs 17-19

Last week I said, “I’m picking the Chiefs to win this game and I’m sure it's going to be ridiculous like all their other wins.” And it was a pretty ridiculous win indeed. 3rd string kicker, Matthew Wright, doinked a 31-yard field goal off the left upright and it went through for another improbable win for the Chiefs. This win secured their ninth straight AFC West title. It was also their 15th straight win in a one-score game over the last two seasons.

The Chiefs have now had three different kickers make a game-winning field goal as time expired this season. No other team in NFL history has had more than one kicker do so in a single season. SMH

Bengals @ Cowboys 27-20

Big thank you to Ja'Marr Chase for getting me into the playoffs! The Cowboys were about to get the ball back with the score tied on the first play after the two-minute warning when Nick Vigil blocked a punt by Cincinnati's Ryan Rehkow. The Cowboys weren’t able to recover the ball so the Bengals took over. Chase caught the game winning touchdown  giving Dallas another home loss.  It’s nice seeing the Cowboys lose.

WEEK 14

Thursday, December 12th

Rams (7-6) @ 49ers (6-7) (8:15pm Prime Video)

Ugh. I need Isaac Guerendo to not be questionable. My fantasy playoffs depend on him. This is win or go home time in my leagues. Also, I need the 49ers defense to step up big time and not let Puka Nacua go crazy. My opponent’s team includes Puka and he has an already stacked team. This game will probably be high scoring and earlier this season the Rams won the matchup. I am going to pick the 49ers to win this game, mostly because that’ll help me more in fantasy.

Sunday, December 15th

Ravens (8-5) @ NY Giants (2-11) (1pm CBS)

Tommy DeVito will get the start for the Giants. I’m picking the Ravens to win. This game is going to be ugly.

Jets (3-10) @ Jaguars (3-10) (1pm FOX)

I mean, the Jets should win this game but they’ll probably find another way to lose. I’m picking the Jets to win. I’ll probably be wrong.

Cowboys (5-7) @ Panthers (3-10) (1pm FOX)

Well, I’ll be rooting for the Panthers and I’m hoping they upset the Cowboys. But, I’m picking the Cowboys to win this game.

Commanders (8-5) @ Saints (5-8) (1pm FOX)

Without Derek Carr I don’t think the Saints will win another game this season, I mean, they already played the Giants. I am picking the Commanders to win this game.

Bengals (4-8) @ Titans (3-10) (1pm FOX)

I’m picking the Bengals to win this game.

Chiefs (12-1) @ Browns (3-10) (1pm CBS)

How will the Chiefs find their improbable win this week? I’m picking the Chiefs to win this game but, again, I wouldn’t be surprised if they didn’t.

Dolphins (6-7) @ Texans (8-5) (1pm CBS)

I just need this game to be high scoring. I’m picking the Texans to win.

Colts (6-7) @ Broncos (8-5) (4:25pm CBS)

Neigh! That’s a horse joke. Get it? I’m picking the Broncos to win this game.

Patriots (3-10) @ Cardinals (6-7) (4:25pm CBS)

Please find Marvin Harrison Jr and throw him the ball!!!! I’m picking the Cardinals to win.

Bills (10-3) @ Lions (12-1) (4:25pm CBS)

We rarely get a Super Bowl preview in the regular season. I’m hoping to speak this into existence! I don’t want either team to lose! The Bills lost last week and that was heartbreaking. The Lions have only lost once this season and that’s pretty incredible, but their only loss did come at home. This will probably be a high scoring, close game. I don’t think it’ll be a blowout. I’m picking the Bills to win because they shouldn’t have two losses in a row. Go Bills!

Buccaneers (7-6) @ Chargers (8-4)  (4:25pm FOX)

The Bucs are so beaten up right now that I think I’m going to have to pick the Chargers to win this game.

Steelers (10-3) @ Eagles (11-2) (4:25pm FOX)

Come on Steelers! Beat the Eagles! Obviously, I’m rooting for the Steelers but I am picking the Eagles to win in the hopes I am wrong!

Packers (9-4) @ Seahawks (8-5)  (8:20pm NBC/Peacock)

I’m picking the Packers to win this game. It should be a close game and a fun game to watch.

Monday, December 9th

Bears (4-9) @ Vikings (11-2) (8pm ABC-ESPN+)

I need this game to be high scoring and I need Caleb Williams to throw a lot of touchdown passes to DJ Moore. I am picking the Vikings to win but hoping for an upset.

Falcons (6-7) @ Raiders (2-11) (8:30pm ESPN)

Well, this should be an Easy win for the Falcons but I’m not going to hold my breath. It would be better for the Giants if the Raiders won this game. Pretty boring way to end week 15. Hopefully the other Monday night football game will be entertaining. What the heck, I’m picking the Falcons to win.

The Shenoa Report
December 8, 2024
Regular Season Week 14

Hello, last month of the year. Also sorry this is so last minute. If it weren't for the last minute, I’d have no time at all.  Week 14 brings Byemagedon Part II. With six teams on their bye. Fantasy will be so fun this week! That’s sarcasm. I went 13-3 on my picks last week,  “CMC Ya Next Season” (6-7),  “Won’t You Be My Nabers” (5-8).

Let’s jump into the recap.

Bears @ Lions 20-23

This game was too close for comfort and the Lions squeaked out a win, but just barely. Pun intended. The Bears had the ball in Lions territory late in the game with a chance to drive for a game tying field goal or go ahead touchdown, but they blew the opportunity.

Caleb Williams threw an incomplete pass as time expired from the Detroit 41 after being sacked with about 30 seconds left, allowing time to run off the clock even though Chicago had one more timeout. Sorry Bears fans, I understand bad coaching and bad clock management as a Giants fan. Chicago has lost six straight, including four by a total of 10 points. That hurts. Head coach Matt Eberflus was fired the next day.

The Lions on the other hand, have their best record after 12 games in team history and their 10-game winning streak ties a franchise record with the 1934 squad. Go Lions!

NY Giants  @ Cowboys 20-27

It took over 300 days but the Cowboys finally got their first home win since last season. You’re welcome. The Giants lost Dexter Lawrence and Theo Johnson to season ending injuries during this game. Our quarterbacking is even worse somehow and we lost to the Cowboys. Happy Thanksgiving.

Dolphins @ Packers 17-30

The Dolphins have lost their past 12 regular-season or postseason games in which the temperature at kickoff has been below 40 degrees. It was 27 degrees at kickoff with 10 mph winds, light flurries and a wind chill of 18. The Packers were right at home. They got this win easily and they didn’t look that cold. The Dolphins are probably still trying to warm up.

Raiders @ Chiefs 17-19

Dude. Every week I say the Chiefs are the luckiest SOBs in the NFL. The Raiders were in field goal range with 15 seconds left in the game. But, rather than try for the winning field goal ( Kicker Daniel Carlson had missed three from 50-plus yards ) the Raiders lined up to run a play, hoping to gain a few yards with a throw to the sideline before time expired. Instead, rookie center Jackson Powers-Johnson snapped the ball when quarterback Aidian O'Connell wasn't expecting it, and it bounced off the QB's shoulder. Chiefs linebacker Nick Bolton pounced on it, and the recovery stood when a flag on the play turned out to be an illegal shift by the Raiders. Another lucky week for the Chiefs and another unlucky week for the Raiders.

Colts @ Patriots 25-24

Anthony Richardson is getting better. He used his arm and his legs to secure this win over the Pats. He threw a 3 yard touchdown pass to Alec Pierce with 12 seconds left in the game and ran for the go ahead 2 point conversion. The Patriots had a chance to win the game but Joey Slye missed a 68 yard field goal attempt as time expired.

Steelers @ Bengals 44-38

There should no longer be a quarterback controversy in Pittsburgh. Russell Wilson threw for a season-high 414 yards and three touchdowns in this win over the Bengals. Hey Justin Fields, want to play for the Giants?

Chargers @ Falcons 17-13

This was definitely not the “get right” game the Falcons needed. This was more like, “do we really have to stick with Kirk Cousins” kind of game. Cousins threw four interceptions and zero touchdowns in this loss to the Chargers. It wasn’t a pretty game.

Seahawks @ Jets 26-21

You know I played my partner in both fantasy leagues this week. I’m awful at fantasy football this season so of course my partner is in 2nd place in both leagues. He has Davante Adams on one of his teams and he asked if he should start him. I said, with Aaron Rodgers throwing the football? I wouldn’t! So, of course Rodgers threw to Adams a million times it seemed. Aaron had moments of brilliance this game but he still threw an interception and that’s what I’m going to key in on.  Leonard Williams, Seattle's 6’5”, 310lb defensive end, intercepted Rodgers pass and took it 92 yards for the pick six. Williams became the first player since 1982 with multiple sacks (two), an interception-return TD and a blocked kick in a game. Williams’ interception return for a score was the longest in NFL history by a defensive lineman, according to ESPN Research. Also, Seattle won the game because of his efforts. Good job!

Texans @ Jaguars 23-20

This game will be remembered for linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair’s violent hit on Trevor Lawrence in the second quarter that prompted a sideline clearing brawl. Al-Shaair hit Lawrence with an elbow as the defenseless quarterback slid to the ground following a 6 yard scramble.  Al-Shaair was ejected from the game and apologized for this hit after the game saying he was already expecting to hit him before Lawrence gave himself up but his momentum was too much to stop the hit. It was ugly. After Lawrence left the game the Texans were able to get the win. The Jags were never able to regroup.

Cardinals @ Vikings 22-23

The Vikings won their 5th straight game. Their hero was Sam Darnold who threw a TD pass to Aaron Jones with 1:13 left to win the game. Of course I benched Marvin Harrison Jr to start Chubba Hubbard who got me a whopping 2.3 points while Harrison had 17 points on my bench. I’m sure when I start MHJ next week he’ll have 2.3 points.

Titans @ Commanders 19-42

Jayden Daniels had 4 total touchdowns on the day, 3 passing and one rushing. He did have an interception but the Titans didn’t put up much of a fight after that.

Buccaneers @  Panthers 26-23 OT

Baker Mayfield is killing me with interceptions in fantasy. I’m glad the Bucs won but I really needed the points. I already lamented the lack of points from Chubba Hubbard.

Rams @ Saints 21-14

I started Taysom Hill in the league that I lost in. I should have started Jonu Smith. I tinker too much with my line up. Hill was carted off the field with a season ending injury. The Saints are just decimated.

Eagles @ Ravens 24-19

Damnit Ravens! Fun fact though, Lamar has only lost to NFC teams twice in his career. Saquon Barkley has been a part of both of those losses.

49ers @ Bills 10-35

This was another snow game and it started out really fun. But the ending for the 49ers was not fun. The 49ers not only lost the game they also lost 2 running backs to season ending injuries, Christian McCaffrey and Jordan Mason. RIP my fantasy team. The Bills had one of their best days. Josh Allen became the NFL's first quarterback and seventh player in the Super Bowl era to score a touchdown passing, rushing, and receiving in the same game. On a play that should have ended in a tackle for a loss, Josh Allen tossed the ball to Amari Cooper, who caught it one handed bobbling the whole way. About to be tackled he pitched the ball back to Allen. Josh sprinted to the left corner of the end zone and dove past the pylon for the touchdown. In fantasy, this play would go down as a passing and receiving touchdown for Josh Allen, a 10.82 point play. It was ridiculous. And of course, my partner had started Allen in fantasy against me. Yeah This game is why I lost. He started Allen and I started McCaffrey. Woot! Go Bills!

Browns  @ Broncos 32-41

Even though the Browns lost this game both Jameis Winston and Jerry Judy had record breaking days. Winston threw for a franchise record 497 yards and four touchdowns.  Jeudy had a touchdown including nine catches for 235 yards  (the most in NFL history by a receiver against his former team) . I started the Broncos defense and wanted the game to be low scoring. Thanks to Winston, who threw two pick sixes, the Broncos defense had three total picks for 171 interception return yards against him. I won in the league where I started the Broncos defense.

WEEK 14

Thursday, December 5th

Packers (9-3) @ Lions (11-1) (8:15pm Prime Video)

I picked the Lions to win.

Sunday, December 8th

Saints (4-8) @ NY Giants (2-10) (1pm FOX)

The Giants will lose this game and the rest of the games this season. I picked up the Saints defense in fantasy and am starting them this week. Go g-men… I’m picking the Saints to win this game.

Browns (3-8) @ Steelers (9-3) (1pm CBS)

The Browns have already beat the Steelers once this season. They always play them well. I think this will be a close game but I do think the Steelers will win at home and that’s who I’m picking to win this game.

Falcons (6-6) @ Vikings (10-2) (1pm FOX)

Will Kirk Cousins throw to his team this week? Last week he had 4 interceptions and no touchdowns. I guess we’ll just have to see. I’m picking the Vikings to win this game.

Raiders (2-10) @ Buccaneers (6-6) (1pm CBS)

I’m picking the Bucs to win this game. I am just crossing my fingers that Baker Mayfield and Bucky Irving have a lot of fantasy points.

Panthers (3-9) @ Eagles (10-2) (1pm FOX)

Well, I’ll be rooting for the Panthers but picking the Eagles to win this game.

Jaguars (2-10) @ Titans (3-9) (1pm CBS)

Trevor Lawrence is out for the rest of the season for the Jags. I am picking the Titans to win this game.

Jets (3-9) @ Dolphins (5-7) (1pm CBS)

I’m picking the Dolphins to win this game and I’m expecting/needing a lot of fantasy points from Jonu Smith and De’von Achane.

Seahawks (7-5) @ Cardinals (6-6) (4:05pm CBS)

An Angry Birds game. Do you remember that game? Flinging birds into pigs? Anyway.

I just want this game to be high scoring with a lot of passes to Marvin Harrison Jr. and Jaxson Smith-Njigba. Points! I need points! I’m picking the Seahawks to win this game.

Bills (10-2) @ Rams (6-6) (4:25pm FOX)

I’m picking the Bills to win this game. Go Bills!

Bears (4-8) @ 49ers (5-7) (4:25pm FOX

This is probably going to be a very evenly matched game in which both teams are struggling. I’m going to pick the 49ers to win but only because they are home and the Bears are notorious for losing close games.

Chargers (8-4) @ Chiefs (11-1)  (8:20pm NBC/Peacock)

I’m picking the Chiefs to win this game and I’m sure it's going to be ridiculous like all their other wins.

Monday, December 9th

Bengals (4-8) @ Cowboys (5-7) (8:15pm ESPN)

I’m picking the Bengals to win, only because I don’t want to pick the Cowboys.

BYES: Ravens, Broncos, Colts, Patriots, Commanders, Texans

Regular Season Week 13

Happy Thanksgiving!

Week 13 will bring football on Thursday, Friday, Sunday, and Monday! Before we talk about the Thanksgiving games I want to brag and lament. For the first time this season I won in both leagues in fantasy. I beat my mom by 98 points in one league but it wasn’t enough. I was eliminated from the playoffs. I’m still kinda sorta in the mix for the other league but it’s not looking good. So you’re saying there’s a chance? I went 10-3 on my picks last week, which was very surprising. I thought I did so much worse.  “CMC Ya Next Season” (6-6),  “Won’t You Be My Nabers” (4-8). Week 13 is usually good to me and I’ll need all the luck I can get in my fantasy teams as I play my partner, the love of my life, in both leagues to finish the regular season. I’m projected to lose in both leagues. Cool.

Let’s jump into the recap.

Steelers @ Browns 19-24

This was the first snow globe game of the season and it did not disappoint. I should have picked the Browns. For some reason, as of late, when they play in Cleveland the Browns always beat the Steelers. It was a fun game to watch. Jameis Winston is a riot.

Buccaneers @ NY Giants 30-7

This game went as expected. The Giants are terrible and it’s safe to say that DJ wasn’t the only problem with the team. Speaking of Daniel Jones, the last time I wrote this blog he was still a Giant. Then the timeline took a turn. On Nov. 18  Daniel Jones was benched and Tommy DeVito was named the starter. Nov. 19: Dexter Lawrence publicly disagrees with benching. Nov. 20: Drew Lock is confused as to why he wasn't named starter. Nov. 21: Daboll responds to Lawrence's public comments and Giants play Jones at safety on the scout team. The same day DJ releases a statement, basically saying goodbye. Nov. 22: Giants grant Daniel Jones his release request.

Now back to the game on Nov. 24. Tommy DeVito didn’t even look Malik Nabers' way in the entire first half of the game. Zero targets. Zero looks. It’s fair to say that Daboll has lost the locker room. Even Dexter Lawrence, the rah rah go Giants hype man, said we played like shit. I’m just thankful the season is almost over and we can put this dumpster fire to bed. I’m glad the Bucs had fun stomping the Giants. I have no malice towards Baker Mayfield who celebrated his rushing touchdown with the Tommy Cutlet hand gesture. I like Baker, after all I started him in my fantasy team. I’m just kicking myself for not starting Bucky Irving as well. Next week Bucky, next week. Good win Bucs. SMH Giants. Is the season over yet?

Chiefs @ Panthers 30-27

I still think the Chiefs are the luckiest team in the NFL. I mean, the Panthers almost beat them! The Panthers? Mahomes is playing more like his former self, which is good. I’m not sure what is happening with the rest of the team though. The Panthers have had a few games now that they’ve come close to winning. At least they are trying, that’s more than I can say for the Giants.

Cowboys @ Commanders 34-26

This game was bananas. With just 6 minutes left in the 4th quarter the score was 13-9 Cowboys. A lot happened late in the fourth. Luke Schoonmaker caught a TD pass from Cooper Rush. Then, with 3 minutes and 2 seconds to go the Commanders tight end Zach Ertz caught a touchdown pass from Jayden Daniels, who then ran for a successful two-point conversion. 13 seconds later the Cowboys KaVontae Turpin returned a 99 yard kickoff for a touchdown with a Brandon Aubrey extra point. The Commanders fired back with a field goal by Austin Seibert. Washington then stopped Dallas on defense and with 21 seconds left in the game Terry McLaurin caught a 86 yard touchdown pass from Jayden Daniels but the Austin Seibert PAT failed. The Cowboys got the ball back with roughly 12 seconds to go and Juanyeh Thomas scored the game winning touchdown with a 43 yard kickoff return. Like I said, bananas. I got this pick wrong.

Patriots @ Dolphins 15-34

Dude. I am so glad I picked up Jonnu Smith. He is definitely a relevant tight end and that’s saying something in this league.  Between him and De’Von Achane my fantasy points kept climbing. Smith had one receiving touchdown while Achane had two! Hooray for points. The Patriots on the other hand just want the season to be over so they can stop losing.

Titans @ Texans 32-27

I’m pretty sure the Texans just looked past this game and the Titans were prepared and took advantage of this. I know I got this pick wrong but with the Titans winning and the Giants losing it means the Giants have a better chance at getting a higher draft pick next season. So, yay!

Lions @ Colts 24-6

Uncharacteristically, the Lions trailed the whole first quarter. In fact they didn’t score any points until the second quarter, and at that point the game was won. The Lions ran all over the Colts, quite literally. All of the Lions touchdowns were rushing TDs. Jared Goff didn’t have a passing TD in this lopsided win.

Vikings @ Bears 30-27 OT

Man! This is what I predicted last week, “This is another divisional game in which I think the Vikings will win, but I hope the Bears figure out how to throw to D.J. Moore much more,” and both came true! Moore was finally relevant! And the Bears lost another super close game.

Broncos @ Raiders 29-19

Bo Nix passed for 273 yards and had two touchdowns to break Denver’s rookie record while the Raiders quarterback Gardner Minshew landed hard on his left shoulder late in the game and was replaced by Desmond Ridder. Minshew will miss the rest of the season with a broken collarbone, according to multiple reports. The Raiders (2-9) have lost seven consecutive games, its longest skid since the 2017-18 seasons. Ouch.

49ers @ Packers 10-38

The 49ers seem completely lost without their quarterback Brock Purdy under center. It’s also hurting my fantasy team. Deebo and McCaffrey under performed in this loss. The Packers running back Josh Jacobs ran all over the 49ers racking up 3 rushing touchdowns.

Cardinals @ Seahawks 6-16

This was a pretty boring game and another game in which Kylar Murry forgot about Marvin Harrison Jr. So frustrating! The game didn’t get exciting until Coby Bryant returned an interception 69 yards for a touchdown in the 3rd quarter. I was happy that Jaxon Smith-Njigba caught a touchdown pass in the first quarter, it helped me in fantasy, unlike MHJ.

Eagles @ Rams 37-20

Saquon Barkley had his best game to date and set a personal record AND the Eagles franchise record with 255 yards rushing and 2 TDs. Both rushing touchdowns were in the second half of the game and came on runs of 70 and 72 yards. He finished with 46.6 fantasy points for me! Even with his stellar performance this season it wasn’t enough for me to make it into the playoffs in my one fantasy league. Barkley had 302 total yards,  becoming the 12th player in NFL history to top 300, and the first Eagles player ever. He also became the first NFL player with two 70-yard TD runs in a game since Maurice Jones-Drew did it in 2009. Fun fact, or not so fun fact if you’re a Giants fan, Saquon had more total yards in this game than the entire Giants team this week.

Ravens @ Chargers 30-23

Brothers Jim and John Harbaugh faced off again as coaches in the NFL and John  improved to 3-0 in the Harbaugh Bowl. The last time the two faced off it was  Super Bowl 47 where the Ravens beat the 49ers. It must be hard to continually lose to your older brother. Maybe next time Jim. It was definitely an entertaining game, and one that I stayed up till the very end to make sure I won in fantasy. I did. By 4 points. Phew.

WEEK 13

Thanksgiving Day - Thursday, November 28th

Bears (4-7) @ Lions (10-1) (12:30pm CBS)

The Detroit Lions have played on Thanksgiving 84 times so far, the most in Thanksgiving history. Their record on this day is 37-45-2. The Bears have played 37 times and their record on this day is 20-15-2. The Bears played annually from 1920-38 on Thanksgiving but haven’t played on this day since 2021. I’m rooting for and picking the Lions to win this game. I also picked them last year as they were having an equally incredible year. They lost. I hope they win this year.

NY Giants (2-9) @ Cowboys (4-7) (4:30pm FOX)

The Cowboys have played on Thanksgiving 56 times so far, the second most in Thanksgiving history. Their record on this day is 33-22-1. The Giants have played 16 times and their record on this day is 7-6-3. NY hasn’t played on Thanksgiving since 2022. I’m rooting for the Giants, duh, but would be happy with a tie.  I’m picking the Cowboys for the win. Drew Lock will start for the Giants. Good times. Hey Drew, look, you wanted to be the starter and now you are, so find Malik Nabers early and often. It’s the not so secret way to actually win a game or at least score some points. Obviously I don’t have high, nay, any hope for this team. But it would make my day to have the dumpster fire Giants beat the equally bad Cowboys on Thanksgiving in Jerry World with Jerry Jones pouting at the end. This is my Super Bowl. Go G-MEN. Do something.

Dolphins (5-6) @ Packers (8-3) (8:20pm NBC)

The Packers played their first Thanksgiving game in 1923. They’ve played 37 total games and their record on this day is 15-20-2. They played last year. The Dolphins first Thanksgiving game was in 1973. Their record is 5-2 on the day but they haven’t played since 2011. I’ll be rooting for my fantasy players but picking the Packers to win this Thanksgiving. The Dolphins rarely do well under 40 degrees and it's going to be a balmy 28 degrees at gametime.

Friday, November 29th

Raiders (2-9) @ Chiefs (10-1) (3pm PRIME VIDEO)

This will be a trap game or a blow out. It also could be close I suppose. Heck, with the Chiefs you just never know. A Raiders win would help the Giants get a better draft pick because I’m already assuming that they’ll lose to the Cowboys on Thanksgiving. With all that said I am picking the Chiefs to win this game.

Sunday, December 1st

Colts (5-7) @ Patriots (3-9) (1pm CBS)

Neither team is actually good. I am picking the Colts to win this game because they are marginally better.

Steelers (8-3) @ Bengals (4-7) (1pm CBS)

This should be a good game. Really, I just hope it’s high scoring. I need all the points I can get in fantasy. I am going to pick the Steelers to win this game.

Chargers (7-4) @ Falcons (6-5) (1pm CBS)

This feels like it could be a get right game for the Falcons. So I am picking Atlanta to win on Sunday.

Seahawks (6-5) @ Jets (3-8) (1pm FOX)

I’m picking the Seahawks to win this game.

Texans (7-5) @ Jaguars (2-9) (1pm FOX)

The Texans also need a get right game and I think they’ll get the W against the Jags.

Cardinals (6-5) @ Vikings (9-2) (1pm FOX)

Daniel Jones is now a Viking. Don’t worry, Sam Darnold is still their starting quarterback.

I think the Vikings will win this game, and that’s who I’m picking, but I need this game to also be high scoring with Marvin Harrison Jr. actually getting targets and points.

Titans (3-8) @ Commanders (7-5) (1pm CBS)

I’m picking the Commanders to win this game.

Buccaneers (5-6) @  Panthers (3-8) (4:05pm FOX)

I’m starting Baker Mayfield in fantasy so I need the Bucs to win and that’s who I am picking.

Rams (5-6)  @ Saints (4-7) (4:05pm FOX)

It really depends on which version of which team shows up. These are basically the same team. I am picking the Saints to win this game but only because they are the home team. I’m pretty sure I’ll get this pick wrong.

Eagles (9-2) @ Ravens (8-4) (4:25pm CBS)

For the first time this year I’m actually rooting for the Ravens and picking them to win this game.

49ers (5-6) @ Bills (9-2)  (8:20pm NBC/Peacock)

As much as I need Brock Purdy to be better, he’s still questionable to play.  I also need Deebo Samuel and Christian McCaffrey to put up massive points for me in fantasy. I am still picking the Bills to win this game. Go Bills!

Monday, December 2nd

Browns (3-8) @ Broncos (7-5) (8:15pm ESPN)

I’m picking the Broncos to win this game. Please be low scoring.

Regular Season Week 12

Week 12 brings Byemageddon Part 1 in fantasy football. With 6 teams on their bye this week, fantasy managers are scrambling.  I’m not scrambling though. Mostly because my teams just aren't good this season.  The best news of week 12 for me is that the Giants benched Daniel Jones in their bye week so it’s Tommy DeVito Time!  Hooray! A new, more entertaining way to lose games! But seriously, Daniel Jones was a class act. Like Eli Manning, he never complained, and when he got knocked down he got back up. He didn’t have an O line to protect him his first 5 years. He got knocked down a lot. Thanks Danny for being a Giant.

I went 11-3 on my picks last week and won in one league and lost in the other.  “CMC Ya Next Season” (5-6),  “Won’t You Be My Nabers” (3-8).

Let’s jump into the recap.

Commanders @ Eagles 18-26

Even with Saquon scoring back to back touchdowns in this win over the Commanders it wasn’t enough fantasy points for me to win in one league. This was a good competitive game to watch. It’s a shame Jayden Daniels has to play with a rib injury. He was so much better before he got hurt, and I think the Commanders would have won if he was healthy.

Ravens @ Steelers 16-18

Starting Russell Wilson this week in fantasy was a mistake. I’m glad they won the game but not happy about the lack of fantasy points from Russell.

Jaguars @ Lions 6-52

Fun Fact. This was the first game in NFL history that ended in this score. The Lions are dominating everyone. I’m glad to see they are finally having winning seasons constantly. It gives me hope for the Giants.

Rams @ Patriots 28-22

Well, I got this pick wrong. It’s my own fault. I forgot how bad the Patriots were. Oh well.

Browns @ Saints 14-35

I picked up Taysom Hill and started him in place of an injured Sam LaPorta this week. Man oh man am I glad I did that. Hill logged 42.52 fantasy points on 18 passing yards, 7 rushes for 138 yards, 3 rushing touchdowns, and 8 receptions for 50 yards. Had he not thrown an interception or fumbled the ball, he would have had closer to 50 points!  Not a bad pickup if I do say so myself.

Colts @ Jets 28-27

The Jets fired their GM after this loss. It’s bad. Let this be a lesson on listening to the wise words of Aaron Rodgers.  On the other side of the field, Anthony Richardson had his best game of the season. I guess when you get benched and you get the job back you show your team that you are happy to be back as a starter.

Vikings @ Titans 23-13

The Vikings did win this game, yes, but I don’t think that they are as dominant as they were at the beginning of the season. Also, the Titans are just really bad.

Raiders @ Dolphins 19-34

The Dolphins  are back in the win column but they are finding new ways to win games. Tyreek Hill hasn’t been the playmaker we were all accustomed to seeing. Instead it was their tight end Jonu Smith that stole the show. Smith had two receiving touchdowns in this win over the Raiders.

Packers @ Bears 20-19

I really didn’t think this game would be close or competitive. The Bears lost another heartbreaking game, this time to a division opponent. Packers Karl Brooks blocked Cairo Santos' kick from 46 yards as time expired to give Green Bay the win.

Falcons @  Broncos 6-38

I guess Kirk Cousins is only good the first part of the season. The Falcons are falling apart while the Broncos, led by rookie QB Bo Nix, continue to pick up steam. Nix had zero interceptions and 4 passing touchdowns to Cousins’ zero touchdowns and one interception day. Nix had his career best day by completing 85% of his passes for 307 yards and 4 touchdowns.

Seahawks @ 49ers 20-17

This is the third and last pick I got wrong last week. It wasn’t Geno Smith’s arm that led his team to victory, it was his legs. Smith scrambled then scurried his way into the endzone in the final seconds of the game to give the Seahawks an unlikely win. Smith may be a Golden State Warrior fan, or he really knows how to push buttons with the home crowd, because after his winning touchdown score he gave the iconic Steph Curry “night night” pose to the crowd. I’m a Steph fan and not a Geno fan and I believe in Karma. That’s all I’m saying.

Chiefs @ Bills 21-30

I did it! My prediction came true! I predicted that the Bills would end the Chiefs perfect season this game and they did! I even got a football call from my father after the game. We were both happy that the Bills won and decided, moving forward, we should probably just call each other on Bills wins rather than waiting for the Giants to win a game.  Josh Allen clinched the Bills win with a rushing touchdown with just over two minutes left in the game. This game has become quite the rivalry game and it did not disappoint. Unless you are a Chiefs fan… Go BILLS!

Bengals @ Chargers 27-34

The Bengals struggled to get the lead back all game after scoring the first points.  Ultimately, they failed to do so. The Chargers led by 21 points before the Bengals tried to make their comeback. It was just too little too late.

Texans @ Cowboys 34-10

Last week's excuse was the sun was in their eyes and that's why they lost the game. This week's game was a night game so what was the excuse? The sky is falling? Well part of the Cowboys stadium roof did fall before the game. Only one Texas team had a good night and it wasn’t the Cowboys. Texans RB Joe Mixon had 3 touchdowns in this romp over their in-state rivals. Also, the Texans never trailed while handing the Cowboys their 5th straight loss. Beautiful.

WEEK 12

Thursday, November 21st

Steelers (8-2) @ Browns (2-8) (8:15pm PRIME VIDEO)

The Steelers, historically, do not play the Browns well. This is always a fun matchup to watch. The last time these two met the Browns won 13-10 though the Steelers lead the series record 79-62-1. I think I’ll pick the Steelers to win this one.

Sunday, November 24th

Buccaneers (4-6) @ NY Giants (2-8) (1pm CBS)

If we’re lucky, which Giants fans aren’t, we’ll never have to watch Daniel Jones quarterback for the NY Giants ever again! Jones was benched last week during the bye week and Tommy Devito has been named the starter of the team with Drew Lock as the backup. It’s been interesting to hear all the talk that has surrounded this benching. I, for one, am eliated. You know what I think of DJ as a QB. I’m sure he’s a really nice, stand up guy. He’s strong and tenacious. He’s just not a good quarterback. According to reports, anonymous team members are furious at his benching. Dexter Lawrence has come out publicly saying DJ is the best quarterback on the team and doesn’t understand why he’s being benched. Love you Sexy, but have you not watched the tape? Ultimately Jones is being benched because, well one, he sucks, and two, money. If Jones were to continue to start and then get injured the Giants organization would owe him much more money if he couldn't finish the season. Jones has a $23 million injury guarantee in his contract. If he suffers a major injury that will prevent him from passing a physical in mid-March, the Giants will be on the hook for $12 million. Another $11 million would become guaranteed at the start of next season. The savings from cutting Jones this offseason would be wiped out if the injury guarantee was triggered. So, basically, the Giants are doing what the Broncos did to Russell Wilson. The only difference was Russell was good AND winning games for Denver. DJ, not so much.

Anyway. This game. Well, Mike Evans is supposed to be back in the lineup for the Bucs, which should help Baker Mayfield get back on track. I am picking the Bucs to win this game. Go G-MEN.

Chiefs (9-1) @ Panthers (3-7) (1pm CBS)

I think the Chiefs will get back on track this week and win against the Panthers.

Cowboys (3-7) @ Commanders (7-4) (1pm FOX)

The Cowboys are the only team in the NFL to have not won a home game yet this season. Welp, I’m sure they’ll lose to the Commanders on the road this week. I’m picking Washington to win this game.

Patriots (3-8) @ Dolphins (4-6) (1pm CBS)

I am picking the Dolphins to win this game. I could be wrong. Division rivals are always fun to watch.

Titans (2-8) @ Texans (7-4) (1pm CBS)

I’m picking the Texans to win this game. The Titans will continue to ride the struggle bus.

Lions (9-1) @ Colts (5-6) (1pm FOX)

I’m picking the Lions to win this game. If I haven’t said it yet, I am also predicting them to make it to the Super Bowl.

Vikings (8-2) @ Bears (4-6) (1pm FOX)

This is another divisional game in which I think the Vikings will win, but I hope the Bears figure out how to throw to D.J. Moore much more.

Broncos  (6-5) @ Raiders (2-8) (4:05pm CBS)

I’m picking the Broncos to win this game. It’d be nice if they didn’t allow the Raiders to score a single point. Yes, I am starting the Broncos defense.

49ers (5-5) @  Packers (7-3) (4:25pm FOX)

The 49ers lost last week. They need to get back on track. Also, I’m playing a big Packers fan in fantasy and he is starting what seems like the entire team. I am starting a lot of 49ers myself. The Packers have home field advantage which helps a lot in Green Bay. I think I’ll pick the Packers to win this game, but only because they are home.

Cardinals (6-4)  @ Seahawks (5-5) (4:25pm FOX)

It’s an angry birds game! I’m picking the Seahawks to win but I hope that Marvin Harrison Jr has his best day yet in the NFL. I need points, guys!

Eagles (8-2) @ Rams (5-5) (8:20pm NBC/Peacock)

I’ll be rooting for the Rams and hoping they can upset the Eagles, but I am picking the Eagles to win this game. I just hope I’m wrong.

Monday, November 25th

Ravens (7-4) @ Chargers (7-3) (8:15pm ABC/ESPN)

The Ravens have lost some super close games as of late. I think they will beat the Chargers this week.

BYES: Bills, Falcons, Jaguars, Bengals, Saints, Jets

GO G-MEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the edit Eric!
