Regular Season Week 15
Last week I forgot to mention my picks which were 10-4. This week I did WAY worse 7-8. But really I’m kinda ok with it. I picked the Giants to lose and they WON! I also won in fantasy so really, it’s ok. Yesterday was my birthday so I’m counting the Giants win on Monday night an early birthday present.
Week 15 will bring games on Thursday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday! Hooray for so much football!
Before we get into week 15 let’s recap week 14.
Patriots @ Steelers 21-18
The Steelers have imploded. I mean, they lost to the 2-10 Patriots at home! Bailey Zappe looked like Tom Brady throwing three touchdowns in this win over the Steelers. Mitch Trubisky only had one touchdown and forgot about his best wide receiver George Pickens. I already told you that I did horrible on picks. Yeah, I got this pick wrong.
Buccaneers @ Falcons 29-25
Yup, got this pick wrong too. Baker Mayfield didn’t throw an interception and had two clutch touchdowns in this win over the Falcons.
Colts @ Bengals 14-34
Another incorrect pick. The Colts just fell apart including Matt Gay the kicker who actually “netted” negative points for me in fantasy. Stupid. Now, a feel good story. Joe Burrow gifted backup quarterback Jake Browning his suite for the game so that Browning’s family could enjoy the game in style.
Jaguars @ Browns 27-31
I finally got a pick correct! Joe Flacco threw 3 touchdowns for the Browns to bring Cleveland to victory.
Texans @ Jets 6-30
Got this pick wrong too. But would you have picked the Jets? Nah. It was the Jets that embarrassed the Texans. Zach Wilson had two passing touchdowns and ZERO interceptions. Crazy. I know.
Rams @ Ravens 31-37 OT
It took overtime but I did get this pick correct. Tylan Wallace returned the punt for a touchdown on the first play of overtime to win the game. I was just happy to see OBJ score a touchdown again.
Lions @ Bears 13-28
I don’t know what’s wrong with the Lions but they’ve burned me in picks a few times now and I don’t like it. I don’t like being wrong and I thought I could count on Detroit. I guess I should’ve picked the Bears to win. Justin Fields had a rushing touchdown and connected with DJ Moore twice for two more scores. While Jared Goff was too busy throwing interceptions. Ugh.
Panthers @ Saints 6-28
I don’t know what I would have done if I had gotten this pick wrong. It seems like the Panthers are the only team I can count on to lose. Derek Carr had two touchdowns and an interception in this win over the Saints division rival. Alvin Kamara had a rushing touchdown and Jimmy Graham and Chris Olave had a receiving touchdown each. Even the Saints defense had a fumble return for a touchdown.
Vikings @ Raiders 3-0
I got this pick wrong too but here is the recap of the game. Punt. Punt. Punt. Punt. Punt. Punt. Missed FG. Punt. Punt. Half Time. Punt. Fumble. Punt. Punt. Punt. Punt. Punt. Punt. Punt. Punt. Field Goal. Interception. Punt. Fumble.
Seahawks @ 49ers 16-28
The Seahawks put up a fight but it wasn’t enough to get the win. It got pretty chippy at the end of the game. Both DK Metcalf and Deommodore Lenoir were ejected late in the fourth after a scuffle broke out between them. I don’t mind the fighting. It shows passion.
Bills @ Chiefs 20-17
Yeah, I got this pick wrong too. Sorry Bills fans, I really thought the Chiefs would win at home. It was a really close game. I know all Chiefs fans are going to hate me for this next sentence. The refs got the penalty on Kadarius Toney correct. He was WAY offsides. It shouldn’t be the ref’s job to make sure all the players are in place. That’s the player's job. It was an incredible play. A pass from Patrick Mahomes to Travis Kelce, which was then lateralled across the field to Kadarius Toney, for the 49-yard score to be called back by an offside penalty on none other than Toney himself. Had Toney lined up correctly the Chiefs would have won that game and I would’ve gotten the pick correct. If you’re going to blame anyone, blame Toney. It’s not the first time he’s drawn that penalty. He’s young and clearly doesn’t have the awareness. Hopefully he’ll learn from his mistake. Sorry not sorry.
Broncos @ Chargers 24-7
I got this pick correct! Unfortunately for the Chargers, Justin Herbert will be out the rest of the season due to the injury he sustained in this game. I think the Broncos would have won even with Herbert in the game. The Broncos have done a complete 180 from that Miami game. They’ve learned and are now very competitive.
Eagles @ Cowboys 13-33
I got this pick right too! One of my coworkers is a Cowboys fan. It’s been a long season. Anyway, I let him know I was rooting for the Cowboys for this game only and he almost fell over. The Cowboys looked good. It pains me to write that just so you know. It was a good game to watch and I was happy with the outcome, though a tie would’ve been better.
Monday night was fun! There were two games on and the Manning Cast attempted to Redzone both. I thought they were definitely more interested in the Miami game, I mean more than half their guests were Titans fans or former players, but it’s ok. I got both picks incorrect but I’m totally fine with the outcomes.
Titans @ Dolphins 28-27
The Titans were down two touchdowns with just 3 minutes left in the game. It was very unlikely that they were going to upset the Dolphins. The Miami defense was playing very well, until the last 3 minutes of the game. Titans quarterback Will Levis shook off his previous mistake which was a bad underhand lob that resulted in a fumble that gave Miami a two touchdown lead in the final 4 minutes of the game. Tennessee fought back and Levis connected with DeHop for a touchdown and their 2 point conversion was also good. The Titans defense then held the Dolphins to a 3 and out and got the ball right back with time for a two minute drill. The drill was successful and the Titans scored again with a Derrick Henry rushing touchdown. The Dolphins got the ball back with about 25 seconds left in the game but Tua was sacked and the game was over. The Titans ruined the Dolphins perfect home record and got the win.
Packers @ NY Giants 22-24
The Packers had been perfect in December under head coach Matt Laflore. I’m not going to lie. I really didn’t think the Giants would even be competitive during this game so I made plans to see “Waitress” with my friend and missed most of the first half. When I got into my vehicle after the show I searched for the game on the radio and did a double take when I saw the score was 7-7. When I was driving home I learned that Saquon had scored the Giants touchdown and I was happy. By the time I’d gotten home the Packers had scored a field goal and it was half time. I have an evening routine which includes riding my spin bike every night. I knew I was going to watch the game and peddle. When I got on the bike half time was over and the Giants had already scored again! The Giants defense had recovered a fumble and Saquon had his second rushing touchdown of the night and I missed it! I wasn’t sad though because the Giants were once again in the lead. The Packers answered back with a field goal. Then late in the third quarter Tommy DeVito threw a perfect pass to Isaiah Hodgins in the back corner of the endzone for another touchdown. It was a beautiful play. I felt really good about a win. Then the 4th quarter happened and I got a little agitated. With about 5 minutes left in the game the Packers scored another field goal. We got the ball back and Saquon had this amazing run… then fumbled the ball… talk about taking the air out of the stadium. I watched in horror. The Packers picked it up and were immediately in the red zone. No! This can’t be happening. Jordan Love threw a pass and it was caught but then batted away in the endzone. Was it a touchdown? Review said no. Phew. Then on 3rd down another pass this time to Malik Heath and it was called a touchdown on the field. I still don’t think it was an actual touchdown. Oh well. The Giants were now losing. The Packers went for 2 and the Giants defense stood their ground and wouldn’t let them convert. OK. Here we go. It was time for the 2 minute drill with less than 2 minutes in the game. It was Tommy Cutlets time. Tommy was perfect in this final drive. He hit Wan’Dale Robinson for a 5 yard gain then Saquon for a first down. He then hit Darius Slayton for 9 yards and then Robinson again for a 32 yard pickup! We were now in field goal range. With 3 seconds left on the clock Randy Bullock kicked a 37 yard field goal to give the Giants their THIRD WIN IN A ROW! Dude. It was awesome. Amazing. Everyone had their hands up in the air with the Tommy Cutlets hand gesture. 🤌 The fans went crazy. Tommy’s agent was hugging and kissing Tommy’s dad in the stands. It was the perfect end to a fantastic week and an early birthday present to me.
WEEK 15
Thursday, December 14th
Chargers (5-8) @ Raiders (5-8) (8:15pm PRIME VIDEO)
Herbert is out. Allen is out. I don’t see how the Chargers can win this game. I’m going to pick the Raiders for the win.
Saturday, December 16th
Vikings (7-6) @ Bengals (7-6) (1pm NFLN)
The Vikings could only put up 3 points last week so I think I’m going to go with the team that actually scored 30+ points. I’m picking the Bengals for the win.
Steelers (7-6) @ Colts (7-6) (4:30pm NFLN )
I think that the Steelers have hit rock bottom. I’m picking the Colts to win this game.
Broncos (7-6) @ Lions (9-4) (8:15pm NFLN)
Ok. I’m going to pick the Lions to win this game. But if they don’t, I don’t think I can pick them to win again this season. Come on Detroit! Bounce back!
Sunday, December 17th
Jets (5-8) @ Dolphins (9-4) (1pm CBS)
The Dolphins had an epic collapse on Monday night. This game has divisional consequences. The Jets could play spoilers. The Dolphins also need a bounce back game. I’m picking Miami for the win.
Texans (7-6) @ Titans (5-8) (1pm FOX)
I think that the Titans are going to continue to ride that high of winning on Monday night and will win this game at home.
Buccaneers (6-7) @ Packers (6-7) (1pm FOX)
Weather may have an impact on this game. The Packers are very used to practicing and playing in the cold, the Bucs, not so much. For this reason I am picking the Packers to win this game.
NY Giants (5-8) @ Saints (6-7) (1pm FOX)
I am definitely on this Tommy Cutlets bandwagon and am going to ride it as long as possible. I am back to picking the Giants to win. It’ll be a tough game but, as crazy as it sounds we are one game out of the playoffs. Let’s go G-MEN!
Falcons (6-7) @ Panthers (1-12) (1pm FOX)
This is a divisional game in which I am picking the Falcons to win.
Bears (5-8) @ Browns (8-5) (1pm FOX)
I think that this will be a good game. Like, I don’t see a blowout. I’m picking the Browns to win.
Chiefs (8-5) @ Patriots (3-10) (1pm FOX)
The Patriots love to play upset. They play tough and their record does not reflect that. The Chiefs better not look past this 3-10 team or they are going to lose another game they should have won. I’m going to pick the Chiefs to win, because they should, but at the same time I won’t be shocked if they don’t.
49ers (10-3) @ Cardinals (3-10) (4:05pm CBS)
The Cards are fresh off their bye but I don’t think it’s going to be enough to win against the 49ers. I’m picking San Francisco to win this game.
Commanders (4-9) @ Rams (6-7) (4:05pm CBS)
The Commanders are also fresh off their bye but I am still going to pick the Rams to win this game.
Cowboys (9-3) @ Bills (7-6) (4:25pm CBS)
Oh man. This is going to be a game. I hope the Cowboys look past this game because I don’t think the Bills have a chance otherwise. I want to see the Bills win and I’ll be rooting for them to do so. Hey crazier things have happened right. With that said I’m picking the Cowboys to win this game.
Ravens (10-3) @ Jaguars (8-5) (8:20pm NBC)
I think that the Ravens are going to win this game and that’s who I’m picking.
Monday, December 18th
Eagles (10-3) @ Seahawks (6-7) (8:15pm ABC/ESPN)
I hope the Seahawks bring their A game and keep this game competitive. I’m picking Eagles to win in this game of the angry birds.
GO G-MEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for the edit Eric!
