Regular Season Week 14

Week 13 definitely had its ups and downs for me. I annihilated my opponent in fantasy and even moved up one spot in the rankings. Unfortunately, I missed the playoffs by one spot. With that said I am going to celebrate week 13 and all my player‘s accomplishments in my recap. But moving on I’m probably not going to talk much about FF because the sting is real.

There were a lot of football injuries from last week that I’ll also touch on in the recaps.

After missing the playoffs I was pretty bummed and once again thought I really don’t know football. But then my partner asked if I could name the top 10 quarterbacks this season, based on total fantasy points, and I was able to do it! I only got one guess wrong! It’s the little things in life.

We are moving into week 14. Byes this week include the Cardinals and the Commanders.

Before we get into week 14 let’s recap week 13.

Seahawks @ Cowboys 35-41

This was an exciting game. It was back and forth with so much scoring. Neither team punted, for just the fifth time in NFL history. It was especially exciting because I started DK Metcalf and Zach Charbonnet. Metcalf had 134 receiving yards including a hat trick scoring 3 touchdowns and Charbonnet had 96 total yards and a rushing touchdown before he left the game with a knee bruise injury. By the end of the game my fantasy team had 54 points and I was well on my way to a winning week.

Chargers @ Patriots 6-0

Welp, this was a pretty ugly, boring game. The score says it all.

Cardinals @ Steelers 24-10

I thought the Steelers had turned over a new leaf, but I was wrong. Their struggles are real. I was shocked that the Cardinals won. This was one of the 4 games I picked wrong. But really, would you have picked the Cards to win? I started James Conner and he had two rushing touchdowns and 105 rushing yards and got me 22.5 fantasy points. Unfortunately I left Trey McBride on my bench and he racked up 22.9 points with 89 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Colts @ Titans 31-28 OT

I also got this pick wrong, but really it was a toss up. I wasn’t shocked. I mean, it had to go to overtime to be decided. I was happy that DeHop found the endzone and had 75 receiving yards. He got me 18.9 points but it wasn’t enough for the Titans to get the win.  The Colts have now won four in a row.

Broncos @ Texans 17-22

This was a sloppy game, but a good defensive game. The Broncos win streak came to an end. Russell Wilson didn’t have his best game, that's for sure. Anytime you throw more interceptions than touchdowns it’s not a good sign and that’s what Wilson did. My fantasy team and the Texans took a hard blow when Tank Dell went out of the game super early with a broken leg. It’s amazing that the Texans and I were able to win without him.

Lions @ Saints 33-28

Sam LaPorta also had an amazing game with 9 targets, 9 receptions, 140 receiving yards, one touchdown, and 29 fantasy points for me. It’s safe to say that the Lions bounced back. Jared Goff also had a much better game than his Thanksgiving game as he didn’t throw any interceptions.

Falcons @ Jets 13-8

This was another ugly football game. The Falcons did just enough to win the game but it wasn’t a bad thing that I started the Jets defense. They got me 11 points in fantasy as they sacked Desmond Ridder three times.

Dolphins @ Commanders 45-15

It's safe to say the Dolphins dominated Washington. In other news, Tyreek Hill is still a beast. I wish he was on my fantasy team. Hill had 2 touchdowns and 157 receiving yards.

Panthers @ Buccaneers 18-21

The Panthers played much better this week after the coach house cleaning last week. They didn’t win but that’s because they don’t have Mike Evens. Evens had an incredible game with 7 receptions, 162 receiving yards and a touchdown.

49ers @ Eagles 42-19

This was my favorite game of the week. I mean, look at that score. After the Championship game last season it must have been a nice revenge game for the 49ers. 9ers fans have always said that if Brock Purdy had finished that game last season they would’ve won. Fast forward to this season and the fans were correct. Some crazy things happened because emotions were so high. 49ers linebacker Dre Greenlaw and the Eagles chief security officer, Dom DiSandro, got ejected after a scuffle in the 3rd quarter. DiSandro pulled Greenlaw off DeVonta Smith after a reception. Greenlaw popped up and reached over two officials to touch DiSandro’s face with a closed fist. Personally, I think that Dom shouldn’t have touched Greenlaw in the first place. I also don’t think Greenlaw should have been ejected. I think that if Greenlaw had really meant to connect with DiSandro’s face it would’ve been a lot worse… Anyway, Brock Purdy threw for 314 yards and had four touchdowns, Deebo Samuel caught three of them. It was a great day for San Francisco fans and I am already looking forward to the rematch, which should come in the postseason.

Browns @ Rams 19-36

The Rams put on a clinic against the Browns. Matt Stafford had 3 touchdowns and zero interceptions. He was pretty much perfect. Joe Flacco did ok for the Browns, throwing a touchdown in the first and last quarter, it just wasn’t enough against LA.

Chiefs @ Packers 19-27

This game was dumb. The Chiefs have problems. They are clearly not the team they were last year. They just look awful. Thankfully, I’d already secured my fantasy win before this game had started because had I been relying on Patrick Mahomes to get any significant points I would have been sorely disappointed. Mahomes had just one touchdown and one interceptions. Jordan Love, however, had three touchdowns and no interceptions. That’s just stupid. Also the officiating was complete garbage. There were SO. MANY. BLOWN. CALLS. Ugh. I hate getting picks wrong and I hate when my fantasy players underperform.

Bengals @ Jaguars 34-31 OT

This game really took an injury turn for the Jags. I think they could have won the game and I could’ve gotten the pick right had Trevor Lawrence and Christian Kirk not left the game due to injury. Kirk had a groin injury very early in the first quarter and Lawrence left the game in the 4th quarter with a high ankle injury. I think if Lawrence hadn’t been injured the Jags would have won the game in regulation. That wasn’t the case. The Jags had to settle for a field goal just to send the game into OT where the Bengals ended up getting the win.

 WEEK 14

Thursday, December 7th

Patriots (2-10) @  Steelers (7-5)  (8:15pm PRIME VIDEO)

As bad as the Steelers are playing, the Patriots are playing worse. I’m picking the Steelers to win this game.

Sunday, December 10th

Buccaneers (5-7) @ Falcons (6-6) (1pm CBS)

The Bucs have already lost to the Falcons once this year when they played in Tampa. Now the Bucs are on the road and have only won 2 road games this season. I think I’m going to have to pick the Falcons to win this game.

Colts (7-5) @ Bengals (6-6) (1pm CBS )

The Colts have won 4 in a row and the Bengals got lucky last week. I’m going to pick the Colts to win this game.

Jaguars (8-4) @ Browns (7-5) (1pm CBS)

I think it's going to be tough for the Jags to get a win going forward without Trevor Lawrence even though they are perfect on the road this season. I’m picking the Browns to win this game.

Texans (7-5) @ Jets (4-8)  (1pm CBS)

I’m pretty sure that the Texans are going to win this game and that’s who I’m picking.

Rams (6-6) @ Ravens (9-3) (1pm FOX)

The Ravens will be fresh off their bye week and ready to go. I’m picking Baltimore for the win.

Lions (9-3) @ Bears (4-8)  (1pm FOX)

This will be their second meeting in just 3 weeks. The Bears won the last contest on Thanksgiving, which makes sense, because historically the Lions lose on Thanksgiving. I think that the Lions will even the record with getting a win this time around. I’m picking the Lions to win this game.

Panthers (1-11) @ Saints (5-7) (1pm FOX)

The Panthers only have one win on the entire season and that came at home. They are away this week and even though the Saints have only won 2 home games I think they will get their third win against their division rival. I’m picking the Saints to win this game.

Vikings (6-6) @ Raiders (5-7) (4:05pm FOX)

I don’t know if the Vikings know who is going to start a QB against the Raiders. The Raiders play much better at home therefore I am picking the Raiders to win this game.

Seahawks (6-6) @ 49ers (8-3) (4:05pm FOX)

The Seahawks always play the 49ers hard. I think this is going to be a good high scoring game. I’m picking the 49ers to win but I’d like another 3 touchdowns from Metcalf again this week.

Bills (6-6) @ Chiefs (8-4) (4:25pm CBS)

I hate to say it but the Bills have been terrible on the road this season. Like, they just have one win on the road. The Chiefs uncharacteristically have lost 2 home games. Usually they are perfect at home. The Bills are coming off their bye and the Chiefs are coming off another embarrassing loss. I’m torn because I really like both teams. Mahomes is still my QB in fantasy so I want him to have a good game. I’ll be sad about whoever loses and happy about whoever wins. I guess I’m picking the Chiefs to win.

Broncos (6-6) @ Chargers (5-7) (4:25pm CBS)

I think that the Broncos will bounce back and win this game.

Eagles (10-2) @ Cowboys (9-3) (8:20pm NBC)

Can it end in a tie? The Cowboys haven’t beaten the Eagles this season but they also haven’t lost at home yet this season. I’m picking the Cowboys to win.

Monday, December 11th

Packers (6-6) @ NY Giants (4-8) (8:15pm ABC/ESPN+)

These last 3 weeks have been so blissful as a Giants fan. They won two in a row and then went on their bye. Tommy DeVito is going to get the start for the Giants and as much as I want to pick them to win I just can’t. I’ll be rooting for them and hoping and praying they can pull out a W but I am picking the Packers to win.

Titans (4-8) @ Dolphins (9-3) (8:15pm ESPN)

I’m picking the Dolphins to win.

GO G-MEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the edit Eric!
