Regular Season Week 17

Happy almost New Year! I hope you are having safe and happy holidays. First of all I want to congratulate my partner who won our fantasy football league this season!!!!! Woot woot Say Uncle! I finished 7th. I didn’t watch a ton of football last week so the recaps will be brief.  I went 9-7 on my picks.

Before we get into week 17 let’s recap week 16.

Saints @ Rams 22-30

This game seems so long ago. The Rams did indeed win this game. The Saints tried to make a comeback but the Rams said no thank you.

Bengals @ Steelers 11-34

Thank god this was the last week of fantasy football for me. I purposefully benched George Pickens because he hasn’t been a team player and he hasn’t put up hardly any points in fantasy. Honesty the two should go hand in hand. Anyway, Pickens racked up 35.5 points on my bench after 4 receptions for 195 yards and two touchdowns. Of course the Steelers won this game.

Bills @ Chargers 24-22

Josh Allen had all 3 of Buffalo’s touchdowns in this win over the Chargers. He had two rushing touchdowns and one passing to Gabe Davis.

Twas the day before Christmas…

Usually when football isn’t going my way (fantasy or the Giants) I go into the kitchen and bake. Being the day before Christmas  I had a lot of present wrapping to do. I had planned to watch football all day as I wrapped presents for my loved ones but I was so frustrated with my fantasy team that I decided my day would be better spent upstairs in my office watching Christmas movies and wrapping presents than watching stupid football.

I’m not going to lie. I didn’t watch a lot or any of these games.

Browns @ Texans 36-22

I thought CJ Stroud would be back for the Texans and that’s why I’d picked Houston to win. Well Stroud did not play and that's why the Texans lost.

Commanders @ Jets 28-30

The Jets in the first half were MUCH better than the Jets in the 2nd half. In the first half the Jets had 27 points and held the Commanders to just one touchdown. They allowed the Commanders to score 3 touchdowns in the second half and let them right back into the game.  I guess the Jets thought they’d scored enough points in the first half as they only scored a field goal in the second half and that was enough to win the game.

Seahawks @ Titans 20-17

The Seahawks started off slowly but gained momentum by the fourth quarter. Seattle had just one field goal in the first half while the Titans were up a touchdown on them. The switch was flipped in the second half of the game with the Titans only scoring a touchdown while the Seahawks had a field goal in the third and two touchdowns in the fourth, the last one being the game winner.

Colts @ Falcons 10-29

Jonathan Taylor was back for this game and he even scored a touchdown but that’s pretty much it for the Colts. Instead it was Falcons kicker Younghoe Koo who was the real MVP of this game. Koo had 5 field goals and one extra point in this win for the Falcons.

Packers  @ Panthers 33-30

The Panthers almost won two in a row. Almost. Sorry Carolina, at least you made it a game worth watching.

Lions @ Vikings 30-24

It was this game that was the catalyst for moving to upstairs wrapping and Christmas movies. I was so frustrated by the lack of targets to Sam LaPorta that I was really getting bummed out. I’m super glad that the Lions won! It’s their first time winning their division since the early 1990’s. Congratulations! Detroit Lions fans are the true meaning of a football fan. It hasn’t been easy. But you haven’t given up. You are the definition of tenacity.

Jags @ Buccaneers 12-30

The Bucs have now won 4 in a row and the Jags are now in a downward spiral.

Cardinals @ Bears 16-27

The Bears gave their fans quite a win over the Cards. Justin Fields had a rushing and a passing touchdown in this win.

Cowboys @ Dolphins 20-22

Miami did just enough to win this game and a win is a win. I usually like watching the Cowboys lose but I was too busy watching A Christmas Story. That was time well spent.

Patriots @ Broncos 26-23

The Broncos were 7.5 point favorites before the game started. The Patriots were the fourth underdog to win at Mile High in coach Sean Payton's first season. This upset has left the Broncos with just a 6% chance of ending their eight-year playoff drought, according to the NFL's calculations. It’s not looking good for Denver.

Raiders @ Chiefs 20-14

I caught about three seconds of this game and that’s only after I looked over at my partner who had the game on his phone as we were opening up presents at my parents house Monday afternoon. What I saw wasn’t pretty and I am very glad that I didn’t watch this game. I really don’t know what’s going on with the Chiefs. I feel like a broken record. What’s their deal? What’s wrong with Kelce? What’s wrong with Mahomes? What’s wrong with the Chiefs? This was a divisional game in which they should have dominated. Instead, they lost. Again. At one point something happened and Travis Kelce threw his helmet. Someone on the sideline picked it up to give it back to him and Andy Reid stopped them and wouldn’t let him give Kelce his helmet back. The Raiders  became the first NFL team since 2000 to win without completing a pass after the first quarter and only the fifth team to beat the Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium without scoring an offensive touchdown.

NY Giants @ Eagles 25-33

This was not the score I had expected. We were at my partner’s parents house opening more presents during this game so I missed most of it. I would check in from time to time to see how the Giants were doing. I missed Tommy DeVito getting benched and I missed all the touchdowns but from what I read it was the officiating that once again made it much easier for the Eagles to win. I mean the Giants looked like they were playing competitive ball. With the loss last week we have no hopes of making the playoffs so now I just hope we can play spoilers.

Ravens @ 49ers 33-19

Brock Purdy came back down to earth hard. At one point the kid had negative fantasy points. Purdy had 4 interceptions and zero touchdowns in this loss. It was pretty ugly if you’re a 9ers fan.

 WEEK 17

Thursday, December 28th

Jets (6-9) @ Browns (10-5)  (8:15pm PRIME VIDEO)

I’m picking the Browns to win this game.

Saturday, December 30th

Lions (11-4) @ Cowboys (10-5) (8:15pm ABC/ESPN/ESPN+)

I’ll be rooting for the Lions and hoping my pick is wrong because I’m picking the Cowboys to win this game.

Sunday, December 31st

Dolphins (11-4) @ Ravens (12-3) (1pm CBS)

I’m picking the Ravens to win this game.

Patriots (4-11) @ Bills (9-6) (1pm CBS)

I’m picking the Bills to win this divisional game.

Falcons (7-8) @ Bears (6-9)  (1pm CBS)

I’m picking the Bears to win this game. They are stronger at home and the Falcons are weaker on the road.

Raiders (8-7) @ Colts (8-7) (1pm CBS)

I feel like I never pick either of these teams correctly. I’ll pick the Raiders to win this week.

Panthers (2-13) @ Jaguars (8-7)  (1pm CBS)

I’m picking the Jags to win this game.

Titans (5-10) @  Texans (8-7) (1pm FOX)

I’m picking the Texans to win this game.

Rams (8-7) @ NY Giants (5-10) (1pm FOX)

Cool. The Giants have won 3 games at home and the Rams have won 3 games away. Obviously I’ll be rooting for the Giants. I think they can win this game but I’m picking the Rams to win. It’s better to pick against them, and then be happy the Giants won even if I got the pick wrong, than to pick the Giants to win and be doubly disappointed.

Saints (7-8) @ Buccaneers (8-7) (1pm FOX)

I’m picking the Bucs to win this game.

Cardinals (3-12) @ Eagles (11-4) (1pm FOX)

Another angry birds game. I think it would be hilarious if the Cards could pull off the upset but I’ll be picking the Eagles to win this game.

49ers (11-4) @ Commanders (4-11) (1pm FOX)

I think the 49ers will bounce back and win this game.

Steelers (8-7) @ Seahawks (8-7) (4:05pm FOX)

I think the Seahawks will win this game and that’s who I’m picking.

Bengals (8-7) @ Chiefs (9-6) (4:25pm CBS)

The Chiefs better get things right. I’ve picked them to win all of their games this season. I’m going to pick them to win this game too but I don’t expect anything spectacular.

Chargers (5-10) @  Broncos (7-8) (4:25pm CBS)

I hope the Broncos lose and lose badly. What they are doing to Russell Wilson is not cool. Wilson is the league's seventh-rated passer, with 26 touchdown passes and just 8 interceptions this season. But Denver is benching him so they don’t have to give him more money. Russell already has $39 million guaranteed for 2024, but he has an additional $37M that would become guaranteed if he can’t pass a physical by early March. Denver’s move to sit him assures that money won’t trigger.  Jarrett Stidham will start the final two games for the Broncos. With all that said I am picking the Broncos to lose.

Packers (7-8) @ Vikings (7-8) (8:20pm NBC)

The Packers will be without CB Jaire Alexander because he was suspended for one game after he messed up the coin toss in the previous game. The guy isn’t even one of the captains and just invited himself into the meeting in the middle of the field. With that said I am picking the Vikings to win this game.

GO G-MEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the edit Eric!

Regular Season Week 16

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!!!

Week 16 here we come! We’ll have games on Thursday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday again this week! Hooray for so much football! Week 15 was pretty great for me and my household. We both won our matchup in the fantasy playoffs, the Cowboys and the Eagles lost, and I went 10-6 on my picks. Yeah, all of the NFC East teams lost but the Bills won so it was a wash for me and my football sports teams.

Before we get into week 16 let’s recap week 15.

Chargers @ Raiders 21-63

This was definitely a statement game and one in which I did not stay up and watch the ending. Obviously it wasn’t a nail biter of a game. It’s no surprise that both the Chargers head coach and GM were relieved of their jobs after this loss.

Vikings @ Bengals 24-27 OT

The Bengals were down 17-3 late in the 3rd quarter. It wasn’t looking good for Cincinnati. In the fourth quarter things changed. Bengals QB Jake Browning connected with Tee Higgins for a touchdown to start the comeback. Then half way through the 4th Joe Mixon had a rushing touchdown. The Vikings answered back with a Jordan Addison touchdown but the game wasn’t over yet. With less than a minute to go in regulation Higgins caught another touchdown pass from Browning and the extra point by Evan McPherson sent the game into overtime. It was back and forth throughout OT but it was McPherson again to kick the game winning field goal.

Steelers @ Colts 13-30

The Steelers slide is real. They were shut out in the second half as the Colts featured their kicker Matt Gay for the rest of the game. Gay had 3 field goals in the second half of the game helping his team to victory.

Broncos @ Lions 17-42

It’s about time the Lions got a win! I was getting worried there. Sam LaPorta had 3 touchdowns in this rout of Denver. LaPorta also carried my fantasy team to victory racking up 28.6 points! I’m just thankful I won to be honest. Had my opponent had her best line up, she probably would have beat me. But she benched Jared Goff who had 31 points. Sorry Mom.

Jets @ Dolphins 0-30

The Dolphins shut out their division opponent and had the bounce back game they desperately needed. And they did it all without Tyreek Hill.

Texans @ Titans 19-16 OT

Houston, without CJ Stroud, was able to get the win in overtime after Ka’imi Fairbairn kicked a 54-yard field goal as time expired in overtime. Fairbairn had missed the previous 5 games due to injury so it looks like he was pretty clutch in his return.

Buccaneers @ Packers 34-20

The weather sure didn’t appear to have an effect on the Bucs. Baker Mayfield had one of his best games with Tampa as he threw for 4 touchdowns in this win over the Packers.

NY Giants @ Saints 6-24

For the last month it was so good to be a Giants fan. This week. Not so much. I did a lot of baking on Sunday. The Giants really never got going. I watched the first half and got frustrated. I don’t understand why they changed the script. I just don’t understand.

Falcons @ Panthers 7-9

The Panthers are so bad this season that tickets to this game were selling for $4. You can’t even get a beer for that price. I don’t know what’s more surprising, the ticket price or the fact that the Panthers actually won? This was one of the picks I got wrong.

Bears @ Browns 17-20

Joe Flacco shook off 3 interceptions and brought his team to victory. It’s not often that a quarterback has more interceptions than touchdowns and still comes out with a win.

Chiefs @ Patriots 27-17

Even the Patriots couldn’t make the Chiefs look good. I don’t know what’s wrong with either team. The Chiefs got lucky. I don’t see them making the super bowl this season, but I don’t know which AFC team will, as no one looks remarkable.

49ers @ Cardinals 45-29

Christian McCaffrey scored 3 total touchdowns in this win over the Cardinals. The 49ers also clinched the NFC West with this victory.

Commanders @ Rams 20-28

The Rams shut out the Commanders in the first half. Washington was really only able to score in garbage time which makes the game look closer than it actually was.

Cowboys @ Bills 10-31

The Cowboys clinched a playoff spot before this game. And it’s probably a good thing for Dallas fans. Last week I said, “Oh man. This is going to be a game. I hope the Cowboys look past this game because I don’t think the Bills have a chance otherwise. I want to see the Bills win and I’ll be rooting for them to do so. Hey crazier things have happened right.” Crazier things did indeed happen! The Bills shut out the Cowboys in the first and third quarter and only allowed a field goal in the 2nd quarter. The Cowboy’s only touchdown came in garbage time. I’m so happy for the Bills! James Cook had two touchdowns and ran for 179 rushing yards! It was an amazing win for Buffalo! Go Bills!

Ravens @ Jaguars 23-7

With this win the Ravens have also clinched an AFC playoff spot.

Eagles @ Seahawks 17-20

I didn’t get this pick correct and I’m totally ok with it. This game was the deciding game of whether or not both me and my partner would advance to the next round in the fantasy playoffs. My partner needed Hurts and Smith to not have a good game and I needed DK Metcalf and Kenneth Walker to score a combined 20 points (I was down 19 points heading into the game). Metcalf finished with 12.8 points and Walker with 20.2 points! DeVonta Smith finished with 10 points and Jalen Hurts finished with 21.92 points but threw 2 interceptions and my partner won his matchup by 17.44 points! Hooray for an Eagles loss!

WEEK 16

Thursday, December 21st

Saints (7-7) @ Rams (7-7) (8:15pm PRIME VIDEO)

The Rams are playing decent football as of late. I guess I’ll pick them to beat up on the Saints because my team couldn’t get it done last week. I’m picking the Rams to win this game.

Saturday, December 23rd

Bengals (8-6) @ Steelers (7-7) (4:30pm NBC)

The Steelers are going to start quarterback Mason Rudolph for this game. It’s a good thing this game isn’t played on the 24th though, I heard Mason has other reindeer duties that day. I’m picking the Bengals to win this game.

Bills (8-6) @ Chargers (5-9) (8pm Peacock )

I’m picking the Bills to win this game. I’m back on the bandwagon.

Sunday, December 24th

Browns (9-5) @ Texans (8-6) (1pm CBS)

I think that if CJ Stroud is back for the Texans that Houston will win. I’m picking the Texans to win this game.

Commanders (4-10) @ Jets (5-9) (1pm CBS)

I think that we can all agree that both teams are terrible. The Jets have a better defense so I guess I’ll pick them to win this game. It’ll more likely end in a tie though.

Seahawks (7-7) @ Titans (5-9) (1pm CBS)

If the Seahawks can beat the Eagles they can surely beat the Titans. I’m picking the Seahawks to win this game.

Colts (8-6) @ Falcons (6-8) (1pm FOX)

Jonathan Taylor should be back for this game. I’m picking the Colts to win it.

Packers (6-8) @ Panthers (2-12) (1pm FOX)

I’m picking the Packers to win this game. There is no way the Panthers win two in a row.

Lions (10-4) @ Vikings (7-7) (1pm FOX)

I’m picking the Lions to win against their divisional rival.

Jags (8-6) @ Buccaneers (7-7) (4:05pm CBS)

I’m going to go with the home team and pick the Bucs to win this game.

Cardinals (3-11) @ Bears (5-9) (4:25pm FOX)

I think that the Bears will get this win at home and that’s who I’m picking.

Cowboys (10-4) @ Dolphins (10-4) (4:25pm FOX)

The Dolphins have a better chance to win if Tyreek plays. I’d like to see the Dolphins win this game but I don’t see it happening. Well, maybe. The Cowboys have already clinched a playoff spot. I’m still picking the Cowboys to win this game.

Patriots (3-11) @ Broncos (7-7) (8:15pm NFLN)

I’m picking the Broncos to win this game.

Monday, December 25th

Raiders (6-8) @ Chiefs (9-5) (1pm CBS)

I’m picking the Chiefs to win this game.

NY Giants (5-9) @ Eagles (10-4) (4:30pm FOX)

It would take a Christmas miracle for the Giants to win this game. So you’re saying there’s a chance? Let’s put it this way. The Eagles have lost their last 3, the Giants have only lost their last one game. With that said I don’t think the Eagles are going to drop 4 games. I’ll be rooting for the Giants but picking the Eagles to win and I’m thankful that this game is on Christmas and we will be with family and the focus will not be on football. Go G-Men!

Ravens (11-3) @ 49ers (11-3) (8:15pm ABC/ESPN+)

This has the possibility of being a Super Bowl preview. I’m picking the 49ers to win this game.

GO G-MEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the edit Eric!

The Shenoa Report Week 15 '23 #theshenoareport

The Shenoa Report

December 14, 2023

Regular Season Week 15

Last week I forgot to mention my picks which were 10-4. This week I did WAY worse 7-8. But really I’m kinda ok with it. I picked the Giants to lose and they WON! I also won in fantasy so really, it’s ok. Yesterday was my birthday so I’m counting the Giants win on Monday night an early birthday present.

Week 15 will bring games on Thursday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday! Hooray for so much football!

Before we get into week 15 let’s recap week 14.

Patriots @  Steelers 21-18

The Steelers have imploded. I mean, they lost to the 2-10 Patriots at home! Bailey Zappe looked like Tom Brady throwing three touchdowns in this win over the Steelers. Mitch Trubisky only had one touchdown and forgot about his best wide receiver George Pickens. I already told you that I did horrible on picks. Yeah, I got this pick wrong.

Buccaneers @ Falcons 29-25

Yup, got this pick wrong too. Baker Mayfield didn’t throw an interception and had two clutch touchdowns in this win over the Falcons.

Colts @ Bengals 14-34

Another incorrect pick. The Colts just fell apart including Matt Gay the kicker who actually “netted” negative points for me in fantasy. Stupid. Now, a feel good story. Joe Burrow gifted backup quarterback Jake Browning his suite for the game so that Browning’s family could enjoy the game in style.

Jaguars @ Browns 27-31

I finally got a pick correct! Joe Flacco threw 3 touchdowns for the Browns to bring Cleveland to victory.

Texans @ Jets 6-30

Got this pick wrong too. But would you have picked the Jets? Nah. It was the Jets that embarrassed the Texans. Zach Wilson had two passing touchdowns and ZERO interceptions. Crazy. I know.

Rams @ Ravens 31-37 OT

It took overtime but I did get this pick correct.  Tylan Wallace returned the punt for a touchdown on the first play of overtime to win the game. I was just happy to see OBJ score a touchdown again.

Lions @ Bears 13-28

I don’t know what’s wrong with the Lions but they’ve burned me in picks a few times now and I don’t like it. I don’t like being wrong and I thought I could count on Detroit. I guess I should’ve picked the Bears to win. Justin Fields had a rushing touchdown and connected with DJ Moore twice for two more scores. While Jared Goff was too busy throwing interceptions. Ugh.

Panthers @ Saints 6-28

I don’t know what I would have done if I had gotten this pick wrong. It seems like the Panthers are the only team I can count on to lose. Derek Carr had two touchdowns and an interception in this win over the Saints division rival. Alvin Kamara had a rushing touchdown and Jimmy Graham and Chris Olave had a receiving touchdown each. Even the Saints defense had a fumble return for a touchdown.

Vikings @ Raiders 3-0

I got this pick wrong too but here is the recap of the game. Punt. Punt. Punt. Punt. Punt. Punt. Missed FG.  Punt. Punt. Half Time.  Punt. Fumble.  Punt. Punt. Punt. Punt. Punt. Punt. Punt. Punt. Field Goal. Interception.  Punt. Fumble.

Seahawks @ 49ers 16-28

The Seahawks put up a fight but it wasn’t enough to get the win. It got pretty chippy at the end of the game. Both DK Metcalf and Deommodore Lenoir were ejected late in the fourth after a scuffle broke out between them. I don’t mind the fighting. It shows passion.

Bills @ Chiefs 20-17

Yeah, I got this pick wrong too. Sorry Bills fans, I really thought the Chiefs would win at home. It was a really close game. I know all Chiefs fans are going to hate me for this next sentence. The refs got the penalty on Kadarius Toney correct. He was WAY offsides. It shouldn’t be the ref’s job to make sure all the players are in place. That’s the player's job. It was an incredible play. A pass from Patrick Mahomes to Travis Kelce, which was then lateralled across the field to Kadarius Toney, for the 49-yard score to be called back by an offside penalty on none other than Toney himself.  Had Toney lined up correctly the Chiefs would have won that game and I would’ve gotten the pick correct. If you’re going to blame anyone, blame Toney. It’s not the first time he’s drawn that penalty. He’s young and clearly doesn’t have the awareness. Hopefully he’ll learn from his mistake.  Sorry not sorry.

Broncos @ Chargers 24-7

I got this pick correct! Unfortunately for the Chargers, Justin Herbert will be out the rest of the season due to the injury he sustained in this game.  I think the Broncos would have won even with Herbert in the game. The Broncos have done a complete 180 from that Miami game. They’ve learned and are now very competitive.

Eagles @ Cowboys 13-33

I got this pick right too! One of my coworkers is a Cowboys fan. It’s been a long season. Anyway, I let him know I was rooting for the Cowboys for this game only and he almost fell over. The Cowboys looked good. It pains me to write that just so you know. It was a good game to watch and I was happy with the outcome, though a tie would’ve been better.

Monday night was fun! There were two games on and the Manning Cast attempted to Redzone both. I thought they were definitely more interested in the Miami game, I mean more than half their guests were Titans fans or former players, but it’s ok. I got both picks incorrect but I’m totally fine with the outcomes.

Titans @ Dolphins 28-27

The Titans were down two touchdowns with just 3 minutes left in the game. It was very unlikely that they were going to upset the Dolphins. The Miami defense was playing very well, until the last 3 minutes of the game. Titans quarterback Will Levis shook off his previous mistake which was a bad underhand lob that resulted in a fumble that gave Miami a two touchdown lead in the final 4 minutes of the game. Tennessee fought back and Levis connected with DeHop for a touchdown and their 2 point conversion was also good. The Titans defense then held the Dolphins to a 3 and out and got the ball right back with time for a two minute drill. The drill was successful and the Titans scored again with a Derrick Henry rushing touchdown. The Dolphins got the ball back with about 25 seconds left in the game but Tua was sacked and the game was over. The Titans ruined the Dolphins perfect home record and got the win.

Packers @ NY Giants 22-24

The Packers had been perfect in December under head coach Matt Laflore. I’m not going to lie. I really didn’t think the Giants would even be competitive during this game so I made plans to see “Waitress” with my friend and missed most of the first half. When I got into my vehicle after the show I searched for the game on the radio and did a double take when I saw the score was 7-7. When I was driving home I learned that Saquon had scored the Giants touchdown and I was happy. By the time I’d gotten home the Packers had scored a field goal and it was half time. I have an evening routine which includes riding my spin bike every night. I knew I was going to watch the game and peddle. When I got on the bike half time was over and the Giants had already scored again! The Giants defense had recovered a fumble and Saquon had his second rushing touchdown of the night and I missed it! I wasn’t sad though because the Giants were once again in the lead. The Packers answered back with a field goal. Then late in the third quarter Tommy DeVito threw a perfect pass to Isaiah Hodgins in the back corner of the endzone for another touchdown. It was a beautiful play. I felt really good about a win. Then the 4th quarter happened and I got a little agitated. With about 5 minutes left in the game the Packers scored another field goal. We got the ball back and Saquon had this amazing run… then fumbled the ball… talk about taking the air out of the stadium. I watched in horror. The Packers picked it up and were immediately in the red zone. No! This can’t be happening. Jordan Love threw a pass and it was caught but then batted away in the endzone. Was it a touchdown? Review said no. Phew. Then on 3rd down another pass this time to Malik Heath and it was called a touchdown on the field. I still don’t think it was an actual touchdown. Oh well. The Giants were now losing. The Packers went for 2 and the Giants defense stood their ground and wouldn’t let them convert. OK. Here we go. It was time for the 2 minute drill with less than 2 minutes in the game. It was Tommy Cutlets time. Tommy was perfect in this final drive. He hit Wan’Dale Robinson for a 5 yard gain then Saquon for a first down. He then hit Darius Slayton for 9 yards and then Robinson again for a 32 yard pickup! We were now in field goal range. With 3 seconds left on the clock Randy Bullock kicked a 37 yard field goal to give the Giants their THIRD WIN IN A ROW! Dude. It was awesome. Amazing. Everyone had their hands up in the air with the Tommy Cutlets hand gesture. 🤌 The fans went crazy. Tommy’s agent was hugging and kissing Tommy’s dad in the stands. It was the perfect end to a fantastic week and an early birthday present to me.

 WEEK 15

Thursday, December 14th

Chargers (5-8) @  Raiders (5-8)  (8:15pm PRIME VIDEO)

Herbert is out. Allen is out. I don’t see how the Chargers can win this game. I’m going to pick the Raiders for the win.

Saturday, December 16th

Vikings (7-6) @ Bengals (7-6) (1pm NFLN)

The Vikings could only put up 3 points last week so I think I’m going to go with the team that actually scored 30+ points. I’m picking the Bengals for the win.

Steelers (7-6) @ Colts (7-6) (4:30pm NFLN )

I think that the Steelers have hit rock bottom. I’m picking the Colts to win this game.

Broncos (7-6) @ Lions (9-4) (8:15pm NFLN)

Ok. I’m going to pick the Lions to win this game. But if they don’t, I don’t think I can pick them to win again this season. Come on Detroit! Bounce back!

Sunday, December 17th

Jets (5-8) @ Dolphins (9-4)  (1pm CBS)

The Dolphins had an epic collapse on Monday night. This game has divisional consequences. The Jets could play spoilers. The Dolphins also need a bounce back game. I’m picking Miami for the win.

Texans (7-6) @ Titans (5-8) (1pm FOX)

I think that the Titans are going to continue to ride that high of winning on Monday night and will win this game at home.

Buccaneers (6-7) @ Packers (6-7)  (1pm FOX)

Weather may have an impact on this game. The Packers are very used to practicing and playing in the cold, the Bucs, not so much. For this reason I am picking the Packers to win this game.

NY Giants (5-8) @ Saints (6-7) (1pm FOX)

I am definitely on this Tommy Cutlets bandwagon and am going to ride it as long as possible. I am back to picking the Giants to win. It’ll be a tough game but, as crazy as it sounds we are one game out of the playoffs. Let’s go G-MEN!

Falcons (6-7) @ Panthers (1-12) (1pm FOX)

This is a divisional game in which I am picking the Falcons to win.

Bears (5-8) @ Browns (8-5) (1pm FOX)

I think that this will be a good game. Like, I don’t see a blowout. I’m picking the Browns to win.

Chiefs (8-5) @ Patriots (3-10) (1pm FOX)

The Patriots love to play upset. They play tough and their record does not reflect that. The Chiefs better not look past this 3-10 team or they are going to lose another game they should have won. I’m going to pick the Chiefs to win, because they should, but at the same time I won’t be shocked if they don’t.

49ers (10-3) @ Cardinals (3-10) (4:05pm CBS)

The Cards are fresh off their bye but I don’t think it’s going to be enough to win against the 49ers. I’m picking San Francisco to win this game.

Commanders (4-9) @ Rams (6-7) (4:05pm CBS)

The Commanders are also fresh off their bye but I am still going to pick the Rams to win this game.

Cowboys (9-3) @ Bills (7-6) (4:25pm CBS)

Oh man. This is going to be a game. I hope the Cowboys look past this game because I don’t think the Bills have a chance otherwise. I want to see the Bills win and I’ll be rooting for them to do so. Hey crazier things have happened right. With that said I’m picking the Cowboys to win this game.

Ravens (10-3) @ Jaguars (8-5) (8:20pm NBC)

I think that the Ravens are going to win this game and that’s who I’m picking.

Monday, December 18th

Eagles (10-3) @ Seahawks (6-7) (8:15pm ABC/ESPN)

I hope the Seahawks bring their A game and keep this game competitive. I’m picking Eagles to win in this game of the angry birds.

The Shenoa Report

Regular Season Week 14

Week 13 definitely had its ups and downs for me. I annihilated my opponent in fantasy and even moved up one spot in the rankings. Unfortunately, I missed the playoffs by one spot. With that said I am going to celebrate week 13 and all my player‘s accomplishments in my recap. But moving on I’m probably not going to talk much about FF because the sting is real.

There were a lot of football injuries from last week that I’ll also touch on in the recaps.

After missing the playoffs I was pretty bummed and once again thought I really don’t know football. But then my partner asked if I could name the top 10 quarterbacks this season, based on total fantasy points, and I was able to do it! I only got one guess wrong! It’s the little things in life.

We are moving into week 14. Byes this week include the Cardinals and the Commanders.

Before we get into week 14 let’s recap week 13.

Seahawks @ Cowboys 35-41

This was an exciting game. It was back and forth with so much scoring. Neither team punted, for just the fifth time in NFL history. It was especially exciting because I started DK Metcalf and Zach Charbonnet. Metcalf had 134 receiving yards including a hat trick scoring 3 touchdowns and Charbonnet had 96 total yards and a rushing touchdown before he left the game with a knee bruise injury. By the end of the game my fantasy team had 54 points and I was well on my way to a winning week.

Chargers @ Patriots 6-0

Welp, this was a pretty ugly, boring game. The score says it all.

Cardinals @ Steelers 24-10

I thought the Steelers had turned over a new leaf, but I was wrong. Their struggles are real. I was shocked that the Cardinals won. This was one of the 4 games I picked wrong. But really, would you have picked the Cards to win? I started James Conner and he had two rushing touchdowns and 105 rushing yards and got me 22.5 fantasy points. Unfortunately I left Trey McBride on my bench and he racked up 22.9 points with 89 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Colts @ Titans 31-28 OT

I also got this pick wrong, but really it was a toss up. I wasn’t shocked. I mean, it had to go to overtime to be decided. I was happy that DeHop found the endzone and had 75 receiving yards. He got me 18.9 points but it wasn’t enough for the Titans to get the win.  The Colts have now won four in a row.

Broncos @ Texans 17-22

This was a sloppy game, but a good defensive game. The Broncos win streak came to an end. Russell Wilson didn’t have his best game, that's for sure. Anytime you throw more interceptions than touchdowns it’s not a good sign and that’s what Wilson did. My fantasy team and the Texans took a hard blow when Tank Dell went out of the game super early with a broken leg. It’s amazing that the Texans and I were able to win without him.

Lions @ Saints 33-28

Sam LaPorta also had an amazing game with 9 targets, 9 receptions, 140 receiving yards, one touchdown, and 29 fantasy points for me. It’s safe to say that the Lions bounced back. Jared Goff also had a much better game than his Thanksgiving game as he didn’t throw any interceptions.

Falcons @ Jets 13-8

This was another ugly football game. The Falcons did just enough to win the game but it wasn’t a bad thing that I started the Jets defense. They got me 11 points in fantasy as they sacked Desmond Ridder three times.

Dolphins @ Commanders 45-15

It's safe to say the Dolphins dominated Washington. In other news, Tyreek Hill is still a beast. I wish he was on my fantasy team. Hill had 2 touchdowns and 157 receiving yards.

Panthers @ Buccaneers 18-21

The Panthers played much better this week after the coach house cleaning last week. They didn’t win but that’s because they don’t have Mike Evens. Evens had an incredible game with 7 receptions, 162 receiving yards and a touchdown.

49ers @ Eagles 42-19

This was my favorite game of the week. I mean, look at that score. After the Championship game last season it must have been a nice revenge game for the 49ers. 9ers fans have always said that if Brock Purdy had finished that game last season they would’ve won. Fast forward to this season and the fans were correct. Some crazy things happened because emotions were so high. 49ers linebacker Dre Greenlaw and the Eagles chief security officer, Dom DiSandro, got ejected after a scuffle in the 3rd quarter. DiSandro pulled Greenlaw off DeVonta Smith after a reception. Greenlaw popped up and reached over two officials to touch DiSandro’s face with a closed fist. Personally, I think that Dom shouldn’t have touched Greenlaw in the first place. I also don’t think Greenlaw should have been ejected. I think that if Greenlaw had really meant to connect with DiSandro’s face it would’ve been a lot worse… Anyway, Brock Purdy threw for 314 yards and had four touchdowns, Deebo Samuel caught three of them. It was a great day for San Francisco fans and I am already looking forward to the rematch, which should come in the postseason.

Browns @ Rams 19-36

The Rams put on a clinic against the Browns. Matt Stafford had 3 touchdowns and zero interceptions. He was pretty much perfect. Joe Flacco did ok for the Browns, throwing a touchdown in the first and last quarter, it just wasn’t enough against LA.

Chiefs @ Packers 19-27

This game was dumb. The Chiefs have problems. They are clearly not the team they were last year. They just look awful. Thankfully, I’d already secured my fantasy win before this game had started because had I been relying on Patrick Mahomes to get any significant points I would have been sorely disappointed. Mahomes had just one touchdown and one interceptions. Jordan Love, however, had three touchdowns and no interceptions. That’s just stupid. Also the officiating was complete garbage. There were SO. MANY. BLOWN. CALLS. Ugh. I hate getting picks wrong and I hate when my fantasy players underperform.

Bengals @ Jaguars 34-31 OT

This game really took an injury turn for the Jags. I think they could have won the game and I could’ve gotten the pick right had Trevor Lawrence and Christian Kirk not left the game due to injury. Kirk had a groin injury very early in the first quarter and Lawrence left the game in the 4th quarter with a high ankle injury. I think if Lawrence hadn’t been injured the Jags would have won the game in regulation. That wasn’t the case. The Jags had to settle for a field goal just to send the game into OT where the Bengals ended up getting the win.

 WEEK 14

Thursday, December 7th

Patriots (2-10) @  Steelers (7-5)  (8:15pm PRIME VIDEO)

As bad as the Steelers are playing, the Patriots are playing worse. I’m picking the Steelers to win this game.

Sunday, December 10th

Buccaneers (5-7) @ Falcons (6-6) (1pm CBS)

The Bucs have already lost to the Falcons once this year when they played in Tampa. Now the Bucs are on the road and have only won 2 road games this season. I think I’m going to have to pick the Falcons to win this game.

Colts (7-5) @ Bengals (6-6) (1pm CBS )

The Colts have won 4 in a row and the Bengals got lucky last week. I’m going to pick the Colts to win this game.

Jaguars (8-4) @ Browns (7-5) (1pm CBS)

I think it's going to be tough for the Jags to get a win going forward without Trevor Lawrence even though they are perfect on the road this season. I’m picking the Browns to win this game.

Texans (7-5) @ Jets (4-8)  (1pm CBS)

I’m pretty sure that the Texans are going to win this game and that’s who I’m picking.

Rams (6-6) @ Ravens (9-3) (1pm FOX)

The Ravens will be fresh off their bye week and ready to go. I’m picking Baltimore for the win.

Lions (9-3) @ Bears (4-8)  (1pm FOX)

This will be their second meeting in just 3 weeks. The Bears won the last contest on Thanksgiving, which makes sense, because historically the Lions lose on Thanksgiving. I think that the Lions will even the record with getting a win this time around. I’m picking the Lions to win this game.

Panthers (1-11) @ Saints (5-7) (1pm FOX)

The Panthers only have one win on the entire season and that came at home. They are away this week and even though the Saints have only won 2 home games I think they will get their third win against their division rival. I’m picking the Saints to win this game.

Vikings (6-6) @ Raiders (5-7) (4:05pm FOX)

I don’t know if the Vikings know who is going to start a QB against the Raiders. The Raiders play much better at home therefore I am picking the Raiders to win this game.

Seahawks (6-6) @ 49ers (8-3) (4:05pm FOX)

The Seahawks always play the 49ers hard. I think this is going to be a good high scoring game. I’m picking the 49ers to win but I’d like another 3 touchdowns from Metcalf again this week.

Bills (6-6) @ Chiefs (8-4) (4:25pm CBS)

I hate to say it but the Bills have been terrible on the road this season. Like, they just have one win on the road. The Chiefs uncharacteristically have lost 2 home games. Usually they are perfect at home. The Bills are coming off their bye and the Chiefs are coming off another embarrassing loss. I’m torn because I really like both teams. Mahomes is still my QB in fantasy so I want him to have a good game. I’ll be sad about whoever loses and happy about whoever wins. I guess I’m picking the Chiefs to win.

Broncos (6-6) @ Chargers (5-7) (4:25pm CBS)

I think that the Broncos will bounce back and win this game.

Eagles (10-2) @ Cowboys (9-3) (8:20pm NBC)

Can it end in a tie? The Cowboys haven’t beaten the Eagles this season but they also haven’t lost at home yet this season. I’m picking the Cowboys to win.

Monday, December 11th

Packers (6-6) @ NY Giants (4-8) (8:15pm ABC/ESPN+)

These last 3 weeks have been so blissful as a Giants fan. They won two in a row and then went on their bye. Tommy DeVito is going to get the start for the Giants and as much as I want to pick them to win I just can’t. I’ll be rooting for them and hoping and praying they can pull out a W but I am picking the Packers to win.

Titans (4-8) @ Dolphins (9-3) (8:15pm ESPN)

I’m picking the Dolphins to win.
