Regular Season Week 17

I hope your holidays were merry and bright. I also hope your football team added to the joy of the season, as mine did not.

I went 8-8 in picks last week and won the first of two weeks of the loser bracket of fantasy football playoffs. I’ll be so happy when that season is over.

I’m going to be honest, I didn’t watch that much football this past week. So the recap might be on the brief side.

Jaguars @ Jets 19-3

Zach Wilson was so bad for the Jets that he was booed until he was benched. Chris Steveler, who was elevated from the practice squad before the game, replaced Wilson late in the third quarter. Ouch. The Jags didn’t have their prettiest game but it was enough to beat the Jets.

Bills @ Bears 35-13

The Bills didn’t seem to be bothered by the cold temperatures during the game. They literally ran all over the Bears and got the win. The most frustrating part of their trip to Chicago was getting back home. Buffalo NY had to close their airport due to a freak blizzard and the Bills had to fly into Rochester and then take a bus to get back to Buffalo.

Saints @ Browns 17-10

It was so cold in Cleveland that even their crazy fans stayed home and the stadium was less than half full. It was also so cold that neither team scored in the first or last quarter. Alvin Kamara finally got a touchdown in the 3rd quarter, only the second game of the season in which he found the endzone. What a waste of a draft pick.

Texans @ Titans 19-14

This game had an hour delay because Nashville was dealing with power outages in the area due to the winter storm. This delay must have thrown off the Titans groove because the Texans snapped a 9 game losing streak to come out on top. With Ryan Tannahill out it was Malik Willis who got the start for the Titans. Willis had a rushing touchdown, zero passing touchdowns, but he did have two interceptions.  Davis Mills, the Texans quarterback, had one passing touchdown and one interception. The difference maker in this game was Ka’imi Fairbairn who had two field goals to add to the winning score.

Seahawks @ Chiefs 10-24

It’s no surprise that the Chiefs won this game. After the game the team presented Andy Ried with a Christmas present. Spoiler, it was a cheese burger.

NY Giants @ Vikings 24-27

This was a heartbreaker of a game. It’s not the first time the Giants have lost on a last second 60+ yard field goal, but I hope it’s the last. Ugh. This was a winnable game, but the Giants made stupid mistakes and it cost us the game. Danny Jones had an interception, our defense couldn’t stop Kirk Cousins and Justin Jefferson when they absolutely needed to, Daniel Bellinger lost a fumble, Richie James dropped a pass that should've led to a touchdown… You get the point.

Bengals @ Patriots 22-18

The Bengals shut out the Patriots the first half of the game and the Patriots shut out the Bengals the second half of the game. The only difference was Cincinnati scored more points than the Patriots to get the win.

Lions @ Panthers 23-37

This game shocked me. I really thought the Lions would’ve walked all over the Panthers. But then I remembered, Jared Goff doesn’t do well outside, and the Carolina weather was less than desirable. But still, a shocking win for the Panthers in my opinion.

Falcons @ Ravens 9-17

The Ravens have shown that they don’t need Lamar Jackson to win games, in fact, they are doing just fine without him.

Commanders @ 49ers 20-37

With this loss the Commanders slip further from the playoffs. They haven’t been eliminated yet, but this loss didn’t help them.

Eagles @ Cowboys 34-40

I’m actually disappointed that the Eagles didn’t win this game. For the first time ever, I was actually rooting for them. Thanks a lot Cowboys.

Raiders @ Steelers 10-13

It was a close win but the Steelers came out on top. Pittsburgh honored the late Franco Harris with this win.

Packers @ Dolphins 26-20

The Packers are still technically alive in the playoff hunt with this win. In other news, Tua seems to have suffered another concussion during this game. This is doubly not good for the Dolphins.

Broncos @ Rams 14-51

We didn’t watch any of this game and looking at the final score we wish we had. What in the world happened to the Rams and the Broncos. So much for a great defense Denver! I lost 4 points in fantasy because of the Broncos defense. I guess it’s safe to say that Baker Mayfield feels pretty good in the Blue and Yellow.

Buccaneers @ Cardinals 19-16 OT

It took another overtime, but the Bucs got another win. After this loss, J.J. Watt announced that he would be retiring at the end of this season.

Chargers @ Colts 20-3

Well neither Justin Herbert nor Nick Foles had any touchdowns but Nick Foles did have 3 interceptions. The Chargers defense really stepped up and showed the Colts that just maybe Jeff Saturday isn’t the best interim coach in the NFL.

WEEK 17

Thursday, December 29th

Cowboys (11-4) @ Titans (7-8) (8:15pm Prime Video)

The Titans are riddled with injuries and Derrick Henry is questionable to play. With that said, I’m picking the Cowboys to win this game.

Sunday, January 1st HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Cardinals (4-11) @ Falcons (5-10) (1pm FOX)

With both teams already eliminated from the playoffs, this game is just for pride. I’m picking the Falcons to win this game of the angry birds.

Bears (3-12) @ Lions (7-8) (1pm FOX)

The Lions haven’t technically been eliminated from playoff contention but the Bears have been. The Lions will need a LOT of help if they hope to get into the postseason. First things first, they have to win. If they don’t win this game against the Bears their season is over. I’m picking the Lions to win but I am not guaranteeing they’ll get into the postseason.

Jaguars (7-8) @ Texans (2-12-1) (1pm CBS)

Even though they have a losing record the Jags are at the top of their division and will make the playoffs. Crazy. The Texans were eliminated months ago. I’m picking the Jags to win this game.

Broncos (4-11) @ Chiefs (12-3) (1pm CBS)

The Broncos fired their head coach after their humiliating loss last week. At this point Denver is just playing for pride. The Chiefs are definitely playoff bound and I am picking them to win this game as well.

Dolphins (8-7) @ Patriots (7-8) (1pm CBS)

Miami can clinch a playoff berth with: Miami win + NY Jets loss or tie OR a Miami tie + NY Jets loss + Pittsburgh loss or tie. The Patriots are on the outside looking in, but they haven’t technically been eliminated yet. They also need a lot of help, like a win against the Dolphins. The Dolphins will be without Tua, as he’s in concussion protocol. I am picking the Patriots to win this game.

Colts (4-10-1) @ NY Giants (8-6-1) (1pm CBS)

The Colts have been eliminated from the playoffs already and they are just hoping the season will end. The Giants playoff hopes are alive and well. All they have to do is win this game and they are in. But, if they don’t win, here are all the scenarios. New York clinches playoff berth with: NYG tie + SEA loss or tie + WAS loss or tie OR NYG tie + SEA loss or tie + DET loss or tie OR NYG tie + WAS loss or tie + DET loss or tie + GB loss or tie OR SEA loss + WAS loss OR SEA loss + DET loss + GB loss or tie OR WAS loss + DET loss + GB loss. Oh man, with all that said I’m going to pick the Giants to win this game so we don’t have to even think about the other scenarios. Go G-Men!

Saints (6-9) @ Eagles (13-2) (1pm FOX)

The Saints are technically still alive in the playoff hunt but they are also on the outside looking in. Like everyone else, first they have to win this game. I don’t think that is going to happen. I am picking the Eagles to win this game and that is regardless if Jalen Hurts plays.

Panthers (6-9) @ Buccaneers (7-8) (1pm FOX)

Crazy enough, both teams are still alive when it comes to playoff chances. The Bucs lead their division and can clinch a spot with a win. The Panthers would have to win to even keep their hopes alive. I don’t think that’s going to happen. I am picking the Bucs to win this game. It might take overtime, but I think they’ll get the win.

Browns (6-9) @ Commanders (7-7-1) (1pm FOX)

The Browns have already been eliminated from playoff contention and the Commanders need to win to stay in. They also need a little help from their friends. Washington can clinch a playoff berth with a win + SEA loss + DET loss + GB loss or tie. With that said the Commanders are going to be starting Carson Wentz so that should be interesting. Also, the Browns have a good defense and like to play spoilers. I am hoping that the Browns win this game but I’m picking the Commanders to win.

 49ers (11-4) @ Raiders (6-9)  (4:05pm)

Stuff is going down in Las Vegas. Earlier this week the organization decided to bench Derek Carr for the last two games of the season. This will end his consecutive starting streak, which is the second longest to only Tom Brady. And that’s just a really crappy thing to do. He can call Eli Manning to see how to cope with such assery.  Also, the Raiders haven’t been officially eliminated from playoff contention, but with this move they are throwing in the towel. I feel awful for Carr and his fans. I don’t like the Raiders but this is not how you treat your QB. I’m picking the 49ers to win this game.

Jets (7-8) @ Seahawks (7-8)  (4:05pm FOX)

Both teams have losing records and both teams haven’t been eliminated yet. Both teams are long shots in making the playoffs but you’re saying, “there’s still a chance.” Mike White will be back under center for the Jets so I think they have a solid chance at winning this game. The Seahawks also have a very good chance at winning this game. I think I’ll go with the home team to win this game.

Vikings (12-3) @ Packers (7-8)  (4:25pm CBS)

It’s crazy to think that the Packers still have a chance at making the postseason. They HAVE TO win this game to stay alive. If Green Bay loses to the Vikings this week and the Lions beat the Bears at home, the Packers will be eliminated from playoff contention. Historically the Packers play very well against the Vikings. I am going to pick the Packers to win this game but I wouldn't be surprised or sad if I got this pick wrong.

Rams (5-10) @ Chargers (9-6)  (4:25pm CBS)

The Rams are playing for pride right now and the Chargers have already punched their ticket for the playoffs. I could actually see the Rams winning this game and it wouldn’t surprise me at all. I am going to pick the Chargers for the win because the Rams haven’t won two in a row since Cooper Kupp was on the field.

Steelers (7-8) @ Ravens (10-5)  (8:20pm NBC)

The Ravens have already punched their ticket to the playoffs and the Steelers are just fighting to stay alive. I think this game will be a good, close game. I’m picking the Ravens to win though.

Monday, January 2nd

Bills (12-3) @ Bengals (11-4) (8:30pm ESPN/ABC)

Both of these teams are already in the playoffs, and this could have a playoff game feel. Buffalo can clinch home-field advantage and AFC's lone first-round bye with: a win and a KC loss. I’ve already picked the Chiefs to win so I don’t think they lock up their first round bye but I do think the Bills will win this game, and I’m picking them to do so.

GO G-MEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the edit Eric!

Regular Season Week 16

Happy holidays everyone! Whatever you celebrate, may you have a happy and healthy time celebrating!

We’ll have football games Thursday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday night for week 16. Weather is going to be a real factor in the weekend games if they are played outside. Temps are expected to get down to the 20s in the south!

Congratulations to Argentina for winning the World Cup!

I went 14-2 in picks last week and am now in the loser bracket of fantasy football playoffs. I’ll be so happy when that season is over.

Guys, the Giants won this past week so I am super stoked once again and excited to talk football with you all.

Let’s recap week 15 before we move onto week 16 where the majority of the games will be played on Saturday.

49ers @ Seahawks 21-13

The 49ers won the game with their banged up 3rd string quarterback, Brock Purdy and their incredible defense. The San Francisco defense didn’t allow a touchdown until the 4th quarter and by that time it was too late for the Seahawks. Geno Smith was sacked three times and hit nine times. His wide receivers also took a beating. Tyler Lockett suffered a broken bone in his hand late in the game.

Colts @ Vikings 36-39 OT

The Vikings were shut out in the first half. The score was 33-0. Kirk Cousins had negative fantasy points. I was mad that Dalvin Cook wasn’t performing, I was mad that Jeff Saturday would be hailed as an amazing interim head coach without any formal training opening a flood gate of nonsense, and I was mad that I was going to get the pick wrong. Then the second half started and the Vikings completed the largest comeback in NFL history and in doing so also clinched the NFC North. On the other side of the ball Matt Ryan is now on the losing end of both the largest comeback in Super Bowl history and the largest comeback in NFL history.

Ravens @ Browns 3-13

The Browns are definitely the Ravens kryptonite. In other news Deshawn Watson got his first win with the Browns.

Dolphins @ Bills 29-32

For the 4th straight season the Bills clinched a playoff berth. This time with a win over the Dolphins. Clearly, it was “Tua cold” for Miami and the rest of the Dolphins.  Buffalo had 8” of snow prior to the game so the stadium was perfect for making snowballs. The officials had to stop the game at one point to tell the fans to stop throwing snowballs otherwise the Bills would be penalized 15 yards. This didn’t really stop the snowballs from flying. The snow really started coming down in the fourth quarter and it was then that the Bills ran away with the win and the fans started singing Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow.

Eagles @ Bears 25-20

It was extremely unlikely the Bears would win this game, but they made it so close!  It was an exciting game to watch and it would’ve been better had Justin Fields not touched a toe out of bounds and had his long rushing touchdown called back. Fields actually had a great day, he had no interceptions while Jalen Hurts threw two. Also, Hurts hurt his shoulder in this win and is questionable moving forward.

Falcons @ Saints 18-21

Ugh. I’m so sick of Kamara under performing! Also who the heck is this Juwan Johnson guy and why is he taking all the touchdowns from Kamara this year. I guess I should be happy that I got this pick correct. Note to self: Do not draft Alvin Kamara in fantasy next season.

Lions @ Jets 20-17

I just knew that the Lions were going to win this game and I love being right! With this win the Lions and the Jets have the same record. Rewind 7 weeks and their records were vastly different and I would’ve picked the Jets to win. The Lions were 1-7 going into week 9 while the Jets were 5-3. The Lions have definitely turned around their season, the Jets, not so much.

Steelers @ Panthers 24-16

Ummmmm. What happened to Pat Freiermuth? He finished the day in fantasy with 0.0 points. That hurt me, but it didn’t seem to hurt the Steelers any. Of course D.J. Moore, on my bench, had a  touchdown for Carolina after he had zero catches last week. It’s a good possibility that if I had started Moore, and Freiermuth wasn’t in witness protection this week, I would’ve won in fantasy… I mean I only lost by 20 points. Ugh!

Cowboys @ Jaguars 34-40 OT

The Jags upset the Cowboys!!!!!!!! It was amazing. Yes, it took overtime but that doesn’t matter. Anytime the Cowboys lose it’s a good day for Giants fans. I mean, we did help them to clinch a spot in the playoffs with our win, but they still lost and that gives me great joy.

Chiefs @ Texans 30-24 OT

This was almost a trap game. Yikes! The Chiefs pulled off the win but it was too close for comfort. It really shouldn't have taken overtime to do it, but the Chiefs were not playing well.. They were lucky that they got the win at all.

Cardinals @ Broncos 15-24

The Cardinals are so lost without Kyler Murray. It’s amazing how one person can affect an entire team. The Broncos defense stepped up and got the win for Denver with help from backup quarterback Brett Rypien. It was the Broncos first win since October.

Patriots @ Raiders 24-30

Oh my god, this game. Well, the ending anyway. Tied with just seconds left in the game, the Patriots had a chance to send it into overtime. But then, for some reason Jakobi Myers thought it best to attempt a lateral with no time remaining and Chandler Jones intercepted the ball, steam rolled over Mac Jones, and took it into the endzone to end the game. Hindsight is always 20/20 and the Pats should've just let the game go into overtime.

Titans @ Chargers 14-17

This game was one of the least exciting games on Sunday. It was sloppy, neither quarterback threw a touchdown pass but both had interceptions. It was a run-heavy game where both Derrick Henry and Austin Ekler were the obvious playmakers.

Bengals @ Buccaneers 34-23

The Bucs were up 17-0 at one point and 17-3 going into the half.  The Bengals made some adjustments at the half and never looked back. Joe Burrow threw four touchdown passes in the second half to take the lead and beat the Bucs. It’s safe to say that Tom Brady was not happy after his 8th loss of the season, which is the most losses he’s ever had in a season. Also, Tom Brady’s record when up 17 points was 89-0 in his career. Now he’s 89-1.

NY Giants @ Commanders 20-12

G-MEN!!!! Danny Jones has finally won a primetime game, the first of his NFL career, and he did it without turning the ball over! Saquon Barkley also had a great second half finishing the game with 87 rushing yards and a touchdown.  I made sure to have all my working out done so I could focus on the game. I wore my favorite Giants t-shirt, my favorite Giants pants, I even wore my favorite lucky unmentionables and I had my knitting needles ready. The game started off slow but as time went by the intensity heightened. Rookie Kayvon Thibodeaux was a beast on defense. He forced a Taylor Heinicke fumble, which he recovered and rushed in for a touchdown, as well as three tackles for losses. There were a couple of questionable calls in the last minutes of the game, but I still think the Giants would’ve won the game. Honestly, the officiating has been garbage this season as a whole so I am not surprised, just glad that the calls went the Giants way for the first time in what seemed like forever.

Rams @ Packers 12-24

I’m going to be honest. I didn’t really watch this game, like at all. I decided that I would make cookies instead. They were delicious. Chocolate brownie cookies with peppermint bark. This game was boring and not even the Manningcast made me want to watch it.

WEEK 15

Thursday, December 23rd

Jaguars (6-8) @ Jets (7-7) (8:15pm Prime Video)

I guess I’ll pick the Jets to win, only because they are the home team. I wouldn’t be surprised if I was wrong though.

Saturday, December 24th

Bills (11-3) @ Bears (3-11) (1pm CBS)

It’s supposed to be a balmy 14 degrees when this game starts Saturday afternoon. I think the Bears will play hard but the Bills will get the win.

Saints (5-9) @ Browns (6-8) (1pm CBS)

It is supposed to be even colder in Cleveland; 10 degrees at the start of this game. I am picking the Browns to win this game and I would be SHOCKED if Alvin Kamara gets into the endzone.

Texans (1-12-1) @ Titans (7-7) (1pm CBS)

17 degrees at the start of this game. I’m picking the Titans to win and am predicting it to be a run heavy Derrick Henry game. Sorry fantasy managers who are playing against Henry this week.

Seahawks (7-7) @ Chiefs (11-3) (1pm FOX)

It’ll be 11 degrees at the start of this game. Burrr. I’m picking the Chiefs to win this game.

NY Giants (8-5-1) @ Vikings (11-3) (1pm FOX)

It’s supposed to be 2 degrees at the start of this game, but the Vikings have an indoor stadium so the weather shouldn’t be a factor. The Vikings already have a spot in the playoffs so hopefully they will rest some of their players. The Giants could punch their ticket into the playoffs with a win, Washington loss,  and a Seahawks or Lions loss.

Fingers crossed. I’m picking the Giants to win as an early Christmas present to me and all the Giants fans! Go G-Men!!!!

Bengals (10-4) @ Patriots (7-7) (1pm CBS)

It’ll be 19 degrees at the start of this game. Both teams play pretty well in the cold. I am picking the Bengals to win this game.

Lions (7-7) @ Panthers (5-9) (1pm FOX)

It’s supposed to be 28 degrees in Charlotte, North Carolina at the start of this game. For Charlotte, that’s super cold. I think both teams will struggle but I think that the Lions will come out on top.

Falcons (5-9) @ Ravens (9-5) (1pm FOX)

It’ll be 20 degrees in Baltimore. The Falcons aren’t playing well, no matter the temperature. I’m picking the Ravens to win this game.

Commanders (7-6-1) @ 49ers (10-4)  (4:05pm CBS)

Weather shouldn’t be a factor in this game. It’ll be a warm 58 degrees in Santa Clara. I’m picking the 49ers to win this game and I’m hoping I’m not wrong.

Eagles (13-1) @ Cowboys (10-4)  (4:25pm FOX)

It’s going to be cold in Arlington but Jerry World is a dome so weather shouldn’t be a problem. The big problem for the Eagles is their star quarterback will not start because of a shoulder injury. Gardner Minshew will get the start for the Eagles. Philadelphia only needs one more win to secure the first round bye in the playoffs. I’d like the Eagles to get the win before they play the Giants in the last game of the season. All that being said I think that the Eagles defense is better than the Cowboys so I am going to pick the Eagles to sweep the Cowboys this season.

Raiders (6-8) @ Steelers (6-8)  (8:15pm NFLN)

It’s going to be about 11 degrees at the start of this game and it’s just going to get colder. I’m picking the Steelers to win, as they know how to play in cold weather. The Raiders, not so much.

Sunday, December 25th

Packers (6-8) @ Dolphins (8-6)  (1pm FOX)

The Packers are technically alive in the playoff hunt but they need to win this game to keep hopes alive. I think that the Dolphins are going to crush that hope and win this game for Miami.

Broncos (4-10) @ Rams (4-10)  (4:30pm CBS)

Temperature won’t be a problem for this domed stadium. Both teams have the same record but the Broncos have the better defense. I’m hoping that Russell Wilson will get a win on Christmas day, so I am picking the Broncos to win.

Buccaneers (6-8) @ Cardinals (4-10) (8:20pm NBC)

There won’t be a weather factor at this game either. I’m picking the Bucs to win.

Monday, December 26th

Chargers (8-6) @ Colts (4-9-1) (8:15pm ESPN/ABC)

I don’t think the Colts are going to win any more games this season. With Jonathon Taylor out and them probably benching Matt Ryan, their season is pretty much over. I’m picking the Chargers to win this game.

GO G-MEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the edit Eric!

The Shenoa Report
December 15, 2022
Regular Season Week 15

I am so ready for this stupid fantasy season to be over so I don’t have to be upset with all things football. Of course I lost in fantasy, the Giants lost, and I went 7-6 on my picks.

I know I’ll miss football the third week in February until it comes back the third week in August but, man I am not loving football right now.

I celebrated my birthday this past Tuesday and I was hoping that the Giants would give me an early birthday present with a win. Instead they lost by 26, so that was cool… And fantasy football, that’s just stupid this season. I don’t know what I did karma football wise, but I am sorry.

We’ll have football games Thursday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday night for week 15 and there are no more byes!

Before we get to week 15 let’s recap the ridiculousness of week 14…

Raiders @ Rams 16-17

I’m pretty sure not many people actually stayed up to watch the entirety of the game because 55 out of the 60 minutes it was pretty unwatchable. But those last 5 minutes were pretty exciting. You see, Baker Mayfield was waived by the Panthers on Monday of last week and picked up on Wednesday by the Rams. He led not one but two touchdown drives late in the fourth quarter to win the game. It was incredible to watch. I’m happy for Baker, he’s gotten the short end of the stick with his two former teams, hopefully this team does better by him.

Jets @ Bills 12-20

Another weather win for the Bills. Buffalo seemingly has the worst weather out of all the NFL stadiums and this game was no sunshine and rainbows kind of day. The weather went back and forth from snow to rain to freezing rain and a lot of wind. Luckily for the Bills they thrive in that type of weather and were able to win the game without any big problems.

Browns @ Bengals 10-23

In this battle of Ohio it was the Bengals who took the W. The Browns are struggling as of late. I don’t think that Deshawn Watson was the savior they were hoping for. The Bengals lost some key players in this win, both Tyler Boyd and Tee Higgins exited the game early, but they didn’t seem to miss them on the field. The Bengals have the next man up mentality and it lets them win games.

Texans @ Cowboys 23-27

I thought for just a moment near the end of the game that the Texans were going to pull off a major upset. It would’ve been amazing. But the battle of Texas was won by the stupid Cowboys because the Texans finished like the team they’ve been all season.

Vikings @ Lions 23-34

I’d like to say to the Lions, you’re welcome. Ever since they beat the Giants they’ve looked really good. It’s like the Giants gave them all the confidence they needed. Beating the Vikings, a division rival, must have the team feeling elated. So, you’re welcome Lions fans.

Eagles @ NY Giants 48-22

My mom said if you don’t have anything nice to say you shouldn’t say anything at all.

I have nothing to say.

Nothing.

Ravens @ Steelers 16-14

The Ravens had their most improbable win of the season. With Lamar Jackson already out due to injury Tyler Huntley got the start. Huntley then went into concussion protocol so the third string quarterback, Anthony Brown, finished the game. The Steelers didn’t fare much better. Their starting quarterback Kenny Pickett, also left the game and he also entered the concussion protocol with Mitch Trubisky coming in to relieve him. Mitch did not have what it takes to win the game for the Steelers, though he did throw a touchdown pass to Pat Freiermuth late in the fourth but he also threw 3 interceptions, all in Baltimore territory.

Jaguars @ Titans 36-22

The Titans always have the Jags number when they come to Nashville. So maybe they looked past this game? Either way, I don’t think the Titans will look past the Jags again anytime soon. Trevor Lawrence had the best day of his career passing for 368 yards, 3 passing touchdowns, and one rushing touchdown. The Titans didn’t fare as well, clearly, look at the score.

Chiefs @ Broncos 34-28

I feel so bad for Russell Wilson. He was actually playing his best game this season and got knocked out cold. He looked like a toddler who just woke up from a nap. It wasn’t pretty. I know that the Broncos were never expected to win this game, but they really had a chance until Wilson and the concussion protocol. Patrick Mahomes, on the other hand, was having the worst game of his season. He had 3 touchdowns but also 3 interceptions. In the end the Chiefs got the win, but I wonder if they would’ve if Russell got to finish the game.

Buccaneers @ 49ers 7-35

This game was simply embarrassing especially if you are a Tom Brady fan or a Bucs fan. I mean, the 49ers started Mr. Irrelevant at quarterback. For those of you who don’t know who Mr. Irrelevant is, He is the person who was picked very last in their draft class. Therefore, Brock Purdy, was the very last player picked in the NFL draft for the 2022 season. OF all people, Tom should be able to sympathize with Brock. Brady wasn’t picked last but he didn’t get picked until the 7th round and he still has that chip on his shoulder. Anyway, this just shows how good the 49ers are, they are still winning with Mr. Irrelevant.

Panthers @ Seahawks 30-24

The Panthers shocked me. I didn’t think they’d get the win, especially after the Seahawks win last week. Any given Sunday. Am I right? I got this pick wrong.

Dolphins @ Chargers 17-23

Speaking of wrong picks, I got this one wrong too. I think that Justin Herbert is happy that Keenan Allen is back and healthy. I’m sure his fantasy managers are also happy. I was shocked that the Dolphins lost, but I’m also ok with it.

Patriots @ Cardinals 27-13

Thank god for the ManningCast. This game was terrible! It felt like every other play there was a penalty or an injury. I stayed up way too late and that’s only because it was fun to watch the Mannings pick on each other throughout the game. There were so many injuries I’m not going to list them all. The most notable was Kyler Murray, who was carted off the field with a towel over his head because he was so emotional. He's done for the season with a torn ACL. As for the ManningCast, my favorite guest was Keegan-Michael Key. He was funny and saved the evening in my opinion.

WEEK 15

Thursday, December 15th

49ers (9-4) @ Seahawks (7-6) (8:15pm Prime Video)

The 49ers are planning on starting 3rd string quarterback Brock Purdy who suffered an oblique strain in their win last week. He played through the pain then and will most likely play through it again. The 49ers don’t have much of a choice. The Seahawks are also playing with many injuries. All that being said I am going to pick the 49ers to win this game.

Saturday, December 17th

Colts (4-8-1) @ Vikings (10-3) (1pm NFLN)

The Vikings should have won last week. I think they’ll do it this week. I am picking Minnesota to win this game.

Ravens (9-4) @ Browns (5-8) (4:30pm NFLN)

I’m picking the Ravens to win even though the Browns seem to be their kryptonite.

Dolphins (8-5) @ Bills (10-3) (8:15pm NFLN)

In this divisional game, I’m picking the Bills to win and no, it’s not because they re-signed Cole Beasly.

Sunday, December 18th

Eagles (12-1) @ Bears (3-10) (1pm FOX)

I really really really hope that Da Bears stun the Eagles. Now I know that’s extremely unlikely so I’ll be rooting for the Bears but picking the Eagles for the win.

Falcons (5-8) @ Saints (4-9) (1pm FOX)

This is another divisional game that the Saints should win. Who knows if they will. Not so fun fact: Kamara has only 3 touchdowns this season, and they all came in one game.  Alvin Kamara is on my fantasy team and that’s why it’s not so fun. I guess I’ll pick the Saints to win this game that they should totally win.

Lions (6-7) @ Jets (7-6) (1pm CBS)

I’m going against better judgment and I am picking the Lions to win this game, for no other reason than I don’t want the Jets to have a better record than the Giants.

Steelers (5-8) @ Panthers (5-8) (1pm CBS)

The Steelers are pretty beat up but the Panthers are not so hot either. I’m going to pick the Steelers for the win, which means that D.J. Moore will have three touchdowns for Carolina, and he’ll be sitting on my bench after he had zero catches last week.

Cowboys (10-3) @ Jaguars (5-8) (1pm FOX)

I’d love to see the Jags upset the Cowboys, I mean the Texans almost did it last week. I’m picking the Cowboys to win.

Chiefs (10-3) @ Texans (1-11-1)  (1pm CBS)

Is this a trap game? Probably not. I’m picking the Chiefs to win.

Cardinals (4-9) @ Broncos (3-10)  (4:05pm FOX)

I don’t think either team will have their starting quarterback. The Cards definitely will not have Kyler and I think Russell Wilson will still be in concussion protocol. I think that the Broncos have a better defense so I am going to pick Denver to win this game.

Patriots (7-6) @ Raiders (5-8)  (4:05pm FOX)

I’ll be rooting for the Patriots but I am picking the Raiders to win this game.

Titans (7-6) @ Chargers (7-6)  (4:25pm CBS)

The Chargers are playing pretty good football as of late. I think I am going to pick LA to win the game.

Bengals (9-4) @ Buccaneers (6-7)  (4:25pm CBS)

I dropped Tom Brady in fantasy last week. I’m picking the Bengals to win this game.

NY Giants (7-5-1) @ Commanders (7-5-1) (8:20pm NBC)

I just did a big, huge, eye roll. You didn’t see it, but I am sure you can imagine it. The NFL thought it would be a good idea to flex this game for Sunday night. We’ll see…  The Giants need this win to stay in the Wild Card race… I’m picking the Giants to win this game. I’m hoping that if I pick them to win then I can also will it into being. GO G-MEN!

Monday, December 19th

Rams (4-9) @ Packers (5-8) (8:15pm ESPN/ABC)

I’d love to see the Baker Mayfield led Rams beat the Packers. It isn’t likely, therefore I am picking the Packers to win this game.

GO G-MEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the edit Eric!

The Shenoa Report Week 14 '22 #theshenoareport

The Shenoa Report
December 8, 2022
Regular Season Week 14

Week 13 wasn’t as lucky as I’d hoped it to be. I lost in fantasy, which propelled my partner into the fantasy playoffs, while I’ll be in the consolation bracket.  The Giants didn’t lose but they didn’t win either. The only silver lining to week 13 was my picks. I went 13-2!!!!!!!

Before we get to week 14 let’s recap the ridiculousness of week 12…

Bills @ Patriots 24-10

It’s not surprising that the Bills won. At least I didn’t think so.

Steelers @ Falcons 19-16

The Steelers got the win but the Falcons didn’t go down without a fight. It was the Steelers defense that really stepped up and only allowed one touchdown.

Broncos @ Ravens 9-10

I really thought that the Broncos were actually going to pull off a win. With Lamar Jackson pulled from the game due to a knee injury Denver actually led most of the game. But then they were the Broncos and they let the Ravens score in the very last seconds of the game.

Packers @ Bears 28-19

It looks like Aaron Rodgers still owns the Bears. At least he got my new favorite wide receiver, Christian Watson, involved to get me enough fantasy points that I was annoyed by losing.

Jaguars @ Lions 14-40

The Lions look like a completely different team these last few weeks and they made that abundantly clear when they throttled the Jags.

Browns @ Texans 27-14

Every single time Deshawn Watson had the ball he was booed. Houston was, for sure, in his head. The Browns didn’t have an offensive touchdown, but their defense made a statement and won the game for Cleveland.

NY Jets @ Vikings 22-27

OOOOOOhhhhh the Vikings almost lost this game. It was super close and very intense. Not as intense as the next game though. I think it was pure luck that the Vikings pulled off this win.

Commanders @ NY Giants 20-20 OT

This game was tough to watch. The Refs were garbage, the Giants played like garbage, and Brian Daboll forgot that he was the tough, ballsy coach we know him to be. Poor play calling, poor clock management, and not enough chance taking. At least the Giants didn’t lose? Well, they didn’t win either and that’s way more disappointing.

Titans @ Eagles 10-35

Of course the Eagles won and of course it wasn’t even close. Ugh.

Seahawks @ Rams 27-23

Geno Smith found a new best friend in DK Metcalf, both of whom are on my partner's team, who I played in fantasy. They combined for 49 fantasy points. It’s no wonder the Seahawks won this game.

Dolphins @ 49ers 17-33

The 49ers replaced Jimmy G after he broke his foot with Mr. Irrelevant at quarterback, Brock Purdy, and the 49ers still won the game without batting an eye. It must have been pretty humbling for the Dolphins.

Chiefs @ Bengals 24-27

This was one of the picks I got wrong. I am still surprised that the Bengals beat the Chiefs and even more surprised that the Bengals didn’t let the Chiefs score in the 4th quarter.

Chargers @ Raiders 20-27

This was the other game I got wrong. But really? Did you think the Raiders were going to win this game? No, no you didn’t!

Colts @ Cowboys 19-54

This game got out of hand and it happened so fast. The whole second half was super ugly. I’m going to be honest. I didn’t really watch it.

Saints @ Buccaneers 16-17

You never count out Tom Brady. Coming into the fourth quarter the Bucs were down 16-3.  In the last 5 minutes of the game the Bucs scored a touchdown, got the ball back, and marched down the field and scored again. It was crazy. You never count out the goat. This was the second time this season where Tom Brady threw a comeback touchdown pass to win the game with just 15 or fewer seconds left. This game winning touchdown came with just 3 seconds left.

WEEK 14

Thursday, December 8th

Raiders (5-7) @ Rams (3-9) (8:15pm Prime Video)

The Rams picked up Baker Mayfield and he might get the start for the Rams. If he does, I’m picking the Rams to win.

Sunday, December 11th

Jets (7-5) @ Bills (9-3) (1pm CBS)

I’m picking the Bills to win this divisional matchup.

Browns (5-7) @ Bengals (8-4) (1pm CBS)

I’m picking the Bengals to win this game but I’m hoping that Deshawn Watson does better than last week because I have to start him in hopes of winning the consolation bracket.

Texans (1-10-1) @ Cowboys (9-3) (1pm FOX)

I’m picking the Cowboys for the win, it’s kind of a no brainer.

Vikings (10-2) @ Lions (5-7) (1pm FOX)

The Lions are looking good as of late. Will it be enough to beat their division rival? I don’t think so. I’m picking the Vikings to win this game.

Eagles (11-1) @ NY Giants (7-4-1) (1pm FOX)

Ugh. I am not looking forward to this game. Maybe the Giants will get the win in this divisional matchup as an early birthday present to me. I can hope and dream right? I’m picking the Eagles to win. Please Daboll, let me be wrong in my pick! Go G-Men!

Ravens (8-4) @ Steelers (5-7) (1pm CBS)

With Lamar Jackson out I am going to pick the Steelers to win this game.

Jaguars (4-8) @ Titans (7-5) (1pm CBS)

The Titans fired their GM this past week and they are leading their division! I’m picking the Titans to win this game.

Chiefs (9-3) @ Broncos (3-9) (4:05pm CBS)

I’m still surprised that the Chiefs lost last week. They won’t lose 2 in a row. I’m picking the Chiefs for the win.

Buccaneers (6-6) @ 49ers (8-4)  (4:25pm FOX)

Even with Jimmy G out with a broken foot I’m still going to pick the 49ers to win this game. But I’d be quite happy if the Bucs pulled off the upset.

Panthers (4-8) @ Seahawks (7-5)  (4:25pm FOX)

The Panthers are fresh off their bye week but I don’t think it’s going to make much of a difference. I’m picking the Seahawks to win this game.

Dolphins (8-4) @ Chargers (6-6) (8:20pm NBC)

I think that the Dolphins will win this game and that’s who I’m picking to win.

Monday, December 12th

Patriots (6-6) @ Cardinals (4-8) (8:15pm ESPN/ABC)

Neither team is very good. The Cardinals are fresh off their bye so I am going to pick them for the win.

The Saints, Packers, Bears, Commanders, Falcons, and Colts are all on bye this week, so they can’t lose.

Tuesday, December 13th

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!!!!!!!

GO G-MEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the edit Eric!

The Shenoa Report Week 13 '22 #theshenoareport

The Shenoa Report
December 1, 2022
Regular Season Week 13

Week 12 games feel like so long ago. Since last week I’ve been in 10 different states. When I travel I feel like I go through a time warp. It was great to spend time with family and friends but it’s also nice to be back home. Obviously football was on but it wasn’t the focal point of the trip. No, not even the Giants game. The games were on but the sound was off. It was nice, even though the Giants lost. I won in fantasy and my picks were better 11-5.

We are now into December and I’m looking forward to lucky week 13. I think I’m mathematically out of the fantasy playoffs but I play my partner this week so hopefully I’ll at least gain some bragging rights. I’m also hoping the Giants can bounce back and get a W in a divisional contest they need to win badly.

Before we get to week 13 let’s recap the ridiculousness of week 12…

Bills @ Lions 28-25

This game was too close for comfort for Bills fans as the Lions actually led a couple of times. But in the end the game was decided on 2 field goals. With just over 2 minutes left in the game Michael Badgley kicked a 51 yard field goal to tie the game. Then, with 21 seconds left in the game Tyler Bass kicked the game winning field goal from 45 yards out.

NY Giants @ Cowboys 20-28

Can I just say that it really sucks when your team is up at halftime and then forgets how to play as a team in the second half. It really sucks. It also sucks having such an injury ridden team. It sucks losing. It sucks, it sucks, it sucks.

Patriots @ Vikings 26-33

The Vikings had no problem beating the Patriots on Thanksgiving night. I just wish they had utilized Dalvin Cook more.

Buccaneers @ Browns 17-23 OT

I had a feeling if this game went into overtime the Browns would win it. And that’s exactly what happened. In other news, Nick Chubb continues to be really good.

Bengals @ Titans 20-16

Treylon Burks got his first touchdown of his NFL career on a Derrick Henry fumble recovery in the endzone for the Titans. This was good news for Burks fans and bad news for Henry fans.  But it wasn’t enough to win the game. Joe Burrow had the game all wrapped up early in the fourth quarter with a touchdown pass to Tee Higgins to put the game away.

Texans  @ Dolphins 15-30

The Dolphins defense had no problem containing second string quarterback Kyle Allen in this very one sided game. Looking at the Texans record it’s not breaking news that Houston is bad this season.

 Bears @ NY Jets 10-31

The Bears had no chance at winning without Justin Fields. It was an ugly, very wet game where, for the Jets, the quarterback change worked in their favor. Mike White threw for 315 yards and had 3 touchdowns in this win over Chicago.

Falcons @ Commanders 13-19

The Commanders are the better team so it’s no surprise they won this game. I mean, I’m not surprised.

Broncos @ Panthers 10-23

When Sam Darnold makes your team look good the other team must be really bad. I heard a stat this past week that QB Russell Wilson was ranked 33rd in a league of 32 teams. Ouch.

Ravens @ Jaguars 27-28

I think the Jags are tired of losing. They played so hard and so well to get the W in this matchup. I think that Ravens fans and NFL fans alike were stunned when the Jags went for two to win the game. And they did.

Chargers @ Cardinals 25-24

Kyler Murray was back under center but it wasn’t enough to get the win. Justin Herbert had 3 touchdowns and 274 yards to Murray’s 191 yards, 2 touchdowns, and 1 interception.

Raiders @ Seahawks 40-34 OT

Josh Jacobs had a day. He had a really good day. He had 229 rushing yards and two touchdowns. His last touchdown came in overtime and was an 87 yard run! Incredible. Also, if you had him on your fantasy team this week, congratulations, you most likely won.

Rams @ Chiefs 10-26

Of course the Chiefs won. The Rams should just forfeit the rest of their games. They can’t afford anyone else to get injured or they won't have a team next year.

Saints @ 49ers 0-13

The Saints laid a big goose egg and I’m thinking about benching Kamara this coming week. Kamara had 2 fumbles and less rushing yards than Andy Dalton, who finished with 21 rushing yards. For the third consecutive game the 49ers defense shutout their opponents in the second half of the game.

Packers @ Eagles 33-40

The Eagles took the win while taking Aaron Rodgers out of the game. Rodgers left the game in the second half, not because of his broken thumb but because of a rib injury. Jordan Love took over for Rodgers, connecting with Christian Watson on a 63 yard touchdown pass in the 4th quarter. This put the Packers in reach of a possible upset but the Eagles were able to hang on for the win.

Steelers @ Colts 24-17

The Steelers got the win even though it cost them a Najee Harris injury that sidelined him for the rest of the game. Benny Snell Jr. took over for the injured Harris and made a day out of it. He even got his first touchdown of his NFL career.

WEEK 13

Thursday, December 1st

Bills (8-3) @ Patriots (6-5) (8:15pm Prime Video)

I’m picking the Bills to win this game. It should be a good one. Division rivalry games usually are.

Sunday, December 4th

Steelers (4-7) @ Falcons (5-7) (1pm CBS)

I’m picking the Steelers to win this game. They are playing pretty decent football as of late.

Broncos (3-8) @ Ravens (7-4) (1pm CBS)

I’m picking the Ravens to win this game. They lost a super close one last week and I don’t think that the Broncos have any capability of pulling off this upset.

Packers (4-8) @ Bears (3-9) (1pm FOX)

Will Aaron Rodgers be back? Will Justin Fields be back? Regardless, I’m picking the Packers to win this game.

 Jaguars (4-7) @ Lions (4-7) (1pm FOX)

I’m actually going to pick the Lions to win this game.

Browns (4-7) @ Texans (1-9-1) (1pm CBS)

Deshawn Watson will be starting against his former team this Sunday. He hasn’t played a snap in over two years. I’m pretty sure the Texans will be very sad for letting him go after the Browns kick their butts. I’m picking the Browns for the win.

NY Jets (7-4) @ Vikings (9-2) (1pm CBS)

I’m picking the Vikings for the win. I need them to win so much that their week 16 game against the Giants will be meaningless for them and hopefully a game that the Giants can win.

Commanders (7-5) @ NY Giants (7-4) (1pm FOX)

Chase Young will be back for the Commanders just in time to play the Giants. Cool. I’m a glutton for punishment so I am picking the Giants to win this game. We need this game so much if we are going to have any chance at making the playoffs.

Titans (7-4) @ Eagles (10-1) (1pm FOX)

I’m picking the Eagles to win but I wouldn’t mind if the Titans upset them.

Seahawks (6-5) @ Rams (3-8)  (4:05pm FOX)

I’m picking the Seahawks to win. I don’t know who the Rams would have to play in order for me to pick LA.

Dolphins (8-3) @ 49ers (7-4)  (4:05pm FOX)

I’m picking the 49ers to win. I hear their defense is pretty good.

Chiefs (9-2) @ Bengals (7-4) (4:25pm CBS)

I’m picking the Chiefs to win. Though it should be a close game.

Chargers (6-5) @ Raiders (4-7) (4:25pm CBS)

I’m picking the Chargers to win. They are the better team.

Colts (4-7-1) @ Cowboys(8-3) (8:20pm NBC)

I’m picking the Cowboys to win but I wouldn’t be at all upset if I was wrong.

Monday, December 5th

Saints (4-8) @ Buccaneers (5-6) (8:15pm ESPN/ABC)

The Saints are terrible. I’m picking the Bucs to win this game.

The Cardinals and the Panthers are both on bye this week, so they can’t lose.

GO G-MEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the edit Eric!
