Regular Season Week 8

Week 7 was rough for me in the fantasy world, I lost by 76.62 points. It gets worse, if I had played 6 other teams in my league this past week I would’ve won. Oh well. I did better on my picks, going 9-5 which is way better than last week. Also THE NEW YORK FOOTBALL GIANTS ARE 6-1!!!!!!!!!! Going into this season I was pretty sure they would only have 4 wins the entire season. I’m glad they have proved me wrong. Keep it up!

The trade deadline is quickly approaching and there have already been some big moves. Last week Christian McCaffrey was traded to the 49ers on Thursday night and James Robinson was traded from the Jags to the NY Jets Monday night. The Eagles picked up Robert Quinn from the Bears and the Cowboys picked up Johnathan Hankins from the Raiders. Just today Kadarius Toney was traded from the Giants to the Chiefs, because the one thing Kansas City doesn’t have enough of is wide receivers.

Before we get to week 7 let’s recap week 6 and all the craziness that ensued.

Saints @ Cardinals 34-42

The Cardinals showed up big and finally snapped that 8 game losing streak at home. For me and fantasy, Kamara and Hill put up 27 combined points which was a good start but the next game on my recap would end me.

Falcons @ Bengals 17-35

Joe Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase killed me and my fantasy dreams. 73 points combined. Ouch. I don’t want to talk about it anymore.

Lions @ Cowboys 6-24

It looked like the Lions had so much potential during Hard Knocks. This just isn’t the case. Dak Prescott was back for the Cowboys and the Lions couldn’t handle it.

Colts @ Titans 10-19

The Titans won the game and led to Matt Ryan being benched by the Colts for the rest of the season. I didn’t realize that Ryan suffered an injury. I thought he was just benched for being bad.

Packers @ Commanders 21-23

Can the Packers lose three in a row?!?! YUP! I think it's now safe to say the Packers are not the Packers of yesteryear and Aaron Rodgers isn’t the magician people thought.

Buccaneers @ Panthers 3-21

This game was just plain embarrassing. The Bucs lost to the Panthers?!?! This should’ve been a week 6 game when all the games seemed to be major upsets. Though the Bucs have been struggling all year so this shouldn’t come as a shock.  In other news I’m benching Tom Brady next week. Awful. Just awful.

NY Giants @ Jaguars 23-17

The Giants win again!!!!!! Ooof this one was a nail biter. I mean, they’ve all been nail biters. But this was the most nail biting of them all so far this season. The play of the game was actually the last play of the game. The Jags were about to score a touchdown from a Trevor Lawrence pass to Christian Kirk at the one yard line and the Giants defenders stopped Kirk and pile-drove him away from the endzone as time expired. Too close for comfort but we still got the W! On top of that we did it short handed. Evan Neal, starting offensive linemen, and Daniel Bellinger, tight end, left the game in the first half due to injuries. We also lost left guard Ben Bredeson who had to be carted off. Bredeson and Neal both had knee injuries but it was Bellinger who had to be rushed to the hospital with a hand to the face and a finger to the eye socket. Wishing speedy recoveries for all!

Browns @ Ravens 20-23

The Ravens finally won a game after losing the last 3 and the Browns lost another close one.

NY Jets @ Broncos 16-9

With Russell Wilson out, the Jets had no challenge getting this win. The Jets are now 5-2 on the season. That was a weird sentence to type.

Texans @ Raiders 20-38

The Raiders, who aren’t very good to begin with,  made the already poor Texans look even worse…the end

Seahawks @ Chargers 37-23

Geno Smith is like a fine wine. He gets better with age. He’s been in the league for what seems to be an eternity and yet has only just started to know what it feels like to win. I mean, good for him. Initially he was so bad that even the Jets didn’t want him, he was a NY Giant for a hot minute only to end Eli Manning’s consecutive start streak, and now he’s winning in Seattle. Good for him.

Chiefs @ 49ers 44-23

Someone keeps telling me that the 49ers have the 3rd best defense in the league. Well not against the Chiefs, I lost 4 points starting this dumb defense. In other news, Mecole Hardman had 3 touchdowns in this rout over San Francisco.  Geez.

Steelers @  Dolphins 10-16

This game was much closer than I anticipated but I still got the pick correct so that makes me happy.

Bears @ Patriots 33-14

The Patriots did not look good. Thankfully we had Peyton and Eli to get us through the game. Peyton was so mad when the Bears had a chance to score a touchdown at the end of the game and instead kneeled. When asked why he was so upset, he said, “when you have a chance to score 40 points in Foxborough and beat the Pats, you score 40 points.”

WEEK 8

Thursday, October 27th

Ravens (4-3) @ Buccaneers (3-4) (8:15pm PRIME VIDEO)

I’m benching Tom Terrific and I am picking the Ravens for the win.

Sunday, October 30th

Broncos (2-5) @ Jaguars (2-5) (9:30am ESPN+)

If I remember correctly the Jags are pretty good when they play in London and it just so happens they are playing in London! I’m picking the Jags to win this game.

Panthers (2-5) @ Falcons (3-4) (1pm FOX)

Who knows which team we’ll get this week? Most of the time these teams look atrocious. But, sometimes both teams surprise us. I guess I’ll pick the Panthers to win this game.

Bears (3-4) @ Cowboys (5-2) (1pm FOX)

Can the Bears win 2 games in a row? I don’t think so, therefore, I’m picking the Cowboys to win this game.

Dolphins (4-3) @ Lions (1-5)  (1pm CBS)

I’m picking the Dolphins for the win. Sorry Lions fans.

Cardinals (3-4) @ Vikings (5-1) (1pm FOX)

The Vikings are coming off their bye while the Cards are coming off a huge win. I’m picking the Vikings to win this game, but I wouldn’t be surprised if the bye doesn’t help.

Raiders (2-4) @ Saints (2-5)  (1pm CBS)

When in doubt go with the home team. I said this same thing last time the Saints played at home and they lost. Well, I’m doing it again. I’m picking the Saints to win. Go Kamara!

Patriots (3-4) @ NY Jets (5-2)  (1pm CBS)

The year is 2022 and I am picking the NY Jets to beat the Patriots. This is a sentence I wouldn’t even type as a joke 5 years ago.

Steelers (2-5)  @ Eagles (6-1) (1pm CBS)

Speaking of 5 years ago, I would have picked the Steelers to beat the Eagles. Here in 2022, the Eagles are fresh off their bye week, and I’m picking the Eagles to win this game.

Titans (4-2) @ Texans (1-4-1) (4:05pm CBS)

I’m starting to feel bad for the Texans. I’m going to have to pick the Titans to win this game.

Commanders (3-4) @ Colts (3-3-1) (4:25pm FOX)

The Colts could and should win this game. But will they? They have a new quarterback so they can’t blame the loss on Matt Ryan. The Commanders are also going with a backup quarterback. I guess I’ll pick the Colts to win only because it helps the Giants more.

49ers (3-4) @ Rams (3-3) (4:25pm FOX)

I need my defense to do better this week. Therefore I am picking the 49ers to win as long as they let Matt Stafford throw to Tyler Higbee for a few touchdowns.

NY Giants (6-1) @ Seahawks (4-3) (4:25pm FOX)

The Giants are doing great this season. I just wish they didn’t have to come from behind to win games. I’d like to have the lead, maintain the lead, and then win the game. Can we try that? I’m picking the Giants to win this game. Fingers crossed.

Packers (3-4) @  Bills (5-1) (8:20pm NBC)

I’m more confident in this pick than my last pick. I’m picking the Bills to win this game. I’d like to see if the Bills can make Aaron Rodgers cry. That would be the best.

Monday, October 31st

Bengals (4-3) @ Browns (2-5) (8:15pm ESPN/ABC)

I’m picking the Bengals to win this game, but it would be nice to see the Browns win instead.

GO G-MEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the edit Eric!
