Regular Season Week 15

Week 14 was awful and 15 isn’t looking good either. Ugh. Just so you know, I sat at the very top of my fantasy football league for the majority of the season. Last week was the first week of the playoffs, and I lost. Horribly.  By 60 points. I knew I should’ve started James Connor over Nick Chubb, I knew it in my heart, but instead, I listened to Matthew Berry, and my partner because, “If you have Nick Chubb, you start him”. Thanks for the advice Berry. Not to say, had I started Connor over Chubb I would’ve won, I still wouldn’t have, but the first round of playoffs are two week contests, and I would only be down 35 points not 60 coming into this week. Ugh. The only good news that came out of week 14 for me was my picks. I went 11-3.

Now, in week 15, Covid has made a comeback like never before. I’ve lost count of all the cases. The Browns, Rams, and Football Team seem to be hit the hardest as of Thursday.

Effective immediately, all 32 NFL teams will be placed in intensive COVID-19 protocols until the conclusion of Week 15. This means the reimposition of mandatory mask wearing in team facilities, social distancing, grab-and-go meal service in team cafeterias, all-virtual meetings, limits on the number of people allowed in weight rooms and restrictions on activities outside the facility.

Teams already in intensive protocols due to ongoing outbreaks will continue daily testing of all players and personnel -- vaccinated or not -- but the rest of the teams won't be subject to daily testing.

Also effective immediately, the league and the NFLPA will institute changes in the return-to-play COVID-19 protocols that will make it easier for players who are vaccinated and asymptomatic to return to practice and games. -Dan Graziano ESPN Staff Writer

Week 15 will have games tonight (Thursday), Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. Finally, no more byes, just Covid and injuries taking players out.

Week 14 is going to be painful to recap, so here it goes.

Steelers @ Vikings 28-36

I was happy to see the Steelers lose even though for a moment it looked like they were going to pull off a comeback. They scored 21 points in the fourth quarter, but it wasn’t enough for the win. #sorrynotsorry

Falcons @ Panthers 29-21

This season the Falcons are playing lights out on the road, which wasn’t a good thing for the Panthers.  On top of losing the game, the Panthers recently signed quarterback, Cam Newton, went out of the game due to a shoulder injury. Don’t worry Carolina fans, Sam Darnold will be back from IR soon… Wait… That really isn’t good news.

Ravens @ Browns 22-24

I don’t want to talk about Nick Chubb’s subpar game, or the fact that I benched the Browns defense and lost out on 13 points. I also don’t want to talk about how my opponent had Austin Hooper who had 14 points  and Mark Andrews who had 28.5 points to my tight end’s 4 points. AHHHHH! Though I will talk about Lamar Jackson having to be carted off the field after an ankle injury, this helped my benched defense tremendously.

Seahawks @ Texans 33-13

I also don’t want to talk about my opponent having Tyler Lockett who had 27 frickin points in fantasy in this rout of the Texans.

Raiders @ Chiefs 9-48

Of course Darren Waller didn’t play and of course I started Foster Moreau, who like I said, only got me 4 points. The Chiefs didn’t like the fact that the Raiders stomped on their logo before the game, and they let them know, by giving them a crushing defeat.

 Saints @ Jets 30-9

I picked up the Saints defense thinking I’d be sneaky. They didn’t do as well as the Browns but they didn’t bomb either. Yeah, the Saints did well against the Jets. Duh.

Jaguars  @ Titans 0-20

My opponent picked up the Titans defense, because of course he did. And as you can see by the final score they shut out the Jags. Cool.

Cowboys @ Washington 27-20

The Football Team clawed back and tried to win at home but it wasn’t enough as the Cowboys defense is one tough cookie. It didn’t help that Washington is super beat up and the Cowboys are rather healthy, for this week at least.

Lions @ Broncos 10-38

The Broncos won a very emotional home game. They played in honor of Demaryius Thomas, a former player who passed away last week from a seizure.  The Broncos played very, very well and every time they had a really good play they would celebrate on Thomas’ #88 which was painted on the field.

NY Giants @ Chargers 21-37

I’m not going to talk about it. It’s just too painful. Usually, when I lose in fantasy at least the Giants win. Clearly, this was not the case. It was ugly and I don't have anything more to say about it.

49ers @ Bengals 26-23 OT

This was a well balanced game and it didn’t surprise me that it went into overtime. I did get this pick wrong, because I picked the home team, but that’s ok. At least this game didn’t have any fantasy implications so I am not too broken up about it.

Bills @ Buccaneers 27-33 OT

The Bills have now lost 3 in a row, this one in overtime. Buffalo made some good changes in overtime but the damage had already been done. Obviously they were able to tie the game to send it to OT but the offense went 3 and out and then the Bills defense couldn’t stop Tom Brady once again. It’s the same old story, just a different season.

Bears @ Packers 30-45

Clearly Aaron Rodgers still owns the Bears. I really didn’t think this game would be that high scoring. Boy was I wrong. Do yourself a favor and google Aaron Rodgers doppelganger.  I swear the guy in the stands at this game looked more like Rodgers than the real AR looks.

Rams @ Cardinals 30-23

There was no Manning cast to look forward to and the Rams and Cardinals did NOT give me a birthday present. Instead, my fantasy team, being Rams and Cardinals heavy, was not the gift I’d been looking for. My QB Kyler Murray had no touchdowns and 2 interceptions. I’ve already told you that I sat Connor so I’m not going to talk about that again. Instead I started Sony Michele who had 5 points. Cool. OBJ and Cooper Kupp did well but, my opponent started Matt Stafford. I’m just glad week 14 is over.

WEEK 15

Thursday, December 16th

I am so fed up with fantasy football right now that I am simply picking the games this week.

Chiefs (9-4) @ Chargers (8-5) (8:20pm FOX/NFLN)

I am going to pick the Chiefs to win this game.

Saturday, December 18th

Raiders (6-7) @ Browns (7-6) (4:30pm NFLN)

If the Browns have enough players not in COVID protocol and they actually play this game, I’m picking the Browns to win.

Patriots (9-4) @ Colts (7-6) (8:15pm NFLN)

I’m picking the Patriots to win this game, but I wouldn’t be surprised if the Colts actually pulled off the win.

Sunday, December 19th

Panthers (5-8) @ Bills (7-6) (1pm FOX)

As long as the Bills don’t play down to their opponent’s level they will win this game. I am picking the Bills to win.

Jets (3-10) @ Dolphins (6-7) (1pm CBS)

I am picking the Dolphins to win this game.

 Washington (6-7) @ Eagles (6-7) (1pm FOX)

As much as I’d like to see the Football Team win this game I’m going to have to pick the Eagles for the win. In a perfect world this game would end in a tie.

Cardinals (10-3)  @ Lions (1-11-1) (1pm FOX)

I’m picking the Cardinals to win and even though I said I wasn't going to discuss fantasy I really hope Kyler puts up 60 points. That’s realistic, right?

Texans (2-11) @ Jaguars (2-11) (1pm CBS)

I’ll pick the Jags to win, they just fired their head coach, Urban Myer, so maybe they’ll bounce back

Cowboys (9-4) @ NY Giants (4-9) (1pm FOX)

I’m picking the Cowboys to win. Maybe this week we’ll actually get to see Jake Fromm play… Go Gmen!

Titans (9-4) @ Steelers (6-6-1) (1pm CBS)

I’m picking the Titans to win this game.

Bengals (7-6) @ Broncos (7-6) (4:05pm CBS)

I’m picking the Broncos to win this game. They’ve got a good defense. We’ll see.

Falcons (6-7) @ 49ers (7-6) (4:05pm CBS)

The Falcons do well on the road but I’m going to pick the 49ers to win this game.

Packers (10-3) @ Ravens (8-5) (4:25pm FOX)

I’m picking the Packers to win this game.

Seahawks (5-8) @ Rams (9-4) (4:25pm FOX)

I’m picking the Rams to win this game.

Saints (6-7) @ Buccaneers (10-3)  (8:20pm NBC)

I’m picking the Bucs for the win.

Monday, December 20th

Vikings (6-7) @ Bears (4-9) (8:15pm ESPN)

I’ll be rooting for the Bears but picking the Vikings to win this game.

GO GMEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the edit Eric!
