The Shenoa Report

December 26, 2020

Regular Season Week 16

Happy Holidays everyone! Sorry I’m a day late on posting. I decided that spending time with loved ones was much more important than posting a football blog on Christmas. Week 16 brings games on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday! As I write this report I’ve already missed Friday’s game and it’s the 4th quarter in the early game on Saturday.

I went 11-5 in my picks and won in fantasy, the losers bracket. Thank God the fantasy season is over. I didn’t enjoy this fantasy season as much as I have in the past. It just wasn’t that fun, not because of COVID-19, more because we didn’t have a good comish, I’m not sure if I’ll even play next season. Who knows. Here’s the recap of week 15.

Chargers @ Raiders 30-27 OT

Of course, with all my smack talk about the Chargers not being able to finish games, they go and win in overtime, without Keenan Allen. Even with their win, the Chargers were eliminated from the playoffs in week 13.

Bills @ Broncos 48-19

The Broncos were eliminated from playoff contention with this loss to the Bills. The Bills on the other hand are division champions for the first time since 1995. Congrats Bills fans. Josh Allen wasn’t even born the last time you all were division champs.

Panthers @ Packers 16-24

The Panthers were also eliminated from the playoffs with this loss to the Packers. It was an ugly game for the Packers, but they got the win, as they lead their division and are well on their way to the playoffs.

49ers @ Cowboys 33-41

The 49ers were in the Super Bowl last year and this year they will not make it to the playoffs, with this loss to the four win Cowboys.

Buccaneers @ Falcons 31-27

The Falcons shut out the Bucs in the first half of the game with a 17-0 lead. In true Falcons fashion they blew their lead and allowed the Bucs to score 3 touchdowns in the 3rd quarter alone, ultimately losing the game. Atlanta has also been eliminated from the playoffs after their loss to the Chargers in week 14.

Texans @ Colts 20-27

The Texans had no chance of the playoffs after their loss to the Bears in week 14 but kept this game close against division rivals. The Colts came out on top though, like I knew they would.

Lions @ Titans 25-46

Ryan Tannehill had 5 touchdowns, 2 rushing 3 passing, in this rout over the Lions. The Lions loss to the Titans ended Detroit's chances of a run to the playoffs. When my friend asked Siri what the Lions final score was, even she had a snarky response, not just that they lost but that they were trounced.

Patriots @ Dolphins 12-22

The Patriots were also eliminated from the playoffs with this loss to the Dolphins. The last time the Patriots missed the playoffs was 2008, when Brady missed the season due to an ACL injury. The time before that was 2002. It’ll be weird to not see the Patriots in the postseason, but I’m not at all sad about it.

Bears @ Vikings 33-27

“Whenever I pick the Bears to win, they lose, and when I pick against them, they win. I lose either way. So I’m picking the Vikings for the win, which pretty much ensures that the Bears will win.” -Shenoa’s words last week. I quit. Both teams are technically not out of the playoffs, yet…

Seahawks @ Washington 20-15

The Seahawks clinched a playoff spot with this win over the Football Team. Washington still leads their division, even with this loss. The game was sloppy, and neither team looked great, but the Seahawks were able to pull off the win as Washington tried to claw back.

Jaguars @ Ravens 14-40

This game wasn’t even fun to watch. If it were the only game on tv my dad would have turned it off (he doesn’t like one sided games). The Jags are just ready for the season to be over, they never ever had a chance of making it to the playoffs this year.

Jets @ Rams 23-20

Speaking of another team that didn’t have a chance at making the playoffs this year, the Jets FINALLY got a win! No one saw this coming. Not even Joe Namith, Jets legendary quarterback from years and years ago. I still can’t believe they pulled off the upset. The Rams should be embarrassed, and probably are.

Eagles @ Cardinals 26-33

Kyler Murray threw for a career-high 406 yards. I’m just glad that the Eagles lost. My partner likes the new QB for Philly, it “Hurts” me on the inside having him cheer for the Eagles.

Chiefs @ Saints 32-29

The Chiefs are the best team in the NFL once again this season. Drew Brees was back under center for the Saints, but you could tell he wasn’t 100% and I think that ultimately got the Chiefs the victory.

Browns @ NY Giants 20-6

I never expected the Giants to win this game so I wasn’t as disappointed. There wasn’t even a chance for false hope this time. The play calling was aggressive, but the offense, without Danny Jones, couldn’t get into the endzone. They had multiple opportunities. It just wasn’t going to happen. Ironically, the Giants haven’t been eliminated from playoff contention yet.

Steelers @ Bengals 17-27

I don’t know which game was more shocking, the Jets beating the Rams or this game. The Bengals played like they had the Steelers record and the Steelers played like they only had 2 wins on the season. I think that the Steelers should be more embarrassed than the Rams. Pittsburgh has lost their last 3. It is an epic meltdown, and fun to watch.

WEEK 16

Friday, December 25th

Vikings (6-9) @ Saints (11-4) 33-52

I had picked the Saints to win this game and I was correct. The Vikings have been eliminated from the playoffs. Alvin Kamara had SIX rushing touchdowns to tie the NFL record in this impressive win with the Saints.

Saturday, December 19th

Buccaneers (9-5) @ Lions (5-9) (1pm NFL)

I picked the Bucs to win this game, and as I write this report they have a 47-7 lead. I hope I’ve made the right choice.

49ers (5-9) @ Cardinals (8-6) (4:30pm PRIME VIDEO)

You’ll have to have Amazon Prime Video to be able to watch this game. I’m picking the Cardinals to win. They have something to play for, the 49ers, not so much.

Dolphins (9-5) @ Raiders (7-7) (8:15pm NFL)

The Dolphins need to win this game and then next one to have a chance at the playoffs. The Raiders need a lot more. They haven’t been technically eliminated as of yet but they need a lot of help. I don’t think they will win this game. I’m picking the Dolphins for the win.

Sunday, December 27th

Falcons (4-10) @ Chiefs (13-1) (1pm FOX)

I'm going to go out on a limb and pick the Chiefs to win this game.

Browns (10-4) @ Jets (1-13) (1pm CBS)

Now that the Jets have gotten a win under their belt, I don’t expect them to get another win for the rest of the season. I’m picking the Browns to win this game.

Colts (10-4) @ Steelers (11-3) (1pm CBS)

If the Steelers continue to play like they have their past 3 games they don’t have a chance at beating the Colts. The Steelers will probably win this game, but just for fun I’m going to pick the Colts for the win.

NY Giants (5-9) @ Ravens (9-5) (1pm FOX)

I don’t have high hopes for this game, or a Giants win. They will most likely be eliminated if they lose, which they probably will. I’m picking the Ravens to win this game. GO G-MEN!

Bengals (3-10-1) @ Texans (4-10) (1pm FOX)

Both teams have been eliminated for the playoff race, they are just playing for pride now. I’m picking the Texans to win this game.

Broncos (5-9) @ Chargers (5-9) (4:05pm CBS)

These teams have also been eliminated, have equal records, and are just playing for their fans. I’m going to pick the Chargers for the win, but everytime I do, they lose. You’re welcome Broncos fans.

Panthers (4-10) @ Washington (6-8) (4:05pm CBS)

Washington needs this win to keep their playoff hopes alive. They shouldn’t have a problem defeating the Panthers. I’m picking the Football Team for the win.

Eagles (4-9-1) @ Cowboys (5-9) (4:25pm FOX)

In the abysmal NFC East, no one has been eliminated as of yet. I don’t want either team to win, and am hoping for a tie. A Philly win would be better for the Giants but that’s a sinking ship. I’m picking the Eagles for the win.

Rams (9-5) @ Seahawks (10-4) (4:25pm FOX)

The Seahawks can clinch the NFC West with a win over the Rams. The Rams really need to bounce back from their loss to the Jets last week. I’m picking the Seahawks to win this game.

Titans (10-4) @ Packers (11-3) (8:20pm NBC)

Green Bay has already clinched the NFC North title and can guarantee the NFC’s No. 1 seed if they beat the Titans and the Rams beat or tie Seattle. This scenario isn’t out of reach but according to my picks, not likely. The Titans can clinch a playoff spot if they defeat the Packers. The Titans need this win more. Can they do it? Probably. Will they? I’m picking the Packers for the win.

Monday, December 28th

Bills (11-3) @ Patriots (6-8) (8:15pm ESPN/ABC)

The Bills have already clinched a spot in the playoffs and the Patriots are not even going to make it. I really didn’t think that I would ever type that last sentence. I’m picking the Bills for the win.

GO G-MEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the edit Eric!

The Shenoa Report Week 15 '20 #theshenoareport

The Shenoa Report

December 17, 2020

Regular Season Week 15

We’ve got games on Thursday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday in week 15! I don’t really want to talk about last week’s games, the Giants lost and that was a horrible “birthday present.” Otherwise, I had a wonderful birthday. My family and friends sent me wishes via zoom and my partner knocked it out of the park, as he always does, when it came to birthday celebrations.

I went 8-8 in my picks and lost in fantasy. It wasn’t a good week for me football wise. Here’s the recap of week 14.

Patriots @ Rams 3-24

The Rams definitely had a different outcome from the last time these two teams met. The Patriots played so badly they actually benched Cam Newton. The other Cam, Cam Akers of the Rams, had an amazing game and ran all over the Patriots leading his team to victory.

Texans @ Bears 7-36

Fun fact: if I had played the Bears defense instead of sitting them on my fantasy bench I would have won this week. The Bears kill me once again. This time for actually winning.

Cowboys @ Bengals 30-7

The Cowboys actually looked decent, but then again they were playing the Bengals. Andy Dalton finally got a win in Cincinnati, which is a rarity for him. There’s a joke in there somewhere.

Chiefs @ Dolphins 33-27

This game was ugly. The Dolphins defense was relentless but the Chiefs still got the win, even though Patrick Mahomes turned the ball over way too much. Another reason why I lost in fantasy.

Cardinals @ NY Giants 26-7

I don’t want to talk about it.

Vikings @ Buccaneers 14-26

Yeah, really the Vikings never had a chance. At least I got this pick correct.

Broncos @ Panthers 32-27

Christian McCaffrey did not play, which I thought he would, therefore the Panthers did not win. Also, Noah Fant left the game for the Broncos with an illness and didn’t even touch the ball once. Another reason I lost in fantasy.

Titans @ Jaguars 31-10

Derrick Henry ran for 215 yards and two touchdowns. The end.

Colts @ Raiders 44-27

I drafted T.Y. Hilton this year in fantasy. After 10 weeks of him doing absolutely NOTHING I dropped him and picked up Nelson Agholor. Of course Hilton had 2 touchdowns in the Colts win. SMH.

Jets @ Seahawks 3-40

The Seahawks got back to winning. Russell Wilson threw 4 touchdown passes in the process. In other news the Jets are still terrible.

Packers @ Lions 31-24

Oh yeah, if I had started Aaron Rodgers over Patrick Mahomes I would have won in fantasy. Rodgers had 4 total touchdowns, three passing, one rushing, and no interceptions… Because, of course he did.

Saints @ Eagles 21-24

Jalen Hurts seems to be the answer to the quarterback dilemma in Philly. Sorry not sorry Wentz. I still think the Saints should’ve won this game.

Falcons @ Chargers 17-20

Michael Badgley kicked the game winning field goal as time expired to give the Chargers the win. Meanwhile the Falcons lose yet another close game.

Washington @ 49ers 23-15

Stupid 49ers couldn’t beat the team that doesn’t even have a name! And now the Giants are out of first place in the NFC East. I do like Alex Smith, but he left the game due to injury. Hopefully it’s not too bad. Anyway, shame on you 49ers!

Steelers @ Bills 15-26

This was a great game! The Bills pretty much crushed the Steelers. Josh Allen was on point. It was super fun to watch. At least one New York team won this week… The Steelers were sloppy and the Bills capitalized on Pittsburgh's mistakes.

Ravens @ Browns 47-42

The Browns actually looked like they were going to pull off a win. Lamar Jackson had gone out of the game, for the rest of the game, the audience thought. Then on a fourth and five towards the end of the game Jackson returned from the locker room and threw a touchdown pass to Marquise Brown. This touchdown put the Ravens back on top. The Browns answered with a touchdown from Kareem Hunt. Then Justin Tucker sealed the win with a 55-yard field goal. The fourth quarter was epic if you are a Ravens fan and traumatic if you are a Browns fan.

WEEK 15

Thursday, December 17th

Chargers (4-9) @ Raiders (7-6) (8:20pm FOX/NFL)

I’m picking the Raiders to win because the Chargers seem to not be able to finish games. Also, Keenan Allen probably won’t play so that’s another reason to pick the Raiders.

Saturday, December 19th

Bills (10-3) @ Broncos (5-8) (4:30pm NFL)

I’m picking the Bills to win this game.

Panthers (4-9) @ Packers (10-3) (8:15pm NFL)

I’m going with the Packers to win this game. The Panthers are just not very good this year.

Sunday, December 20th

49ers (5-8) @ Cowboys (4-9) (1pm CBS)

The stupid 49ers should’ve won last week. I’m going to pick them again to win, hopefully, this time they actually will.

Buccaneers (8-5) @ Falcons (4-9) (1pm FOX)

I am pretty sure that the Buccaneers will win this game. That’s my pick.

Texans (4-9) @ Colts (9-4) (1pm CBS)

I’m picking the Colts to win this game.

Lions (5-8) @ Titans (9-4) (1pm CBS)

I’m taking the Titans over the Lions.

Patriots (6-7) @ Dolphins (8-5) (1pm CBS)

I think that the Dolphins will win this game. It’s weird to pick them over the Patriots. 2020 has been a strange year indeed.

Bears (6-7) @ Vikings (6-7) (1pm FOX)

Whenever I pick the Bears to win, they lose, and when I pick against them, they win. I lose either way. So I’m picking the Vikings for the win, which pretty much ensures that the Bears will win.

Seahawks (9-4) @ Washington (6-7) (1pm FOX)

I really need the Seahawks to actually beat the Football team. I’m picking the Seahawks.

Jaguars (1-12) @ Ravens (8-5) (1pm CBS)

I’m picking the Ravens to win this game even though they still have people testing positive for COVID-19. So, they are still dealing with that.

Jets (0-13) @ Rams (9-4) (4:25pm FOX)

I’m picking the Rams to win this game. It should be an easy win.

Eagles (4-8-1) @ Cardinals (7-6) (4:05pm FOX)

Another game of angry birds. I’m going to be rooting for the Cardinals as well as picking them to win.

Chiefs (12-1) @ Saints (10-3) (4:25pm CBS)

I’m rolling with the Chiefs, though I hope that the Saints play a little bit better than they did last week. It must be embarrassing losing to a team that only had 3 wins coming into the game last week.

Browns (9-4) @ NY Giants (5-8) (8:20pm NBC)

The Giants are not on my good side. I don’t think that they can win this game. I think it was dumb for the NFL to move them into this slot. Danny Jones has another leg injury and might not play. The Giants are a disappointment. I’m picking the Browns to win. Go G-MEN!

Monday, December 21st

Steelers (11-2) @ Bengals (2-10-1) (8:15pm ESPN)

I’m pretty sure the Steelers will bounce back from back to back losses. Playing the Bengals is like giving the Steelers an early Christmas present as well as a boost of confidence. I’m picking the Steelers to win this game.

GO G-MEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the edit Eric!

The Shenoa Report Week 14 '20 #theshenoareport

The Shenoa Report
December 10, 2020
Regular Season Week 14

You guys, Sunday is a big day for me. It’s my birthday. I move into another decade… Some call it a milestone birthday. In the middle of a pandemic, it's just another Sunday. No big huge party, we’ll have a zoom party so that I can see family I so long to hug. I remember when my mom turned this age, we threw her a huge surprise party, I drove her to see Titanic while the rest of the family set up. When we got back to our house, she called me a few choice words. She was surprised. It was a good time. Now I’m not saying I won’t have a good time on Sunday, I have the most amazing partner in the whole wide world, I’ll be with him and we’ll be happy, especially if the Giants beat the Cardinals! As with everyone else who hasn’t been able to celebrate the things in life they want to because of this pandemic, I feel for you. Stay thankful, and we’ll celebrate in the future.

Back to football. Here we are starting week 14, which should be a little more traditional than week 13. We’re back to Thursday night football, Sunday games, one Monday night game and no Tuesday or Wednesday games, at least not at this point.

I went 11-4 in my picks and lost in fantasy, getting knocked out in the first round of the playoffs. Here’s the recap of week 13.

Saints @ Falcons 21-16
This was a really close game that I thought the Falcons actually might win. They were knocking on the door at the end of the game but the Saints defense came up big and were able to hold off Matt Ryan and his offense. Maybe if Gurley had played more the Falcons would have won the game, and I’d still be in the fantasy football playoffs.

Lions @ Bears 34-30
Another reason that I’m no longer in the playoffs is the Bears defense. They allowed Matt Stafford to throw 3 touchdowns and couldn’t stop Adrian Peterson who had 2 rushing touchdowns. The Lions already look better without Matt Patricia, getting their first win in what feels like years.

Browns @ Titans 41-35
Baker Mayfield had 4 touchdown passes in this win over the Titans. Clearly the Titans expected the Browns to be run heavy which opened up the pass game like crazy. Baker didn’t play favorites as every touchdown pass was caught by a different receiver, and it was Nick Chubb that got the only rushing touchdown for the Browns. Cleveland was also able to contain Derrick Henry, who only had 60 rushing yards and a rare fumble.

Bengals @ Dolphins 7-19
Tua Tagovailoa was back for the Dolphins and led them to victory over the helpless Bengals. It was Dolphins kicker Jason Sanders that was the real hero of the game scoring 13 of the 19 points for the win.

Jaguars @ Vikings 24-27 OT
This game was pretty ugly, and the ugliness carried over to overtime. The Jags beat themselves with so many errors. They had 2 fumbles, 10 penalties for 83 yards, and then the chance of a game winning field goal that fell short and forced overtime. I wouldn’t say that the Vikings won the game, rather the Jags lost it.

Raiders @ Jets 31-28
It took over 24 years and a Raiders miracle, but they finally beat the Jets. Meanwhile, the Jets continue to figure out how to lose games. The Jets even fired Defensive Coach Gregg Williams after this loss. Like it’s his fault? Why after this game, when they’ve already lost 12? No one else is to blame? Come on man. The Jets had all but won the game when Derek Carr threw a 46-yard touchdown pass to Henry Ruggs with 5 seconds left in the game. Ouch. Once again, I’m glad I’m not a Jets fan.

Colts @ Texans 26-20
Phillip Rivers had two touchdown passes in the first half, but it was the Colts defense that kept the Texans from scoring at all in the second half, along with a safety in the fourth quarter, that sealed the win for Indy. Houston had a chance to take the lead with about 90 seconds left in the game, at the Colts 2 yard line, when Deshaun Watson fumbled the ball and Indy’s Anthony Walker pounced on it to secure the win.

Rams @ Cardinals 38-28
The Rams, led by Jared Goff, in one of his best games of the season, beat the Cardinals and reached the top of the NFC West. The Cardinals have lost four out of their last five games. Kyler Murry continued to struggle, fumbling the ball and throwing a pick 6 in the fourth quarter. Selfishly, I hope his struggles continue as the Cardinals play the Giants next.

NY Giants @ Seahawks 17-12
I can’t believe the Giants actually won this game. I mean, they were double digit underdogs! They handed the Seahawks their first home loss of the season and they did it without Danny Jones! Colt McCoy wasn’t perfect, he had an interception in the first half, but otherwise played smart ball. The Giants defense stepped up once again and shut down Seattle’s offensive weapons. Russell Wilson was sacked 5 times; the last of which set up a 4th and 18 desperation throw by Wilson that the Giants easily knocked down to win the game. The G-MEN are at the top of the NFC East for at least another week!

Eagles @ Packers 16-30
Following a “Giant” win, was a lovely Eagles loss. The Packers dominated this game, it wasn’t even close. The Eagles were so bad that Carson Wentz was benched and Jalen Hurts was put in at quarterback. Hurts didn’t do much better, though he did throw a touchdown pass as well as an interception in the fourth quarter. So, I guess he did better than Wentz. Aaron Rodgers had 3 touchdowns, his third was his 400th career touchdown pass. Davante Adams caught the pass and made sure Rodgers ended up with the ball. Rodgers always gives his receiver the ball after their first touchdown so the 400th touchdown pass ball will be the first centennial one he gets to keep. Number 100 was thrown into the stands, with 200 and 300 given to receivers.

Patriots @ Chargers 45-0
I take back everything nice I said about the Chargers. To be shut out by the 2020 Patriots must be super embarrassing. Cam Newton had 3 touchdowns, one passing and two rushing, and the Patriots special teams also scored 2 touchdowns, one returned from a blocked field goal and the other a punt return.

Broncos @ Chiefs 16-22
A couple of years ago the Chiefs were the comeback kids. They would be down the first half and make a remarkable comeback. It happened so much that Chiefs fans were never really worried about losing. But to be down to the 4 win Broncos? That was uncomfortable to watch. Of course, if the Tyreek Hill touchdown in the first quarter had actually been called a touchdown or even challenged for that matter, the game wouldn’t have felt so close. That touchdown would have been helpful in fantasy as Patrick Mahomes is my starting quarterback and I’m used to getting 4 touchdowns out of him not just one… Oh well. The Chiefs won.

Washington @ Steelers 23-17
The Steelers are no longer undefeated thanks to the Football Team. With a scoreless first quarter the Steelers jumped out to what they thought would be a 14 point lead going into the half, until Dustin Hopkins kicked a 49-yard field goal with 1 second on the clock in the second quarter. Washington came alive after half time and ran all over the Steelers. With a rushing touchdown by Peyton Barber and an Alex Smith passing touchdown to Logan Thomas the Football Team tied the game. Two fourth quarter field goals by Hopkins would seal the win and dethrone the undefeated.

Bills @ 49ers 34-24
After 21 years the Bills finally win again on Monday night. Josh Allen had 4 touchdowns, tying a career high. The Bills defense picked off Nick Mullens twice. The 49ers are not liking their new home away from home, playing their “home” game in Arizona, with a constant reminder painted in the endzone. Same color, wrong team. This is 2020.

Cowboys @ Ravens 17-34
The whole pregame was about Dez Bryant, his growth, his maturity, and playing against his old team. Tuesday morning, the day of the game, Bryant’s COVID-19 test came back inconclusive. He took another test around 7pm and that too came back inconclusive. He then took another (rapid PCR) test around 7:30pm which came back positive. He was then ruled out of the game with an illness. He took to twitter saying he wasn’t going to play again this season and that it didn’t make sense that he would test positive because he has the same routine day in and day out.
For the first time, I felt bad for Dez. It would’ve been so much fun to watch him play against and beat his former team. Instead the Ravens did it without him. I always knew that the Ravens would win this game. I was a little frustrated that Marquise Brown had such a good game, as he sat on my bench, but it wouldn’t have mattered, I would’ve lost in fantasy anyway.

WEEK 13

Thursday, December 10th

Patriots (6-6) @ Rams (8-4) (8:20pm FOX/NFL)
The last time these two played each other was the Super Bowl just about two years ago. The Rams failed to score a touchdown in that game, not that the Patriots did much better. The final score was 13-3 and probably one of the ugliest Super Bowls in history. Hopefully this time around the game will be much higher scoring and the Rams will get the win. I’m picking the Rams to win this game.

Sunday, December 13th - HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!

Texans (4-8) @ Bears (5-7) (1pm CBS)
I’m tired of picking the Bears and being wrong. I’m picking the Texans to win this game.

Cowboys (3-9) @ Bengals (2-9-1) (1pm FOX)
The Cowboys might get their 4th win of the season but I wouldn’t be surprised if they blew it. Andy Dalton will be the starting quarterback on the Bengals field once again, only this time he’s playing for the other team. I’d love to see the Bengals win this game, and I’ll be rooting for them, but I think that Dallas gets the win.

Chiefs (11-1) @ Dolphins (8-4) (1pm CBS)
Hopefully the Chiefs won’t have to be the comeback kids this weekend against the Dolphins. The Dolphins have a good defense and a young quarterback. Anything can happen. I’m picking the Chiefs to win this game. The Dolphins are good this year but the Chiefs are better.

Cardinals (6-6) @ NY Giants (5-7) (1pm FOX)
The Giants could give me a really good birthday present and beat the Cardinals. They have won 4 in a row now and won 5 of their last 7 games. Kyler Murry has struggled for the Cardinals these past few games. I hope his struggle continues and the Giants can get the win. Against better judgement, I’m picking the Giants to win this game.

Vikings (6-6) @ Buccaneers (7-5) (1pm FOX)
I think that the Bucs will win this game. Therefore that’s my pick.

Broncos (4-8) @ Panthers (4-8) (1pm CBS)
Christian McCaffrey will be back in the lineup for the Panthers, Therefore I’m picking Carolina for the win.

Titans (8-4) @ Jaguars (1-11) (1pm CBS)
The Titans were shocked last week when they lost to the Browns. I think they will bounce back and beat the Jags, who are probably hoping that the Jets win a game or two so they can get the first pick in the draft. I’m picking the Titans for the win.

Colts (8-4) @ Raiders (7-5) (4:05pm CBS)
Yeah, with the way the Raiders are playing I'm picking the Colts to win this game. I mean, they almost lost to the Jets…

Jets (0-12) @ Seahawks (8-4) (4:05pm CBS)
Speaking of the Jets, I predict they will lose this game to the Seahawks. At least Seattle will beat one NY team in December.

Packers (9-3) @ Lions (5-7) (4:25pm FOX)
I’m picking the Packers to win this game, though it could be a trap game, the Lions are sneaky without Patricia.

Saints (10-2) @ Eagles (3-8-1) (4:25pm FOX)
Jalen Hurts will be the starting quarterback for the Eagles. This doesn’t change my pick. I’m picking the Saints for the win.

Falcons (4-8) @ Chargers (3-9) (4:25pm FOX)
If this game was two weeks ago, I would have, without hesitation, picked the Chargers to win. But after the way they “played” the Pats I think I’m going to have to pick the Falcons for the win.

Washington (5-7) @ 49ers (5-7) (4:25pm FOX)
I’m picking the 49ers to win this game. Mostly out of desperation for the Giants to stay atop of the NFC East.

Steelers (11-1) @ Bills (9-3) (8:20pm NBC)
This could be a good game. I don’t think that the Steelers will win two in a row, but I do think that the Bills can beat the Steelers. I am picking the Steelers for the win, hoping I’m wrong.

Monday, December 7th

Ravens (7-5) @ Browns (9-3) (8:15pm ESPN)
This should be another good game. I’m picking the Browns to win. Though I could be wrong. We’ll see.

GO G-MEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for the edit Eric!

The Shenoa Report Week 13 '20 #theshenoareport

The Shenoa Report

December 6, 2020

Regular Season Week 13

We’ve made it to December! 2020 is almost over! Week 12 was the longest week in NFL history, starting at 12:30pm on Thanksgiving and ending just after 6pm Wednesday evening. Moving forward, for the rest of the season, the NFL has decided that there will be no in person meetings on Mondays and Tuesdays. This will hopefully cut down on the spread of COVID-19 throughout the NFL. It was also decided that there will no longer be a travel limit of 62 persons for games, a team can even bring their practice squad.  Also there will not be an in person Pro Bowl this year. Lastly, the Giants lead their division!

I went 10-6 in my picks and lost in fantasy. Fantasy playoffs start this week, I made it, but fully expect to be knocked out in the first round.

Here’s the recap of week 12.

Texans @ Lions 41-25

This game was not close and the Lions didn’t win. Sometimes I get picks way wrong. Although we had the game on, cooking our first Thanksgiving dinner together took the majority of our attention. It was weird not traveling to see our families, but was much safer to have our own little Thanksgiving together, just the two of us. Also, we learned that Eric makes a kick ass gravy, spatchcocking a turkey cuts the cook time down exponentially, and I make the best dinner rolls ever. Back to the game. The game was terrible, also maybe the Texans should’ve made a coaching change much sooner this season. Speaking of coaching, Matt Patrica was relieved of his coaching job after Detroit's Thanksgiving loss. In other, other news, one of the other reasons I lost in fantasy was because my opponent had Will Fuller, who has been suspended 6 games for testing positive for performance enhancing drugs. I think that Fuller’s points should be taken away, and then I would have beat this opponent earlier in the season, just not this week. My team was horrible. Thanks Gurley.

Washington @ Cowboys 41-16

The cooking wasn’t completed for the start of this game, not that we missed much.  This game was even less riveting than the early one. I had started J.D. McKissic, so of course it was Antonio Gibson, the other running back, that ran for three touchdowns. McKissic had 1 attempt for 6 yards… Cool. I like losing.

Raiders @ Falcons 6-43

Oh look! Another pick I got wrong. But would you have guessed that the Raiders would have lost to the Falcons without Gurley? Yeah, me either. The Falcons look like a completely different team after letting go of their head coach, just like the Texans.

Chargers @ Bills 17-27

The Bills lead for the entire game, which for Bills fans is kind of surprising. Not too surprising says Chargers fans. Justin Herbert was having a pretty decent game until a costly interception in the fourth quarter that led to a Bills field goal, sealing the win.

NY Giants @ Bengals 19-17

GMEN!!!!!!!!!! 3 WINS IN A ROW AND THE TOP OF THE NFC EAST!  At least for one week. Even though we got the W it came at a big cost. Danny Jones hurt his hamstring and had to leave the game. Colt McCoy stepped in, and didn’t turn the ball over. When the Bengals scored a touchdown with 2:33 left in the game I thought the Giants had blown another “easy” win. The Giants defense saved the day yet again by sacking Brandon Allen, causing him to fumble, and recovering the ball with 57 seconds to go in the game, giving the Giants the win! Phew.

Titans @ Colts 45-26

The Colts did not have a good day and Derrick Henry once again carried the Tennessee Titans to the top of the AFC South. This was Henry’s third consecutive 100-yard game. That guy’s a beast. It helped that the Colts defense was down three key starters and Philip Rivers didn’t have a stellar game either.

Panthers @ Vikings 27-28

The Vikings just squeaked out a win over the Panthers. Chad Beebe, who had a fumble earlier in the game, caught a 10-yard touchdown pass with 46 seconds left shortly after he muffed a punt that let Carolina pad its lead. Thankfully, for Vikings fans, Joey Slye missed a 54 yard field go as time expired to give the Vikings the win.

Cardinals @ Patriots 17-20

The Patriots were able to contain Kyler Murry, and stop the run, ultimately beating the Cardinals.  Yeah, I got this pick wrong too. The Cardinals led this game until the 3rd quarter where the Patriots took the lead. The Cardinals tied it up in the fourth but it was a 50-yard field goal from Nick Folk as time expired to give the Patriots the W.

Dolphins @ Jets 20-3

Ryan Fitzpatrick threw two touchdowns for the Dolphins, against one of his many former teams. The Jets fall to 0-11. I’m glad my dad didn’t raise me as a Jets fan.

Browns  @ Jaguars 27-25

Guys, the Browns are 8-3. The Cleveland Browns. 8-3. Let that sink in. They might even make the playoffs. The Jags, even though they are 1-10, were very tenacious. The Browns barely survived. Baker Mayfield and Jarvis Landry finally started clicking and Nick Chubb covered the ground game. Browns chief of staff Callie Brownson became the first woman to coach an NFL position group in a regular season game as she filled in for tight ends coach Drew Pezing. Woot!

Saints @ Broncos 31-3

This game might have come with the biggest NFL news of the week. All of the Broncos quarterbacks were in quarantine because one of them had tested positive and they were all in close proximity to one another without masks. So, the Broncos, who were quarterback-less for the game, promoted Kendall Hinton, a practice squad wide receiver, 2 hours before kickoff. Hinton, a former Wake Forest quarterback, went 1-for-9 for 13 yards, with a sack, two interceptions, and a passer rating of zero. Needless to say, the Broncos didn’t have a good game, and to make matters worse, Philip Lindsay went out of the game with a knee injury and didn’t return.

49ers @ Rams 23-20

The 49ers snapped a three game losing streak when Robbie Gould made a 42-yard field goal as time expired. Got this pick wrong too!

Chiefs @ Buccaneers 27-24

The Chiefs got out to a big lead in the first quarter with the Patrick Mahomes / Tyreek Hill show. Hill had 203 yards and two touchdowns in the first quarter alone. He finished the day with 13 catches and 269 yards. Patrick Mahomes threw for 462 yards and 3 touchdowns. Tom Brady, on the other hand, threw for 345 yards and 3 touchdowns but had 2 second half interceptions. It was great, especially seeing Brady lose and the Chiefs come out on top.

Bears @ Packers 25-41

Aaron Rodgers had 4 touchdown passes to Mitchell Trubisky’s 3. Mitch also had 3 costly turnovers, which the Packers capitalized on.  It’s safe to say that the Packers throttled the Bears in this division rivalry game. It was pretty ugly to watch, and I picked the Packers to win this game.

Seahawks @ Eagles 23-17

I like watching Tom Brady lose almost as much as I like watching the Eagles lose. It was a good week for that. The Seahawks continue to struggle on defense but their offense has so many weapons it didn’t really matter. DK Metcalf made the Eagles really regret passing him up when they could have drafted him, but he fell to the Seahawks. Chris Carson also returned to the game after being out for the better part of the season. The Seahawks defense's best help came from the Eagles offense, who didn’t have a first down until under five minutes left in the first half. It was just one of those games.

Ravens @ Steelers 14-19

This game had been moved and rescheduled 3 times. It finally landed at 3:40pm on Wednesday afternoon. You see, NBC has covered the lighting of the Christmas Tree in Rockefeller Center for decades. Wednesday night was the 88th lighting, and NBC was not going to give up that air time to anything, even the unbeaten Steelers, that are clearly not getting any love from anyone but their fans. The Ravens had 23 players test positive, who couldn’t be a part of the game. RG3 was the Ravens quarterback and he was throwing passes to Dez Bryan. It was like going back in time. The game was ugly, and sloppy, with colorful commentary from one of my favorite (sarcastic font) sports casters, who had to issue an apology after the game. The Steelers maintained their perfect season but shouldn’t feel good about the way they played. Everyone looked like garbage.

WEEK 13

Sunday, December 6th

Saints (9-2) @ Falcons (4-7)  (1pm FOX)

Falcons are 4-2 under interim head coach Raheem Morris and this is a divisional game. The Saints have won 8 in a row, the last two without Brees. New Orleans has one of the top defenses in the league. I don’t think the Falcons are going to win this game. I just hope that Gurley touches the ball a lot. I’m picking the Saints for the win.

Lions (4-7) @ Bears  (5-6) (1pm FOX)

Will the Lions do better without Matt Patricia coaching? I don’t think they could do much worse. The Bears are also coming off of a humiliating loss, in fact, they’ve lost 5 in a row. Both teams need to win, badly. Against better judgment I’m picking the Bears to win this game, though a Lions win wouldn’t surprise me.

Browns (8-3) @ Titans (8-2) (1pm CBS)

I like the Browns, I have a couple of their players on my fantasy team. I do not expect the Browns to win this game, but I do expect Nick Chubb to go off, I mean, I need him to. I’m picking the Titans to win, Derrick Henry trumps Chubb.

Bengals (2-8-1) @ Dolphins (7-4) (1pm CBS)

The Joe Burrow-less Bengals are expected to lose the rest of their games this season. It would be very shocking if they didn’t, unless they play the Jets. I’m picking the Dolphins to win this game, I think Tua is going to be back too.

Jaguars (1-10) @ Vikings (5-6) (1pm CBS)

I’m going to have to go with the Vikings to win this game. The Jags have lost 10 in a row. Let’s make it 11 after this game.

Raiders (6-5) @ Jets (0-11) (1pm FOX)

The Raiders haven’t beat the Jets since 1996. The Jets haven’t won a game since last season. They beat the Raiders 34-3 last year. The Raiders were embarrassed last week and should bounce back this week. But, this is pretty much the Jets Super Bowl, and they are going to fight. I’m going to pick the Raiders to get the win, but again, I wouldn’t be surprised if I was wrong.

Colts (7-4) @ Texans (4-7) (1pm CBS)

I thought that the Texans might actually have a chance at beating the Colts this week, but then I remembered that cornerback Bradley Roby and receiver Will Fuller were suspended for performance-enhancing drugs. I’m picking the Colts for the win.

Rams (7-4) @ Cardinals (6-5)  (4:05pm FOX)

The Cardinals are sharing their stadium and practice facility with the 49ers. I guess it’s safe to say that the 49ers won't be practicing on the field on Sunday. I think that the Rams are going to win this game. All they have to do is contain Kyler Murry, and I think they can do that. I’m picking the Rams for the win.

NY Giants (4-7) @ Seahawks (8-3) (4:05pm FOX)

Danny Jones is doubtful to play this game, so Colt McCoy will probably get the start. The Giants defense is good but Seattle’s offense is deep with many weapons. I don’t see the Giants winning this game. Don’t get me wrong, I would LOVE to see them win, and I’ll be rooting for them, but I’m not delusional. I think our win streak comes to an end against the Seahawks. My only hope is that every team in the NFC East loses this week so that the Giants can maintain first place. I’m picking the Seahawks for the win, I hope I’m wrong. Go GMEN!!!

Eagles (3-7-1) @ Packers (8-3) (4:25pm CBS)

I’m picking the Packers to win this game for many reasons. 1, they’re the better team. 2, I don’t like the Eagles. 3, The Eagles are in the NFC East and need to lose. 4, Aaron Rodgers is WAY better than Carson Wentz.

Patriots (5-6) @ Chargers (3-8) (4:25pm CBS)

The Chargers are the best worst team in the NFL right now. I’m picking the Patriots to win this game, but I think it’ll be close.

Broncos (4-7) @ Chiefs (10-1) (8:20pm NBC)

I’m picking the Chiefs to win this game, though the Broncos should have a quarterback this week. Not that it’ll matter too much, they are going up against Patrick Mahomes.

Monday, December 7th

Washington (4-7) @ Steelers (11-0) (5pm FOX)

2 games on Monday!

I’m picking the Steelers to win this game, even though they have a short week, and their last game was UGLY. I like Alex Smith but I can’t have the Football Team win this week; you know, NFC East…

Bills (8-3) @ 49ers (5-6) (8:15pm ESPN/CBS)

The 49ers can’t practice or play at their facility for the next 3 weeks because of COVID-19 restrictions in their county. They have moved to Phoenix for the time being and will practice and play “home games” there. Their first “home game” is against the Bills.

The last time the Bills were on this field they witnessed the “Hail Murry” and a devastating loss. Hopefully they can put that in the past as well as their prime time record. The Bills are 6-23 in primetime games since 2000 and have lost 9 straight Monday night games, their last Monday night win was October of 1999. I’m going against the odds and picking the Bills to win this game. I’m sorry Bills fans, if you think I just jinxed you!

Tuesday, December 8th

Cowboys (3-8) @ Ravens (6-5) (8:05pm FOX/NFLN)

Yes, we have a Tuesday game this week. Lamar Jackson is still on the COVID-19 list and may not play this game. Dez Bryant will be playing against his former team, so that should be fun to watch. I’m picking the Ravens to win because, well, they really need a win, and the aforementioned NFC East.

The Shenoa Report

November 25, 2020

Regular Season Week 12

Happy Thanksgiving! I hope yours is filled with love, thankfulness, and above all else, I hope you stay safe.

Traditionally, there is always football on Thanksgiving. The Lions and Cowboys have always played on Thanksgiving day but the NFL added a 3rd game in 2006. Why? Who cares, there’s more football to watch as you digest the turkey and pie! This Thanksgiving there will only be 2 games, because, you guessed it, COVID-19. The Steelers and Ravens were supposed to play Thursday night but the game has been moved to Sunday because the Ravens have multiple positive cases.

I went 9-5 in my picks and lost in fantasy. Here’s the recap of week 11.

Cardinals @ Seahawks  21-28

This game was super close the entire time! Kyler Murry injured his shoulder during the game but stuck it out the whole game. It was also a much cleaner game for the Seahawks this time around. Russell Wilson had no interceptions, and 2 touchdown passes. The Seattle defense also stepped up, causing a safety in the 4th quarter, ultimately sealing the win for the Seahawks.

Eagles @ Browns 17-22

The Browns defense had an exceptional game, which I would be super happy with any other time, but this past week my opponent had the Browns defense, and that was a big part of the reason I lost in fantasy. Regardless, it’s always fun watching the Eagles lose. The defense picked off Carson Wentz twice, once for a pick 6,  and caused a safety.

Falcons @ Saints 9-24

The Saints didn’t seem to miss Drew Brees with Taysom Hill under center. Hill didn’t have any passing touchdowns as a first-time starting quarterback but had 2 rushing in the second half. The Saints defense was remarkable holding the Falcons to only 3 field goals and zero touchdowns. Brees has 11 fractured ribs and will not be returning to the field anytime soon.

Bengals @ Washington 9-20

Joe Burrow’s season ended quite abruptly as he tore his ACL, MCL and suffered other structural issues in his left knee in this loss to the Football Team. Without Burrow under center the Bengals were scoreless in the second half of the game. Washington scored 3 times in the second half sealing the win.

Lions @ Panthers 0-20

The Panthers SHUTOUT the Lions in Charlotte with a backup quarterback, P.J. Walker, who had two interceptions on the day. What does that say about the Lions? Not many good things I’d have to say.

Steelers @ Jaguars 27-3

The Jags led the game the entire first quarter, but only scoring a field goal the whole game will not beat the Steelers. Pittsburgh’s defense picked off Jacksonville’s quarterback Jake Lutton FOUR times. Big Ben did have an interception that came just before halftime, but also had 2 passing touchdowns in the Steelers rout of the Jags.

Titans @ Ravens 30-24 OT

It was around this time last year that these two teams played each other and it was then the Titans were able to dissect Lamar Jackson’s dynamic run game and make him throw the ball. Taking away Jackson’s run game and capitalizing on Derrick Henry’s legs got the Titans the win last year and this year as well. Henry had the game winning touchdown in overtime. Poetic. This was a revenge game for the Ravens and the emotions were running high even before the game. Ravens head coach had to be guided off the field after words and lifted voices were exchanged before kickoff. It set the tone of the game which included overtime. Dez Bryant made his debut as a Raven, which took all the looks away from Marquis Brown, who had 0 points for me in fantasy. As someone who had 2 Ravens players on my fantasy team and picking Baltimore to win, it wasn’t a good day for me, or Ravens fans everywhere.

Patriots @ Texans 20-27

The Texans got their second home win of the season as the Patriots continued their struggles. Although Cam Newton had more passing yards, Deshaun Watson had a better day with more completions and 3 touchdowns to Cam’s one. It was nice to see the Texans win and me get the pick right.

Dolphins @ Broncos 13-20

I did not get this pick correct and I should’ve started my Broncos players. How was I to know that the Dolphins were going to fall apart. Tua Tagovailoa took one too many sacks and was ultimately ineffective leading to Ryan Fitzpatrick taking his place. Fitzmagic wasn’t his magical self, throwing an interception in the 4th and ending with a Dolphins loss.

Jets @ Chargers 28-34

This game was pretty close but the Chargers came out on top. Justin Herbert threw for 366 yards and 3 touchdowns which shows that he wasn’t the Sampson type with his hair cut. The Chargers got their third win of the season while the Jets remain winless.

Packers @ Colts 31-34 OT

I got this pick wrong too. I really thought that the Packers were going to win this game. I knew it would be close, but I didn’t think it would go into overtime. The Colts controlled the clock and forced more turnovers which is what ultimately won the game for them. Oh well.

Cowboys @ Vikings 31-28

The one time I’m actually rooting for the Vikings to win… I still don’t know how Minnesota lost this game. I’m sure it was to spite me because I don’t like the Cowboys nor do I like Kirk Cousins. PS the Giants, Football Team, and Cowboys are all now tied for 2nd place in their division… Thanks a lot Minnesota.

Chiefs @ Raiders 35-31

It was the Raiders who gave the Chiefs their first and only loss of the season and they really tried to hand them their second loss of the season but the Chiefs wouldn’t have it. The Raiders scored first and it was back and forth for the rest of the game. Both quarterbacks had an interception but Patrick Mahomes out passed Derek Carr by almost 75 yards. It was a fun game to watch indeed.

Rams @ Buccaneers 27-24

This was the first game that featured an entirely Black officiating team. I was glad to see this finally happen but a little upset that it took the league 50 plus years to make it so. The game was another close back and forth game. Jared Goff had a better day than Tom Brady with 3 touchdowns to Brady’s 2. Both quarterbacks had 2 interceptions but it was Brady’s last interception that sealed the win for the Rams coming late in the 4th. I always like seeing Brady pout, and lose.

WEEK 12

Thanksgiving- Thursday, November 26th

Texans (3-7) @ Lions (4-6)  (12:30pm CBS)

The Lions were shut out last week while the Texans got their second win at home this season. I predict that this game will be pretty close and that the Lions win.

Washington (3-7) @ Cowboys (3-7) (4:30pm FOX)

I hope this game ends in a tie. I’ll be rooting for Washington because if they win and the Giants win this week the Giants will be ahead of the Football Team in rankings because we swept them this year. With that all said I’m picking the Cowboys to win this game hoping it ends in a tie.

Sunday, November 29th

Ravens (6-4) @ Steelers (10-0) (1pm NBC)

I was so excited about this game being scheduled for Thanksgiving night. The last time these two teams played each other on Thanksgiving I was in Seattle with my family. My dad and I watched the game on my laptop. We were both disgusted in the Steelers, especially after Mike Tomlin stepped onto the field of play to trip Jacoby Jones and stop him from scoring a kickoff return touchdown. The Ravens won that game in spite of Tomlin’s miss step…

This time around the Ravens have had 7 players either test positive or have been identified as close contacts. The decision to postpone the game came just 31 hours before kickoff.

I’d like to see the Ravens win this game, if and when it’s played, but I’m going to have to make my pick with the Steelers to win.

Raiders (6-4) Falcons (3-7) (1pm CBS)

I’m picking the Raiders to win this game. I just hope that Todd Gurley has a much better game than last week.

Chargers (3-7) @ Bills (7-3) (1pm CBS)

The Bills are coming off their bye. They should be fresh and ready to beat the Chargers. I’m picking the Bills for the win.

NY Giants (3-7) @ Bengals (2-7-1) (1pm FOX)

The Giants will be facing the backup’s backup quarterback for the Bengals. I’m picking the Giants to win this game, even though Joe Judge fired their offensive line coach right before the bye because he called him a “really naughty name.” GO GMEN! 3 in a row?

Titans (7-3) @ Colts (7-3) (1pm CBS)

I’m going to have to go with the Colts at home, as long as Phillip Rivers has a good game. Regardless, it should be a good game.

Panthers (4-7) @ Vikings (4-6)  (1pm FOX)

The stupid Vikings were supposed to win last week. Can they beat the Panthers? I hope not. But I think they will. I’m picking the Vikings for the win.

Cardinals (6-4) @ Patriots (4-6) (1pm FOX)

As long as Kylar Murry can play I think that the Cardinals will win this game. I’m picking the Cardinals for the win.

Dolphins (6-4) @ Jets (0-10) (1pm CBS)

Will the Jets get their first win of the season? Probably not. I’m picking the Dolphins to win this game.

Browns (7-3) @ Jaguars (1-9) (1pm CBS)

I really need Nick Chubb to have a huge game. I’m picking the Browns to win this game.

Saints (8-2) @ Broncos (4-6) (4:05pm FOX)

Will Taysom Hill start this game as QB? Will ESPN Fantasy change him from a TE position to a QB only position? Will the Broncos beat the Saints?  Probably. Hopefully.  Doubtful. I’m going with the Saints to win this game.

49ers (4-6) @ Rams (7-3) (4:05pm FOX)

The 49ers are coming off their bye. They are well rested. With that said I’m picking the Rams to win this game.

Chiefs (9-1) @ Buccaneers (7-4) (4:25pm CBS)

I think this is going to be another nail biting type of game. Patrick Mahomes is my starting quarterback so I am going to pick the Chiefs to win this game.

Bears (5-5) @ Packers (7-3) (8:20pm NBC)

I hope that this is a very low scoring game in which the Packers win. It would be better for my defense if the Packers lost, but I just don’t see that happening. I’m picking the Packers to win this game.

Monday, November 30th

Seahawks (7-3) @ Eagles (3-6-1) (8:15pm ESPN)

I hope the Seahawks trounce the Eagles. Really. Crush them. I’m picking the Seahawks for the win.

None scheduled, but, you know, it could happen.

The Shenoa Report Week 11 '20 #theshenoareport

The Shenoa Report
November 19, 2020
Regular Season Week 11

You guys! The Giants have won two weeks in a row AND they can’t lose this week because they have their BYE!!!!! Woot! This I am thankful for.
There are COVID-19 positives everywhere and honestly, I can’t keep up with which team has which. With COVID-19 infection rates rising rapidly throughout the country, the NFL announced that starting on Saturday all 32 teams will operate for the rest of the season under the league's intensive protocol. To read more about it go here: https://www.nfl.com/news/all-nfl-teams-to-operate-in-covid-19-intensive-protocol-starting-saturday

Wear a damn mask if you are going out. Better yet, stay home, read The Shenoa Report, and enjoy some football from the comfort of your home.

I went 9-5 in my picks and lost in fantasy. Here’s the recap of week 10.

Colts @ Titans 34-17
The Colts stunned the Titans, and everyone else, on Thursday night. Indy’s defense held Derrick Henry to just 103 yards, which really is saying something. Nyheim Hines had 2 touchdowns, one rushing the other from a pass from Philip Rivers. Rivers threw for over 300 yards and, more importantly, had no interceptions. The Colts special teams blocked a punt which was returned for a touchdown. In the fourth quarter the Colts were doing so well that they pulled Rivers from the game and put in Jacoby Brissett, who also had a rushing touchdown. I got this pick wrong.

Texans @ Browns 7-10
The final score should’ve been 7-17. Nick Chubb was back in the lineup and had the only touchdown for the Browns. He should have had 2, but he went out of bounds on the 1 yard line to seal the win for Cleveland. Classy, yes. Good for fantasy football, no.  It was a good defensive game. A lot of punts, and the only scoring plays came in the first quarter and the 4th quarter.

Jaguars @ Packers 20-24
The Jags, although they have only won one game this season, sure did put up a fight. They scored in every quarter, didn’t allow Green Bay to score in the first and third quarter, and really tried to spoil the Packers’ day. In the fourth quarter the Jags picked off Aaron Rodgers but their offense had to settle for a field goal. It’s clear that the Jags offense needs to step up more to finish games.

Washington @ Lions 27-30
This game was a real nail biter. It was one of those games that really came down to the last play. Alex Smith started the game in his first start since “the accident.” Even though he didn’t have a touchdown on the day, he had close to 400 passing yards! The game was decided with 16 seconds to go when Matt Prater kicked the game winning field goal from 59 yards. Had Prater missed, the game would have gone into overtime, and I think that the Football Team would have won.

Eagles @ NY Giants 17-27
YEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!! The Giants have now won two in a row. For the fans, it feels more like they’ve won 10 in a row. Oh 2020. It was such a great win, we haven’t beaten the Eagles since 2016! Ugh, it was time! Danny Jones, for the second week in a row, didn’t have a turnover, nor did he fall down while trying to score a touchdown. In fact he had 2 rushing touchdowns, only one was called back because the percussionist was called for holding. The percussionist is how we refer to this year's 4th overall draft pick, because that’s what he’s known for, clearly not for playing football… The Giants defense had an amazing game, they didn’t let the Eagles convert a single 3rd down, and they converted 9 of their own!!! It’s probably too soon to say that the Giants have turned a corner, but 1st place in the division is easily in their grasp.

Buccaneers @ Panthers 46-23
Clearly, the Buccaneers rebounded from their loss the previous week and put a hurting on the Panthers. Carolina, again without McCaffrey, struggled the entire game. The first quarter was their best, with 2 touchdowns, but after that they just kinda fizzled out while the Bucs momentum snowballed forward. Tom Brady threw 3 touchdown passes and ran for another. This was all after what should’ve been a 45 minute plane ride to Charlotte ended up taking 8 hours. The team was stranded on the tarmac after their original flight was delayed more than 6 hours due to mechanical issues and were forced to board a new plane to Charlotte. I guess the team had a lot of time to strategize how to beat the Panthers.

Broncos @ Raiders 12-37
One of the biggest reasons I lost in fantasy this past week was because my opponent started Josh Jacobs and I started Philip Lindsay. Jacobs had 21 carries, 112 rushing yards, and 2 touchdowns. In my stupid league, where points per touch is a thing, it turned in to 51 points for Jacobs. Lindsay in comparison had 4 points. I also started Noah Fant who had a total of 4 points as well. The Broncos surely did not help me this week in fantasy but the Raiders were my opponents MVP. The Raiders are firing on all cylinders, offense, defense, and special teams. Their defense, for example, picked off Drew Lock FOUR times. If you are a Broncos fan, I’m sorry.

Chargers  @ Dolphins 21-29
The Dolphins are not the team they used to be. They have 6 wins this season so far, I think they had 6 wins in the combined last 7 years. (That’s my sarcastic font, it’s not true, but if you’re a Dolphins fan it might feel like it.) In a division that the Patriots dominated for close to 2 decades the Dolphins now have a chance to rise to the top. They just have to do better than the Bills this season… If Miami’s defense continues to stand strong and Tua continues to grow with the offense we could be seeing the Dolphins like they were when Dan Marino was the quarterback.

Bills @ Cardinals 30-32
*Disclaimer* Bills fans, you may not want to read this write up. It’s going to be too painful. You might just want to skip past this one and let out a big sigh of relief that week 11 is your bye week and the Bills can’t lose!
This game was back and forth and a thriller to watch. With 34 seconds left in the game Josh Allen threw an incredible pass to Stefon Diggs in the end zone to go up by 4. The Bills entire team and fans alike thought they had sealed the win. Game over. But the game wasn’t over. In just 32 seconds and 4 plays the Cardinals mounted a comeback for the ages. With 2 seconds left in the game Kyler Murray scrambled and threw a bomb to DeAndre Hopkins in the end zone surrounded by 3 Bills defenders. Hopkins stole the ball out of the air and came down with the winning touchdown. Quarterback fans are calling it a “Hail Murray” instead of a “Hail Mary” while wide receiver fans are calling it a “Hail Hopkins.” Bills fans are calling it heartburn, disappointment, and terror.

Seahawks @ Rams 16-23
The Seahawks have hit rock bottom in just 2 weeks.  Russell Wilson threw 2 interceptions and 0 touchdowns, DK Metcalf only had 2 receptions for 28 yards and the running game was non-existent. The Rams, on the other hand, had 3 rushing touchdowns, Malcolm Brown had 2 and Darrell Henderson had the other. Jarred Goff didn’t have a touchdown but didn’t throw an interception either. The NFC West has a 3 way tie for first place, and the Seahawks need to rebound quickly in order to stay in the running.

49ers @ Saints 13-27
Drew Brees did not have a good day. He didn’t have an interception and did have one touchdown before leaving the game with 5 broken ribs and a punctured lung. Jameis Winston came in for the injured Brees to finish the game. Thankfully for the Saints, Alvin Kamara had a very good game with 2 rushing touchdowns and 1 receiving. The Saints defense also stepped up, intercepting Nick Mullens twice, holding the 49ers to just one touch down and two field goals.

Bengals @ Steelers 10-36
It was pretty much the Big Ben show in Pittsburgh. The Bengals couldn’t contain Roethlisberger, who had 4 touchdowns on the day. This was to be expected as the Steelers are now 9-0 for the first time in franchise history. That’s really all I have to say about the Steelers. I’m not happy about it, it is what it is.

Ravens @ Patriots 17-23
This game was pretty fun to watch. It looked like it was being played in a monsoon. It was evident that the Patriots had practiced in inclement weather while the Ravens had not. Even though the Ravens are the better team, by a landslide, the playing field was even because of the weather. Patriots running back Rex Burkhead had a great game with 2 touchdowns, while he sat on my bench in fantasy. Oh well, even if I had played my best lineup I still would’ve lost. Kinda like the Ravens.

Vikings @ Bears 19-13
If the Bears had a better quarterback they probably would’ve won this game. Nick Foles continues to be the achilles heel of Chicago. The defense did a pretty good job of containing Delvin Cook and even picked off Kirk Cousins once. Cordarrelle Patterson had a 104 yard kickoff return for a touchdown for the Bears but Nick Foles had an interception and no touchdowns.

WEEK 11

Thursday, November 19th

Cardinals (6-3) @ Seahawks (6-3) (8:20pm FOX/NFLN)
A game of angry birds. Gosh, the Seahawks have got to get back to winning. This will probably be a close game but I’m going to pick the Seahawks to win this game because I can’t see them falling to 3 straight losses.

Sunday, November 22nd

Eagles (3-5-1) @ Browns (6-3)  (1pm FOX)
I’m picking the Browns to win this game and I hope they put a beating on the Eagles in the process.

Falcons (3-6) @ Saints (7-2) (1pm FOX)
The Saints will be without Drew Brees so it’s up to Jameis Winston to lead the team to victory. This could be a trap game for New Orleans since the Falcons just started to figure out how to finish games. I’m going to pick the Saints to win this game but I will not be surprised if this doesn’t happen.

Bengals (2-6-1) Washington (2-7) (1pm CBS)
I hate to say it, but Washington is coming together. I think they could actually win this game. I don’t want them to because I need all the teams in the NFC East to lose this week, as it’ll be good for the Giants on their bye. With all that said I’m picking the Football Team to win but I hope I’m wrong. Go Bengals!

Lions (4-5) @ Panthers (3-7) (1pm FOX)
Lions running back D’Andre Swift has a concussion and probably won't play in this game. Therefore I am picking the Panthers to win.

Steelers (9-0) @ Jaguars (1-8) (1pm CBS)
I would love to see the Jags get their second win of the season but this is highly unlikely. I’m picking the Steelers to win this game.

Titans (6-3) @ Ravens (6-3) (1pm CBS)
Both these teams are coming off pretty humiliating losses and both teams need a win. Which one will actually get it? I’m picking the Ravens. Am I confident in this pick? No I am not.

Patriots (4-5) @ Texans (2-7)  (4:05pm CBS)
I’m going to pick the home team for the win. I don’t think that the Patriots can win three in a row. But who knows.

Dolphins (6-3) @ Broncos (3-6) (4:05pm CBS)
I think the Dolphins are the real deal and therefore will win this game against the struggling Broncos. Note to self, I should sit my Broncos players.

Jets (0-9) @ Chargers (2-7) (4:05pm CBS)
If you need a good laugh google Justin Herbert haircut. If the initial picture doesn’t get you a giggle the comments are sure to. I promise. Hopefully Herbert isn’t like Sampson and all the power and strength was in his hair. I’m picking the Chargers to win this game but really wouldn’t be shocked if the Jets got their first win of the season… In week 11.

Packers (7-2) @ Colts (6-3) (4:25pm FOX)
This’ll be a good game. I’m picking the Packers to win, but they will have to really work for this win because the Colts defense is legit.

Cowboys (2-7) @ Vikings (4-5) (4:25pm FOX)
Andy Dalton has had a rough three weeks. First he got a concussion and was knocked out of the game then he contracted COVID-19. Dalton said “the COVID hit me hard the first day I had it, then it gradually started feeling better.” He was concussed on top of it all so, who knows. With all that being said, Dalton is supposed to start against the Vikings. I’m picking the Vikings to win this game.

Chiefs (8-1) @ Raiders (6-3) (8:20pm NBC)
The Chiefs are fresh off their bye so I’m picking them to win this game. I’m also picking them to win this game because I have to start their defense and Patrick Mahomes is my quarterback in fantasy.

Monday, November 23rd

Rams (6-3) @ Buccaneers (7-3) (8:15pm ESPN)
I’d like to see the Rams win this game but I’ll be picking the Bucs for the win.

The Shenoa Report Week 10 '20 #theshenoareport

The Shenoa Report
November 12, 2020
Regular Season Week 10

During the offseason NFL owners agreed to expand the playoffs from 12 games to 14 games. On Wednesday of this week NFL owners approved a proposal to add two playoff teams, 8 in each conference, if regular season games get cancelled. So there is a potential for playoffs to go from 12 games to 16! Oh 2020, how you seem to keep us on our toes. Heading into week 10 some teams have started to think about the playoffs. Other teams, like the Jets will just be happy to get a win this season.

I try to give a Covid-19 update each week. From November 1-7 there were 56 positive tests, 15 from players and 41 from team personnel. Since then the Ravens and Steelers have had more positive cases. Ben Roethlisberger hasn't tested positive yet but is in quarantine due to being in close proximity to Vance McDonald who did. It’s hard to keep up. Maybe I should just start reporting when no teams have a case… 2022?

I went 11-3 in my picks and won again in fantasy. Here’s the recap of week 9.

Packers @ 49ers 34-17
The Packers beat up the 49ers Thursday night. Aaron Rodgers had 4 touchdowns and Mason Crosby had 2 field goals, both on my bench in fantasy. I thought I had made a big mistake not playing them, I was projected to lose. The 49ers couldn’t get anything going until the fourth quarter, they had two touchdowns then but it was too little too late.

Seahawks @ Bills 34-44
Yikes! I got this pick wrong. The Bills came out with a vengeance against the Seahawks. Russell Wilson was ranked as the number 1 quarterback for fantasy, and anyone who started him suffered a major blow. Wilson himself had FOUR turnovers, 2 interceptions and 2 fumbles. It was absolutely ugly.  The Bills only had one bad quarter, the 3rd, in true Bills fashion, but they had built up quite a lead that it didn’t matter much. The Bills lead the AFC East midseason for the first time in pretty much forever.

Broncos @ Falcons 27-34
The Falcons finally won a home game, but more importantly stopped a Broncos comeback, barely. We’ve seen this story all too much this season. The Falcons have the lead heading into the 4th quarter and repeatedly end up losing the game. They were well on their way to that scenario in the fourth quarter of this game by letting the Broncos score 3 touchdowns in the fourth. Thankfully, for the Falcons, they were able to hold on for the win.

Ravens  @ Colts 24-10
The Colts defense continues to be decent, and Philip Rivers continues to hurt his team. Rivers’ interceptions seemed to be a turning point in the game, giving the Ravens the confidence to finish the game. Baltimore shut out the Colts in the second half of the game.

Bears  @ Titans 17-24
Tennessee's defense shut out the Bears for the first 3 quarters. They must have gotten tired in the fourth quarter, allowing 17 points with 2 touchdowns coming in the last 5 minutes of the game. The damage was already done and the Titans came out with the win.

Lions @ Vikings 20-34
The Lions defense could not contain Dalvin Cook who had 206 yards and 2 rushing touchdowns for the Vikings. They couldn’t contain Kirk Cousins either, who had 3 touchdowns and no interceptions. Matthew Stafford was back under center for the Lions after a covid scare, but maybe he should’ve sat the game out. He did have one touchdown but threw 2 interceptions.

Texans @ Jaguars 27-25
The Texans got their second win of the season but it wasn’t pretty. The game was evenly matched, because both teams are pretty pathetic. Texan’s JJ Watt finally got his first sack of the season, he’s become a little restless with Houston and has voiced that he wants to be on a winning team. Deshaun Watson had a decent game with 2 touchdowns and no interceptions.

Panthers @ Chiefs 31-33
Christian McCaffrey was back for the Panthers which helped make it a close game. McCaffrey had 2 touchdowns, one receiving and one rushing, the first and last touchdown of the game. But it was Patrick Mahomes that was the real star of this game, throwing 4 touchdown passes and putting up 372 yards. The Chiefs started slow but finished strong.

NY Giants @ Washington 23-20
Waaaaaaaaahoooooooooo! I mean, the Giants almost blew it, again, but instead won the game!!!!!!!!! It was really the Giants defense that won the game for New York as well as the lack of turnovers from Danny Jones. The Giants defense recovered one fumble and had 3 interceptions in this divisional win. Jabrill Peppers led the defense recovering a fumble early in the game and then intercepting Alex Smith’s pass late in the game, giving the Giants the W!

Raiders @ Chargers 31-26
I was right! The Raiders won and Keenan Allen got a touchdown. The Chargers actually had a chance to win this game but failed to convert on a two-point play after their final touchdown. The Raiders then marched down the field and kicked a field goal to win the game.

Steelers @ Cowboys 24-19
Yo, the Steelers almost lost this game. It was fun to watch the undefeated Steelers against the 2-win Cowboys…  Dallas, who had no chance in hell of winning this game, or so everyone thought, led for almost all of the first half! I wanted this game to end in a tie but the Steelers came alive in the fourth quarter to beat the Cowboys.

Dolphins @ Cardinals 34-31
I got this pick wrong too. Are the Dolphins for real? They seem to be! The game went back and forth and it was pretty close until the Dolphins shut out the Cardinals in the 4th quarter taking the win. Kyler Murray had four touchdowns, three passing and one rushing, but it wasn’t enough to win the game. I was shocked.

Saints @ Buccaneers 38-3
It’s hard to pinpoint when Tom Brady gave up completely but it sure was fun to watch. Brady had 3 interceptions and 0 touchdowns. The Bucs had a total of 4 rushes the entire game, while Drew Brees had 4 touchdowns. To say this game was unevenly matched is a huge understatement. I got this pick wrong as well, but you know what? I’m ok with it.

Patriots @ Jets 30-27
The Jets came very close to getting their first win of the season. But close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades. I started the Patriots defense in my fantasy team so I really only needed them to not get negative points. It wasn’t a pretty game, but Cam Newton didn’t turn the ball over and I think it was because of that the Patriots finally broke their losing streak.

WEEK 10

Thursday, November 12th

Colts (5-3) @ Titans (6-2) (8:20pm FOX/NFLN)
I’m going to pick the Titans to win this game, they have Derrick Henry and the Colts have Philip Rivers.

Sunday, November 15th

Texans (2-6) @ Browns (5-3)  (1pm FOX)
I’m picking the Browns to win this game, especially if Nick Chubb plays! Welcome back Chubb! I’ve missed you and so has my fantasy team!

Jaguars (1-7) @ Packers (6-2) (1pm CBS)
I’m pretty sure that the Packers are going to win this game. That’s my pick.

Washington (2-6) @ Lions (3-5) (1pm FOX)
The Lions haven’t won at home yet this season nor have the Football Team won on the road. I’m going to pick the Lions to win their first home game.

Eagles (3-4-1) @ NY Giants (2-7) (1pm FOX)
Against better judgement I am going to pick the Giants to win this game. Can they win 2 in a row and be in the run for first place in their division? Anything is possible in the NFC East. GO GMEN!!!!

Buccaneers (6-3) @ Panthers (3-6) (1pm FOX)
McCaffery  is out this week for the Panthers so I’m going to pick the Bucs to bounce back and win this divisional game.

Broncos (3-5) @ Raiders (5-3) (4:05pm CBS)
I’m going to pick the Raiders to win this game. I’d blame it on home field advantage, but that just isn’t the case this year.

Chargers (2-6) @ Dolphins (5-3)  (4:05pm CBS)
The Dolphins are on a roll, and the Chargers will probably lose another close game this week. I’m picking the Dolphins to win this game.

Bills (7-2) @ Cardinals (5-3) (4:05pm CBS)
I’m going to pick the Bills to win this game but I wouldn’t be surprised if the Cardinals upset Buffalo.

Seahawks (6-2) @ Rams (5-3) (4:25pm FOX)
I think that the Seahawks are going to bounce back from their humiliating loss last week. I’m picking the Seahawks to win this game.

49ers (4-5) @ Saints (6-2) (4:25pm FOX)
The Saints will win this game at home and Drew Brees will further extend his lead of most touchdown passes in the NFL over Brady.

Bengals (2-5-1) @ Steelers (8-0) (4:25pm CBS)
I’d like to see the Bengals win and I’ll be rooting for them too, but I’m picking the Steelers to win this game.

Ravens (6-2) @ Patriots (3-5) (8:20pm NBC)
I don’t think the Patriots really have a chance to win this game. I’m picking the Ravens for the win.

Monday, November 16th

Vikings (3-5) @ Bears (5-4) (8:15pm ESPN)
My fantasy win or loss, most likely loss, will be decided during this game. I have the Bears defense and my opponent has Dalvin Cook. I’m picking the Bears to win mostly for fantasy implications. Yes, I’m delusional.

The Shenoa Report Week 9 '20 #theshenoareport

The Shenoa Report
November 5, 2020
Regular Season Week 9

This week there have been positive tests in the Packers, 49ers, Bears, Texans, and Lions organizations as of today. No games have been cancelled or postponed yet.
Election day was Tuesday and we still don’t know who will be the next president of the United States. I’ve been refreshing my news app this week just as much, if not more, than I do my fantasy football app on Sunday and Monday night.
I went 8-6 in my picks and finally won again in fantasy. Here’s the recap of week 8.

Falcons @ Panthers 25-17
The Falcons finally finished a game, and won, surprising pretty much everyone. The game wasn’t pretty and at any point the Panthers could’ve come out on top. It was honestly a disappointment to see the Falcons win, as I had gotten so used to seeing them blow it.

Raiders @ Browns 16-6
I got this pick wrong too. The Raiders held the Browns to 2 field goals, shutting them out the first and fourth quarters. The Browns just couldn’t get things together. The weather didn’t help, as there were turnovers, missed field goals and a lot of different precipitation including hail. I think the Browns are just too beat up right now.

Patriots @ Bills 21-24
For almost the entire game it looked like the Patriots would beat the Bills again at home. And then, late in the fourth, the Patriots were driving.  Cam Newton stepped up, started to rush towards the end zone, and fumbled the ball. The Bills, with a sigh of relief, were able to kneel it out, winning the game. The Patriots have now lost 4 in a row!

Titans @ Bengals 20-31
Yup, I got this pick incorrect as well, but I think everyone did. I mean, this win was the most shocking of week 8. Joe Burrow had everything going his way with 249 passing yards and 2 touchdowns, with no interceptions. The Bengals defense also stepped up and held Derrick Henry to one touchdown and intercepted a Ryan Tannehill pass.

Vikings @ Packers 28-22
Okay, actually this might have been the most surprising win in week 8. I got this pick wrong too! Uugh! The third quarter is what took the Packers out of this game. They didn’t put up a single point while the Vikings scored 2 touchdowns. Green Bay tried to mount a comeback in the fourth quarter but came up short. It was shocking indeed.

Colts @ Lions 41-21
I knew that the Lions couldn’t win three in a row. The Colts came to Detroit with a vengeance. Philip Rivers made it through a game with no interceptions! In the second quarter alone, the Colts had 3 touchdowns. Nyheim Hines had two of them. He showed off his acrobatics in both of his celebrations. They were impressive and I wonder if he could be in the olympics as a gymnast? The Colts seem to be on a great path to the post season.

Jets @ Chiefs 9-35
Patrick Mahomes had so much fun in this win over the Jets. He had 5 touchdowns and 416 passing yards on the day! At one point, after Tyreek Hill’s second touchdown, Patrick decided to give Tyreek a piggyback ride in celebration. It was a good day to be a Chiefs fan, or to have Mahomes on your fantasy team, which I did! Thanks for helping me beat the commissioner of my league Patrick!

Rams @ Dolphins 17-28
Tua Tagovailoa got his first win in the NFL as a starting quarterback. It didn’t start too well for him though, as he got sacked on the second play of the Dolphins first possession,  fumbling and turning over the ball, which led to a Rams touchdown. Turnovers were kind of the theme of this game. Both teams had turnovers that lead to touchdowns. The Dolphins had a big second quarter with three touchdowns, none of them Tua passes. Tua did make up for his fumble in the first quarter by throwing a touchdown pass to DeVante Parker at the end of first quarter. Clearly, the Rams were not prepared for the Dolphins, either that, or they didn’t take them seriously.

Steelers @ Ravens 28-24
Stupid Steelers. This game was back and forth and close till the end. The Steelers were just a little bit better on defense, intercepting Lamar Jackson twice, and ultimately the demise of the Ravens.

Chargers @ Broncos 30-31
The Broncos finally won a game at home!  The Chargers blew a 21 point lead in the third quarter and the Broncos clawed back in the fourth quarter to take the game. Both quarterbacks had interceptions, but it was Drew Lock that came out on top with his third touchdown pass to KJ Hamler at the end of the game to seal the win.

Saints @ Bears 26-23 OT
It took an overtime, but like I predicted, the Bears aren’t as good as their record, and the Saints won the game. The Bears defense is the reason they are doing so well this season, while quarterback Nick Foles seems to be the team's achilles heel. Mitch Trubisky was back under center for one play, he got hurt and was taken out again. Do you think they will call Jake Cutler out of retirement?  Time will tell. The best part of the game was the fight that ensued between Bears WR Javon Wims and Saints CB C.J. Gardner-Johnson. Apparently C.J. spit on Javon and ripped out his mouthpiece. This led to Javon sucker punching C.J.. Wims was disqualified from the rest of the game and has been suspended.

49ers @ Seahawks 27-37
The 49ers are injury ridden and lost two more players in this loss. Jimmy G and George Kittle sustained injuries that will keep them out for the foreseeable future. The Seahawks, on the other hand, looked strong as they beat their opponent soundly. Russell Wilson had four passing touchdowns, 2 to DK Metcalf, 1 to DeeJay Dallas, and 1 to David Moore.

Cowboys @ Eagles 9-23
The Cowboys led for a short time in this game, but couldn’t hold on because, well, they are terrible. The Eagles are also not good but someone has to win the NFC East. This game was a trainwreck to watch and ended with a fumble out of bounds in the end zone to give the Eagles 2 more points with a safety. The perfect end to a not so perfect game.

Buccaneers @ NY Giants 25-23
Sigh. I really don’t know what to say at this point. Out of the seven games the Giants have lost, five of them are one score games, three of them by 3 points or less. This game should’ve been different. They lost, yes, but it should’ve been a blowout, not come down to the last play of the game with a failed two point conversion. A blowout loss would’ve hurt much less. Almost every week I’ve typed the phrase, “false hope.” So much false hope. Thanks again Gmen for the false hope.

Here's a little recap of some of the things I've said about my beloved team...

Week 7, 21-22, “the open field tripped him (Danny Jones) up and he fell flat on his face before he hit the endzone. That pretty much sums up the Giants season. So much false hope. Ugh. This game. Stupid Giants.”
Week 6, 19-20, “The Giants ALMOST blew it, but instead it was Washington who couldn’t get it done in the end and they lost the game.”
Week 5, 34-37, “False hope. Every frickin time.”
Week 4, 9-17, “I can’t believe we have 12 more weeks of this nonsense.”
Week 3 was a blow out.
Week 2, 13-17, “Not gonna lie, I cried a bit during this game. The final score does not reflect how the game actually went.”
Week 1, 26-16, “Well, the Giants looked good in the first quarter and the Steelers looked terrible, and then everything switched.”

WEEK 8

Thursday, November 5th

Packers (5-2) @ 49ers (4-4) (8:20pm FOX/NFLN)
Both teams have positive cases, the 49ers have more. The game should be played tonight, and I am going to pick the Packers to bounce back and beat the beat up 49ers.

Sunday, November 8th

Seahawks (6-1) @ Bills (6-2)  (1pm FOX)
This should be a good game, and a close game. Sorry Bills fans, I’m picking the Seahawks to win this game.

Broncos (3-4) @ Falcons (2-6) (1pm CBS)
I don’t think that the Falcons can win two games in a row and they haven’t won at home yet this season. I also don’t think that the Broncos can win two games in a row, though they do have two road wins. Will this game end in a tie? Probably. Regardless, I hope it’s a high scoring game. I think I’ll pick the Falcons to win this game. Why not?

Ravens (5-2) @ Colts (5-2) (1pm CBS)
The Ravens should win this game, but the Colts are looking really good right now. I’m going to pick the Ravens to win but it wouldn’t surprise me if I was wrong.

Bears (5-3) @ Titans (5-2) (1pm FOX)
I’m picking the Titans to bounce back and get the win after their humiliating loss last week.
Lions (3-4) @ Vikings (2-5) (1pm CBS)
The Vikings have not won a home game yet this season. They are coming off a great divisional win and have a chance to get another this week. Lion’s quarterback Matt Stafford has been put on the Covid-19 reserve list so there is no guarantee that he’ll even play. Therefore, I’m going to pick the Vikings to win this game.

Texans (1-6) @ Jaguars (1-6) (1pm CBS)
One of these teams will get their second win of the season. I’m picking the Texans to do just that.

Panthers (5-2) @ Chiefs (7-1) (1pm FOX)
It looks like Christian McCaffrey will be back for the Panthers in this game. With that said, I’m picking the Chiefs to win this game.

NY Giants (1-7) @ Washington (2-5) (1pm FOX)
This will be the second matchup between these two teams. The Giants won the first match, mostly because the Football Team blew it. Could the Giants be so lucky again? We’ll if they are going to win another game this season, this would be the game. Therefore, I’m going to pick the Giants to win this game. Let’s see how far that false hope will get me.

Raiders (4-3) @ Chargers (2-5) (4:05pm FOX)
I’m picking the Raiders to win this game. But I do hope that Keenan Allen has a fantastic game for the Chargers.

Steelers (7-0) @ Cowboys (2-6) (4:25pm CBS)
I think that the Steelers could put in their practice squad and still beat the Cowboys. I’m picking the Steelers to win this game.

Dolphins (4-3) @ Cardinals (5-1) (4:25pm CBS)
I’m picking the Cardinals to win this game. I don’t think that the Dolphins can win two in a row.

Saints (5-2) @ Buccaneers (6-2) (8:20pm NBC)
I’d like to see the Saints win this game, but I don’t think it’s going to happen. I’m picking the Bucs to win this game.

Monday, November 9th

Patriots (2-5) @ Jets (0-8) (8:15pm ESPN)
I’m picking the Patriots to stop their losing streak with this game. The Jets will put up a good fight, but the Patriots will win this game.

The Shenoa Report Week 8 '20 #theshenoareport

The Shenoa Report
October 29, 2020
Regular Season Week 8

The most important thing going into week 8 is making sure you have a voting plan. Polls are open now in many places, so get out there and VOTE!
As for Halloween, we’ve been wearing masks and eating candy for the last 7 months, I don’t think we need a day dedicated to it anymore.
There are positive tests in the Giants and Chargers organization as of today.

I went 10-4 in my picks and lost again in fantasy. … Here’s the recap of week 7.

NY Giants @ Eagles 21-22

Danny Jones is still the leading rusher, by far, for the Giants. His most memorable rush of his career was 80 yards at 21.8 mph. Unfortunately the open field tripped him up and he fell flat on his face before he hit the endzone. That pretty much sums up the Giants season. So much false hope. Ugh. This game. Stupid Giants.

Lions @ Falcons 23-22

For the fourth time this season the Falcons blew what should've been a win. They are continually in their own Groundhogs Day nightmare that started with their blown loss in overtime in the Super Bowl. This time they blamed the loss on Todd Gurley, because he scored a touchdown! Maybe if the Falcons defense actually stepped up they wouldn’t have to blame a member of their offense for the loss. If they are going to place any blame at all it should be on the defense.

Browns @ Bengals 37-34

I’ve had 3 Browns on my fantasy team. Nick Chubb - MCL sprain - IR, Austin Hooper - Appendicitis - Out, and most recently OBJ - torn ACL - out for the rest of the season. The Browns have been bad luck for me.  With OBJ going out early after trying to make a tackle after a Baker Mayfield interception things looked bleak for Cleveland. Mayfield turned it around throwing five touchdowns to get the win.

Steelers @ Titans 27-24

This is one of those head scratching games where the “winning” quarterback has more interceptions (3) than touchdowns (2). While the losing quarterback had 2 touchdowns and zero interceptions. Alas, Pittsburgh is the only undefeated team left. Sigh.

Panthers @ Saints 24-27

The Saints, fresh off their bye, got the win over the Panthers. The game was very evenly matched, but it was the Saints that scored  last, winning the game.

Bills @ Jets 18-10

The Bills trailed against the J-E-T-S the entire first half. Bahhahahaha. Then they got their shit together, kinda, and shut them out in the second half. The Bills were not able to score any touchdowns, they survived on field goals.

Cowboys @ Washington 3-25

The Cowboys are in an epic collapse. As a Giants fan, it’s wonderful to watch. Andy Dalton was pulled out of the game after a dirty hit and is now in concussion protocol. Third string quarterback Ben DiNucci took over and fumbled on the first play he was on the field. The Football Team dominated on both offense and defense, making this win look easy.

Packers @ Texans 35-20

The Packers definitely bounced back with this win over Houston. Aaron Rodgers had 4 touchdowns to DeSaun Watson’s 2. Davante Adams also had a big day catching 2 touchdown passes. I think it's safe to say the Packers are back.

Chiefs @ Broncos 43-16

This was indeed the first snow game of the season. Unfortunately for me, I didn’t start the Chiefs defense in fantasy, if I had, I probably would have won this past week. To add insult to injury the Chiefs were doing so well they pulled Patrick Mahomes, who was my starting quarterback. I guess I should’ve started Rodgers with the 4 touchdowns. On top of all that, I started Philip Lindsay who was pulled out of the game with a concussion. I just can’t win.

49ers @ Patriots 33-6

Stupid me, started the Patriots defense… The Patriots haven’t lost this bad at home since 2005. Cam Newton threw 3 interceptions before he was benched and backup Jarrett Stidham was put in. Who, incidentally, threw another interception. At this point the Pats should lose the rest of their games in hopes that they can draft Trevor Lawrence. In other news, it was national Tight End day, it was a good day for George Kittle indeed.

Jaguars @ Chargers 29-39

The Chargers were finally able to get their second win of the season. Justin Herbert was on fire with 347 passing yards, 3 passing touchdowns, and 1 rushing touchdown. The Jags defense couldn’t even.

Buccaneers @ Raiders 45-20

The Bucs are truly a different team this year. They are like the Lakers in basketball. Sign all the big names for one season in hopes to win a championship. Tom Brady managed 4 touchdowns with no interecptions this game while his team rallied around him. Even Leonard Fournette had a touchdown, while on my bench.

Seahawks @ Cardinals 34-37 OT

I was tired, the Seahawks were up by 10 late in the fourth quarter, so I went to bed. D’oh! (Said like Homer Simpson) Boy was I surprised to hear that the Seahawks lost in overtime. Looking at the stats it makes sense; Russell Wilson had 3 interceptions to Kylar Murray’s 1. DK Metcalf saved one of Wilson's picks by running the  length of the field to tackle the defender on the 8 yard, preventing a pick 6.  Defender Budda Baker was even surprised that he was caught and tackled thinking he had an open field.

Bears @ Rams 10-24

Nick Foles continues to struggle with 2 interceptions and no touchdowns Monday night. The Rams, on the other hand, were not bothered by what everyone thought was a great Bears defense racking up 3 touchdowns and a field goal.

WEEK 8

Thursday, October 29th

Falcons (1-6) @ Panthers (3-4) (8:20pm FOX/NFLN)

Tonight will be a windy rainy mess as tropical storm Zeta is due to roll through Charlotte. Christian McCaffrey will not suit up for this game against the Falcons. Hopefully the wind bodes well for Gurley’s game giving him a lot of touches. I’m going to pick the Panthers to win but I’m sure that the Falcons will be up at one point and blow the lead.

Sunday, November 1st

Raiders (3-3) @ Browns (5-2)  (1pm FOX)

The Browns have not lost a game at home yet this season and I hope that trend continues. They’ve lost a lot of players due to injuries but those have been replaced by seemingly talented players. I’m picking the Browns to win this game.

Patriots (2-4) @ Bills (5-2) (1pm CBS)

Julian Edelman has had a procedure on his knee and will be out for this game against the Bills. I’m picking the Bills to win this game, though the last time the Patriots lost in Buffalo was 2011. GO BILLS!

Titans (5-1) @ Bengals (1-5-1) (1pm CBS)

I’m picking the Titans to win this game. I think that the Bengals are beat up too much to even make a run for it.

Vikings (1-5) @ Packers (5-1) (1pm FOX)

This is always a fun division rivalry to watch. I’m picking the Packers to win this go around. I think I pick the Packers to win this matchup every time.

Colts (4-2) @ Lions (3-3) (1pm CBS)

I guess it’ll depend on which Philip Rivers shows up. He seems to be the weakest link in the Colts offense, well him and T.Y. Hilton. Why doesn’t Rivers show any love to T.Y.? I didn’t think that the Lions could win two in a row and they proved me wrong. Can they win three in a row, no I don’t think so. I’m going to pick the Colts to win this game.

Jets (0-7) @ Chiefs (6-1) (1pm CBS)

I’m going to go out on a limb and pick the Chiefs to win this game. (Insert sarcasm here)

Rams (5-2) @ Dolphins (3-3) (1pm FOX)

The Dolphins are fresh off their bye and starting a rookie quarterback. I’m picking the Rams to win this game.

Steelers (6-0) @ Ravens (5-1) (1pm CBS)

I’m picking the Ravens to win this game, mostly because I don’t like the Steelers. Also, I have Justin Tucker and Marquis Brown on my fantasy team.

Chargers (2-4) @ Broncos (2-4) (4:05pm CBS)

The Broncos, who have not won a game at home yet this season, are playing the Chargers who only have one win on the road. I am going to pick the Broncos to win this game.

Saints (4-2) @ Bears (5-2) (4:25pm FOX)

I maintain that the Bears are not as good as their record. Therefore, I’m picking the Saints to win this game.

49ers (4-3) @ Seahawks (5-1) (4:25pm FOX)

I think that the Seahawks will bounce back and win this game.

Cowboys (2-5) @ Eagles (2-4-1) (8:20pm NBC)

I hope this game ends in a tie. No, really. I’m picking the Eagles for the win, but hoping for a tie.

Monday, November 2nd

Buccaneers (5-2) @ NY Giants (1-7) (8:15pm ESPN)

I’m picking the Bucs. This will be a tough game to watch. Maybe I’ll just go to bed early so I can get up early to vote… GO GMEN! #VOTE!

BYE
Cardinals, the Football Team, Jaguars, Texans
GO GMEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for the edit Eric!
