Regular Season Week 6

Cancer sucks. We have all been personally affected by that horrible word. In the month of October, while watching the NFL you used to see a lot of pink on the uniforms. This was to show support, awareness, and the fight for breast cancer, research, those lost, and survivors. Recently, the NFL decided to include other types of cancer awareness by launching an app to help with early detection. This is called the Crucial Catch. Since 2009, the first year of the NFL's Crucial Catch campaign, the NFL’s work has raised more than $18.5 million for the American Cancer Society. When you buy anything with the Crucial Catch logo on it from the NFL shop proceeds go towards cancer research. The NFL does not retain any profits generated by royalties received due to the sale of Crucial Catch products. All dollars are donated to the American Cancer Society. Cancer sucks. Please, get yourself checked out, early detection saves lives.

Week five was also not a good week for my picks, I went 7-8 again. This is not acceptable. I will do better in week 6. I did get the Thursday night game right though so I’m now 1-4 on Thursday night… I am 3-2 in my fantasy league. The Patriots and 49ers are the only undefeated teams left going into week 6 and the Jets, Bengals, Redskins, and Dolphins still haven’t gotten a win.

Here is the recap for week five.

Rams @ Seahawks 29-30
This game came down to a field goal with 11 seconds left in the game for the Rams to win, and then kicker Greg Zuerlein missed and the Seahawks won the game. And I finally got a Thursday night pick correct.

Cardinals @ Bengals 26-23
The Cardinals finally got their first win of the season. This game also came down to a last minute field goal to win the game and the Cardinals kicker Zane Gonzalez nailed it.

Bills @ Titans 14-7
The Bills overcame injury, with a great defense and got the win over the Titans. I know it surprised me too.

Bears @ Raiders 21-24
I think the Bears missed their flight across the pond. They looked pathetic and made the Raiders look good.

Buccaneers @ Saints 24-31
Teddy Bridgewater is 3-0 as the starting quarterback while Drew Brees is out. I just wish he would hand off more balls to Kamara. The Saints won in an almost too close for comfort fashion.

Jets @ Eagles 6-31
The Eagles defense came out big time over the Jets in this rout on Sunday afternoon. This is one of the picks I actually got right this weekend.

Vikings @ NY Giants 28-10
I knew I shouldn't have picked the Giants to win this game. They looked abysmal and made the Vikings look fantastic. It was hard to watch so, for once, I was glad that I was working and missed the majority of the game.

Ravens @ Steelers 26-23 OT
I went back and forth on this pick and I’m glad I settled with the Ravens. It took overtime for them to win the game, but that did it and that’s all that matters.

Patriots @ Redskins 33-7
The Redskins are now 0-5 and they have fired head coach Jay Gruden because of it. It is definitely not a good time to be a Redskins fan.

Jaguars @ Panthers 27-34
With Jalen Ramsey out with a “back injury” the Jags have struggled on defense, that means my fantasy team has also struggled, but the Panthers were able to pull out a win.

Falcons @ Texans 32-53
The Texans went off against the Falcons. Watson had 5 touchdown passes, 3 of which went to Will Fuller, who had 55 points on my bench in my fantasy league. I lost to my bosses boss… It wasn’t a good week for fantasy but it was a great week if you are a Houston fan.

Broncos @ Chargers 20-13
Melvin Gordon did not help the Chargers and the Broncos got their first win of the season.

Packers @ Cowboys 34-24
The Cowboys have now dropped 2 games in a row. Aaron Rodgers didn’t throw any touchdown passes and that hurt my fantasy team. The Cowboys were down by so much Dak Presscott had to start throwing the ball to catch up, and guess who had Prescott on their fantasy team… my bosses boss.

Colts @ Chiefs 19-13
This was the most shocking loss of the week on my opinion. The Colts completely shut down the Chiefs allowing only one touchdown for the Chiefs usually high scoring offense.

Browns @ 49ers 3-31
I was pretty sour coming into this game knowing that in order to win fantasy Chubb had to score about 40 points, which, based on last week, wasn’t out of the question. Then the 49ers defense showed up and showed up big. You can see the final score… I, for one, am glad week 5 is over.

WEEK 6

Thursday October 10th

NY Giants (2-3) @ Patriots (5-0) [8:20pm FOX/NFLN]
Well, because it’s not the Super Bowl, and Eli isn’t starting, and Saquan Barkley (RB), Evan Engram (TE), Sterling Shepard (WR), Wayne Gallman (RB) are all out with injuries, I’m picking the Patriots to win. It would take a football miracle for the Giants to win. They’ve done it before but let’s be realistic. Go GMEN!

Sunday October 13th

Panthers (3-2) @ Buccaneers (2-3) [9:30am NFLN]
Set your coffee pots and get the pancakes ready for the morning game! The Panthers and Bucs are the next to take a trip across the pond. This game will be held in London at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Games in London usually go a little wonky with the team least expected to win surprising everyone. Therefore, I’m going to pick the Bucs to win this game.

Seahawks (4-1) @ Browns (2-3) [1pm FOX]
As much as I’d like to see the Browns succeed, ahem Chubb, I’m picking the Seahawks to win. I have the Browns defense and the Jags defense in fantasy. I think I need a new defense.

Texans (3-2) @ Chiefs (4-1) [1pm CBS]
I’d like to think that the Chiefs will bounce back from their humiliating loss over the Colts last week, but the Texans are flying high after their rout over the Falcons. I’m going to pick the Chiefs to win, but I wouldn’t be surprised if the Texans upset them at home.

Redskins (0-5) @ Dolphins (0-4) [1pm FOX]
Someone might actually win this game. It’ll probably end in a tie. The Redskins have a new interim coach and the Dolphins are just trying their best. Who will win? I’m picking the Redskins.

Eagles (3-2) @ Vikings (3-2) [1pm FOX]
The way the Vikings handled the Giants last week I think that I’m going to have to pick them this week. The Eagles are 1-1 on the road and the Vikings are 2-0 at home.

Saints (4-1) @ Jaguars (2-3) [1pm CBS]
I’m picking the Saints to win this game. Until Jalen Ramsey is back I don’t think the Jags defense can make a difference in the game.

Bengals (0-5) @ Ravens (3-2) [1pm CBS]
I’m predicting that the Bengals will go 0-6.

49ers (4-0) @ Rams (3-2) [4:05pm FOX]
Is this the game that the Rams finally get back on track or do the 49ers stay perfect? It’s a toss up. My heart says go with the Rams. My head says go with the 49ers. I’m going with my head, 49ers for the win.

Falcons (1-4) @ Cardinals (1-3-1) [4:05pm FOX]
The Falcons are 0-4 on the road and the Cardinals have at least tied at home. I’m picking the Cardinals for the win.

Titans (2-3) @ Broncos (1-4) [4:25pm CBS]
The Titans have won 2 on the road while the Broncos have yet to win at home. I’m picking the Titans to win this game.

Cowboys (3-2) @ Jets (0-4) [4:25pm CBS]
The Cowboys have dropped 2 in a row and as much as I would like this streak to continue, I think that they will snap it this game. Even though Sam Darnold is supposed to start for the first time since the beginning of the season for the Jets.

Steelers (1-4) @ Chargers (2-3) [8:20pm NBC]
I’m picking the Chargers for the win. I hope I’m right.

Monday October 14th

Lions (2-1-1) @ Packers (4-1) [8:15pm ESPN]
I’m picking the Packers over the Lions. Sorry Dean!

BYE: Bills, Bears, Colts, Raiders

GO GMEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for the edit Eric!
