The Shenoa Report Regular Season Week 5 '14

The Shenoa Report

Regular Season Week 5
October is here and that means breast cancer awareness month. We will be seeing a lot of pink in the NFL this month but hopefully they won’t be using the pink flags again. Can we all agree that that was a terrible idea? I also am sporting a pink strip in my hair in support.
I seem to have run out of time this week. I apologize that this report is so sparse. I lost in fantasy this past week and went 8-5 on my picks. We’ve had our first firing of the season. The Raiders have fired their head coach Dennis Allen after losing their first 4 games this season. At least he got to go to London with the team before being canned.

Anyway…
Let’s recap week 4

NY Giants  @ Redskins 45-14
This game was freakin fantastic!!!!!!!!!!! Larry Donnell  really made a name for himself by catching 3 touchdown passes, this is after he benched himself on his own fantasy team!!!!!! Eli looked amazing once again, even though he threw one interception (I still maintain that it was not an interception but a touch down.) He had 4 passing TDs and one “rushing” TD. There are quotes around “rushing” because the guy isn’t fast but still walked it into the end zone.  The Giants defense was also stellar forcing 6 turnovers.  I watched this game with a Redskins fan and decided to leave at halftime to maintain our friendship. I told her that she had the number on her jersey correct just the wrong team. Rachel if you ever want to trade in that RG3 jersey we can get you a real nice Manning #10 wink wink

Packers @ Bears 38-17
Well the Bears had an epic collapse.

Bills @ Texans 17-23
TOUCH DOWN FOR WATT (said like, “ Turn down for what?!” I hope its in your head now too) Seriously J.J. Watt is a beast. The Bills former quarterback Fitzpatrick is now the QB for the Texans and I guess he had a little chip on his shoulder playing his old team.  The Bills have switched their starting QB to Kyle Orton after losing to the Texans. Sorry Bills fans. Truly.

Titans @ Colts 17-41
This game didn’t really surprise me. Side note: if any of you watch “Bones” my dad seems to think that there is a striking resemblance between Dr. Lance Sweets and Andrew Luck.  Do you see it?  Regardless, the Colts dominated the Titans.

Panthers @ Ravens 10-38
Adam Schefter reported that “After four games this season, Steve Smith has as many multi-TD games with Joe Flacco as he had in three years with Cam Newton” Ouch. I was actually impressed with Smith this game because he didn’t taunt or get in anyone’s face after having such an amazing game. He just did his job. Smith had 2 touchdowns against the Panthers which helped the Ravens trounce their opponent.

Lions  @ Jets 24-17
Naturally Lions always win at the circus.

Buccaneers  @ Steelers 27-24
So I thought to myself, man, the Steelers are playing the Bucs! And my defense has a bye this week. I’ll pick up the Steelers D, I mean they are playing the Bucs!!!! Easy win….. Thanks to the Steelers I lost in fantasy football this week. BAHHHHHH

Dolphins @ Raiders 38-14
Ah yes, the first London game of the season… I feel like it would have probably been the same outcome back in the states.

Jaguars @ Chargers 14-33
I kinda wish that the Chargers weren’t so legit, not that I really like the Jags at all.

Eagles @ 49ers 21-26
FINALLY someone beat the Eagles. Thank you 49ers.

Falcons @ Vikings 28-41
The Falcons sure got embarrassed didn’t they?!

Saints @ Cowboys 17-38
For real? This game was just painful to watch. Thanks for nothing New Orleans.

Patriots @ Chiefs 14-41
Holy KC Batman!!!! Kinda wish I had watched this game instead of going to bed.  KC beat up on Brady so much that they took him out of the game and put in their back up QB Jimmy Garoppolo. No high-fives for Tom Terrific this week.

WEEK 5

Thursday October 2nd

Vikings (2-2) @ Packers (2-2) [8:25pm CBS, NFLN]
I’m going to pick the Packers for the win. Should be a good game. Rivalries always are. Maybe Favre will make an appearance. With his walker, with the bell on it, so you know he’s coming.

Sunday October 5th

Bears (2-2) @ Panthers (2-2) [1pm FOX]
Oh man. Both teams need wins. Duh. I’m going to pick the Panthers against better judgment, mainly to appease my roommate.

Browns (1-2) @ Titans (1-3) [1pm CBS]
The Browns are coming off their bye week and should be refreshed and ready to go. I’m picking Cleveland for the win.

Rams (1-2) @ Eagles (3-1)  [1pm FOX]
I’ll be rooting for the Bumblebees but picking the dirty birds for the win.

Falcons (2-2) @ NY Giants (2-2) [1pm FOX]
The Giants are looking good and I hope they continue to do so this Sunday. I’m picking them for the win over Atlanta.

Buccaneers (1-3) @ Saints (1-3) [1pm FOX]
I’ve got to pick the Saints at home for the win.

Texans (3-1) @ Cowboys (3-1) [1pm CBS]
Touch down for WATT!? I sure hope so. I am picking a Texans upset! It’s wishful thinking mostly.

Bills (2-2) @ Lions (3-1) [1pm FOX]
Going with the Lions for the win. But I could be wrong.

Ravens (3-1) @ Colts (2-2) [1pm CBS]
Picking the Colts for the win.

 Steelers (2-2) @ Jaguars (0-4) [1pm CBS]
As much as I’d like to see the Jags win I’m picking the Steelers, mainly because I’m playing their defense this week in fantasy. (I didn’t learn from last week.)

Cardinals (3-0) @ Broncos (2-1) [4:05pm FOX]
Picking the Broncos for the win. Both teams are fresh off their bye.

Chiefs (2-2) @ 49ers (2-2) [4:25pm CBS]
Hmmmmmmm should be a good game. I’d like the Chiefs to win but I think I’ll pick the 49ers.

Jets (1-3) @ Chargers (3-1) [4:25pm CBS]
Picking the Chargers for the win.

Bengals (3-0) @ Patriots (2-2) [8:30pm NBC]
Ooooooooooooh I so want to pick the Bengals for the win. But whenever I pick against the Pats they win. So I’m picking the Pats for the win in hopes that they lose.

Monday October 6th

Seahawks (2-1) @ Redskins (1-3) [8:30pm ESPN]
Picking the Seahawks for the win!

BYES this week include: Dolphins, Raiders
GO GMEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for the edit Mom!!!!!
