Regular Season Week 17

This is the final week of the regular season. Tear, or Thank the Lord. I guess it depends on how well your team did this season. I am thankful the season is almost over. Yes, I will miss watching my team play, but I won’t miss watching my team lose. Because this is the last weekend of the regular season, there will not be any Thursday night games nor any Monday night games. The regular season will be over late Sunday night.
I am still in NY for one more day. And of course I am once again waiting until the last minute to write my report. You know they say if it weren’t for the last minute I wouldn’t have any time at all…
We had another death in the family so I won’t be able to watch all the games this weekend (I’ll be at calling hours for my Aunt Marge), but my dad had the brilliant idea of DVRing the Giants game so when I get back to my parents tomorrow night we’ll watch it together. Week 16 was pretty epic so before we move into week 17 Let’s recap week 16. I went 11-5 this past week on picks.

Week 16

11-5

Dolphins @ Bills  0-19
What?! The Bills shut out the Dolphins? I’m shocked… really! 16 weeks and I still can’t figure the Bills out.

Vikings @ Bengals 14-42
This game wasn’t as shocking. The Bengals really put a hurting on the Vikings. Ouch.

Broncos @ Texans 37-13
Peyton Manning ties and then breaks the record of passing touchdowns in one season tying Brady at 50 and then setting a new record at 51! Peyton is the Man… ing.

Titans @ Jaguars  20-16
For a minute there I thought that the Jags may upset the Titans… but they didn’t.

Saints @ Panthers 13-17
This was a hell of a game and I’m glad that the Panthers won. The team showed up, the rain showed up, and the twelfth man showed up. My dad and I watched this game together… it was the first time I ever actually wanted to see the Panthers play.

Browns @ Jets 13-24
I wanted the Browns to win. My dad and I also watched this game (we had quite the setup in the living room, watching the games on the TV, Computer, and laptop) my dad was going for the Jets. He says its more fun to pick separate teams… I disagree. Sorry Brownies.

Colts @ Chiefs 23-7
This surprised me. I thought this would be a win for the Chiefs, but obviously I was wrong.

Cowboys @ Redskins 24-23
What. A. Game. My dad and I were both pulling for the Redskins and watching this game together. It was a heartbreaking ending but not surprising. At least Romo is out for the rest of the season… which shouldn’t be that much longer.

Buccaneers @ Rams 13-23
Yay, St. Louis! I knew you could do it.

Giants @ Lions 23-20 OT
Holy Shit, the Giants won, it’s a Christmas miracle. Or, is it another way the Giants screw themselves out of a good first round draft pick? Either way, I’m really glad that I was able to watch the game with my dad.

Cardinals @ Seahawks 17-10
I still can’t believe that the Cardinals beat the Seahawks at home…

Raiders @ Chargers 13-26
This is one of the few games that actually ended the way I thought it would.

Steelers @ Packers 38-31
Stupid Steelers… at least Aaron Rodgers will be back next week.

Patriots @ Ravens 41-7
I’m saying it now… the Ravens are done.

Bears @ Eagles 11-54
I really have nothing to say about this game. Did the Bears even show up? I don’t think so.

Falcons @ 49ers 24-35
It would have been more shocking had the Falcons won…

WEEK 17

Sunday December 28th

Browns (4-11) @ Steelers (7-8) [1pm CBS]
I’m picking the Steelers for the win but rooting for the Browns

Redskins (3-12) @ Giants (6-9) [1pm FOX]
I’m picking and rooting for the Giants for the win.

Ravens (8-7) @ Bengals (10-5) [1pm CBS]
I’m picking the Bengals and rooting for them.

Texans (2-13) @ Titans (6-9) [1pm CBS]
I’m picking the Titans for the win.

Jaguars (4-11) @ Colts (10-5) [1pm CBS]
I’m picking the Colts for the win but think it would be epic if the Jags pulled the upset.

Jets (7-8) @ Dolphins (8-7) [1pm CBS]
I’m picking the Dolphins for the win.

Lions (7-8) @ Vikings (4-10-1)  [1pm FOX]
I’m picking the Vikings for the win.

Panthers (11-4) @ Falcons (4-11) [1pm FOX]
I’m taking the Panthers over the Falcons.

Buccaneers (4-11) @ Saints (10-5) [4:25pm FOX]
I’m picking the Saints for the win.

Bills (6-9) @ Patriots (11-4) [4:25pm CBS]
I’m picking the Patriots for the win although my dad says the Bills will win. I think he’s crazy… but I love him.

Rams (7-8) @ Seahawks (12-3) [4:25pm FOX]
I’m taking the Seahawks.

Packers (7-7-1) @ Bears (8-7) [4:25pm FOX]
I’ll be rooting for the Packers. I also think they can win. I’m taking the Packers… they have their work cut out for them.

49ers (11-4) @ Cardinals (10-5) [4:25pm FOX]
I’d love to see the Cardinals upset the 9ers. I think they can do it. This will be my crazy pick of the week… Cards over the 9ers.

Broncos (12-3) @ Raiders (4-11) [4:25pm CBS]
I’m picking the Broncos, may Peyton have many more touchdowns.

Chiefs (11-4) @ Chargers (8-7) [4:25pm CBS]
I’m taking the Chiefs over the Chargers.

Eagles (9-6) @ Cowboys (8-7) [8:30pm NBC]
Romo is out for the season so I’ll be rooting for the Cowboys even though I’m picking the Eagles to win, although I’d really love for this game to end in a tie so that no one can “win” the NFC East… they are all clearly losers and none of them deserve the honor.

There are NO BYEs this week.

Regular Season Week 16

This week I am writing you all from NY! I am home for the holidays and super stoked to be watching football with my dad today, even though our team will most definitely lose.  In other news, I am actually hoping, for the first time ever, that we’ll get the Panthers game here.
This is the first time this season there hasn’t been Thursday night football so of course I’ve waited until Saturday night to write this report. I feel like I work best under pressure.  Talking about procrastination with a friend today, he said, “ If it weren’t for the last minute I wouldn’t have any time at all” I couldn’t agree more.
I hope you all have a Merry Christmas, or what ever you celebrate!  Really I just want you to be happy. Cherish these football games too because the regular season is almost over!

Before we move into week 16 Let’s recap week 15. I went 9-7 this past week on picks.

Chargers @ Broncos 27-20
I am absolutely shocked, but maybe that’s what the Broncos needed to light a fire under their asses… get their losing out of the way now as opposed to the playoffs.

Redskins @ Falcons 26-27
Well RG3 didn’t even suit up but I think the Redskins did better without him… is that a dig at RG3? Maybe.

49ers @ Buccaneers 33-14
This didn’t surprise me at all, nor do I really care.

Seahawks @ Giants 23-0
So Fox actually aired this game in Charlotte… and I sat there and watched the entire thing. My roommate told me to stop torturing myself and turn it off, but I didn’t listen to her. The Giants got shutout at home for the first time since 1995… these aren’t the types of records that we need to be making or breaking. At least the Seahawks looked good… at the expense of the Giants… I’m done

Eagles @ Vikings 30-48
Holy Vikings Batman!!!!! I’m impressed. Very impressed.

Bills @ Jaguars 27-20
I can’t seem to figure out the Bills this year.  The good news is, neither can anyone else, Bills players included.

Patriots @ Dolphins 20-24
The Patriots lost! Brady threw a pick to end the game, and I picked correctly!

Texans @ Colts 3-25
There is really nothing shocking about this game.

Bears @ Browns 38-31
It was a close game, poor Brownies.

Chiefs @ Raiders 56-31
It’s safe to say that the Chiefs made the Raiders their “female dog”

Jets @ Panthers 20-30
Woooot wooot Panthers!

Packers @ Cowboys 37-36
BEST. GAME. OF. THE. WEEK. Romo has gone from clutch to choke and I love it.

Cardinals @ Titans 37-34 OT
To state the obvious this game went into overtime and the Titans lost due to a Fitzpatrick interception.

Saints @ Rams 16-27
This game was almost as shocking, if not more shocking than the Vikings win. Way to go Bumblebees!!!!!

Bengals @ Steelers 20-30
The Steelers win. Blah, blah, blah.

Ravens @ Lions 18-16
This game ultimately came down to a 61-yard field goal, which put the Ravens over the Lions and a Matt Stafford interception sealed the deal.

WEEK 16

Sunday December 22nd

Dolphins (8-6) @ Bills (5-9) [1pm CBS]
I’m taking the Dolphins

Vikings (4-9-1) @ Bengals (9-5) [1pm FOX]
I’m picking the Bengals

Broncos (11-3) @ Texans (2-12) [1pm CBS]
I’m picking the Broncos… this should be an easy pick.

Titans (5-9) @ Jaguars (4-10) [1pm CBS]
 I’m taking the Titans.

Saints (10-4) @ Panthers (10-4) [1pm FOX]
I’m picking the Panthers. Hope the 12th man shows up loud and strong!

Browns (4-10) @ Jets (6-8) [1pm CBS]
I’m picking the Jets but routing for the Browns.

Colts (9-5) @ Chiefs (11-3)  [1pm CBS]
I’m picking the Chiefs.

Cowboys (7-7) @ Redskins (3-11) [1pm FOX]
I’m picking the Cowboys but routing for the Redskins and hoping for the upset.

Buccaneers (4-10) @ Rams (6-8) [1pm FOX]
I’m taking the Bumblebees

Giants (5-9) @ Lions (7-7) [4:05pm FOX]
I’m picking the Lions… at least I get to watch this game with my dad.

Cardinals (9-5) @ Seahawks (12-2) [4:05pm FOX]
I’m taking the Seahawks.

Raiders (4-10) @ Chargers (7-7) [4:25pm CBS]
I’m picking the Chargers.

Steelers (6-8) @ Packers (7-6-1) [4:25pm CBS]
I want the Packers to win but I’m picking the Steelers… I hope I’m wrong.

Patriots (10-4) @ Ravens (8-6) [4:25pm CBS]
I’m picking the Patriots only because it’s very rare that the Pats lose two in a row.

Bears (8-6) @ Eagles (8-6) [8:30pm NBC]
I’m picking the Bears and routing for them too, obviously.

Monday December 23rd

Falcons (4-10) @ 49ers (10-4) [8:40pm ESPN]
 I’m picking the 49ers.

There are NO BYEs this week.

The Shenoa Report

Regular Season Week 15

The regular season is almost over and my team is already out of any playoff hopes so I suppose now I can kinda sorta be a little bit less bias. We’ll see how that goes. What did we learn in week 14? Football in the snow makes full-grown men become kids again. I saw snowballs, snow angels, and all sorts of hilarity on and off the field. It also reminded me of watching football with my dad as a kid. You see, we didn’t have cable tv, only an antenna, so there wasn’t any station that came in perfectly, they all looked like they were playing in snow (even on the clearest warmest day). My dad made mention of this when we had our weekly football talk this past Sunday evening. Oh reminiscing.  Anyway, so there were a lot of games played in the snow last weekend.
On another note, I’ve got some pretty awesome news… I’ve been asked to write a continuing article for an online magazine talking about football!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I’m super stoked! Of course I’ll still be writing the Shenoa Report because I love you all and I love to write about football.
Before we move into week 15 Let’s recap week 14. I went 10-6 again this past week on picks.

Texans @ Jaguars 20-27
After this game, the Texans head coach was fired, as he should be. Houston is pretty much the laughing stock of the NFL … well except for the Redskins.  PS the Jaguars, who are 4-9, have the longest winning streak in the AFC right now.

Vikings @ Ravens 26-29
The snow put a damper on this game until the 4th quarter in which 42 points were scored!!!!!! Insane. In other news Adrian Peterson left the game with an ankle injury.

Falcons @ Packers 21-22
Matt Flynn saves the day for the Packers. That was a weird sentence to type.

Lions @ Eagles 20-34
This game was great until the 4th quarter… stupid Eagles.

Colts @ Bengals 28-42
Clearly the Ginger has hit his stride… it’s about time if you ask me.

Raiders @ Jets 27-37
I can’t even begin to figure out the Jets…  congrats to not losing 4 in a row?

Browns @ Patriots 26-27
I am a firm believer in one play doesn’t make or break a game but seriously! THAT WAS NOT PASS INTERFERENCE ON THE BROWNS FOR THE GO AHEAD TOUCHDOWN IN THE FINAL MINUTE OF THE GAME. There I said it. Oh, have I mentioned that I HATE the Patriots.  AND the Browns were robbed.

Chiefs @ Redskins 45-10
The Redskins did a REALLY good job of making the Chiefs look unbelievably stellar.  Oh yes this was yet another snow globe game.

Bills @ Buccaneers 6-27
With the Bills QB throwing 4 interceptions and no touchdowns it’s no wonder they lost.  And the cannons went BAH BOOM! BAH BOOM! BAH BOOM!

Dolphins @ Steelers 34-28
Well the ending of this game was epic. Trickery on the last play with one second left and a pass by Big Ben and then 5 laterals and then a run into the end zone for what would have been a game wining touchdown only the guy stepped out of bounds at the 13 yard line.  Miami was ahead of “Yourami”  at the end of this game.

Titans @ Broncos 28-51
Peyton shut up the critics who said he couldn’t play in the cold on Sunday when he threw 4 touchdown passes in 14 degree weather.  Denver’s kicker, Matt Prater, set the NFL record of longest field goal at 64 yards. It was a good day for the Broncos… not so much for the Titans.

Rams @ Cardinals 10-30
Poor bumblebees.

Seahawks @ 49ers 17-19
Disappointed that the Seahawks didn’t win this game, but then again there were a lot of games that didn’t end the way I would have liked this past Sunday.

Giants @ Chargers 14-37
No words… I actually shut off the game for the first time this season. Tired of watching my team lose.

Panthers @ Saints 13-31
Totally saw this one coming. The Panthers needed to get knocked down a peg… I think it’ll make them a better team. They were getting a little too arrogant if you ask me.

Cowboys @ Bears 28-45
DA BEARS, DA BEARS, DA BEARS, DA BEARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WEEK 15
Thursday December 12th

Chargers (6-7) @ Broncos (11-2) [8:25pm NFLN]
I’m taking Peyton Manning and the Broncos!

Sunday December 15th

Redskins (3-10) @ Falcons (3-10) [1pm FOX]
I’m taking the Falcons.

49ers (9-4) @ Buccaneers (4-9) [1pm FOX]
I’d LOVE to see the Bucs win but I’m going to have to pick the 9ers.

Seahawks (11-2) @ Giants (5-8) [1pm FOX]
I still love you Gmen but I’m picking the Seahawks….  PS I need you to get all your losing out this season cause I can’t take this again next season.

Eagles (8-5) @ Vikings (3-9) [1pm FOX]
I’m going to have to pick the Eagles because with AP out I don’t think that the Vikings have a chance at winning for the rest of the season… unless they play the Redskins or the Texans…

Bills (4-9) @ Jaguars (4-9) [1pm CBS]
I’m picking the Jags at home!

Patriots (9-3) @ Dolphins (7-6)  [1pm CBS]
I’m picking the Dolphins against better judgment… with Gronk out I don’t think the Pats can win.

Texans (2-11) @ Colts (8-5) [1pm CBS]
Going with the Colts.

Bears (7-6) @ Browns (4-9) [1pm FOX]
Picking the Bears.

Chiefs (10-3) @ Raiders (4-9) [4:05pm CBS]
I’m taking the Chiefs.

Jets (6-7) @ Panthers (9-4) [4:05pm CBS]
The Panthers will bounce back for the win.

Packers (6-6-1) @ Cowboys (7-6) [4:25pm FOX]
Picking the Cowboys but not happy about it.

Cardinals (8-5) @ Titans (5-8) [4:25pm FOX]
I’m going to pick the Titans.

Saints (10-3) @ Rams (5-8) [4:25pm FOX]
I’m taking the Saints.

Bengals (9-4) @ Steelers (5-8) [8:30pm NBC]
 I’m going with the Bengals.

Monday December 16th

Ravens (7-6) @ Lions (7-6) [8:40pm ESPN]
 I’m taking the Lions.

There are NO BYEs this week.

GO GMEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the edit Mom!!!!!!!
