Regular Season Week 12

Greetings from Florida and Happy Thanksgiving! My partner and I are down in the sunshine state to be with my family for thanksgiving for the first time in 9 years. We’ve been traveling for the past 3 days to get here and I’ve learned that I can not type and ride without getting carsick. Therefore I’ve waited till the 11th hour to write this week’s edition. This report is hard enough to write when everything is going well in football land. It’s even harder to write when my fantasy team loses, if the Giants lose, or if I don’t do well on picks. Well, guess what? This is going to be a really hard one to write. I lost miserably again in fantasy, the Giants lost, and I went 8-6 on my picks. It was the trifecta of awful. I really try to take the time to recap each game and give a little, somewhat biased, opinion on the upcoming matchups. This week may be a little different.

We’ve got three games today on Thanksgiving, my Giants are playing the Cowboys, and I’m playing my mom in fantasy this week. What could go wrong?

Before we get to week 12 let’s recap the ridiculousness of week 11…

Titans @ Packers 27-17

OK, I’ve learned my lesson. I am finished picking the Packers to win a game. They are, indeed, horrible. The Packers defense made Ryan Tannehill look pretty good and Derrick Henry was back to his old awesome self, running for 87 yards, diving over defenders to complete first downs, and also scoring a rushing touchdown. Aaron Rodgers did have two passing touchdowns to his new favorite target, Christian Watson, but it wasn’t enough to win the game.

Bears @ Falcons 24-27

Justin Fields is a beast and played through a separated shoulder in the second half of the game. Fields had two total touchdowns and continues to be dominant in the fantasy world. The Falcons got lucky with this win when Younghoe Koo kicked a 53 yard field goal to end the game.

Browns @ Bills (in Detroit) 23-31

The Bills were able to get it done in Detroit when they took on the Browns. I tell you what, both teams' fans travel well to support their respective teams. The game wasn’t as high scoring as I thought it would be but I was glad to see that Buffalo got the win at “home.” Remember, the Bills couldn’t play in Buffalo because the stadium was under 6 feet of snow.

Eagles @ Colts 17-16

Man, it was looking like the Eagles were going to lose two in a row. But Jalen Hurts used his legs and ran for a touchdown to give Philadelphia the win after the two minute warning in the fourth quarter.

Jets @ Patriots 3-10

This game was tied at 3 with 26 seconds left in the game and Marcus Jones returned a punt for a touchdown to end the game. If you follow Inside the NFL you know that  Brandon Marshall actually got that tattoo of the Pats logo.  Tehehehe.

Rams @ Saints 20-27

The Saints finally got a home win but it wasn’t because of  Alvin Kamara… So frustrating!

Lions @ NY Giants 31-18

I really don’t want to talk about it. Stupid Giants. Stupid stupid stupid. AHHHHHHHH!

Panthers @ Ravens 3-13

Baker Mayfield is so terrible that I think they are going to activate Sam Darnold next week. The Ravens defense had a big play to give the ball back to the offense late in the game to set Lamar up for a 1 yard rushing touchdown to end the game.

Commanders @ Texans 23-10

Taylor Heinicke won the starting job and led the Commanders to another win. Sorry not sorry Carson Wentz.

Raiders @ Broncos 22-16 OT

It took overtime but the Raiders won on the road for the first time this season and it’s all thanks to Davante Adams. He caught a 35 yard bomb from Derek Carr to end the game.

Cowboys @ Vikings 40-3

Oh man. The Vikings had the most embarrassing loss of this week. And that’s saying something coming from a Giants fan. I mean, just look at that score. Minnesota can kiss their 7 game win streak goodbye.

Bengals @ Steelers 37-30

Joe Burrow is back to being cool Joe with 4 touchdown passes in this win over the Steelers. Pittsburgh put up a fight and is looking more like an actual NFL team this week but it wasn’t enough for the W.

Chiefs @ Chargers 30-27

Patrick Mahomes connected with Travis Kelce for all three of his touchdowns. Those guys are good. The Chargers hung in there but when you have Mahomes and Kelce, you’ve just gotta count it as a loss.

49ers @ Cardinals 38-10

The elevation didn’t seem to bother Jimmy Garoppolo or the rest of the 49ers as they routed the Kyler Murray-less Cards in Mexico City. Jimmy G hit Brandon Aiyuk and George Kittle two times each for 4 passing touchdowns. Deebo Samuel had another touchdown on the ground.

WEEK 12

Thursday, November 24th Happy Thanksgiving!

Bills (6-3) @ Lions (3-6) (12:30pm CBS)

The Bills are back at Ford Field for the second time in 5 days, this time the away team. It’s tradition for the Lions to lose on Thanksgiving and I think the tradition is going to continue and their win streak ends. I’m picking the Bills to win this game.

NY Giants (7-2) @ Cowboys (6-3) (4:30pm FOX)

I’m calling it now. The team that wins this matchup is the team that OBJ will sign with. Of course I hope it’s the Giants. But because they lost to the Lions last week and the Cowboys stomped the Vikings I’m picking the Cowboys for the win. I am hoping and praying I’m wrong. Go G-Men, bring back OBJ!

Patriots (5-4) @ Vikings (8-1) (8:20pm NBC)

I think that the Vikings will bounce back and win this game.

Sunday, November 27th

Buccaneers (5-5) @ Browns (3-6) (1pm FOX)

The Bucs are fresh off their bye and should be ready to beat the Browns. But the Browns are playing some decent football as of late. I think I’m going to pick the Bucs to win.

Bengals (5-4) @ Titans (7-3)  (1pm CBS)

I think this is going to be a good game and a close game but I’m picking the Bengals to win.

Texans (1-7-1) @ Dolphins (7-3) (1pm CBS)

I’m picking the Dolphins to win this game. The Texans have benched Davis Mills and I don’t know who the backup is and I’m not going to look it up.

Bears (3-7) @ NY Jets (6-3) (1pm FOX)

Speaking of benchings, the Jets have not only benched but also deactivated Zach Wilson. I think the Bears actually have a chance at winning this game, but only if Justin Fields plays. I think I’m picking the Jets to win though.

Falcons (4-6) @ Commanders (5-5) (1pm FOX)

I’m picking the Commanders to win this game.

Broncos (3-6) @ Panthers (3-7) (1pm FOX)

I’m picking the Broncos to win this game but only because I think that Sam Darnold is starting for the Panthers.

Ravens (6-3) @ Jaguars (3-7) (1pm CBS)

I’m picking the Ravens to win this game even though the Jags are fresh off their bye.

Chargers (5-4) @ Cardinals (4-6) (4:05pm CBS)

If Kyler Murray is still out I’m picking the Chargers to win this game.

Raiders (2-7) @ Seahawks (6-4) (4:05pm CBS)

I’m picking the Seahawks to win this game, the Raiders got lucky last week.

Rams (3-6) @ Chiefs (7-2)  (4:25pm FOX)

I’m picking the Chiefs to win this game, especially with Matt Stafford out.

Saints (3-7) @ 49ers (5-4) (4:25pm FOX)

I’m picking the 49ers to win this game. The bigger question is will Kamara actually get me any fantasy points?

Packers (4-7) @ Eagles (8-1) (8:20pm NBC)

I’m picking the Eagles to win this game. Aaron Rodgers has been playing with a broken thumb and I’m pretty sure he aggravates it every time he throws.

Monday, November 21st

Steelers (3-6) @ Colts (4-5-1) (8:15pm ESPN/ABC)

With Jonathon Taylor back to full strength I’m picking the Colts to win this game but I wouldn’t be sad if they lost.

There are no byes this week. I hope you enjoy time with friends and family this week!

GO G-MEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the edit Eric!
