Thanksgiving Day

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I hope everyone reading this has a safe, happy, healthy Thanksgiving. I am thankful that last week is over. I lost in fantasy, got knocked out of first place, the Giants lost, and my picks weren’t great either, 8-6. But seriously, I’m thankful to be able to gather with family this year, without masks, as we are all fully vaccinated!!! For added fun, my fantasy league will all be together today, except for two.

I am only going to focus on the Thanksgiving Day games in this report and will do the recap and rest of my picks later in the week.

The NFL has had games on Thanksgiving Day since 1920. The Lions have hosted a game on Thanksgiving since 1934 and the Cowboys have hosted a game since 1966 with two exceptions, 1975 & 1977, (why I don’t know, I didn’t take the time to read the whole Wikipedia page). A third game was added in 2006, but there are no fixed teams hosting that game. The Lions all-time record on Thanksgiving Day is 37-42-2. The Cowboys all-time record is 31-21.

WEEK 13

Thursday, November 25th

Bears (3-7) @ Lions (0-9-1) (12:30pm FOX)

I almost always pick the Lions to win on Thanksgiving and I’m almost always wrong. But in the name of tradition, I am picking the Lions to win. Like I said last week, and will continue to say until they win, this is basically their Super Bowl.

The Bears are starting Andy Dalton over Justin Fields, so that’ll be fun to watch. The Lions are hoping that Jared Goff will be back under center but if he can’t go, backup Tim Boyle might have to play, which is very bad news for the winless Lions.

Raiders (5-5) @ Cowboys (7-3) (4:30pm CBS)

Man, I just hope this is a good game. I need Darren Waller to have a stellar game, because fantasy. The Cowboys will be without Amari Cooper for this game because he tested positive for COVID-19. With that said, I’m still picking the Cowboys to win but I wouldn’t be upset if I was wrong.

Bills (6-4) @ Saints (5-5) (8:20pm NBC)

The Bills have not looked good for the last few weeks. I’m kind of afraid to pick them. I really need Emmanual Sanders to be involved in the game, unlike last week. The Bills have a chance with Alvin Kamara out for the Saints for the third straight week. I’m picking the Bills to win.

Have a very Happy Thanksgiving!
