Regular Season Week 11
I said last week that there is usually one week in the football season that everything seems to go sideways. I dubbed that week “Any given Sunday.” The quote goes, “On any given Sunday, any given team can win or lose.” Week ten was even worse than week 9 for my picks… I went 4-9 on my picks this week, OUCH, the Giants lost to the JETS, and I didn’t win in fantasy, thanks New Orleans and Tyler Lockett… The 49ers also got their first loss of the season in week 10 and the Bengals are still the only team that hasn’t won a game.
Things I’m looking forward to in week 11: possibly, hopefully, a fantasy win? The Giants not losing because they are on their bye week! Doing way better on my picks…
Here is the recap for week ten.
Chargers @ Raiders 24-26
This was a really good and evenly matched game. I’m glad I picked the Raiders to win, it was one of the only picks I got right.
Lions @ Bears 13-20
I picked the Lions before I knew that Matt Stafford would be out of the game with a broken back. Had I had that info before I made my pick I would’ve picked the Bears to win. They did indeed win and Mitch Trubisky didn’t look terrible. He had 3 touchdowns in this game and the Bears finally got a win.
Ravens @ Bengals 49-13
Lamar Jackson is a beast. He can run, he can throw, he can spin out of the grasp of defenders. He’s the real deal. The Bengals didn’t have a chance against the Ravens.
Bills @ Browns 16-19
This is why I shouldn’t pick the Bills to win… They of course blew it and the Browns got their first home win of the season.
Chiefs @ Titans 32-35
How’s this for a headline, Ryan Tannehill and the Titans out scored Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs… Any given Sunday…
Falcons @ Saints 26-9
This game left me speechless… Of course I started Drew Brees, Alvin Kamara, and Jared Cook on my fantasy team. I knew I was Saints heavy, but they were playing the Falcons; the 1-7 Atlanta Falcons. They were supposed to have a monster of a day. Any given Sunday… No one on the Saints had a touchdown, and Kamara only had 24 rushing yards… shake my head…
NY Giants @ Jets 27-34
The Giants found a way to lose again… Danny Jones had 4 touchdowns in this loss, and he was sitting on my bench in fantasy. AHHHHHHHH. In other news Sam Darnold isn’t seeing ghosts on the field anymore, because the Giants gave him his confidence back. We’re so nice. (angry face)
Cardinals @ Buccaneers 27-30
The Bucs also got their first home win of the season stunning the Cardinals and the rest of the football world. Any given Sunday.
Dolphins @ Colts 16-12
Technically, the Dolphins, with this win, are having a better month than the Patriots. They have now won two in a row, surprising pretty much everyone. The Patriots lost to the Ravens in week 9 and had their bye week in week 10, but still. Weren’t the Dolphins supposed to be throwing this season for the first pick of the draft? Apparently, Ryan Fitzpatrick still has some magic left. In defense of the Colts, they were without their starting quarterback, Jacoby Brissett, and with Brian Hoyer under center it just wasn’t enough to get the win.
Panthers @ Packers 16-24
This game came down to a goal line stand, in the snow, with Christian McCaffrey (who is a beast of a running back, also the best in the league) against the Packers defense. My opponent had McCaffrey so I was glad he didn’t get that last touchdown, but it wasn’t enough for me to pull off the win. The Saints had already ruined my day.
Rams @ Steelers 12-17
The Rams are in a severe Super Bowl Hangover. They are definitely not the team they were last year. Their losing streak continued after the Steelers defense shut down any impressiveness the Rams had left.
Vikings @ Cowboys 28-24
They said Kirk Cousins isn’t good in prime time. They said he can’t beat teams with a winning record. They said he crumbles under pressure. They were wrong. Maybe they should have said that about Zeke Elliot, he only had 47 yards. It was a good game to watch and I always like seeing the Cowboys lose. AND I got this pick right. Woot!
Seahawks @ 49ers 27-24 OT
The 49ers fell to the Seahawks, recording their first loss in an overtime battle. If it didn’t have fantasy implications I might have actually enjoyed this game. I just needed Tyler Lockett to have a touchdown or two and instead he left the game early due to a leg injury. It was a good game and it kept me up past midnight. Now, no one is perfect in the NFL this season.
WEEK 11
Thursday, November 14th
Steelers (5-4) @ Browns (3-6) [8:20pm FOX/NFLN]
The Browns won their first home game last week. The Steelers are on a 5 game winning streak. I’m going to pick the Steelers to win. In other news, I have to find another defense in fantasy, the Browns aren’t cutting it at all.
Sunday, November 17th
Cowboys (5-4) @ Lions (3-5-1) [1pm FOX]
Without Matt Stafford, the Lions don’t have a chance. I’m picking the Cowboys to win this game.
Jaguars (4-5) @ Colts (5-4) [1pm CBS]
Nick Foles will be back under center for the Jags. Jacoby Brissett will also be back under center for the Colts after missing two weeks. This should be a pretty evenly matched game but I think if the Colts can stay healthy they will come out on top. I’m picking the Colts for the win.
Bills (6-3) @ Dolphins (2-7) [1pm CBS]
I don’t think that Dolphins can win three in a row. I’m picking the Bills to win this game.
Broncos (3-6) @ Vikings (7-3) [1pm CBS]
I’m picking the Vikings to win this game.
Saints (7-2) @ Buccaneers (3-6) [1pm FOX]
Well, because my other two quarterbacks are on a bye this week I have to play Drew Brees. I just hope he has a much better week than he did last week. I’m picking the Saints to win this game.
Jets (2-7) @ Redskins (1-8) [1pm FOX]
Dwayne Haskins is starting for the Redskins. I think they just might get their second win of the season, first win at home. The Jets haven’t won a game on the road yet this season. I’m picking the Redskins for the win.
Texans (6-3) @ Ravens (7-2) [1pm CBS]
I’m picking the Ravens to win this game.
Falcons (2-7) @ Panthers (5-4) [1pm FOX]
This is a divisional rivalry and I am picking the Panthers to win.
Cardinals (3-6-1) @ 49ers (8-1) [4:05pm FOX]
I’m picking the 49ers to win this game.
Bengals (0-9) @ Raiders (5-4) [4:25pm CBS]
I think the Bengals are going to be 0-10 at the end of this game. Raiders for the win.
Patriots (8-1) @ Eagles (5-4) [4:25pm CBS]
It’s a Super Bowl LII repeat. This time I think the Patriots get the win.
Bears (4-5) @ Rams (5-4) [8:20pm NBC]
I’m picking the Rams for the win, I’m not sure why. A blind squirrel gets a nut every once in awhile.
Monday, November 18th
Chiefs (6-4) @ Chargers (4-6) [8:15pm ESPN]
The Chiefs have got to get a win. The Chargers are playing better football but I think the Chiefs still win this game.
BYE: Packers, Giants (thank God), Seahawks, Titans
GO GMEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for the edit Eric!
