Regular Season Week 14

Week 13 failed to meet my expectations. This is the phrase we had to use in Ms. Hickey’s 8th grade science class. We couldn’t say “sucked” we had to say “failed to meet my expectations”. It’s stuck with me all of these years.  I felt that the refs in week 13 blew more games than helped. I might just be bitter over the Giants loss, or at least it didn’t help things.
I went 10-5 on my picks, I won in fantasy, and I am playoff bound. Week 14 kicks off my birthday week, hopefully the Giants will actually win, that would be a great birthday present. But first, let’s recap week 13.

Cowboys @ Vikings 17-15
I tried to finish watching this game, but my eyes wouldn’t stay open. I went to bed when the Vikings were ahead and called it good. I was shocked to hear how close the game actually was and even more shocked to see that the Vikings actually got robbed of the win with a missed facemask call during the 2-point conversion to tie the game. Did I mention I wasn’t very happy with the refs this week?

Chiefs @ Falcons 29-28
The Falcons got greedy and went for a 2 point conversion instead of just kicking the extra point and it cost them the game. The pass was picked off and run back to give the Chiefs 2 points and the win by a point.

Lions @ Saints 28-13
The Lions SHUT DOWN the Saints and it was glorious.

Rams @ Patriots 10-26
Brady breaks QB wins record with this win. What happened to “cheaters never win and winners never cheat”? Just saying.

Broncos @ Jaguars 20-10
It’s a good thing that the Broncos have such a good defense, or it would be tough to beat any one, including the Jags...

Texans @ Packers 13-21
The Packers are back on a winning streak, phew.

Eagles @ Bengals 14-32
I may have gotten my pick wrong on this game but I wasn’t at all disappointed.

Dolphins @ Ravens 6-38
Fun fact: TE Dennis Pitta had 2 touchdowns in this game; he hadn’t scored a touchdown in two years! Pitta is also one of my TE in fantasy football. With his help I beat my opponent soundly like the Ravens did to the Dolphins.

49ers @ Bears 6-26
If you didn’t see this game don’t worry, you didn’t miss anything. Unless you wanted to watch some pathetic attempts at actually playing the game of football, then you missed a hell of a game. Kaepernick completed just 1 pass for 4 yards until he was pulled in the 4th quarter. At half time the 49ers had -14 yards passing… Get the point?

Bills @ Raiders 24-38
Once again the Bills blow a significant lead to then fall apart and lose the game. In true Bills fashion.

NY Giants  @ Steelers 14-24
The Giants played like garbage and the refs didn’t help them out at all. I have to agree with OBJ when he said that even Stevie Wonder could see the missed calls.
It was a tough loss, and an even bigger loss for the team with J.P.P. going down in the 2nd with a groin injury. He will be out for the rest of the season.

Redskins @ Cardinals 23-31
With a Giants loss I was just happy to see a Redskins and an Eagles loss too. PS the Cowboys should have lost as well. Damn refs.

Buccaneers @ Chargers 28-21
I’m going to stop picking the Chargers to win; they seem to always let me down. In other news, the Bucs have become pretty legit.

Panthers @ Seahawks 7-40
Apparently, last year Cam took a 12th man flag, balled it up and threw it away. This was a big deal for Seahawks fans (aka the 12th man).  Seattle didn’t forget this Sunday and were all too happy to see the annihilation of the Panthers. The icing on the cake for Seattle was Cam having to sit out the first series because he didn’t wear a tie (punishment from Carolina’s coach). The backup QB proceeded to throw an interception giving the ball to Seattle to start the game.

Colts @ Jets 41-10
Have I mentioned that Luck is my QB for fantasy?  Yeah, he threw 4 TD passes. It was awesome.
