Regular Season Week 9
We had a great trip to DC so there wasn’t a lot of football
watching last weekend. I was able to catch the Thursday night game, most of the
Sunday morning game, and the Monday night game. Needless to say, I watched more
baseball than football #worldseries. I stayed up to watch game seven of the
series last night and man oh man am I tired, and glad baseball is over. Congrats
to the Cubbies, the curse of the Billy goat has been broken. Now, back to football.
There were three games this past week that went into overtime and one ended in
a tie. This really messed up my picks and I went 8-5. I did win in fantasy and
am currently in 4th place in my league, not bad for a 4-4 record.
Anyway, let’s recap week eight.
Jaguars @ Titans 22-36
This score is deceiving because the game was much more
lopsided. The Titans looked like they
were playing a college team (and not a good one)
Redskins @ Bengals 27-27 OT
This was the only game on Sunday I actually got to watch and
I’m so glad we did. We went out to brunch in DC and were surrounded by a sea of
Redskins fans. (I was kicking myself for not wearing my Giants t-shirt out)
When the game went into overtime emotions were running high all around and then
it seemed like there were a million turnovers. Dustin Hopkins had kicked the
game winning field goal only to find out that the Bengals had called a timeout
in attempt to ice the kicker. It worked, I called a wide left from my seat and
was probably the only one in the building that was happy about it. All the air
seemed to go out of the restaurant, we finished our meal and left.
Cardinals @ Panthers 20-30
It only took 8 weeks but the Panthers finally looked like
the Panthers.
Chiefs @ Colts 30-14
The Chiefs routed the Colts with their second string QB. The
Colts are horrible.
Seahawks @ Saints 20-25
The Seahawks are killing me. I can’t believe they lost to
the Saints!!! SMH
Raiders @ Buccaneers 30-24 OT
Raiders are still rolling.
Lions @ Texans 13-20
Brock had a good day; therefore the Texans had a good day
and beat the Lions.
Patriots @ Bills 41-25
This shouldn’t shock anyone.
Jets @ Browns 31-28
Maybe some of the Browns players were able to go the World
Series so they can know what it’s like to make it to the post season…
Chargers @ Broncos 19-27
The Broncos defense is amazing. The end.
Packers @ Falcons 32-33
Ouch.
Eagles @ Cowboys 23-29 OT
I almost got my tie…
Vikings @ Bears 10-20
Stupid Vikings, messing up my picks.
WEEK 9
Thursday, November 3rd
Falcons (5-3) @ Buccaneers (3-4) [8:25pm NFLN]
Even though the Falcons have the better record they have
lost their last three games. I’m still going to pick them to win, though I
wouldn’t be surprised if they lost to the Bucs. Thursday Night Football seems
to be a waste of time.
Sunday, November 6th
Lions (4-4) @ Vikings (5-2) [1pm FOX]
Vikings OC, Norv Turner, has resigned after losing two
games. I’m still picking the Vikings to win this game.
Eagles (4-3) @ NY Giants (4-3) [1pm FOX]
I hate Eagles/Giants
games; too many painful memories. The Giants are coming off their bye and
theoretically could win this game, I hope they do, but I’m picking the Eagles
and hoping (and praying) I’m wrong.
Jets (3-5) @ Dolphins (3-4)
[1pm CBS]
I’m going with the Dolphins at home.
Jaguars (2-5) @ Chiefs (5-2) [1pm CBS]
I’m picking the Chiefs to win this game.
Cowboys (6-1) @ Browns (0-8) [1pm FOX]
Watch, this will be
the only game the Browns win this season. They’ll do it for Cleveland after the
loss of the World Series. But, I’m picking the Cowboys.
Steelers (4-3) @ Ravens (3-4) [1pm CBS]
I’m picking the Steelers, there’s a good possibility that
Big Ben will be back.
Saints (3-4) @ 49ers (1-6) [4:05pm FOX]
I’m going with the Saints.
Panthers (2-5) @ Rams (3-4) [4:05pm FOX]
I’m picking the Panthers. I think they finally figured out
what to do to win.
Colts (3-5) @ Packers (4-3) [4:25pm CBS]
I’m picking the
Packers.
Titans (4-4) @ Chargers (3-5) [4:25pm CBS]
I’m taking the Titans.
Broncos (6-2) @ Raiders (6-2) [8:30pm NBC]
Both teams are 6-2 going into this game but I think it’ll be
the Broncos that come out on top.
Monday, November 7th
Bill (4-4) @ Seahawks (4-2-1) [8:30pm ESPN]
I’m picking the Bills…
I’m not sure why.
BYE: Patriots, Bengals, Texans, Redskins, Bears, Cardinals
GO GMEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for the edit Eric!!
