The Shenoa Report

Regular Season Week 2
I am always surprised after the first week of the regular
season. I’m not sure why; the Patriots always seem to let me down (by winning)
and I always pick against all the other teams in the NFC East. With that said I
went 9-7 on my picks for week one. My fantasy team lost but the Giants won so
all in all, it was a good week for football.
Let’s recap week one.
Panthers @ Broncos 20-21
I can still hear the Panthers fans back in NC after this
loss. It was heartbreaking, for them. I, on the other hand, was quite
entertained. For Denver, having a rookie QB come in and win his first game
against the other team that made it to the Super Bowl, that’s pretty
impressive. I’m not gonna lie, I was rooting for the Broncos and I’m glad they
won.
Chargers @ Chiefs 27-33 OT
I thought I had made a big mistake picking the Chiefs to win
this game while watching the scores on Sunday. The Chiefs came back big and
forced the game into overtime where Alex Smith dove for a touchdown to seal the
deal. PS it was the largest comeback in Chiefs history. You’re welcome.
Packers @ Jaguars 27-23
Dare I say that the Jags gave the Packers a run for their
money? I think it’s safe to say that the Jags have come to play this season.
The Packers really had to work for this win. It’s good to see Jordy Nelson back
in action, as he is on my fantasy team. Thanks for the touchdown Jordy. Next
week get at least 2 please.
Raiders @ Saints 35-34
OK, this game was shocking. Not so much the high scoring and
the Saints losing, but the Oakland win?!?! Say Whaaaaa. Kudos to Jack Del Rio for calling for a
two-point conversion to win the game. Gutsy Yes.
Bengals @ Jets 23-22
I really thought that the Jets would win their home opener
but then I remembered that Fitzpatrick likes to throw interceptions late in the
fourth quarter to lose games. #sorrynotsorry.
Browns @ Eagles 10-29
Poor Browns can’t catch a break. I really had high hopes for
RG3 and Cleveland. Well not really high hopes but I was rooting for them. It looks like the Browns “building year” should
really be called “building decades”
Bills @ Ravens 7-13
I often thank my dad
for raising me as a Giants fan and not a Bills or a Jets fan. The Bills are
heartbreakers for sure. Is it too soon to say sorry Buffalo, maybe next season?
Vikings @ Titans 25-16
The Titans started off strong scoring on offense and holding
AP on defense. But then they forgot that there was a second half and the
Vikings came back big time and won the game.
Bears @ Texans 14-23
After Osweiler got an interception out of the way on
Houston’s first drive the QB looked good. J.J. Watt came back after missing the
preseason due to a back injury but he still isn’t 100% which was good for the
Bears, otherwise the loss would have been much more ugly.
Buccaneers @ Falcons 31-24
The Bucs are really up and coming now that Jameis Winston is
in his second season in the league. The kid threw 4 touchdowns (and one
interception) and Tampa Bay has a winning record to start the season for the
first time since 2012.
Dolphins @ Seahawks 10-12
Good game, lots of defense. Russell Wilson, with an ankle
injury, led the Seahawks to victory.
NY Giants @ Cowboys 20-19
This game. This game! THIS GAME!!!!! It was a great way to
start the season. It was ugly at times, but good prevailed. I watched this game
with my boyfriend and his father (having only met the father for the first time
a few hours before the game started). I’m not gonna lie, football Shenoa came
out, but only a little bit. I wanted to be on my best behavior. I was so
excited to see Cruz back and hear, in Jerry World, CRUUUUUUUUUUUUZ from the
stands! Giants fans were well represented in Dallas. For the first time, in a
long time, the Giants did not let me down in the final 2 minutes of the game.
Great game, and an even better win. Victory is sweetest at the expense of the
Cowboys.
Lions @ Colts 39-35
After the Giants game had concluded the network switched to
the end of this game. Holy crazy game batman. Dean, you were right, I should
have picked Detroit to win.
This game, well at least the last four minutes was one of
the most entertaining to watch. I started Andrew Luck in fantasy so I just
wanted him to throw a lot of touchdowns, but I was happy to see Detroit win and
upset Indy. (I may still be bitter about the whole Peyton Manning thing)
Patriots @ Cardinals 23-21
This game made me the most crazy. With Gronk out I was
excited to start Martellus Bennett in fantasy and I also had the Cardinals
kicker Chandler Catanzaro. Of course, it would come down to this game for a
fantasy win, and of course Bennett only touched the ball 3 times the whole
game. AND, of course Catanzaro would miss the field goal to win the game.
AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH SMH. It was nice to not see Tom Brady on the sidelines…
Silver linings.
Steelers @ Redskins 38-16
This game was, by far, the ugliest game to watch. I can summarize
this game in two words, SLOPPY FOOTBALL.
Rams @ 49ers 0-28
The Rams should be called the Geese because they definitely
laid a big huge egg. I mean it’s pretty
bad when you make the 49ers look good…
WEEK 2
Thursday September 15th
Jets (0-1) @ Bills (0-1) [8:25pm CBS, NFLN]
I’m picking the Bills
for the win; I haven’t learned my lesson from last week.
Sunday September 18th
49ers (1-0) @ Panthers (0-1) [1pm FOX]
Can the Panthers win their home opener? I think so.
I’m picking the Panthers to get their first win of the season.
Cowboys (0-1) @ Redskins (0-1) [1pm FOX]
I’m picking the Cowboys to win, but I’m hoping the game ends
in a tie.
Bengals (1-0) @ Steelers (1-0) [1pm CBS]
I’ll be rooting for the Bengals but picking the Steelers to
win in this rivalry game.
Saints (0-1) @ NY Giants (1-0) [1pm FOX]
I’m picking the Giants to win their home opener. Let’s go GMEN! Tighten up Defense.
Dolphins (0-1) @ Patriots (1-0) [1pm CBS]
I’m picking the Patriots to win but I’ll be rooting for the
Dolphins.
Chiefs (1-0) @ Texans (1-0) [1pm CBS]
I’m going to go with the Texans against better judgment.
Titans (0-1) @ Lions (1-0) [1pm CBS]
I’m picking the Lions
over the Titans.
Ravens (1-0) @ Browns (0-1) [1pm CBS]
I’m picking the Ravens over the Browns.
Seahawks (1-0) @ Rams (0-1) [4:05pm FOX]
I’m picking the Seahawks over the Rams. Maybe they’ll
actually score some points this week in their new stadium.
Buccaneers (1-0) @ Cardinals (0-1) [4:05pm FOX]
I’m picking the
Cardinals for the win.
Jaguars (0-1) @ Chargers (0-1) [4:25pm CBS]
I’m picking the Chargers for the win, unless they implode
again.
Falcons (0-1) @ Raiders (1-0) [4:25pm CBS]
I’ll take the Raiders over the Falcons.
Colts (0-1) @ Broncos (1-0) [4:25pm CBS]
I’m taking the Broncos over the Colts. I also think I’ll be
benching Luck this week. I’m pretty sure he’s going to get eaten alive.
Packers (1-0) @ Vikings (1-0) [8:30pm NBC]
I’m picking the Packers to spoil the Vikings new home.
Monday, September 19th
Eagles (1-0) @ Bears (0-1) [8:30pm ESPN]
I’m picking the Bears because I just can’t bring myself to
pick the Eagles for a win.
GO GMEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for the edit Eric!!!!!
