The Shenoa Report Regular Season Week 4 '16

The Shenoa Report
September 29, 2016
Regular Season Week 4

On any given day, any given team can win, any given game… That pretty much sums up week 3, and my atrocious picks for the week, I went 8-8. The Giants lost, the Panthers lost, the Steelers lost, and the Bills won… It just doesn’t make sense, but on any given day… At least I won in my fantasy league.  This week the Giants don’t play until Monday night so, at least my weekend won’t be ruined.

Let’s recap week three.

Texans @ Patriots 0-27
This game wasn’t even fun to watch, especially if you are a Texans fan. PS all the “experts” got this pick wrong, it’s one of the only one’s I actually got correct.

Cardinals @ Bills 18-33
I still don’t Bill-ieve in Buffalo, I think this game was a fluke.

Redskins @ NY Giants 29-27
I’d recap this game but there would be too many expletives. Still frustrated over this one, and, I still don’t want to talk about it.

Raiders @ Titans 17-10
Oakland allowed just 393 yards this week on defense, which is saying something.

Browns @ Dolphins 24-30 OT
And Cleveland lets another one slip through their hands…

Ravens @ Jaguars 19-17
I never thought the Ravens would be 3-0 to start the season. Good for them.

Lions @ Packers 27-34
The Packers sure did bounce back but the Lions did give them a challenge. I’d like to thank Jordy Nelson for catching 2 touchdown passes from Aaron Rodgers (he gave me the most points for fantasy football this week).

Broncos @ Bengals 29-17
I know that I have the Denver defense on my fantasy team but I really didn’t expect them to go 3-0.  Surprise, happy dance.

Vikings @ Panthers 22-10
This score still shocks me.  The Vikings had their way with the Panthers, sacking Cam Newton 8 times. Not a good week for Charlotte.

Rams @ Buccaneers 37-32
Jameis Winston passed for over 400 yards but it couldn’t bring the Bucs the win. Maybe it would’ve been different if the weather hadn’t delayed the game for an hour just before the final two minutes.

49ers @ Seahawks 18-34
The Seahawks won the game but they lost QB, Russell Wilson in the 3rd quarter with a leg injury. Hopefully it’s nothing serious.

Jets @ Chiefs 3-24
Whoa! The Chiefs rolled the Jets. NY had 8 turnovers. Ouch.

Chargers @ Colts 22-26
Luck powered through and brought a win to Lucas Oil Stadium.

Steelers @ Eagles 3-34
Thanks for nothing Pittsburgh.

Bears @ Cowboys 17-31
I tried to watch this game but bed was more necessary.

Falcons @ Saints 45-32
This game was terrible. We started watching it but decided the Netflix original Stranger Things was a far better option, and no that isn’t an alternate name for the presidential debate.

WEEK 4

Thursday September 29th

Dolphins (1-2) @ Bengals (1-2) [8:25pm NFLN]
I’m picking the Bengals.

Sunday October 2nd

Colts (1-2) @ Jaguars (0-3) [9:30am CBS]
Set your alarm clocks, and pretend you are on the west coast because you are going to be able to watch this game while eating pancakes. This game will be played in London and I’m going to pick the Jags to win. Why? Because anything can happen across the pond.

Titans (1-2) @ Texans (2-1) [1pm CBS]
J.J. Watt was placed on IR this week so I’m going to pick the Titans to win this game.

Browns (0-3) @ Redskins (1-2)  [1pm CBS]
Man, I hope the Browns actually finish, and win this game. But, I’m going to pick the Redskins.

Seahawks (2-1) @ Jets (1-2) [1pm FOX]
I’m taking the Seahawks over the Jets.

Bills (1-2) @ Patriots (3-0) [1pm CBS]
I’m picking the Patriots to win this game.

Panthers (1-2) @ Falcons (2-1) [1pm FOX]
I’m picking the Panthers to win this game, they are going to be angry coming off last weeks loss.

Raiders (2-1) @ Ravens (3-0) [1pm CBS]
I think this will be a close game and the Raiders may even upset, not likely though, I’m picking the Ravens for the win.

Lions (1-2) @ Bears (0-3) [1pm FOX]
I think the Lions might actually win this won. Dean, I think you should stick with your team.

Broncos (3-0) @ Buccaneers (1-2) [4:05pm CBS]
I’m taking the Broncos over the Bucs.

Rams (2-1) @ Cardinals (1-2) [4:25pm FOX]
I’m going to take the Cardinals at home.

Saints (0-3) @ Chargers (1-2) [4:25pm FOX]
I’m picking the Chargers.

Cowboys (2-1) @ 49ers (1-2) [4:25pm FOX]
I’m actually hoping the 49ers win this one but, I’m picking the Cowboys.

Chiefs (2-1) @ Steelers (2-1) [8:30pm NBC]
I’m picking the Steelers, last week must have been a fluke.

Monday, October 3rd

NY Giants (2-1) @ Vikings (3-0) [8:30pm ESPN]
Man, I always fall asleep during Monday Night Football. Maybe this will be a good thing. I’m picking the Giants for the win against better judgment. GO GMEN! PS, stop making STUPID MISTAKES!!!!!

BYE: Eagles and Packers

GO GMEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for the edit Mom!!!!!

The Shenoa Report Regular Season Week 3 '16

I had this report finished last night but before sending it out I felt the need to speak to what is going on in our country, most recently in Charlotte NC (where I called home for 8 years of my life), but it’s hard to type through tears. It is easy to hate and it is easy to pass judgment. It’s hard to love sometimes, especially when people “deserve it the least”. It’s also hard to speak positivity in the midst of this crooked and perverse nation.  I am deeply saddened by what is going on in America. Hate breeds hate. If we, as a country, are going to change, for the better, we need to start loving one another. Love will cast a broader circle than hate and love is felt deeper. Love your neighbor. Period. #prayforcharlotte

Regular Season Week 3

The Giants won, I won in fantasy, and I went 10-6 on my picks. Week two was a good week! Let’s hope week three is just as good!

Let’s recap week two.

Jets @ Bills 37-31
It was the third quarter and the Bills had just pulled ahead so I thought it would be a good time to go to bed. This game was SLOPPY and the result of this loss cost the Bills Offensive Coordinator, Greg Roman his job. The sad thing is that the Bills have little glimmers of hope, much like the Jets, but this time the Jets finished on top. Too bad, so sad.

49ers @ Panthers 27-46
It’s no surprise that the Panthers won this game, it was a little surprising that it was actually a close game at one point, and I’m not talking about the beginning of the game. How’d you like that run-on sentence.

Cowboys @ Redskins 27-23
This game should’ve ended in a tie, and I’m a little mad that it didn’t. It was a close game and pretty evenly matched. Neither team looked really good, which is good news for the Giants.

Bengals @ Steelers 16-24
Big Ben was picked off twice but still managed to lead his team to victory. Booooooo.

Saints @ NY Giants 13-16
It’s safe to say that Football Shenoa came out in full force watching this intense close game. Have I mentioned that I HATE close Giants games? Any other football game can be close and quite fun to watch, but not the Giants. I want them to always have a commanding lead; otherwise it’s not good for my heart. I thought this game was going to be more like last year's shootout but the Giants defense got much better. (I would hope so, being that they spent quite a bit of money in the off season on the defense) The Giants’ only touchdown was a defensive one on a blocked field goal attempt.  Well done D you get the gold star for the day.  Although Eli didn’t have any touchdowns he also didn’t throw any interceptions. Gold star for #10. Cruz, who dropped a number of passes thrown his way redeemed himself by finally catching a ball inside the 5 to set up a game winning field goal. WOOOT WOOOT THE GMEN ARE 2-0!!!!!!!

Dolphins @ Patriots 24-31
The Patriots are now on their third string QB, as Jimmy Garoppolo was taken out of the game with a shoulder injury late in the 2nd quarter. The Patriots still pulled off the win without Tom, without Gronk, and without Garoppolo… There is a joke in there somewhere, though Dolphin fans probably don’t think so.

Chiefs @ Texans 12-19
J.J. Watt is really back now and that was bad news for Alex Smith and the rest of the Chiefs.  Note score.

Titans @ Lions 16-15
Dean! This is why I don’t pick the Lions to win games! Frustrating. In other news, my cousin Abby is pretty stoked that the Lions lost (she’s a Titans fan). Also, Stafford was my QB in fantasy and that late interception didn’t help me.

Ravens @ Browns 25-20
The Browns were up 20-0 and I was looking at my picks for the week. I turned to Eric and said don’t worry, the Browns will blow it and the Ravens will win… and they did. Sorry Browns fans, at least the Cavs won a Championship. On the other hand, Ravens fans have got to be stoked, starting the season 2-0. That’s almost as many wins as they got all last season.

Seahawks  @ Rams 3-9
Well the Rams won their first home game, which was very shocking to me.  I don’t know what happened to the Seahawks, but I do know they are definitely missing Beast Mode (Marshawn Lynch a former player for those of you who don’t know football talk.)

Buccaneers @ Cardinals 7-40
Holy blowout batman, the Cardinals sure did bounce back after last week’s loss.

Jaguars @ Chargers 14-38
The Chargers dominated the Jags in this not even close matchup. Phillip Rivers had 4 touchdown passes. When he’s hot he’s hot. When he’s not… well you know the rest.

Falcons @ Raiders 35-28
The Raiders gave up 528 yards on defense against the Falcons and a total of 1,035 in the past two games. And you wonder why the Raiders can’t win games…. Ouch.

Colts @ Broncos 20-34
I’m so glad that I have the Broncos defense on my fantasy team, two defensive touchdowns and I benched Andrew Luck!

Packers @ Vikings 14-17
We may have witnessed the worst night of Aaron Rodgers life in the NFL. At least the Vikings got their first win in their new home. Adrian Peterson sustained a knee injury that will keep him out of the game for 3-4 months, this is not good news for the Vikings.

Eagles @ Bears 29-14
Da Bears let me down. Jay Cutler hurt his thumb. And the Eagles won.

WEEK 3

Thursday September 22nd

Texans (2-0) @ Patriots (2-0) [8:25pm CBS, NFLN]
I’m picking the Patriots for the win. Gronk is back.

Sunday September 25th

Cardinals (1-1) @ Bills (0-2) [1pm FOX]
I don’t Bill-ieve in Buffalo, I’m going with the Cardinals for the win.

Redskins (0-2) @ NY Giants (2-0) [1pm FOX]
I’m picking the Giants to go 3-0!

Raiders (1-1) @ Titans (1-1)  [1pm CBS]
Abby, I’m going to pick the Titans for the win.

Browns (0-2) @ Dolphins (0-2) [1pm CBS]
I’m picking the Dolphins for the win, I’d pick the Browns but they’d probably screw it up again.

Ravens (2-0) @ Jaguars (0-2) [1pm CBS]
I’m picking the Ravens for the win.

Lions (1-1) @ Packers (1-1) [1pm FOX]
I’m thinking that the Packers will bounce back. I’m NOT picking the Lions for the win.

Broncos (2-0) @ Bengals (1-1) [1pm CBS]
I’m taking the Broncos over the Bengals.

Vikings (2-0) @ Panthers (1-1) [1pm FOX]
I’m taking the Panthers over the Vikings.
**The Panthers are still planning to play this game at home. I pray that everyone is safe. I’ll update as needed.

Rams (1-1) @ Buccaneers (1-1) [4:05pm FOX]
I’m picking the Bucs over the Rams.

49ers (1-1) @ Seahawks (1-1) [4:05pm FOX]
I’m hoping the Seahawks bounce back. I’m taking Seattle.

Jets (1-1) @ Chiefs (1-1) [4:25pm CBS]
I’m taking the Chiefs at home.

Chargers (1-1) @ Colts (0-2) [4:25pm CBS]
Luck is injured and I’m not sure he’ll play. The Colts defense is a mess. I’m picking the Chargers to win.

Steelers (2-0) @ Eagles (2-0) [4:25pm CBS]
I’m picking the Steelers and hoping they win too.

Bears (0-2) @ Cowboys (1-1) [8:30pm NBC]
I’m picking the Cowboys but hoping for a Chicago win.

Monday, September 26th

Falcons (1-1) @ Saints (0-2) [8:30pm ESPN]
I’m picking the Saints for the win.

GO GMEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for the edit Mom!!!!!

The Shenoa Report Regular Season Week 2 '16

The Shenoa Report
September 15, 2016
Regular Season Week 2

I am always surprised after the first week of the regular season. I’m not sure why; the Patriots always seem to let me down (by winning) and I always pick against all the other teams in the NFC East. With that said I went 9-7 on my picks for week one. My fantasy team lost but the Giants won so all in all, it was a good week for football.

Let’s recap week one.

Panthers @ Broncos 20-21
I can still hear the Panthers fans back in NC after this loss. It was heartbreaking, for them. I, on the other hand, was quite entertained. For Denver, having a rookie QB come in and win his first game against the other team that made it to the Super Bowl, that’s pretty impressive. I’m not gonna lie, I was rooting for the Broncos and I’m glad they won.

Chargers @ Chiefs 27-33 OT
I thought I had made a big mistake picking the Chiefs to win this game while watching the scores on Sunday. The Chiefs came back big and forced the game into overtime where Alex Smith dove for a touchdown to seal the deal. PS it was the largest comeback in Chiefs history. You’re welcome.

Packers @ Jaguars 27-23
Dare I say that the Jags gave the Packers a run for their money? I think it’s safe to say that the Jags have come to play this season. The Packers really had to work for this win. It’s good to see Jordy Nelson back in action, as he is on my fantasy team. Thanks for the touchdown Jordy. Next week get at least 2 please.

Raiders @ Saints 35-34
OK, this game was shocking. Not so much the high scoring and the Saints losing, but the Oakland win?!?! Say Whaaaaa.  Kudos to Jack Del Rio for calling for a two-point conversion to win the game. Gutsy Yes.

Bengals @ Jets 23-22
I really thought that the Jets would win their home opener but then I remembered that Fitzpatrick likes to throw interceptions late in the fourth quarter to lose games. #sorrynotsorry.

Browns @ Eagles 10-29
Poor Browns can’t catch a break. I really had high hopes for RG3 and Cleveland. Well not really high hopes but I was rooting for them.  It looks like the Browns “building year” should really be called “building decades”

Bills @ Ravens 7-13
I often thank my dad for raising me as a Giants fan and not a Bills or a Jets fan. The Bills are heartbreakers for sure. Is it too soon to say sorry Buffalo, maybe next season?

Vikings @ Titans 25-16
The Titans started off strong scoring on offense and holding AP on defense. But then they forgot that there was a second half and the Vikings came back big time and won the game.

Bears @ Texans 14-23
After Osweiler got an interception out of the way on Houston’s first drive the QB looked good. J.J. Watt came back after missing the preseason due to a back injury but he still isn’t 100% which was good for the Bears, otherwise the loss would have been much more ugly.

Buccaneers @ Falcons 31-24
The Bucs are really up and coming now that Jameis Winston is in his second season in the league. The kid threw 4 touchdowns (and one interception) and Tampa Bay has a winning record to start the season for the first time since 2012.

Dolphins @ Seahawks 10-12
Good game, lots of defense. Russell Wilson, with an ankle injury, led the Seahawks to victory.

NY Giants @ Cowboys 20-19
This game. This game! THIS GAME!!!!! It was a great way to start the season. It was ugly at times, but good prevailed. I watched this game with my boyfriend and his father (having only met the father for the first time a few hours before the game started). I’m not gonna lie, football Shenoa came out, but only a little bit. I wanted to be on my best behavior. I was so excited to see Cruz back and hear, in Jerry World, CRUUUUUUUUUUUUZ from the stands! Giants fans were well represented in Dallas. For the first time, in a long time, the Giants did not let me down in the final 2 minutes of the game. Great game, and an even better win. Victory is sweetest at the expense of the Cowboys.

Lions @ Colts 39-35
After the Giants game had concluded the network switched to the end of this game. Holy crazy game batman. Dean, you were right, I should have picked Detroit to win.
This game, well at least the last four minutes was one of the most entertaining to watch. I started Andrew Luck in fantasy so I just wanted him to throw a lot of touchdowns, but I was happy to see Detroit win and upset Indy. (I may still be bitter about the whole Peyton Manning thing)

Patriots @ Cardinals 23-21
This game made me the most crazy. With Gronk out I was excited to start Martellus Bennett in fantasy and I also had the Cardinals kicker Chandler Catanzaro. Of course, it would come down to this game for a fantasy win, and of course Bennett only touched the ball 3 times the whole game. AND, of course Catanzaro would miss the field goal to win the game. AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH SMH. It was nice to not see Tom Brady on the sidelines… Silver linings.

Steelers @ Redskins 38-16
This game was, by far, the ugliest game to watch. I can summarize this game in two words, SLOPPY FOOTBALL.

Rams @ 49ers 0-28
The Rams should be called the Geese because they definitely laid a big huge egg.  I mean it’s pretty bad when you make the 49ers look good…

WEEK 2

Thursday September 15th

Jets (0-1) @ Bills (0-1) [8:25pm CBS, NFLN]
I’m picking the Bills for the win; I haven’t learned my lesson from last week.

Sunday September 18th

49ers (1-0) @ Panthers (0-1) [1pm FOX]
Can the Panthers win their home opener?  I think so.  I’m picking the Panthers to get their first win of the season.

Cowboys (0-1) @ Redskins (0-1) [1pm FOX]
I’m picking the Cowboys to win, but I’m hoping the game ends in a tie.

Bengals (1-0) @ Steelers (1-0)  [1pm CBS]
I’ll be rooting for the Bengals but picking the Steelers to win in this rivalry game.

Saints (0-1) @ NY Giants (1-0) [1pm FOX]
I’m picking the Giants to win their home opener.  Let’s go GMEN! Tighten up Defense.

Dolphins (0-1) @ Patriots (1-0) [1pm CBS]
I’m picking the Patriots to win but I’ll be rooting for the Dolphins.

Chiefs (1-0) @ Texans (1-0) [1pm CBS]
I’m going to go with the Texans against better judgment.

Titans (0-1) @ Lions (1-0) [1pm CBS]
I’m picking the Lions over the Titans.

Ravens (1-0) @ Browns (0-1) [1pm CBS]
I’m picking the Ravens over the Browns.

Seahawks (1-0) @ Rams (0-1) [4:05pm FOX]
I’m picking the Seahawks over the Rams. Maybe they’ll actually score some points this week in their new stadium.

Buccaneers (1-0) @ Cardinals (0-1) [4:05pm FOX]
I’m picking the Cardinals for the win.

Jaguars (0-1) @ Chargers (0-1) [4:25pm CBS]
I’m picking the Chargers for the win, unless they implode again.

Falcons (0-1) @ Raiders (1-0) [4:25pm CBS]
I’ll take the Raiders over the Falcons.

Colts (0-1) @ Broncos (1-0) [4:25pm CBS]
I’m taking the Broncos over the Colts. I also think I’ll be benching Luck this week. I’m pretty sure he’s going to get eaten alive.

Packers (1-0) @ Vikings (1-0) [8:30pm NBC]
I’m picking the Packers to spoil the Vikings new home.

Monday, September 19th

Eagles (1-0) @ Bears (0-1) [8:30pm ESPN]
I’m picking the Bears because I just can’t bring myself to pick the Eagles for a win.

GO GMEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for the edit Eric!!!!!

The Shenoa Report Regular Season Week 1 '16

The Shenoa Report
September 8, 2016
Regular Season Week 1

IT’S HERE! IT’S HERE! THE FOOTBALL SEASON IS HERE!!!!! And you know what that means; the Shenoa Report is back as well!!! Are you ready for some football?!?! If you’re a first time reader, welcome! And if you’re a loyal follower welcome back, I’ve missed you. I started this blog six years ago after a number of people asked me for my opinion on football and what teams they should root for. Please know that I am very biased, and this report is just my opinion!

The last time I wrote the Broncos and the Panthers were headed to the Super Bowl.  I’m happy to say that the Broncos won and Peyton Manning rode off into the sunset. I do, however, have a heavy heart knowing that I’ll never see #18 run onto the field and yell out OMAHA! OMAHA! Peyton has retired and he has no signs of pulling a Brett Favre. Thank, God

Brett Favre was inducted into the Football hall of fame this Summer so we can all breathe a sigh of relief knowing that he really can’t come back and play! Phewwwwww.

Tom Brady is still an active QB but will not play the first four games of the season due to deflate-gate. Yeah, he couldn’t get out of that. #sorrynotsorry

The Rams have moved back to L.A., Cruz is FINALLY back for the Gmen, and the Ryan brother twins are on the same coaching staff for the Bills. This should be a great season.

You may, or may not be wondering where I am residing now-a-days. I never did make it back to North Carolina nor did I move to Germany. I am now calling Lansing, NY home. It’s crazy how life plays out. I know, I know, I said I would never move back to NY… There’s a saying “ Tell God your plans, and listen to him laugh” Long story short, God knows best and I live in NY.

I kinda sorta helped my brother draft a team for fantasy football after I swore I wasn’t playing this year. Well, I got an email the other day saying that my fantasy team had been drafted. So, it looks like I’m playing after all, and not knowing about the draft my team is AMAZING (insert sarcasm here). No worries, I’m going to make the most of it, also I’m going to make my boyfriend help, because well, I’m not above that. PS, he’s not a football fan so… Go Team Awesome!

Football starts Thursday, so lets get back to it!

Lets see who’s playing whom in week one!!!!!

WEEK 1

Thursday September 8th

Panthers @ Broncos (8:30pm NBC)
Now that I officially don’t live in the NC I have no allegiance to the Panthers. With that being said I’m picking the Broncos to win, mainly because they are my defense in fantasy.

Sunday September 11th

Chargers @ Chiefs (1pm CBS)
I’m picking the Chiefs.

Packers @ Jaguars (1pm FOX)
I’m taking the Packers

Raiders @ Saints  (1pm FOX)
I’ll take the Saints at home.

Bengals @ Jets (1pm CBS)
I’m going to take the Bengals.

Browns @ Eagles (1pm CBS)
I’d love to see the Browns beat the Eagles. Bold pick, I’m taking the Browns over the Eagles.

Bills @ Ravens (1pm CBS)
I’m going to pick the Bills to win. Why? I’m not sure.

Vikings @ Titans (1pm FOX)
I’m taking the Vikings over the Titans. Sorry Abby.

Bears @ Texans (1pm FOX)
I’ll take the Texans at home.

Buccaneers @ Falcons (1pm FOX)
I’ll take the Falcons but will laugh if the Bucs beat them.

Dolphins @ Seahawks (4:05pm CBS)
I’m taking the Seahawks.

NY Giants @ Cowboys (4:25pm FOX)
The Giants have this game. I’m picking NY for the win. GO GMEN!!!!! WOOOOOOOO WHOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

Lions @ Colts (4:25pm FOX)
So, being that “the snake” picked my team during the draft I got Matt Stafford and Andrew Luck as my QB’s… I think I’ll have to go with Luck… hopefully he doesn’t suck…

Patriots @ Cardinals (8:30pm NBC)
Cards are going to trounce the Pats. (I hope)

Monday September 12th

Steelers @ Redskins (7:10pm ESPN)
It pains me, but I’m picking the Steelers to win.

Rams @ 49ers (10:20pm ESPN)
I’m picking the L.A. RAMS!!!!! Why? Why not?

Happy Week One!!!!! I hope your team wins! (Unless you’re a Dallas, Philly or, Washington fan) Told you I was biased!

GO GMEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for the edit Mom!!!!!
