SUPER BOWL 50
HAPPY SUPER BOWL SUNDAY!!!!! I’m not gonna lie, I’m a little
sad that another football season has come to an end. I’m also a little sad that
the Giants didn’t make it to the Super Bowl (not that I expected them to be
even close to making it, I just like it best when they are in it and win it). I
am extremely proud of the Carolina Panthers for making it, they had an
incredible season and it’s about time for someone else to step up in the NFC. I
am also elated that the Patriots will not be in the Super Bowl, instead Peyton
gets one more chance at another ring. As you know, I love me some Peyton
Manning. I’ve been asked for the past 2 weeks who I’m pulling for, and it
hasn’t been an easy answer. If the Panthers were playing ANYONE else I would be
completely 100% Panthers. But, I have a soft spot for Peyton, I always have and
it would be amazing if he could go out on top. I’m getting ahead of myself.
Let’s recap Championship Sunday to see how we got here I went 2-0 on my picks.
Patriots @ Broncos 18-20
This game though. I’m not superstitious, just a little
stitious so I was pretty excited to see Belichick not sporting a cut off hoodie
and the Patriots not defer the kick off to start the game. I was also pretty ecstatic
when the Patriots missed the extra point after their first touchdown, I just
knew it was going to come back and bite them in the ass… and it did.
The Broncos defense was AMAZING picking off Brady twice and
hitting him a whole bunch of times. Peyton, on the other hand played very smart
ball and even had a 12 yard rush for a first down. Say what?!?!
This was a good close game and I’m glad that it didn’t have
to go to overtime.
The Broncos are heading to the Super Bowl for the second
time in 3 years and the Pats are heading home.
Cardinals @ Panthers 15-49
This game wasn’t even fun to watch, unless you are a
Panthers fan. I just wanted a good close game. It was like the Cardinals just
self-imploded. The Panthers completely dominated the game, and with every pick
their defense made it made me more and more nervous for Peyton Manning and the
Super Bowl to come. I don’t have a bad thing to say about the Panthers, they
are great and I am so happy that they’ve made it to the Super Bowl. I just wish
they were playing any team but the Broncos.
SUPER BOWL SUNDAY
Sunday February 7th
Panthers VS Broncos [6:30pm CBS]
Coverage for the game started at 9am this morning. Super Bowl 50 will be played at Levi Stadium,
home of the San Francisco 49ers. Kick off is at 6:30pm EST. Coldplay will do
the halftime show.
6 years ago today the Colts lost to the Saints in Super Bowl
44, this was Peyton’s first Super Bowl loss, his second loss came in Super Bowl
48 when the Broncos were annihilated by the Seahawks.
The Panthers have been once before and lost to the Patriots
in Super Bowl 38.
I’ve said it before, but I feel like I need to say it again,
I just want it to be a good close game. At the conclusion of the game I will be
both happy and sad as I like both teams and wish they could both win.
The best offense in the league is going against best
defense. They say defenses win games… so
we’ll see…
Unless he pulls a Brett Favre I really think this is going
to be Peyton’s last game. I’m rooting
for Peyton, first and foremost, and even if the Broncos lose today Peyton has
already won. He’s a stand up guy, and at 39 I think his life is just beginning.
I read an article about him recently and
I urge you to read it too. Here’s the link. Read it. You won’t be disappointed.
Why
Peyton Matters
I’m picking the Panthers for the win because I’ll be more
shocked if they lose, but when the Sherriff is on the field I’ll be rooting for
him.
Thanks for the edit Mom!!!!!
