Regular Season Week 11
On Monday of this past week I brought ``sadness cookies” to work. It doesn’t really matter what kind of cookie it is, they could’ve been peanut butter, chocolate chip, sugar… They are called sadness cookies because during the football season it's a good possibility that if I’m mad at the Giants or my fantasy team, and sometimes both, I’d rather be in the kitchen baking than watching football. This past Sunday I was so MAD at fantasy, and just over the Giants, that I made two different batches of cookies, beef stew, and started some dough for dinner rolls. I don’t think I’ve ever been this frustrated with football. The cookies were a hit at work, a little too crunchy for me, but maybe that’s what sadness tastes like.
As you’ve already gathered, I lost in fantasy and there is no hope for the Giants, I went 9-5 on picks.
I’ve procrastinated as much as I could. Before we move on to week 11 let’s recap week 10.
Panthers @ Bears 13-16
Chicago won this game so they are much closer to the number 1 draft pick. It was a pretty pathetic game and not very fun to watch.
Colts @ Patriots 10-6
The Patriots are now 3-1 in regular-season games played internationally. Mac Jones was benched again late in the 4th and when Bailey Zappy took over he threw an interception that sealed the win for the Colts. Whoops.
Texans @ Bengals 30-27
CJ Stroud orchestrated another game winning drive to add to his wins as a rookie. I got this pick wrong so I’m a little bitter.
Packers @ Steelers 19-23
I remember this game being pretty sloppy. Neither team was really in it or out of it. Does that make sense? It was like neither team really wanted the W.
Titans @ Buccaneers 6-20
Maybe Will Levis is not as good as everyone thought after his first game. I’m thinking that Ryan Tannehill is probably the better option but he’s not great either. Regardless, the Titans didn’t have a chance against the Bucs. Levis had two interceptions to Baker Mayfield’s two touchdowns. It was good to see Baker get the win.
Browns @ Ravens 33-31
I didn’t get this pick correct but I’m glad that the Browns won. Deshaun Watson rallied his team and threw two touchdowns in the 4th quarter to lift the Browns over the Ravens. Unfortunately this will be the last rally for Watson this year. It was confirmed a few days after the game that he would have season ending shoulder surgery.
49ers @ Jaguars 34-3
The 49ers bounced back in a big way. This game was probably the best reason I lost this past week in fantasy. My opponent started Christian McCaffrey and Brock Purdy.
Saints @ Vikings 19-27
The Vikings have proven that they don’t need Justin Jefferson or Kirk Cousins to win games. Their record with Jefferson in was 1-4. The Vikings record since he’s been out is undefeated. That’s insane. In other news, fans thought their season was over when they lost Cousins to season ending injury. Not true, Joshua Dobbs hasn’t lost yet as a Viking.
Falcons @ Cardinals 23-25
Kyler Murray led his team to victory for the first time this season. Now that Murray is back from his ACL rehab and James Conner is back from IR I think the Cardinals will be much more competitive. Like this game, for instance.
Lions @ Chargers 41-38
This game was basically a shootout with the Lions winning with a last second field goal.
Cowboys @ NY Giants 17-49
Fact. The NY Football Giants lost this game. Don’t ask me about it. I don’t want to talk about it.
Commanders @ Seahawks 26-29
This game was also won with a last second field goal that gave the Seahawks a W.
Jets @ Raiders 12-16
The Raiders new interim head coach Antonio Pierce has now won two in a row. Good for him!
Broncos @ Bills 24-22
This was not a good game. This game sucked. What is going on with the Bills? I mean, The Bills had the game won when the Broncos kicker missed a last second field goal as time expired BUT THE STUPID BILLS HAD 12 MEN ON THE FIELD AND A PENALTY WAS CALLED. So kicker Wil Lutz got a second chance…
WEEK 11
Thursday, November 16th
Bengals (5-4) @ Ravens (7-3) (8:15pm PRIME VIDEO)
I made my prediction before the game on Thursday and picked the Ravens to win.
Sunday, November 19th
Steelers (6-3) @ Browns (6-3) (1pm CBS)
This should be a good rivalry game. The Browns seem to be the Steelers kryptonite. Deshaun Watson will not play the rest of the season as he is having surgery on his shoulder. Rookie QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson will take over for Watson. Even though the Browns have to start a rookie QB I’m still picking them to win this game.
Bears (3-7) @ Lions (7-2) (1pm FOX)
This is another rivalry game. Justin Fields should be back under center for the Bears but I don’t think it’ll be enough for the win. I am picking the Lions to win this game.
Chargers (4-5) @ Packers (3-6) (1pm FOX)
I’m picking the Chargers to win this game. Keenan Allen is still listed as Questionable but he’s said that he’ll be out on the field. With that said, I’m picking the Chargers to win this game.
Raiders (5-5) @ Dolphins (6-3) (1pm CBS)
The Dolphins are still undefeated at home. The Raiders have won two in a row. As much as I’d like to see the Raiders beat the Dolphins I just don’t think it’s going to happen. I am picking the Dolphins to win this game.
NY Giants (2-8) @ Commanders (4-6) (1pm FOX)
The Giants have beat the Commanders once this season. Pretty sure that was a fluke. As the Giants offense is ranked 32 overall, 12 in rushing, 32 in passing, and 32 in scoring. Guys, there are only 32 teams in the NFL. I’ll probably be making more sadness cookies during this game. I’m picking the Commanders to win.
Cowboys (6-3) @ Panthers (1-8) (1pm FOX)
I’m picking the Cowboys to win.
Titans (3-6) @ Jaguars (6-3) (1pm CBS)
Both teams lost last week but I think the Jags will bounce back to win this week. I’m picking the Jags for the win.
Cardinals (2-8) @ Texans (5-4) (4:05pm FOX)
I know I said some really nice things about the Cardinals being a better team now that Murray and Conner are back but I am picking the Texans to win this game.
Buccaneers (4-5) @ 49ers (6-3) (4:05pm FOX)
I’m picking the 49ers to win this game.
Jets (4-5) @ Bills (5-5) (4:25pm CBS)
Man. The Bills need to get out of their funk. This is a big game. It’s a divisional game. It’s a game that they should easily win. I’m picking the Bills to win, and I hope that I don’t have to stay in the kitchen and keep baking cookies. Meaning, I hope this is a good game to watch with a Bills victory at the end.
Seahawks (6-3) @ Rams (3-6) (4:25pm CBS)
I’m picking the Seahawks to win only because I refuse to pick the Rams to win again this season.
Vikings (6-4) @ Broncos (4-5) (8:20pm NBC)
I think this is the game that the Vikings lose. The Broncos are playing really well as of late and I think the winning will continue. I’m picking the Broncos to win this game.
Monday, November 20th
Eagles (8-1) @ Chiefs (7-2) (8:15pm ABC/ESPN)
What better way to end week 11 than with a Super Bowl repeat game. This should be a good game. I’m picking the Chiefs to win and I’ll be rooting for them too.
BYE: Falcons, Colts, Patriots, Saints
GO G-MEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for the edit Eric!
