Regular Season Week 13

Guys. It’s December tomorrow. I hope your Thanksgiving was full of family, food, and football. I also hope there weren’t any fights or melt downs. Aren’t the holidays fun?! My thanksgiving was great! I didn’t win in fantasy but I went 11-5 on my picks and the Giants have won two in a row and now are on bye so they can’t lose in Week 13! Hooray! Speaking of lucky week 13, byes are back. The Giants, Bills, Bears, Raiders, Vikings, and Ravens all have byes this coming week. Good luck to those who play fantasy football and are about to make the playoffs, this is pretty much a byemageddon week.

Before we get into week 13 let’s recap week 12.

Packers @ Lions 29-22

The Lions looked awful and made the Packers look good all at the same time. I’m still shocked that the Lions lost. But I guess them losing is a Thanksgiving tradition.

Commanders @ Cowboys 10-45

The best part of this game was the Dolly Parton halftime show. That gem of a human is 77 years old and she’s still got it. I hope I look that good at 47! Otherwise the game was pretty much what you’d expect it to be. Washington commanded nothing but playing awful. Dak Prescott got so bored with the game that he was seen on the sideline eating a turkey leg in the fourth quarter.

49ers @ Seahawks 31-13

Christian McCaffrey had two touchdowns in the first half and the 49ers never looked back. They dominated the game, which was expected, unlike the Detroit game.

Dolphins @ Jets 34-13

The Dolphins usually don’t do well in the north after Thanksgiving. It’s too cold! But they had no problem keeping warm as they ran all over the Jets. The Jets are sorta like the Giants, they have a pretty decent defense but their offense can’t move the ball, so if their defense doesn’t score it’s pretty bleak. I think that it could’ve been 10 below and the Dolphins would still have won this game.

Steelers @ Bengals 16-10

For the first time since 2020 the Steelers had over 400 total yards in a single game, 421 yards to be exact. It’s pretty amazing that making one coaching change can affect a team that much. I’m happy for the Steelers fan base.

Jaguars @ Texans 24-21

CJ Stroud is pretty amazing. Even though the Texans lost, Stroud became the first rookie in NFL history to throw for 300 yards in four consecutive games. The kid is pretty good. This game was pretty back and forth and could possibly have gone into overtime if Brandon McManus had not missed a field goal in the fourth quarter.

Buccaneers @ Colts 20-27

The Colts won the game but it came at a cost. Jonathan Taylor hurt his thumb in the second half of this game and will be out for a few weeks. Taylor had two scores in this win against a Bucs defense that is usually successful at stopping the run.

Saints @ Falcons 15-24

This game was pretty sloppy. Desmond Ridder overcame two interceptions as he led his team to victory, also securing the top of their division. The Saints are really beat up right now. I know this one stung for the Saints as they lost this divisional matchup.

Patriots @ NY Giants 7-10

The Giants have now won two in a row with an unsigned rookie quarterback who still lives with his parents. Fun fact: prior to this game, Bill Belechick had never lost to an unsigned rookie quarterback in his career. Patriots fans haven’t liked the Giants since 2007 and we didn’t do anything to mend that relationship. I’m ok with this. It was an ugly game but a win is a win and I’ll take it.

Panthers @ Titans 10-17

This is the first game this season that Derick Henry had multiple touchdowns. I guess that’s all it takes to win a game when you play the Panthers. Once again neither team looked particularly good. But I got the pick correct so I’m happy about that.

Rams @ Cardinals 37-14

Just because I refuse to pick the Rams again this season I picked the Cards to win. I should’ve picked the Rams. This game surprised me. With all the struggles the Rams have had this season, coupled with all the success the Cards have had as of late, I thought this was an easy pick. I was very wrong. I will learn from this, hopefully.

Browns @ Broncos 12-29

The Broncos have now won five in a row. What an incredible turn around from their 70-20 loss to the Dolphins earlier this season. It was a particularly bad day for the Browns. They were already without starting quarterback Deshawn Watson.  Myles Garrett left the field with a sling on his left shoulder. Rookie quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson was knocked out of the game with a head injury. Amari Cooper and Jordan Elliott were also unable to finish the game because of injuries; Cooper for ribs and Elliott for an ankle. The Broncos took full advantage of this and had an impressive win.

Chiefs @ Raiders 31-17

I am so tired of the Chiefs sucking. Yes, I know they won, but they are not playing good football. I guess it was better than last week because they actually scored in the second half of the game for the first time in weeks. But they were playing from behind to get this win. You think you know a team.

Bills @ Eagles 34-37 OT

This was another heartbreaking loss. As soon as it went into overtime I knew it was over for the Bills. Josh Allen has yet to win a game in OT. More heartbreaking, the Bills were actually up 10 points going into the half. And even more heartbreaking that they had a chance to knock off the team who has the best record in the NFL currently. But the most heartbreaking is the Bills still had 20 seconds left and a chance to at least try a desperation heave or a quick play to set up a field goal try at the end of regulation. Instead, Coach Sean McDermott  elected to have Allen take a knee to send it to overtime. Then, the Bills won the coin toss in OT and went ahead with a field goal on the first possession. You know the rest. The Eagles got the ball, drove down the field, and scored a touchdown to end OT and the game. Man! It makes me mad just recapping this game.

Ravens @ Chargers 20-10

The Ravens forced 4 turnovers to catapult Baltimore to victory. It wasn’t a good game for the Chargers.

Bears @ Vikings 12-10

I think it’s safe to say that no one got this pick correct aside from delusional Bears fans. I’ve got to hand it to Chicago though. Their defense picked off Joshua Dobbs FOUR times. That’s pretty incredible considering the season he’s had so far. The last play of the game was pretty entertaining when the Vikings made a last ditch effort with a lot of running around and backwards passes to try to score. They did not. This was the first time this season that a team won a game without scoring a touchdown!

 WEEK 13

Thursday, November 30th

Seahawks (6-5) @ Cowboys (8-3)  (8:15pm PRIME VIDEO)

I mean, I’m rooting for the Seahawks and picking the Cowboys for the win.

Sunday, December 3rd

Chargers (4-7) @ Patriots (2-9) (1pm CBS)

I’m picking the Chargers to win this game because I feel like the Pats are a much worse team. Also, it looks like Bailey Zappy is going to have the start for New England.

Cardinals (2-10) @ Steelers (7-4) (1pm CBS )

I think that the Steelers will win this game at home. They have turned over a new leaf.

Colts (6-5) @ Titans (4-4) (1pm CBS)

The Colts have a better away record and the Titans have a better home record. Interesting. Both teams are coming off wins. The Colts will be without Jonathan Taylor, but both teams are also pretty banged up. It should be a close game. I’m picking the Titans to win but I’m really not sure why.

Broncos (6-5) @ Texans (6-5)  (1pm CBS)

Looking back at both teams' wins as of late, the Broncos are winning against tougher opponents. I don’t know if their luck is about to run out. I think it is. I’m picking the Texans to win this game.

Lions (8-3) @ Saints (5-6) (1pm FOX)

Hopefully the Lions have learned from their Thanksgiving loss. I’m picking the Lions to bounce back and win this game.

Falcons (5-6) @ Jets (4-7)  (1pm FOX)

Even with Aaron Rodgers cleared to start practicing again, you can put a fork in the Jets. They are done for this season. I’m picking the Falcons to win.

Dolphins (8-3) @ Commanders (4-8) (1pm FOX)

I’m going to have to pick the Dolphins to win this game.

Panthers (1-10) @ Buccaneers (4-7) (4:05pm CBS)

The Panthers fired head coach Frank Reich, assistant head coach/running backs coach Duce Staley, and quarterbacks coach Josh McCown earlier this week. With that said, I’m still picking the Bucs to win this game.

49ers (8-3) @ Eagles (10-1) (4:25pm FOX)

Although the Eagles have the better record and are at home for this game the 49ers are still favored to win. I’m going with the favored team and picking the 49ers to win this game.

Browns (7-4) @ Rams (5-6) (4:25pm FOX)

With Browns QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson still in concussion protocol, Joe Flacco may get the start against the Rams. Cleveland is beat up. I don’t know if they have enough people to field a team. I mean they do, but still. Man. I think I’m breaking my rule and picking the Rams to win this game.

Chiefs (8-3) @ Packers (5-6) (8:20pm NBC)

I’m picking the Chiefs to win this game. And they better!

Monday, December 4th

Bengals (5-6) @ Jaguars (8-3) (8:15pm ABC/ESPN)

I’m picking the Jags to win this game.

GO G-MEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Shenoa Report

November 21, 2023

Regular Season Week 12

Happy Thanksgiving! I’ve got a lot to be thankful for. I hope you do too.

Week 12 will bring football on Thursday, Friday, Sunday, and Monday! Before we talk about the Thanksgiving games I wanted to tell you how great week 11 was for me. Let’s just say there were no “sadness cookies” to make. Week 11 was the first time this season that both the Giants and Bills won handily, I won in fantasy, and I killed it on my picks. I’m not gonna lie, I was really down about football. I was struggling to write the Shenoa Report every week after trifecta losses consistently. I’d lost the joy of football. If you know me, you also know football is life for me.  So, Sunday I really needed a win. And, finally, I got one.

Which brings me to my next topic. Tanking.  As a Giants fan, I know how bad we are. I know we are going to have one of the top picks in the upcoming draft. I know we need a new quarterback and a myriad of other position players. I don’t like the idea of tanking for a better draft pick. It sucks to lose. I know first hand. So, even though the Giants are having a HORRIBLE season I was so happy for a win, improbable as it was. When I went on my socials after the game to continue my happy winning high I read things that didn’t sit well with me. “If you’re happy that the Giants won today then you are actively rooting against the future of the franchise. This team needs a franchise quarterback and things won’t get permanently better until the team gets one.” First of all I absolutely disagree with this mindset. If NFL  history has taught us anything about the draft there might just be too much weight on those first picks. This guy thinks that if we don’t get the first pick in the draft to pick up Caleb Williams we are doomed. I’d like to remind this guy that Tom Brady was drafted in the 6th round, 199th overall and Brock Purdy, Mr. Irrelevant, was the very last pick in the draft. Jalen Hurts was taken in the second round at #53 and Dak Prescot was taken in the 4th round at #135.  I really don’t think the draft # matters too much. We got Danny Jones at #6, that really worked out for us. Sure, Eli Manning and Patrick Mahomes we taken #1 but so were Ryan Leaf, Jamarcus Russell, Johnny Manziel and Zach Wilson. I take sports seriously. I won’t even play a sport that I don’t think I can do well in or win. I’m a terrible skater so you won’t see me playing hockey. I’m 5’ 0” you won’t see me playing basketball either.  I like to compete. I hate to lose. I am not a professional athlete of any kind, I don’t get paid to play a sport. I can’t imagine what it’s like for professional athletes that have my competitive drive. I’m sure they take losing harder than I do. There’s no, “I just hope everyone has fun.” What I’m trying to say is that you play to win the game. Period. If you lose, you fail. Yeah that's harsh. I know. I’m not sorry.  I am so proud of my team for WINNING.  The Giants showed pride, grit, and tenacity. Tanking isn’t the answer. Tanking is a copout. Tanking is weak. I do not support tanking.

As you’ve already gathered, I’m happy for the Giants, I won in fantasy, and I went 10-4 on picks. Week 11 was a good week for me. Now, let’s recap it together.

Bengals @ Ravens 20-34

The Bengals lost the game and their starting quarterback. Joe Burrow left the game after hurting his throwing wrist in the second quarter. It was curious that Burrow wasn’t on the injury report before the game after he was photographed getting off the team plane with a brace on his throwing hand. Burrow is most likely out for the rest of the season.  The Ravens TE Mark Andrews went out really early with an ankle injury and didn’t return. Lamar Jackson also went out for a while with an ankle injury but was able to return and win the game for Baltimore.

Steelers @ Browns 10-13

Rookie QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson didn’t wow anyone in Cleveland but, because the Steelers offense was just as bad, it didn’t really matter. Not so fun fact for Steelers fans, their offense hasn’t had a single game over 400 yards in 58 straight. During this span, other NFL offenses have gone over 400 yards 462 times in the regular season. The Browns defense was just a little bit better than the Steelers so it wasn’t surprising that the Browns won this game on a last second field goal as time expired to take the win.

Bears  @ Lions 26-31

Justin Fields came back and in a big way. I was nervous as I had picked the Lions to win and I didn’t think it would be a close game. In other news Jared Goff had one of his worst days as a Lion. It seemed like he had more passes to the Bears than to the Lions. Goff had 3 interceptions to his 2 touchdowns. He’s pretty lucky that his defense had his back. The Lions shouldn’t have won this game. They got lucky.

Chargers @ Packers 20-23

Stupid Chargers. This game was hella sloppy. Justin Herbert was visibly frustrated with his wide receivers, they kept dropping his passes. Keenan Allen had at least one touchdown pass that he dropped. Oh well, I got the pick wrong but I’d do it all over again.

Raiders @ Dolphins 13-20

The Dolphins are still undefeated at home and that’s because Jalen Ramsey saved the day. Ramsey had two interceptions, both in the endzone, both negating touchdowns for the Raiders, the last one came with just 22 seconds left in the game.  Miami’s defense shut out the Raiders in the second half.

NY Giants @ Commanders 31-19

I don’t even know where to start. When I sit down to recap games I’ve come very accustomed to procrastinating and dreading any Giants recap. I’ve boohoo cried enough this season over my team. I was prepared to bake all the things during this game. Then Tommy Touchdowns showed up. Tommy DeVito, a kid who still lives with his parents, had 3 touchdown passes in this win over Washington. The last time a Giants quarterback had 3 passing touchdowns in a game was Daniel Jones in 2019 against the Redskins. I guess the Giants are Washington’s kryptonite. The Giants looked like a completely different team this game. We scored a touchdown in the first quarter for the first time this season. DeVito had ZERO interceptions and Saquon had 2 receiving touchdowns! Our defense forced SIX turnovers, picking off Sam Howell 3 times. DeVito was sacked 9 times but that didn’t stop him from moving his team down the field.  The Giants never trailed and won for the first time since Oct. 22, when they beat the Commanders 14-7 at the Meadowlands. WOOT WOOOOOOOOOOOT! G-MEN!!!!!

Cowboys @ Panthers 33-10

I mean, I would’ve been much more shocked had the Panthers won. Like the Giants, the Panthers are really bad. Like bad bad. But it’s ok Panthers fans, at least you put up some points against the Cowboys. The Giants couldn’t say that after week 1.

Titans @ Jaguars 14-34

The Jags got the bounce back they wanted. I would’ve liked Trevor Lawrence to target Christian Kirk more but it was Calvin Ridley who got the two touchdown passes. I didn’t start DeHop so of course he scored a touchdown. Oh well. I still won in fantasy and I got this pick right.

Cardinals @ Texans 16-21

CJ Stroud was the only quarterback to not have thrown an interception this season a few weeks ago. He threw 3 this game and it’s amazing that the Texans were able to shake off those turnovers and win. This was Stroud’s mindset when he said, “Steph Curry don’t ever stop shooting, you know, I mean, I don’t have no shame in my game. I've definitely got to be smarter, but no confidence is taken away from me and I’m going to keep letting it fly.” I like this kid and I like that he mentioned Steph. On the other side of the field it was nice to see Kylar Murray and James Conner back in action. The Cardinals have potential they just have to play a few more games together to get things to meld better.

Buccaneers @ 49ers 14-27

Brock Purdy had an almost perfect game. He went 21-25 attempts, 333 passing yards, and threw 3 TD passes. He did, however, have a perfect passer rating. The last time that happened for the 49ers was in 1989 with Joe Montana and Steve Young. Don’t tell me you need a high draft pick to get a good quarterback. The Bucs tried to keep up but the 49ers were just the better team.

Jets @ Bills 6-32

Hooray! Bills win! I guess Josh Allen and the rest of the Bills had had enough of the bad football they were playing. Although Allen did have an interception he also had 3 passing touchdowns on the day. The game started out slowly with Bills kicker Trevor Bass scoring the only points until late in the second quarter. Then things really got going for Buffalo. The Bills defense shut out the Jets in all but the second quarter. It was awesome, if you’re a Bills fan. It was good to see them right their path.

Seahawks @ Rams 16-17

The Rams won the game but there were losses on both sides. Cooper Kupp is considered day to day for LA after suffering an ankle injury.  Kenneth Walker of the Seahawks left the game and didn’t return with an oblique injury. I’m salty because I have Walker on my fantasy team and I picked the Seahawks to win. Booo.

Vikings @ Broncos 20-21

I had picked the Broncos to win this game but I was so tired Sunday night that I couldn’t stay up for its entirety. I went to bed when the Vikings had the lead. I was happy to see Monday morning that the Broncos pulled off the win. I knew they could do it!

Eagles @ Chiefs 21-17

Well the Chiefs came out swinging and looked like they were going to crush the Eagles. The problem with that was they forgot how to score in the second half and ended up losing to the Eagles. It was dumb. Travis Kelce did not have a good game, he was dropping passes or fumbling left and right. It was not fun to watch. Thankfully we had the Manning Cast, though the first guest was very underwhelming. It was Mark Walberg and he seemed disinterested to be on at all. The next guest was Caitlin Clark who plays college basketball for Iowa and she’s a huge Chiefs fan. She was knowledgeable and entertaining and most of all engaging. Lastly was Mike Vick. I had forgotten that he had played for the Eagles. I think the best part of Vick’s time on the show was when he was asked if he played as himself when he was on the cover of Madden and he said he always picked Peyton.

 WEEK 12

Thursday, November 23rd

Packers (4-6) @ Lions (8-2) (12:30pm FOX)

The Detroit Lions have played on Thanksgiving 83 times so far, the most in Thanksgiving history. Their record on this day is 37-44-2. The Packers have played 36 times and their record on this day is 14-20-2. The Packers haven’t played on Thanksgiving since 2015. I’m rooting for and picking the Lions to win this game.

Commanders (4-7) @ Cowboys (7-3) (4:30pm CBS)

The Cowboys have played on Thanksgiving 55 times so far, the second most in Thanksgiving history. Their record on this day is 32-22-1. Washington has played 12 times and their record on this day is 4-8. Washington hasn’t played on Thanksgiving since 2020. I’m rooting for Washington, but would be happy with a tie, but I’m picking the Cowboys for the win.

49ers (7-3) @ Seahawks (6-4) (8:20pm NBC)

9 years ago the Seahawks beat the 49ers 19-3 in their first Thanksgiving matchup. The 49ers have played on Thanksgiving 5 times so far. Their record on this day is 2-2-1. Their last appearance was in 2014. The Seahawks have played 4 times and their record on this day is 2-2. The Seahawks haven’t played on Thanksgiving since 2014. I’ll be rooting for my fantasy players but picking the 49ers to win this Thanksgiving.

Friday, November 24th

Dolphins (7-3) @ Jets (4-6) (3pm PRIME VIDEO)

What? A Friday afternoon game? Black Friday brings weird things to the NFL. I’m picking the Dolphins to win this game.

Sunday, November 26th

Steelers (6-4) @ Bengals (5-5)  (1pm CBS)

The Steelers fired their OC Matt Canada this past week and running backs coach Eddie Faulkner is expected to take over as offensive coordinator. I’m pretty sure all Steeler fans are happy about this. I think that the Steelers are going to win this game and I’m picking them to do so.  I mean I’m going to have to look up who the Bengals starting quarterback is going to be this week with Burrow out. Right. Jake Browning. Jake says he doesn’t lack confidence so we’ll see.

Jaguars (7-3) @ Texans (6-4) (1pm CBS)

I’m predicting that this is going to be a high scoring game. I need touchdowns from wide receivers on both teams so it’s tough for me to pick a winner. I think I’d like to see the Texans win though. I’m going to pick Houston to win this game.

Buccaneers (4-6) @ Colts (5-5)  (1pm CBS)

I feel like both of these teams are sneaky. Like you can’t count either of them out. The Colts have lost 4 of their 5 home games already this season but they were all pretty close. The Bucs are 2-3 on the road but they’ve also played pretty close games as well. Man. I think I’m going to pick the Bucs to win this game.

Saints (5-5) @ Falcons (4-6) (1pm FOX)

The Falcons have lost 3 in a row so they need to win this game and I think they will. I’m picking the Falcons to bounce back and get the win.

Patriots (2-8) @ NY Giants (3-8) (1pm FOX)

I’m picking the Giants to win this game because tanking isn’t the answer. We have a good defense and we have Tommy Touchdowns. The Patriots don’t even know who they are going to start at quarterback. At least we know that DiVito will get the start. Go G-MEN!

Panthers (1-9) @ Titans (3-7) (1pm FOX)

The Panthers haven’t won on the road yet this season and as bad as the Titans are, all their wins have come at home. I’m picking the Titans to win this game.

Rams (4-6) @ Cardinals (2-9) (4:05pm FOX)

Just because I refuse to pick the Rams again this season I’m picking the Cards to win this game. Also, I think I’m going to have to start James Conner and Trey McBride in fantasy so I need them to put up a lot of points for me and the Cards.

Browns (7-3) @ Broncos (5-5) (4:05pm FOX)

I actually don’t think that the Browns are going to win this game. Although the Browns have won their last three the Broncos have won their last 4. I’m picking the Broncos to win this game.

Chiefs (7-3) @ Raiders (5-6) (4:25pm CBS)

I hope Taylor Swift is at this game because Tavis Kelce hasn’t been great without her in attendance. I also hope that the Chiefs wide receivers help their quarterback out by actually catching Mahomes’ passes rather than dropping them. That would be swell. I’m picking the Chiefs to win this game.

Bills (6-5)  @ Eagles (8-1) (4:25pm CBS)

Obviously I’m rooting for the Bills. But because I take pride in my picks I’m going to have to pick the Eagles to win. I HOPE I’M WRONG! GO BILLS!

Ravens (8-3) @ Chargers (4-6) (8:20pm NBC)

I’m picking the Ravens to win this game. I’m playing my mom in fantasy and she has Keenan Allen and Austin Ekeler so I need the Ravens to have a good game and not the Chargers. Sure she is starting Zay Flowers too so that’s a problem. But I’m sticking with my pick.

Monday, November 27th

Bears (3-8) @ Vikings (6-5) (8:15pm ABC/ESPN)

A divisional matchup to end week 12. I’m picking the Vikings to win this game.

GO G-MEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Shenoa Report Week 11 '23 #theshenoareport

The Shenoa Report
November 19, 2023
Regular Season Week 11

On Monday of this past week I brought ``sadness cookies” to work.  It doesn’t really matter what kind of cookie it is, they could’ve been peanut butter, chocolate chip, sugar… They are called sadness cookies because during the football season it's a good possibility that if I’m mad at the Giants or my fantasy team, and sometimes both, I’d rather be in the kitchen baking than watching football. This past Sunday I was so MAD at fantasy, and just over the Giants, that I made two different batches of cookies, beef stew, and started some dough for dinner rolls.  I don’t think I’ve ever been this frustrated with football. The cookies were a hit at work, a little too crunchy for me, but maybe that’s what sadness tastes like.

As you’ve already gathered, I lost in fantasy and there is no hope for the Giants, I went 9-5 on picks.

I’ve procrastinated as much as I could. Before we move on to week 11 let’s recap week 10.

Panthers @ Bears 13-16

Chicago won this game so they are much closer to the number 1 draft pick. It was a pretty pathetic game and not very fun to watch.

Colts @ Patriots 10-6

The Patriots are now 3-1 in regular-season games played internationally. Mac Jones was benched again late in the 4th and when Bailey Zappy took over he threw an interception that sealed the win for the Colts. Whoops.

Texans @ Bengals 30-27

CJ Stroud orchestrated another game winning drive to add to his wins as a rookie. I got this pick wrong so I’m a little bitter.

Packers @ Steelers 19-23

I remember this game being pretty sloppy. Neither team was really in it or out of it. Does that make sense? It was like neither team really wanted the W.

Titans @ Buccaneers 6-20

Maybe Will Levis is not as good as everyone thought after his first game. I’m thinking that Ryan Tannehill is probably the better option but he’s not great either. Regardless, the Titans didn’t have a chance against the Bucs. Levis had two interceptions to Baker Mayfield’s two touchdowns. It was good to see Baker get the win.

Browns @ Ravens 33-31

I didn’t get this pick correct but I’m glad that the Browns won. Deshaun Watson rallied his team and threw two touchdowns in the 4th quarter to lift the Browns over the Ravens. Unfortunately this will be the last rally for Watson this year.  It was confirmed  a few days after the game that he would have season ending shoulder surgery.

49ers @ Jaguars 34-3

The 49ers bounced back in a big way. This game was probably the best reason I lost this past week in fantasy. My opponent started Christian McCaffrey and Brock Purdy.

Saints @ Vikings 19-27

The Vikings have proven that they don’t need Justin Jefferson or Kirk Cousins to win games. Their record with Jefferson in was 1-4. The Vikings record since he’s been out is undefeated. That’s insane. In other news, fans thought their season was over when they lost Cousins to season ending injury. Not true, Joshua Dobbs hasn’t lost yet as a Viking.

Falcons @ Cardinals 23-25

Kyler Murray led his team to victory for the first time this season. Now that Murray is back from his ACL rehab and James Conner is back from IR I think the Cardinals will be much more competitive. Like this game, for instance.

Lions @ Chargers 41-38

This game was basically a shootout with the Lions winning with a last second field goal.

Cowboys  @ NY Giants 17-49

Fact. The NY Football Giants lost this game. Don’t ask me about it. I don’t want to talk about it.

Commanders @ Seahawks 26-29

This game was also won with a last second field goal that gave the Seahawks a W.

Jets @ Raiders 12-16

The Raiders new interim head coach Antonio Pierce  has now won two in a row. Good for him!

Broncos @ Bills 24-22

This was not a good game. This game sucked. What is going on with the Bills? I mean, The Bills had the game won when the Broncos kicker missed a last second field goal as time expired BUT THE STUPID BILLS HAD 12 MEN ON THE FIELD AND A PENALTY WAS CALLED. So kicker Wil Lutz got a second chance…

 WEEK 11

Thursday, November 16th

Bengals (5-4) @ Ravens (7-3) (8:15pm PRIME VIDEO)

I made my prediction before the game on Thursday and picked the Ravens to win.

Sunday, November 19th

Steelers (6-3) @ Browns (6-3) (1pm CBS)

This should be a good rivalry game. The Browns seem to be the Steelers kryptonite. Deshaun Watson will not play the rest of the season as he is having surgery on his shoulder. Rookie QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson will take over for Watson. Even though the Browns have to start a rookie QB I’m still picking them to win this game.

Bears (3-7) @ Lions (7-2) (1pm FOX)

This is another rivalry game. Justin Fields should be back under center for the Bears but I don’t think it’ll be enough for the win. I am picking the Lions to win this game.

Chargers (4-5) @ Packers (3-6) (1pm FOX)

I’m picking the Chargers to win this game. Keenan Allen is still listed as Questionable but he’s said that he’ll be out on the field. With that said, I’m picking the Chargers to win this game.

Raiders (5-5) @ Dolphins (6-3)  (1pm CBS)

The Dolphins are still undefeated at home. The Raiders have won two in a row. As much as I’d like to see the Raiders beat the Dolphins I just don’t think it’s going to happen. I am picking the Dolphins to win this game.

NY Giants (2-8) @ Commanders (4-6) (1pm FOX)

The Giants have beat the Commanders once this season. Pretty sure that was a fluke. As the Giants offense is ranked 32 overall, 12 in rushing, 32 in passing, and 32 in scoring. Guys, there are only 32 teams in the NFL. I’ll probably be making more sadness cookies during this game. I’m picking the Commanders to win.

Cowboys (6-3) @ Panthers (1-8)  (1pm FOX)

I’m picking the Cowboys to win.

Titans (3-6) @ Jaguars (6-3) (1pm CBS)

Both teams lost last week but I think the Jags will bounce back to win this week. I’m picking the Jags for the win.

Cardinals (2-8) @ Texans (5-4) (4:05pm FOX)

I know I said some really nice things about the Cardinals being a better team now that Murray and Conner are back but I am picking the Texans to win this game.

Buccaneers (4-5) @ 49ers (6-3) (4:05pm FOX)

I’m picking the 49ers to win this game.

Jets (4-5) @ Bills (5-5) (4:25pm CBS)

Man. The Bills need to get out of their funk. This is a big game. It’s a divisional game. It’s a game that they should easily win. I’m picking the Bills to win, and I hope that I don’t have to stay in the kitchen and keep baking cookies. Meaning, I hope this is a good game to watch with a Bills victory at the end.

Seahawks (6-3)  @ Rams (3-6) (4:25pm CBS)

I’m picking the Seahawks to win only because I refuse to pick the Rams to win again this season.

Vikings (6-4) @ Broncos (4-5) (8:20pm NBC)

I think this is the game that the Vikings lose. The Broncos are playing really well as of late and I think the winning will continue. I’m picking the Broncos to win this game.

Monday, November 20th

Eagles (8-1) @ Chiefs (7-2) (8:15pm ABC/ESPN)

What better way to end week 11 than with a Super Bowl repeat game. This should be a good game. I’m picking the Chiefs to win and I’ll be rooting for them too.

BYE: Falcons, Colts, Patriots, Saints

The Shenoa Report

November 9, 2023

Regular Season Week 10

We are officially a little bit more than half way through the season. I had such high expectations at the start for my fantasy team and the Giants. Now I’d just be happy if either of us won a flippin game. It’s getting old. I’ve lost 4 weeks in a row and only have 3 wins on the season. So I’m still better than the Giants but that doesn’t say anything at all. Silver lining for the week, I went 10-4 on picks.

Before we get to week 10 let’s recap week 9.

Titans  @ Steelers 16-20

This game was pretty sloppy from what I remember of it. I mean, no one looked particularly good. Will Levis got his first loss as a starting quarterback in the NFL and Kenny Pickett squeaked out a win. In other news, my fantasy players didn’t do anything that even warrants being mentioned, which is also par for the course this season.

Dolphins @ Chiefs 14-21

Last season when the NFL had a Germany game the whole stadium started to sing “Take Me Home, Country Roads” by John Denver. Now it’s a tradition. Why they picked this song is beyond me, but it's a thing now.  The Chiefs bounced back after a humiliating loss and the Dolphins don't seem to be as dominant as once thought. The Dolphins have yet to beat a team with a winning record this season. Things that make you go hmmmmm.

Seahawks @ Ravens 3-37

What in the world is wrong with the Seahawks? Maybe Geno Smith is not the answer. Seattle was embarrassed. Again, my fantasy players don’t warrant a shout out while my opponent had 4 Ravens starting against me. No wonder I lost.

Cardinals @ Browns  0-27

Yikes. Not a good time to be a Cardinals fan. Deshaun Watson was back for the Browns and had a very good day. No interceptions and two touchdowns.  Rookie QB Clayton Tune did not have a good day. He was intercepted twice, sacked 7 times, and didn’t have a touchdown on the day.

Buccaneers @ Texans 37-39

This C.J. Stroud kid is pretty good. He set the rookie passing record with 470 passing yards and tied the record with FIVE touchdowns. That’s incredible. The only highlight in my abysmal fantasy week was Tank Dell, who caught 2 of the 5 passing touchdowns. Maybe had Dell caught all 5 I would’ve won in fantasy.

Bears @ Saints 17-24

Taysom Hill is a sneaky player. His position is officially TE but he pretty much does what he wants. He caught a passing touchdown from Derick Carr but also threw a touchdown pass to Juwan Johnson in the 4th quarter that ended up giving the Saints the win.

Vikings @ Falcons 31-28

Jaren Hall did start for the Vikings at quarterback but he didn’t last long. He was taken out of the game in the first quarter with a concussion. Hall had taken all of the first-team practice snaps after Kirk Cousins was ruled out for the rest of the season.  Joshua Dobbs had only been in Minnesota for 5 days and didn’t even know his teammates names but he was able to rally his nameless players to victory.

Rams @ Packers 3-20

Ugh! Of course I got this pick wrong.  I just said last week that I am not picking the Rams to win anymore and I’m not picking the Packers to win any more and now they are playing each other?! Welp. Now I don’t have to pick either team to win for the rest of the season! Hah!

Commanders @ Patriots 20-17

I guess that the Commanders defense is still pretty good even after trading away two of their best defenders. They picked off Mac Jones in the fourth quarter to squash any hopes of a win at home.

Colts @ Panthers 27-13

The Panthers just aren’t good. The Colts are much better but when you play the Panthers you look better than you are.

NY Giants @ Raiders 6-30

Yup. I knew it. I’m not shocked or surprised that this was the outcome of the game. I boohoo cried more out of frustration than sadness when Danny went out of the game. Torn ACL, cool. Congratulations to Antonio Pierce. Once a Giant, always a Giant. Instead of talking anymore about this pathetic game I want to share with you a part of an article I found on NBC ProFootballTalk that talks about how Pierce got the interim head coach position at Las Vegas. “Linebackers coach Antonio Pierce spoke at the meeting on behalf of McDaniels and the coaching staff. Pierce said the team needs its own culture. He cited the 2007 Giants, who believed they could win every game they played. He said the Raiders need that mindset. Of course, that season ended with the Giants beating McDaniels’s Patriots in Super Bowl XLII, stopping New England from becoming the first team to ever go 19-0.

Pierce’s comments went over well with the players. They did not go over well with his now-former boss.

Josh McDaniels then goes over to him and says, ‘Don’t ever talk about the Patriots like that,’  Then you really saw how divided the building got. That got up to Mark Davis, and Davis looked at it and [went], ‘OK, I’m gonna choose the guy who believes we can win every single week.’”

So that’s the rest of the story. Now, Pierce can try to write a new story, with McDaniels gone for good.

Cowboys @ Eagles 23-28

I’d hoped this game would end in a tie. It was close. I was pulling for the Cowboys. Oh well.

Bills @ Bengals 18-24

The Bills did not look good. After a humiliating Giants loss I really needed my AFC team to step up. They did not. It was tough to watch. It’s safe to say that the Bengals have worked out all of the kinks from the first part of the season. Now it’s time for the Bills to work out all of their kinks.

Chargers @ Jets 27-6

Even the Manningcast struggled during this game. Arnold Schwarzenegger was feeding a donkey at one point. Peyton was doing some disco moves as examples of huddle signals. We were also able to see what Trevor Lawrence would look like with a Peyton Manning haircut, and Keyshawn Johnson was a guest.  Seriously, this recap is much better than the actual game.

 WEEK 10

Thursday, November 9th

Panthers (1-7) @ Bears (2-7) (8:15pm PRIME VIDEO)

The Panthers are in a tough position. Last year the Bears had the number 1 pick in the draft but they traded their pick to the Panthers for WR DJ Moore. The Panthers are still bad this year (shocking). They really need to win this game and keep winning, otherwise the Bears would get an even better draft pick this year. The Bears are facing a win-win scenario. If Chicago wins tonight they will be that much closer to the number 1 draft pick. Does that make sense? Regardless, I’m picking the Bears to win but I’ll be rooting for the Panthers.

Sunday, November 12th

Colts (4-5) @ Patriots (2-7) (9:30am NFL NET)

The Patriots are 3-0 in regular-season games played internationally. This will be the last overseas game this season. I’m picking the Patriots to win this game.

Texans (4-4) @ Bengals (5-3) (1pm CBS)

I hope this game is a shootout but I am picking the Bengals to win it.

Packers (3-5) @ Steelers  (5-3) (1pm CBS)

I’m picking the Steelers to win this game.

Titans (3-5) @ Buccaneers (3-5)  (1pm CBS)

I’m pretty sure that the Bucs are going to win this game and that’s who I’m picking too.

Browns (5-3) @ Ravens (7-2) (1pm FOX)

I would really like to see the Browns beat up the Ravens. I don’t know if the Browns will win but I’d like them to, that’s for sure. With all that said I am picking the Ravens to win this game.

49ers (5-3) @ Jaguars (6-2)  (1pm FOX)

The 49ers defense is that much stronger after the trade deadline last week. They are also fresh off their bye. I am picking the 49ers to win this game.

Saints (5-4) @ Vikings (5-4) (1pm FOX)

The Vikings have won 4 games in a row. It’s the longest streak in the NFC. These two teams do not like each other. They are always knocking each other out of the playoffs. I like the Josh Dobbs story for the Vikings so I think I am going to pick them to win this week. I wonder how many team members Dobbs can name this week.

Falcons (4-5) @ Cardinals (1-8) (4:05pm CBS)

Kyler Murray is expected to start for the Cards for the first time this season. James Conner is also supposed to be back on the field for Arizona. Will this be enough to give the Cards a win? Probably not. I’m picking the Falcons to win this game.

Lions (6-2) @ Chargers (4-4) (4:05pm CBS)

The Lions are also fresh off their bye week and I think they will be ready to play the Chargers. I’m picking the Lions to win this game.

Cowboys (5-3) @ NY Giants (2-7) (4:25pm FOX)

Fact. The NY Football Giants will lose this game.

Commanders (4-5)  @ Seahawks (5-3) (4:25pm FOX)

Patrick Mahomes is on bye this week so I have to start Sam Howell. This pretty much ensures a good game for the Seahawks and a bad game for the Commanders. But, I’m also starting DK Metcalf and Kenneth Walker on the Seahawks which ensures a good game for the Commanders defense. So, who will win this game? With so much fantasy implication on my end, it’ll probably end in a tie. But, for picks sake, I’m picking the Seahawks to win.

Jets (4-4) @ Raiders (4-5) (8:20pm NBC)

I’m picking the Raiders to win. I like their new interim head coach.

Monday, November 13th

Broncos (3-5) @ Bills (5-4) (8:15pm ABC/ESPN)

This should be a good game for the Bills to bounce back. I’m picking the Bills to win this game.

The Shenoa Report

November 2, 2023

Regular Season Week 9

The trade deadline came and went this week and there were some big moves. The Commanders traded DEs Chase Young to the 49ers and Montez Sweat to the Bears. This is good news for the NFC East. Both Young and Sweat were very dominant and now they are both in another division. The Vikings acquired QB Josh Dobbs from the Cards mostly because Kirk Cousins is out for the rest of the season. The Bills acquired CB Rasul Douglas from the Packers and more importantly Buffalo signed Uncle Lenny (Lenoard Fournette) to their practice squad. The Lions traded a pick to the Browns for WR Donovan Peoples-Jones. The Giants traded DE Leonard Willams to the Seahawks for a 2nd and 5th round draft pick.

In other football news, the Raiders fired head coach Josh McDaniels, OC Mick Lombardi, and GM Dave Ziegler after the Monday night loss. Former NY Giants linebacker Antonio Pierce will be their interim head coach.

Last week sucked for my fantasy team and my Giants, but my picks were better. I went  10-6 on picks.

Before we get to week 9 let’s recap week 8.

Buccaneers  @ Bills 18-24

Finally. The Bills looked like the Bills we know and love. They got the win and they looked dominant doing it.

Patriots @ Dolphins 17-31

Tua Tagovailoa has never lost to the Patriots. It’s still weird to me that the Dolphins are actually good. It’s also weird that the Patriots aren’t.

Jaguars @ Steelers 20-10

The Jags defense dominated so much that they took out Kenny Pickets in the first half and Mitch Trubisky had to play the second half for the Steelers. This was actually good news for George Pickens fans like me because Trubisky really likes to throw to him. Pickens scored the only touchdown for the Steelers. On the Jags side of the ball it was kicker Brandon McManus that scored the most points during this win. McManus had 4 successful field goals.

NY Jets @ NY Giants  13-10 OT

I give up. Bad coaching, bad play calling, bad time management…It’s a real bummer. The Giants defense is pretty decent. It was the defense that kept us in the game.  The Giants should have won this game even after Tyrod Taylor went out with a rib injury. Our only touchdown came from our third string quarterback Tommy DiVito in the third quarter. I’m pretty sure Dabol told DiVito that he wasn’t allowed to throw the football so it was easy for the Jets to stop the run. Graham Gano missed two field goals, either of which would have also brought the Giants to victory. It came out after the game that Gano’s kicking knee was injured before the game, this would’ve been useful information. But the worst part of the game, if you can pick just one part, was at the very end of the fourth quarter. The Jets didn’t have a time out and time had expired but they were still allowed to kick a field goal to send it into overtime. I don’t want to talk about the rest.

Falcons @ Titans 23-28

Rookie Will Levis threw a touchdown in every quarter, three of them going to DeHop, who was on my bench. I got the pick wrong, and because I didn’t start Hopkins I also lost in fantasy. Other than DeAndre’s hat trick the coolest part of the game was the Titans logo which was actually the Houston Oilers throwback logo.

Texans @ Panthers 13-15

I was so sure I picked the Panthers to win this game. I guess I didn’t, but I am glad they won.

Rams @ Cowboys 20-43

I’ve been picking the Rams to win and have been burned so many times this season. So I didn’t and I was finally right! The Cowboys dominated this game. It wasn’t fun to watch.

Vikings @ Packers 24-10

The Vikings won this game but it came at a very high cost. Kirk Cousins suffered a season ending injury as he tore his achilles. The Vikings have suffered some major losses this year. I don’t know how competitive they’ll be moving forward.

Saints @ Colts 38-27

Derek Carr finally had a good game. He had 310 passing yards, two touchdowns, and most importantly, no interceptions. It only took 8 weeks but he finally found his groove. It also helps that Alvin Kamara is dominant again. Kamara had a receiving touchdown and a rushing touchdown. On the Colts side of the ball it was Zach Moss not Jonathan Taylor that got a rushing touchdown. Gardner Minshew also had two touchdowns but also had an interception.

Eagles @ Commanders 38-31

Oh man, the Commanders almost knocked off the Eagles. That would’ve been amazing. Both quarterbacks had 4 touchdowns. That’s right Sam Howell had 4 touchdowns and 397 passing yards! Jalen Hurts played on an injured knee but finished the game. He was even able to connect with newly acquired Julio Jones for one of his touchdown passes.

Browns @ Seahawks 20-24

Even though the Seahawks got the win, Kenneth Walker and DK Metcalf did not perform enough to get me a fantasy win. It seemed to be the Tyler Lockett show instead. I’m not in love with football right now.

Ravens @ Cardinals 31-24

The Ravens won the game but the Cards didn’t look terrible. Well, I mean their offense didn’t look terrible. Their defense allowed three Gus Edwards touchdowns. Joshua Dobbs had two passing touchdowns and one rushing touchdown but was picked off twice in this loss. It’ll be Dobbs' last loss with the Cards though. More on that later.

Chiefs @ Broncos 9-24

This stupid game. Patrick Mahomes had the flu and his worst game of his career. Taylor Swift wasn’t in the stadium so Travis Kelce didn’t have a good game either. The saying goes “any given sunday” I don’t think anyone got this pick right. Ugh.

Bengals @ 49ers 31-17

Any given Sunday… Joe Burrow had three touchdowns, Brock Purdy only had one but had two interceptions. The San Francisco defense did not perform well at all. Yeah, I got this pick wrong too.

Bears @ Chargers 13-30

Tyson Bagent’s shine wore off after just one game. He had zero touchdowns and two interceptions. Justin Herbert, on the other hand, had a fantastic game with three touchdowns and 298 passing yards. I was just glad to get this pick right.

Raiders @ Lions 14-26

The Raiders defense couldn’t stop the run so that’s what the Lions did all night. They ran all over the Raiders. Detroit didn’t need touchdowns everytime because they got it done with field goals. Riley Patterson had 4 field goals in this win over the Raiders.

 WEEK 9

Thursday, November 2nd

Titans (3-4) @ Steelers (4-3) (8:15pm PRIME VIDEO)

I really don’t care who wins this game. I just need more points from my wide receivers in fantasy. I made the mistake of not starting DeAndre Hopkins last week. Of course he carries a designation this week. Cool. Will Levis will be starting at quarterback for the Titans which should help DeHop if he plays. I mean he was Levis’ favorite target last week. Kenny Pickett swears that he’s going to play for the Steelers even though he left the game last week with a rib injury. I don’t care who starts for the Steelers as long as George Pickens catches a few touchdowns. The Titans haven’t won a game on the road yet this season so I’m picking the Steelers to win this one.

Sunday, November 5th

Dolphins (6-2) @ Chiefs (6-2) (9:30am NFL NET)

The NFL is going back to Germany. This game will be played at Frankfurt Stadium. I hope Patrick Mahomes has recovered from the flu… I also hope that the Chiefs win this game. My opponent in fantasy this week has Travis Kelce so I kinda hope that Taylor Swift is not in attendance. I’m picking the Chiefs to win, they need a bounce back game.

Seahawks (5-2) @ Ravens (6-2) (1pm CBS)

I think that the Ravens will win this game. I'm just hoping that Metcalf and Walker have a better game for the Seahawks this week. I also need Mark Andrews to have a not so great game. I’m picking the Ravens for the win.

Cardinals (1-7) @ Browns  (4-3) (1pm CBS)

The Cardinals are planning to start rookie quarterback Clayton Tune now that Joshua Dobbs is a Viking. There is also a slight chance that Kyler Murray may return as well. Tune has a 100% completion rating in his NFL career. He’s thrown one pass for 4 yards. With that said I’m picking the Browns to win this game.

Buccaneers (3-4) @ Texans (3-4)  (1pm CBS)

Both teams are pretty evenly matched. Both teams also have the same exact record. I’m picking the Texans to win but I wouldn’t be surprised if the Bucs took the game.

Bears (2-6) @ Saints (4-4) (1pm CBS)

I’m pretty sure that Justin Fields isn’t going to start for the Bears. Even if he does, I am picking the Saints to win this game.

Vikings (4-4) @ Falcons (4-4)  (1pm FOX)

With Kirk Cousins out for the Vikings I’m going to pick the Falcons to win this game. The Vikings will probably start rookie Jaren Hall. Joshua Dobbs might play but that’s all up in the air. He just joined the team on Tuesday. The Falcons are going with Taylor Heinicke instead of Desmond Ridder as their starting quarterback.

Rams (3-5) @ Packers (2-5) (1pm FOX)

Great. Just great. I just said last week that I am not picking the Rams to win anymore and I’m not picking the Packers to win any more and now they are playing each other?! Welp. I guess I’m going to have to pick the Rams to win this game. They have a better record and have won more on the road than the Packers have won at home. It’ll probably end in a tie.

Commanders (3-5) @ Patriots (2-6) (1pm FOX)

Your team is only as good as your defense and the Commanders just traded away two of their best defenders in my opinion. With that said I am picking the Patriots to win this game.

Colts (3-5) @ Panthers (1-6) (4:05pm CBS)

The Panthers got their first win of the season last week and it might have been their last. I am picking the Colts to win this game.

NY Giants (2-6) @ Raiders (3-5) (4:25pm FOX)

Well if the Raiders win this game at least a former Giant will also get the win. Antonio Pierce is the interim head coach for the Raiders. I loved Pierce as a Giant and I’m happy for him. Before the firing of Josh McDaniels I would’ve been more likely to pick the Giants to win this game. The Raiders played on Monday night so they have a short week. They are also benching Jimmy G and starting rookie QB Aidan O’Connell. Historically teams that fire their head coaches win the next game.  Danny Jones will be back as quarterback for the Giants and Darren Waller will be out because he re-aggravated his hamstring. Sorry G-Men. I’ll be rooting for you but I’m picking the Raiders for the win.

Cowboys (5-2)  @ Eagles (7-1) (4:25pm FOX)

I hope this game ends in a tie. It would be better if the Cowboys won this game but it’s not likely. I’m picking the Eagles for the win.

Bills (5-3) @ Bengals (4-3) (8:20pm NBC)

This game will get a lot of media hype. This game will be emotional. For the rest of forever anytime these two teams play each other Damar Hamilin will be mentioned.  The last time they played each other the Bengals knocked the Bills out of the playoffs. The time before that Hamlin died on the field and was brought back to life by the medical staff. The rest of the game was canceled. The Bills haven’t beaten the Bengals in awhile. I think Sunday that’ll change. I am picking the Bills to win this game. GO BILLS I Billieve.

Monday, November 6th

Chargers (3-4) @ Jets (4-3) (8:15pm ABC/ESPN)

I’ll be rooting for and picking the Chargers to win this game. I still have a sour taste in my mouth from last week. Stupid Jets.

GO G-MEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the edit Eric!
