Regular Season Week 12

Happy Thanksgiving! I hope yours is filled with love, thankfulness, and above all else, I hope you stay safe.

Traditionally, there is always football on Thanksgiving. The Lions and Cowboys have always played on Thanksgiving day but the NFL added a 3rd game in 2006. Why? Who cares, there’s more football to watch as you digest the turkey and pie! This Thanksgiving there will only be 2 games, because, you guessed it, COVID-19. The Steelers and Ravens were supposed to play Thursday night but the game has been moved to Sunday because the Ravens have multiple positive cases.

I went 9-5 in my picks and lost in fantasy. Here’s the recap of week 11.

Cardinals @ Seahawks  21-28

This game was super close the entire time! Kyler Murry injured his shoulder during the game but stuck it out the whole game. It was also a much cleaner game for the Seahawks this time around. Russell Wilson had no interceptions, and 2 touchdown passes. The Seattle defense also stepped up, causing a safety in the 4th quarter, ultimately sealing the win for the Seahawks.

Eagles @ Browns 17-22

The Browns defense had an exceptional game, which I would be super happy with any other time, but this past week my opponent had the Browns defense, and that was a big part of the reason I lost in fantasy. Regardless, it’s always fun watching the Eagles lose. The defense picked off Carson Wentz twice, once for a pick 6,  and caused a safety.

Falcons @ Saints 9-24

The Saints didn’t seem to miss Drew Brees with Taysom Hill under center. Hill didn’t have any passing touchdowns as a first-time starting quarterback but had 2 rushing in the second half. The Saints defense was remarkable holding the Falcons to only 3 field goals and zero touchdowns. Brees has 11 fractured ribs and will not be returning to the field anytime soon.

Bengals @ Washington 9-20

Joe Burrow’s season ended quite abruptly as he tore his ACL, MCL and suffered other structural issues in his left knee in this loss to the Football Team. Without Burrow under center the Bengals were scoreless in the second half of the game. Washington scored 3 times in the second half sealing the win.

Lions @ Panthers 0-20

The Panthers SHUTOUT the Lions in Charlotte with a backup quarterback, P.J. Walker, who had two interceptions on the day. What does that say about the Lions? Not many good things I’d have to say.

Steelers @ Jaguars 27-3

The Jags led the game the entire first quarter, but only scoring a field goal the whole game will not beat the Steelers. Pittsburgh’s defense picked off Jacksonville’s quarterback Jake Lutton FOUR times. Big Ben did have an interception that came just before halftime, but also had 2 passing touchdowns in the Steelers rout of the Jags.

Titans @ Ravens 30-24 OT

It was around this time last year that these two teams played each other and it was then the Titans were able to dissect Lamar Jackson’s dynamic run game and make him throw the ball. Taking away Jackson’s run game and capitalizing on Derrick Henry’s legs got the Titans the win last year and this year as well. Henry had the game winning touchdown in overtime. Poetic. This was a revenge game for the Ravens and the emotions were running high even before the game. Ravens head coach had to be guided off the field after words and lifted voices were exchanged before kickoff. It set the tone of the game which included overtime. Dez Bryant made his debut as a Raven, which took all the looks away from Marquis Brown, who had 0 points for me in fantasy. As someone who had 2 Ravens players on my fantasy team and picking Baltimore to win, it wasn’t a good day for me, or Ravens fans everywhere.

Patriots @ Texans 20-27

The Texans got their second home win of the season as the Patriots continued their struggles. Although Cam Newton had more passing yards, Deshaun Watson had a better day with more completions and 3 touchdowns to Cam’s one. It was nice to see the Texans win and me get the pick right.

Dolphins @ Broncos 13-20

I did not get this pick correct and I should’ve started my Broncos players. How was I to know that the Dolphins were going to fall apart. Tua Tagovailoa took one too many sacks and was ultimately ineffective leading to Ryan Fitzpatrick taking his place. Fitzmagic wasn’t his magical self, throwing an interception in the 4th and ending with a Dolphins loss.

Jets @ Chargers 28-34

This game was pretty close but the Chargers came out on top. Justin Herbert threw for 366 yards and 3 touchdowns which shows that he wasn’t the Sampson type with his hair cut. The Chargers got their third win of the season while the Jets remain winless.

Packers @ Colts 31-34 OT

I got this pick wrong too. I really thought that the Packers were going to win this game. I knew it would be close, but I didn’t think it would go into overtime. The Colts controlled the clock and forced more turnovers which is what ultimately won the game for them. Oh well.

Cowboys @ Vikings 31-28

The one time I’m actually rooting for the Vikings to win… I still don’t know how Minnesota lost this game. I’m sure it was to spite me because I don’t like the Cowboys nor do I like Kirk Cousins. PS the Giants, Football Team, and Cowboys are all now tied for 2nd place in their division… Thanks a lot Minnesota.

Chiefs @ Raiders 35-31

It was the Raiders who gave the Chiefs their first and only loss of the season and they really tried to hand them their second loss of the season but the Chiefs wouldn’t have it. The Raiders scored first and it was back and forth for the rest of the game. Both quarterbacks had an interception but Patrick Mahomes out passed Derek Carr by almost 75 yards. It was a fun game to watch indeed.

Rams @ Buccaneers 27-24

This was the first game that featured an entirely Black officiating team. I was glad to see this finally happen but a little upset that it took the league 50 plus years to make it so. The game was another close back and forth game. Jared Goff had a better day than Tom Brady with 3 touchdowns to Brady’s 2. Both quarterbacks had 2 interceptions but it was Brady’s last interception that sealed the win for the Rams coming late in the 4th. I always like seeing Brady pout, and lose.

WEEK 12

Thanksgiving- Thursday, November 26th

Texans (3-7) @ Lions (4-6)  (12:30pm CBS)

The Lions were shut out last week while the Texans got their second win at home this season. I predict that this game will be pretty close and that the Lions win.

Washington (3-7) @ Cowboys (3-7) (4:30pm FOX)

I hope this game ends in a tie. I’ll be rooting for Washington because if they win and the Giants win this week the Giants will be ahead of the Football Team in rankings because we swept them this year. With that all said I’m picking the Cowboys to win this game hoping it ends in a tie.

Sunday, November 29th

Ravens (6-4) @ Steelers (10-0) (1pm NBC)

I was so excited about this game being scheduled for Thanksgiving night. The last time these two teams played each other on Thanksgiving I was in Seattle with my family. My dad and I watched the game on my laptop. We were both disgusted in the Steelers, especially after Mike Tomlin stepped onto the field of play to trip Jacoby Jones and stop him from scoring a kickoff return touchdown. The Ravens won that game in spite of Tomlin’s miss step…

This time around the Ravens have had 7 players either test positive or have been identified as close contacts. The decision to postpone the game came just 31 hours before kickoff.

I’d like to see the Ravens win this game, if and when it’s played, but I’m going to have to make my pick with the Steelers to win.

Raiders (6-4) Falcons (3-7) (1pm CBS)

I’m picking the Raiders to win this game. I just hope that Todd Gurley has a much better game than last week.

Chargers (3-7) @ Bills (7-3) (1pm CBS)

The Bills are coming off their bye. They should be fresh and ready to beat the Chargers. I’m picking the Bills for the win.

NY Giants (3-7) @ Bengals (2-7-1) (1pm FOX)

The Giants will be facing the backup’s backup quarterback for the Bengals. I’m picking the Giants to win this game, even though Joe Judge fired their offensive line coach right before the bye because he called him a “really naughty name.” GO GMEN! 3 in a row?

Titans (7-3) @ Colts (7-3) (1pm CBS)

I’m going to have to go with the Colts at home, as long as Phillip Rivers has a good game. Regardless, it should be a good game.

Panthers (4-7) @ Vikings (4-6)  (1pm FOX)

The stupid Vikings were supposed to win last week. Can they beat the Panthers? I hope not. But I think they will. I’m picking the Vikings for the win.

Cardinals (6-4) @ Patriots (4-6) (1pm FOX)

As long as Kylar Murry can play I think that the Cardinals will win this game. I’m picking the Cardinals for the win.

Dolphins (6-4) @ Jets (0-10) (1pm CBS)

Will the Jets get their first win of the season? Probably not. I’m picking the Dolphins to win this game.

Browns (7-3) @ Jaguars (1-9) (1pm CBS)

I really need Nick Chubb to have a huge game. I’m picking the Browns to win this game.

Saints (8-2) @ Broncos (4-6) (4:05pm FOX)

Will Taysom Hill start this game as QB? Will ESPN Fantasy change him from a TE position to a QB only position? Will the Broncos beat the Saints?  Probably. Hopefully.  Doubtful. I’m going with the Saints to win this game.

49ers (4-6) @ Rams (7-3) (4:05pm FOX)

The 49ers are coming off their bye. They are well rested. With that said I’m picking the Rams to win this game.

Chiefs (9-1) @ Buccaneers (7-4) (4:25pm CBS)

I think this is going to be another nail biting type of game. Patrick Mahomes is my starting quarterback so I am going to pick the Chiefs to win this game.

Bears (5-5) @ Packers (7-3) (8:20pm NBC)

I hope that this is a very low scoring game in which the Packers win. It would be better for my defense if the Packers lost, but I just don’t see that happening. I’m picking the Packers to win this game.

Monday, November 30th

Seahawks (7-3) @ Eagles (3-6-1) (8:15pm ESPN)

I hope the Seahawks trounce the Eagles. Really. Crush them. I’m picking the Seahawks for the win.

BYE

None scheduled, but, you know, it could happen.

The Shenoa Report Week 11 '20 #theshenoareport

The Shenoa Report
November 19, 2020
Regular Season Week 11

You guys! The Giants have won two weeks in a row AND they can’t lose this week because they have their BYE!!!!! Woot! This I am thankful for.
There are COVID-19 positives everywhere and honestly, I can’t keep up with which team has which. With COVID-19 infection rates rising rapidly throughout the country, the NFL announced that starting on Saturday all 32 teams will operate for the rest of the season under the league's intensive protocol. To read more about it go here: https://www.nfl.com/news/all-nfl-teams-to-operate-in-covid-19-intensive-protocol-starting-saturday

Wear a damn mask if you are going out. Better yet, stay home, read The Shenoa Report, and enjoy some football from the comfort of your home.

I went 9-5 in my picks and lost in fantasy. Here’s the recap of week 10.

Colts @ Titans 34-17
The Colts stunned the Titans, and everyone else, on Thursday night. Indy’s defense held Derrick Henry to just 103 yards, which really is saying something. Nyheim Hines had 2 touchdowns, one rushing the other from a pass from Philip Rivers. Rivers threw for over 300 yards and, more importantly, had no interceptions. The Colts special teams blocked a punt which was returned for a touchdown. In the fourth quarter the Colts were doing so well that they pulled Rivers from the game and put in Jacoby Brissett, who also had a rushing touchdown. I got this pick wrong.

Texans @ Browns 7-10
The final score should’ve been 7-17. Nick Chubb was back in the lineup and had the only touchdown for the Browns. He should have had 2, but he went out of bounds on the 1 yard line to seal the win for Cleveland. Classy, yes. Good for fantasy football, no.  It was a good defensive game. A lot of punts, and the only scoring plays came in the first quarter and the 4th quarter.

Jaguars @ Packers 20-24
The Jags, although they have only won one game this season, sure did put up a fight. They scored in every quarter, didn’t allow Green Bay to score in the first and third quarter, and really tried to spoil the Packers’ day. In the fourth quarter the Jags picked off Aaron Rodgers but their offense had to settle for a field goal. It’s clear that the Jags offense needs to step up more to finish games.

Washington @ Lions 27-30
This game was a real nail biter. It was one of those games that really came down to the last play. Alex Smith started the game in his first start since “the accident.” Even though he didn’t have a touchdown on the day, he had close to 400 passing yards! The game was decided with 16 seconds to go when Matt Prater kicked the game winning field goal from 59 yards. Had Prater missed, the game would have gone into overtime, and I think that the Football Team would have won.

Eagles @ NY Giants 17-27
YEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!! The Giants have now won two in a row. For the fans, it feels more like they’ve won 10 in a row. Oh 2020. It was such a great win, we haven’t beaten the Eagles since 2016! Ugh, it was time! Danny Jones, for the second week in a row, didn’t have a turnover, nor did he fall down while trying to score a touchdown. In fact he had 2 rushing touchdowns, only one was called back because the percussionist was called for holding. The percussionist is how we refer to this year's 4th overall draft pick, because that’s what he’s known for, clearly not for playing football… The Giants defense had an amazing game, they didn’t let the Eagles convert a single 3rd down, and they converted 9 of their own!!! It’s probably too soon to say that the Giants have turned a corner, but 1st place in the division is easily in their grasp.

Buccaneers @ Panthers 46-23
Clearly, the Buccaneers rebounded from their loss the previous week and put a hurting on the Panthers. Carolina, again without McCaffrey, struggled the entire game. The first quarter was their best, with 2 touchdowns, but after that they just kinda fizzled out while the Bucs momentum snowballed forward. Tom Brady threw 3 touchdown passes and ran for another. This was all after what should’ve been a 45 minute plane ride to Charlotte ended up taking 8 hours. The team was stranded on the tarmac after their original flight was delayed more than 6 hours due to mechanical issues and were forced to board a new plane to Charlotte. I guess the team had a lot of time to strategize how to beat the Panthers.

Broncos @ Raiders 12-37
One of the biggest reasons I lost in fantasy this past week was because my opponent started Josh Jacobs and I started Philip Lindsay. Jacobs had 21 carries, 112 rushing yards, and 2 touchdowns. In my stupid league, where points per touch is a thing, it turned in to 51 points for Jacobs. Lindsay in comparison had 4 points. I also started Noah Fant who had a total of 4 points as well. The Broncos surely did not help me this week in fantasy but the Raiders were my opponents MVP. The Raiders are firing on all cylinders, offense, defense, and special teams. Their defense, for example, picked off Drew Lock FOUR times. If you are a Broncos fan, I’m sorry.

Chargers  @ Dolphins 21-29
The Dolphins are not the team they used to be. They have 6 wins this season so far, I think they had 6 wins in the combined last 7 years. (That’s my sarcastic font, it’s not true, but if you’re a Dolphins fan it might feel like it.) In a division that the Patriots dominated for close to 2 decades the Dolphins now have a chance to rise to the top. They just have to do better than the Bills this season… If Miami’s defense continues to stand strong and Tua continues to grow with the offense we could be seeing the Dolphins like they were when Dan Marino was the quarterback.

Bills @ Cardinals 30-32
*Disclaimer* Bills fans, you may not want to read this write up. It’s going to be too painful. You might just want to skip past this one and let out a big sigh of relief that week 11 is your bye week and the Bills can’t lose!
This game was back and forth and a thriller to watch. With 34 seconds left in the game Josh Allen threw an incredible pass to Stefon Diggs in the end zone to go up by 4. The Bills entire team and fans alike thought they had sealed the win. Game over. But the game wasn’t over. In just 32 seconds and 4 plays the Cardinals mounted a comeback for the ages. With 2 seconds left in the game Kyler Murray scrambled and threw a bomb to DeAndre Hopkins in the end zone surrounded by 3 Bills defenders. Hopkins stole the ball out of the air and came down with the winning touchdown. Quarterback fans are calling it a “Hail Murray” instead of a “Hail Mary” while wide receiver fans are calling it a “Hail Hopkins.” Bills fans are calling it heartburn, disappointment, and terror.

Seahawks @ Rams 16-23
The Seahawks have hit rock bottom in just 2 weeks.  Russell Wilson threw 2 interceptions and 0 touchdowns, DK Metcalf only had 2 receptions for 28 yards and the running game was non-existent. The Rams, on the other hand, had 3 rushing touchdowns, Malcolm Brown had 2 and Darrell Henderson had the other. Jarred Goff didn’t have a touchdown but didn’t throw an interception either. The NFC West has a 3 way tie for first place, and the Seahawks need to rebound quickly in order to stay in the running.

49ers @ Saints 13-27
Drew Brees did not have a good day. He didn’t have an interception and did have one touchdown before leaving the game with 5 broken ribs and a punctured lung. Jameis Winston came in for the injured Brees to finish the game. Thankfully for the Saints, Alvin Kamara had a very good game with 2 rushing touchdowns and 1 receiving. The Saints defense also stepped up, intercepting Nick Mullens twice, holding the 49ers to just one touch down and two field goals.

Bengals @ Steelers 10-36
It was pretty much the Big Ben show in Pittsburgh. The Bengals couldn’t contain Roethlisberger, who had 4 touchdowns on the day. This was to be expected as the Steelers are now 9-0 for the first time in franchise history. That’s really all I have to say about the Steelers. I’m not happy about it, it is what it is.

Ravens @ Patriots 17-23
This game was pretty fun to watch. It looked like it was being played in a monsoon. It was evident that the Patriots had practiced in inclement weather while the Ravens had not. Even though the Ravens are the better team, by a landslide, the playing field was even because of the weather. Patriots running back Rex Burkhead had a great game with 2 touchdowns, while he sat on my bench in fantasy. Oh well, even if I had played my best lineup I still would’ve lost. Kinda like the Ravens.

Vikings @ Bears 19-13
If the Bears had a better quarterback they probably would’ve won this game. Nick Foles continues to be the achilles heel of Chicago. The defense did a pretty good job of containing Delvin Cook and even picked off Kirk Cousins once. Cordarrelle Patterson had a 104 yard kickoff return for a touchdown for the Bears but Nick Foles had an interception and no touchdowns.

WEEK 11

Thursday, November 19th

Cardinals (6-3) @ Seahawks (6-3) (8:20pm FOX/NFLN)
A game of angry birds. Gosh, the Seahawks have got to get back to winning. This will probably be a close game but I’m going to pick the Seahawks to win this game because I can’t see them falling to 3 straight losses.

Sunday, November 22nd

Eagles (3-5-1) @ Browns (6-3)  (1pm FOX)
I’m picking the Browns to win this game and I hope they put a beating on the Eagles in the process.

Falcons (3-6) @ Saints (7-2) (1pm FOX)
The Saints will be without Drew Brees so it’s up to Jameis Winston to lead the team to victory. This could be a trap game for New Orleans since the Falcons just started to figure out how to finish games. I’m going to pick the Saints to win this game but I will not be surprised if this doesn’t happen.

Bengals (2-6-1) Washington (2-7) (1pm CBS)
I hate to say it, but Washington is coming together. I think they could actually win this game. I don’t want them to because I need all the teams in the NFC East to lose this week, as it’ll be good for the Giants on their bye. With all that said I’m picking the Football Team to win but I hope I’m wrong. Go Bengals!

Lions (4-5) @ Panthers (3-7) (1pm FOX)
Lions running back D’Andre Swift has a concussion and probably won't play in this game. Therefore I am picking the Panthers to win.

Steelers (9-0) @ Jaguars (1-8) (1pm CBS)
I would love to see the Jags get their second win of the season but this is highly unlikely. I’m picking the Steelers to win this game.

Titans (6-3) @ Ravens (6-3) (1pm CBS)
Both these teams are coming off pretty humiliating losses and both teams need a win. Which one will actually get it? I’m picking the Ravens. Am I confident in this pick? No I am not.

Patriots (4-5) @ Texans (2-7)  (4:05pm CBS)
I’m going to pick the home team for the win. I don’t think that the Patriots can win three in a row. But who knows.

Dolphins (6-3) @ Broncos (3-6) (4:05pm CBS)
I think the Dolphins are the real deal and therefore will win this game against the struggling Broncos. Note to self, I should sit my Broncos players.

Jets (0-9) @ Chargers (2-7) (4:05pm CBS)
If you need a good laugh google Justin Herbert haircut. If the initial picture doesn’t get you a giggle the comments are sure to. I promise. Hopefully Herbert isn’t like Sampson and all the power and strength was in his hair. I’m picking the Chargers to win this game but really wouldn’t be shocked if the Jets got their first win of the season… In week 11.

Packers (7-2) @ Colts (6-3) (4:25pm FOX)
This’ll be a good game. I’m picking the Packers to win, but they will have to really work for this win because the Colts defense is legit.

Cowboys (2-7) @ Vikings (4-5) (4:25pm FOX)
Andy Dalton has had a rough three weeks. First he got a concussion and was knocked out of the game then he contracted COVID-19. Dalton said “the COVID hit me hard the first day I had it, then it gradually started feeling better.” He was concussed on top of it all so, who knows. With all that being said, Dalton is supposed to start against the Vikings. I’m picking the Vikings to win this game.

Chiefs (8-1) @ Raiders (6-3) (8:20pm NBC)
The Chiefs are fresh off their bye so I’m picking them to win this game. I’m also picking them to win this game because I have to start their defense and Patrick Mahomes is my quarterback in fantasy.

Monday, November 23rd

Rams (6-3) @ Buccaneers (7-3) (8:15pm ESPN)
I’d like to see the Rams win this game but I’ll be picking the Bucs for the win.

The Shenoa Report Week 10 '20 #theshenoareport

The Shenoa Report
November 12, 2020
Regular Season Week 10

During the offseason NFL owners agreed to expand the playoffs from 12 games to 14 games. On Wednesday of this week NFL owners approved a proposal to add two playoff teams, 8 in each conference, if regular season games get cancelled. So there is a potential for playoffs to go from 12 games to 16! Oh 2020, how you seem to keep us on our toes. Heading into week 10 some teams have started to think about the playoffs. Other teams, like the Jets will just be happy to get a win this season.

I try to give a Covid-19 update each week. From November 1-7 there were 56 positive tests, 15 from players and 41 from team personnel. Since then the Ravens and Steelers have had more positive cases. Ben Roethlisberger hasn't tested positive yet but is in quarantine due to being in close proximity to Vance McDonald who did. It’s hard to keep up. Maybe I should just start reporting when no teams have a case… 2022?

I went 11-3 in my picks and won again in fantasy. Here’s the recap of week 9.

Packers @ 49ers 34-17
The Packers beat up the 49ers Thursday night. Aaron Rodgers had 4 touchdowns and Mason Crosby had 2 field goals, both on my bench in fantasy. I thought I had made a big mistake not playing them, I was projected to lose. The 49ers couldn’t get anything going until the fourth quarter, they had two touchdowns then but it was too little too late.

Seahawks @ Bills 34-44
Yikes! I got this pick wrong. The Bills came out with a vengeance against the Seahawks. Russell Wilson was ranked as the number 1 quarterback for fantasy, and anyone who started him suffered a major blow. Wilson himself had FOUR turnovers, 2 interceptions and 2 fumbles. It was absolutely ugly.  The Bills only had one bad quarter, the 3rd, in true Bills fashion, but they had built up quite a lead that it didn’t matter much. The Bills lead the AFC East midseason for the first time in pretty much forever.

Broncos @ Falcons 27-34
The Falcons finally won a home game, but more importantly stopped a Broncos comeback, barely. We’ve seen this story all too much this season. The Falcons have the lead heading into the 4th quarter and repeatedly end up losing the game. They were well on their way to that scenario in the fourth quarter of this game by letting the Broncos score 3 touchdowns in the fourth. Thankfully, for the Falcons, they were able to hold on for the win.

Ravens  @ Colts 24-10
The Colts defense continues to be decent, and Philip Rivers continues to hurt his team. Rivers’ interceptions seemed to be a turning point in the game, giving the Ravens the confidence to finish the game. Baltimore shut out the Colts in the second half of the game.

Bears  @ Titans 17-24
Tennessee's defense shut out the Bears for the first 3 quarters. They must have gotten tired in the fourth quarter, allowing 17 points with 2 touchdowns coming in the last 5 minutes of the game. The damage was already done and the Titans came out with the win.

Lions @ Vikings 20-34
The Lions defense could not contain Dalvin Cook who had 206 yards and 2 rushing touchdowns for the Vikings. They couldn’t contain Kirk Cousins either, who had 3 touchdowns and no interceptions. Matthew Stafford was back under center for the Lions after a covid scare, but maybe he should’ve sat the game out. He did have one touchdown but threw 2 interceptions.

Texans @ Jaguars 27-25
The Texans got their second win of the season but it wasn’t pretty. The game was evenly matched, because both teams are pretty pathetic. Texan’s JJ Watt finally got his first sack of the season, he’s become a little restless with Houston and has voiced that he wants to be on a winning team. Deshaun Watson had a decent game with 2 touchdowns and no interceptions.

Panthers @ Chiefs 31-33
Christian McCaffrey was back for the Panthers which helped make it a close game. McCaffrey had 2 touchdowns, one receiving and one rushing, the first and last touchdown of the game. But it was Patrick Mahomes that was the real star of this game, throwing 4 touchdown passes and putting up 372 yards. The Chiefs started slow but finished strong.

NY Giants @ Washington 23-20
Waaaaaaaaahoooooooooo! I mean, the Giants almost blew it, again, but instead won the game!!!!!!!!! It was really the Giants defense that won the game for New York as well as the lack of turnovers from Danny Jones. The Giants defense recovered one fumble and had 3 interceptions in this divisional win. Jabrill Peppers led the defense recovering a fumble early in the game and then intercepting Alex Smith’s pass late in the game, giving the Giants the W!

Raiders @ Chargers 31-26
I was right! The Raiders won and Keenan Allen got a touchdown. The Chargers actually had a chance to win this game but failed to convert on a two-point play after their final touchdown. The Raiders then marched down the field and kicked a field goal to win the game.

Steelers @ Cowboys 24-19
Yo, the Steelers almost lost this game. It was fun to watch the undefeated Steelers against the 2-win Cowboys…  Dallas, who had no chance in hell of winning this game, or so everyone thought, led for almost all of the first half! I wanted this game to end in a tie but the Steelers came alive in the fourth quarter to beat the Cowboys.

Dolphins @ Cardinals 34-31
I got this pick wrong too. Are the Dolphins for real? They seem to be! The game went back and forth and it was pretty close until the Dolphins shut out the Cardinals in the 4th quarter taking the win. Kyler Murray had four touchdowns, three passing and one rushing, but it wasn’t enough to win the game. I was shocked.

Saints @ Buccaneers 38-3
It’s hard to pinpoint when Tom Brady gave up completely but it sure was fun to watch. Brady had 3 interceptions and 0 touchdowns. The Bucs had a total of 4 rushes the entire game, while Drew Brees had 4 touchdowns. To say this game was unevenly matched is a huge understatement. I got this pick wrong as well, but you know what? I’m ok with it.

Patriots @ Jets 30-27
The Jets came very close to getting their first win of the season. But close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades. I started the Patriots defense in my fantasy team so I really only needed them to not get negative points. It wasn’t a pretty game, but Cam Newton didn’t turn the ball over and I think it was because of that the Patriots finally broke their losing streak.

WEEK 10

Thursday, November 12th

Colts (5-3) @ Titans (6-2) (8:20pm FOX/NFLN)
I’m going to pick the Titans to win this game, they have Derrick Henry and the Colts have Philip Rivers.

Sunday, November 15th

Texans (2-6) @ Browns (5-3)  (1pm FOX)
I’m picking the Browns to win this game, especially if Nick Chubb plays! Welcome back Chubb! I’ve missed you and so has my fantasy team!

Jaguars (1-7) @ Packers (6-2) (1pm CBS)
I’m pretty sure that the Packers are going to win this game. That’s my pick.

Washington (2-6) @ Lions (3-5) (1pm FOX)
The Lions haven’t won at home yet this season nor have the Football Team won on the road. I’m going to pick the Lions to win their first home game.

Eagles (3-4-1) @ NY Giants (2-7) (1pm FOX)
Against better judgement I am going to pick the Giants to win this game. Can they win 2 in a row and be in the run for first place in their division? Anything is possible in the NFC East. GO GMEN!!!!

Buccaneers (6-3) @ Panthers (3-6) (1pm FOX)
McCaffery  is out this week for the Panthers so I’m going to pick the Bucs to bounce back and win this divisional game.

Broncos (3-5) @ Raiders (5-3) (4:05pm CBS)
I’m going to pick the Raiders to win this game. I’d blame it on home field advantage, but that just isn’t the case this year.

Chargers (2-6) @ Dolphins (5-3)  (4:05pm CBS)
The Dolphins are on a roll, and the Chargers will probably lose another close game this week. I’m picking the Dolphins to win this game.

Bills (7-2) @ Cardinals (5-3) (4:05pm CBS)
I’m going to pick the Bills to win this game but I wouldn’t be surprised if the Cardinals upset Buffalo.

Seahawks (6-2) @ Rams (5-3) (4:25pm FOX)
I think that the Seahawks are going to bounce back from their humiliating loss last week. I’m picking the Seahawks to win this game.

49ers (4-5) @ Saints (6-2) (4:25pm FOX)
The Saints will win this game at home and Drew Brees will further extend his lead of most touchdown passes in the NFL over Brady.

Bengals (2-5-1) @ Steelers (8-0) (4:25pm CBS)
I’d like to see the Bengals win and I’ll be rooting for them too, but I’m picking the Steelers to win this game.

Ravens (6-2) @ Patriots (3-5) (8:20pm NBC)
I don’t think the Patriots really have a chance to win this game. I’m picking the Ravens for the win.

Monday, November 16th

Vikings (3-5) @ Bears (5-4) (8:15pm ESPN)
My fantasy win or loss, most likely loss, will be decided during this game. I have the Bears defense and my opponent has Dalvin Cook. I’m picking the Bears to win mostly for fantasy implications. Yes, I’m delusional.

The Shenoa Report Week 9 '20 #theshenoareport

The Shenoa Report
November 5, 2020
Regular Season Week 9

This week there have been positive tests in the Packers, 49ers, Bears, Texans, and Lions organizations as of today. No games have been cancelled or postponed yet.
Election day was Tuesday and we still don’t know who will be the next president of the United States. I’ve been refreshing my news app this week just as much, if not more, than I do my fantasy football app on Sunday and Monday night.
I went 8-6 in my picks and finally won again in fantasy. Here’s the recap of week 8.

Falcons @ Panthers 25-17
The Falcons finally finished a game, and won, surprising pretty much everyone. The game wasn’t pretty and at any point the Panthers could’ve come out on top. It was honestly a disappointment to see the Falcons win, as I had gotten so used to seeing them blow it.

Raiders @ Browns 16-6
I got this pick wrong too. The Raiders held the Browns to 2 field goals, shutting them out the first and fourth quarters. The Browns just couldn’t get things together. The weather didn’t help, as there were turnovers, missed field goals and a lot of different precipitation including hail. I think the Browns are just too beat up right now.

Patriots @ Bills 21-24
For almost the entire game it looked like the Patriots would beat the Bills again at home. And then, late in the fourth, the Patriots were driving.  Cam Newton stepped up, started to rush towards the end zone, and fumbled the ball. The Bills, with a sigh of relief, were able to kneel it out, winning the game. The Patriots have now lost 4 in a row!

Titans @ Bengals 20-31
Yup, I got this pick incorrect as well, but I think everyone did. I mean, this win was the most shocking of week 8. Joe Burrow had everything going his way with 249 passing yards and 2 touchdowns, with no interceptions. The Bengals defense also stepped up and held Derrick Henry to one touchdown and intercepted a Ryan Tannehill pass.

Vikings @ Packers 28-22
Okay, actually this might have been the most surprising win in week 8. I got this pick wrong too! Uugh! The third quarter is what took the Packers out of this game. They didn’t put up a single point while the Vikings scored 2 touchdowns. Green Bay tried to mount a comeback in the fourth quarter but came up short. It was shocking indeed.

Colts @ Lions 41-21
I knew that the Lions couldn’t win three in a row. The Colts came to Detroit with a vengeance. Philip Rivers made it through a game with no interceptions! In the second quarter alone, the Colts had 3 touchdowns. Nyheim Hines had two of them. He showed off his acrobatics in both of his celebrations. They were impressive and I wonder if he could be in the olympics as a gymnast? The Colts seem to be on a great path to the post season.

Jets @ Chiefs 9-35
Patrick Mahomes had so much fun in this win over the Jets. He had 5 touchdowns and 416 passing yards on the day! At one point, after Tyreek Hill’s second touchdown, Patrick decided to give Tyreek a piggyback ride in celebration. It was a good day to be a Chiefs fan, or to have Mahomes on your fantasy team, which I did! Thanks for helping me beat the commissioner of my league Patrick!

Rams @ Dolphins 17-28
Tua Tagovailoa got his first win in the NFL as a starting quarterback. It didn’t start too well for him though, as he got sacked on the second play of the Dolphins first possession,  fumbling and turning over the ball, which led to a Rams touchdown. Turnovers were kind of the theme of this game. Both teams had turnovers that lead to touchdowns. The Dolphins had a big second quarter with three touchdowns, none of them Tua passes. Tua did make up for his fumble in the first quarter by throwing a touchdown pass to DeVante Parker at the end of first quarter. Clearly, the Rams were not prepared for the Dolphins, either that, or they didn’t take them seriously.

Steelers @ Ravens 28-24
Stupid Steelers. This game was back and forth and close till the end. The Steelers were just a little bit better on defense, intercepting Lamar Jackson twice, and ultimately the demise of the Ravens.

Chargers @ Broncos 30-31
The Broncos finally won a game at home!  The Chargers blew a 21 point lead in the third quarter and the Broncos clawed back in the fourth quarter to take the game. Both quarterbacks had interceptions, but it was Drew Lock that came out on top with his third touchdown pass to KJ Hamler at the end of the game to seal the win.

Saints @ Bears 26-23 OT
It took an overtime, but like I predicted, the Bears aren’t as good as their record, and the Saints won the game. The Bears defense is the reason they are doing so well this season, while quarterback Nick Foles seems to be the team's achilles heel. Mitch Trubisky was back under center for one play, he got hurt and was taken out again. Do you think they will call Jake Cutler out of retirement?  Time will tell. The best part of the game was the fight that ensued between Bears WR Javon Wims and Saints CB C.J. Gardner-Johnson. Apparently C.J. spit on Javon and ripped out his mouthpiece. This led to Javon sucker punching C.J.. Wims was disqualified from the rest of the game and has been suspended.

49ers @ Seahawks 27-37
The 49ers are injury ridden and lost two more players in this loss. Jimmy G and George Kittle sustained injuries that will keep them out for the foreseeable future. The Seahawks, on the other hand, looked strong as they beat their opponent soundly. Russell Wilson had four passing touchdowns, 2 to DK Metcalf, 1 to DeeJay Dallas, and 1 to David Moore.

Cowboys @ Eagles 9-23
The Cowboys led for a short time in this game, but couldn’t hold on because, well, they are terrible. The Eagles are also not good but someone has to win the NFC East. This game was a trainwreck to watch and ended with a fumble out of bounds in the end zone to give the Eagles 2 more points with a safety. The perfect end to a not so perfect game.

Buccaneers @ NY Giants 25-23
Sigh. I really don’t know what to say at this point. Out of the seven games the Giants have lost, five of them are one score games, three of them by 3 points or less. This game should’ve been different. They lost, yes, but it should’ve been a blowout, not come down to the last play of the game with a failed two point conversion. A blowout loss would’ve hurt much less. Almost every week I’ve typed the phrase, “false hope.” So much false hope. Thanks again Gmen for the false hope.

Here's a little recap of some of the things I've said about my beloved team...

Week 7, 21-22, “the open field tripped him (Danny Jones) up and he fell flat on his face before he hit the endzone. That pretty much sums up the Giants season. So much false hope. Ugh. This game. Stupid Giants.”
Week 6, 19-20, “The Giants ALMOST blew it, but instead it was Washington who couldn’t get it done in the end and they lost the game.”
Week 5, 34-37, “False hope. Every frickin time.”
Week 4, 9-17, “I can’t believe we have 12 more weeks of this nonsense.”
Week 3 was a blow out.
Week 2, 13-17, “Not gonna lie, I cried a bit during this game. The final score does not reflect how the game actually went.”
Week 1, 26-16, “Well, the Giants looked good in the first quarter and the Steelers looked terrible, and then everything switched.”

WEEK 8

Thursday, November 5th

Packers (5-2) @ 49ers (4-4) (8:20pm FOX/NFLN)
Both teams have positive cases, the 49ers have more. The game should be played tonight, and I am going to pick the Packers to bounce back and beat the beat up 49ers.

Sunday, November 8th

Seahawks (6-1) @ Bills (6-2)  (1pm FOX)
This should be a good game, and a close game. Sorry Bills fans, I’m picking the Seahawks to win this game.

Broncos (3-4) @ Falcons (2-6) (1pm CBS)
I don’t think that the Falcons can win two games in a row and they haven’t won at home yet this season. I also don’t think that the Broncos can win two games in a row, though they do have two road wins. Will this game end in a tie? Probably. Regardless, I hope it’s a high scoring game. I think I’ll pick the Falcons to win this game. Why not?

Ravens (5-2) @ Colts (5-2) (1pm CBS)
The Ravens should win this game, but the Colts are looking really good right now. I’m going to pick the Ravens to win but it wouldn’t surprise me if I was wrong.

Bears (5-3) @ Titans (5-2) (1pm FOX)
I’m picking the Titans to bounce back and get the win after their humiliating loss last week.
Lions (3-4) @ Vikings (2-5) (1pm CBS)
The Vikings have not won a home game yet this season. They are coming off a great divisional win and have a chance to get another this week. Lion’s quarterback Matt Stafford has been put on the Covid-19 reserve list so there is no guarantee that he’ll even play. Therefore, I’m going to pick the Vikings to win this game.

Texans (1-6) @ Jaguars (1-6) (1pm CBS)
One of these teams will get their second win of the season. I’m picking the Texans to do just that.

Panthers (5-2) @ Chiefs (7-1) (1pm FOX)
It looks like Christian McCaffrey will be back for the Panthers in this game. With that said, I’m picking the Chiefs to win this game.

NY Giants (1-7) @ Washington (2-5) (1pm FOX)
This will be the second matchup between these two teams. The Giants won the first match, mostly because the Football Team blew it. Could the Giants be so lucky again? We’ll if they are going to win another game this season, this would be the game. Therefore, I’m going to pick the Giants to win this game. Let’s see how far that false hope will get me.

Raiders (4-3) @ Chargers (2-5) (4:05pm FOX)
I’m picking the Raiders to win this game. But I do hope that Keenan Allen has a fantastic game for the Chargers.

Steelers (7-0) @ Cowboys (2-6) (4:25pm CBS)
I think that the Steelers could put in their practice squad and still beat the Cowboys. I’m picking the Steelers to win this game.

Dolphins (4-3) @ Cardinals (5-1) (4:25pm CBS)
I’m picking the Cardinals to win this game. I don’t think that the Dolphins can win two in a row.

Saints (5-2) @ Buccaneers (6-2) (8:20pm NBC)
I’d like to see the Saints win this game, but I don’t think it’s going to happen. I’m picking the Bucs to win this game.

Monday, November 9th

Patriots (2-5) @ Jets (0-8) (8:15pm ESPN)
I’m picking the Patriots to stop their losing streak with this game. The Jets will put up a good fight, but the Patriots will win this game.
