Regular Season Week 4
Week three was a little better than week 2. I won in fantasy 198-108 and more importantly, the Giants got their first win of the season. In other news, Antonio Brown has quit the NFL to go back to college to earn a degree, and the Bills are one of the teams that are 3-0. This is truly a weird world we live in.
I went 11-5 on my picks, still beating all of the NFL Insiders, and I am 2-1 in my fantasy league.
Here is the recap for week three.
Titans @ Jaguars 7-20
The Jaguars defense, Sacksonville, had 9 sacks in their dominance over the Titans. I had the Jags defense so it was a fun game to watch.
Bengals @ Bills 17-21
It wasn’t so much the Bills winning this game as it was the Bengals losing it. It was a pretty sloppy game, but hey, a win is a win right?
Dolphins @ Cowboys 6-31
The Cowboys could have played their fourth string players and still come out with a win. The Dolphins are bad, really bad. At least it wasn’t a shutout?
Broncos @ Packers 16-27
The Packers are also playing pretty sloppy football, just not as sloppy as the Broncos. I would have liked Aaron Rodgers to throw more TD’s but I’m not going to complain about fantasy too much this week.
Falcons @ Colts 24-27
The Colts won their home opener. Jacoby Brisette is feeling more at home in his starting role and Colts fans are already saying Luck who?
Ravens @ Chiefs 28-33
Patrick Mahomes continues to be unstoppable as the Chiefs were no match for the Ravens. Sorry, not sorry, Ray Lewis.
Raiders @ Vikings 14-34
The Vikings showed no mercy over the Raiders as Delvin Cook ran all over Oakland. It didn’t even help that Derek Carr had two touchdowns on the day.
Jets @ Patriots 14-30
I can’t remember where we left off in the AB saga. He played last week for the Patriots and then this week the Pats let him go. Obviously they didn’t need his help to trample the Jets.
Lions @ Eagles 27-24
The Lions are the first team this year to return a 100 yard kickoff for a touchdown, and I’m glad they were able to do it against the Eagles. As banged up as the Eagles are I’m surprised that this game was close at all.
Panthers @ Cardinals 38-20
The Panthers actually look like a better team without Cam Newton. I guess they don’t need him to win after all.
NY Giants @ Buccaneers 32-31
The Giants won their first game of the season!!!!!!! Danny Jones was much more than expected in his first start as a Giant. He had two rushing touchdowns and two passing touchdowns. It was a bittersweet game to watch, Manning on the sidelines, and this young kid under center. Even though the Giants won this game they lost Saquan Barkley for the next 8 weeks due to a high ankle sprain. The game came down to a field goal to put the Bucs ahead. I just said over and over “miss it miss it miss it miss it” and he did and the Giants got the W.
Texans @ Chargers 27-20
It all came down to who had a better defense in this game and that seemed to be JJ Watt and the Texans as they were able to get to Philip Rivers more often, ultimately winning the game for the Texans.
Steelers @ 49ers 20-24
Jimmy G got off to a rough start against the Steelers, but was able to correct things and complete passes to his guys. It’s pretty amazing to see the Steelers sitting at 0-3 this season.
Saints @ Seahawks 33-27
I thought that the Saints would have struggled a lot more without Drew Brees under center but it seemed to be the Seahawks that struggled more. Teddy Bridgewater and Alvin Kamara came through for the Saints as the Seahawks took another loss.
Rams @ Browns 20-13
This game started out as a game of punts. They just kept giving the ball back to the other team for what seemed like the first half of the game. Finally, there were a few first downs and a couple of scores. It was amazing to see the Browns fans actually boo their team after the loss. I felt like saying, come on guys, did you forget where you were just last year…
Bears @ Redskins 31-15
After the NFL boasted about how they had a talk with their officiating team saying that the flags really shouldn’t be thrown on every play for holding… It seemed like there was a flag on every flippin play of the game. I think it ended up being something like a 9 hour game. I kid. Kinda. The Bears' defense is the real deal and now that Mitch is completing passes to his team they even got an offensive touchdown to boot. In other news, the Redskins are terrible.
WEEK 4
Thursday September 26th
Eagles (1-2) @ Packers (3-0) [8:20pm FOX/NFLN]
With the Eagles still all beat up and the Packers playing at home I’m going to have to pick the Packers to win this game.
Sunday September 29th
Titans (1-2) @ Falcons (1-2) [1pm CBS]
The Titans probably feel pretty bad for losing last week but I don’t think they are going to beat the Falcons at home. I’m going with Atlanta for the win.
Patriots (3-0) @ Bills (3-0) [1pm CBS]
Both teams are coming into this game without a loss. I predict that the Bills get their first loss of the season.
Chiefs (3-0) @ Lions (2-0-1) [1pm FOX]
The Lions haven’t lost a game yet this season. I think that changes in week 4. I’m picking the Chiefs to win this game.
Raiders (1-2) @ Colts (2-1) [1pm CBS]
I”m going to pick the Colts to win this game, for no other reason than they are home.
Chargers (1-2) @ Dolphins (0-3) [1pm CBS]
The Chargers have struggled in their first games, but this game should boost their confidence. I’m picking the Dolphins to lose this game.
Redskins (0-3) @ NY Giants (1-2) [1pm FOX]
Last year I wouldn’t pick the Giants to win until they had actually won again. I know that we don’t have Saquan Barkley for the next 8 weeks, which is really going to hurt our running game, and our wide receivers are also severely depleted. With all that being said, Danny Jones has sparked some hope into this Giants team and to the fans. I’m picking the Giants to win at home and send the Redskins to 0-4. GO GMEN!!!
Browns (1-2) @ Ravens (2-1) [1pm CBS]
I’m picking the Ravens to win at home.
Panthers (1-2) @ Texans (2-1) [1pm FOX]
The Panthers seem to be doing better without Cam Newton and he won’t be returning for this game. I’m still going to pick the Texans to win this game.
Buccaneers (1-2) @ Rams (3-0) [4:05pm FOX]
The Bucs are angry after losing to the Giants last week and are also probably looking for a new kicker. I’m still going to pick the Rams to win this game.
Seahawks (2-1) @ Cardinals (0-2-1) [4:05pm FOX]
I'm picking the Seahawks to win this game.
Vikings (2-1) @ Bears (2-1) [4:25pm CBS]
I’m picking the Bears to win this game but I wouldn’t be surprised if the Vikings won this one.
Jaguars (1-2) @ Broncos (0-3) [4:25pm CBS]
Ramsey doesn’t want to play for the Jags and hasn’t reported to the team since the birth of his second child. I need him to play because I’m starting the Jags defense. I think I’m going to pick the Broncos to get their first win.
Cowboys (3-0) @ Saints (2-1) [8:20pm NBC]
Man, I need the Saints to win this game but I don’t have a good feeling about it. I’m going to pick the Cowboys to win and hope I’m wrong.
Monday September 30th
Bengals (0-3) @ Steelers (0-3) [8:15pm ESPN]
I think that the Steelers get their first win of the season.
BYE: Jets, 49ers
GO GMEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for the edit Eric!
