Regular Season Week 8

I’m really looking forward to week eight of football. The Giants can’t lose this week; they have a bye. I didn’t do too badly on my picks as I went 10-5 last week, but I lost miserably on both teams in fantasy. Frickin’ Can’t Newton,  I am 5-2 and 3-4 in my fantasy leagues.
There were three shutouts in week 7 and for the first time in years there are no undefeated teams. It has been nice to NOT hear Joe Buck’s voice on Sunday, I guess baseball is useful for something.

Let’s recap week seven.

Chiefs @ Raiders 30-31
The Chiefs didn’t quite bounce back, but that ending! Wow. But the most talked about part of the game was when Marshawn Lynch ran onto the field from the sideline to break up a fight, grabbing the shirt of a ref and then pushing him to get to his cousin on the other team. Drama drama drama. Lynch was thrown out of the game and suspended one game as more punishment.

Buccaneers @ Bills 27-30
The Bills somehow managed to get another win, with the help of LeSean McCoy scoring not one but two touchdowns; his first and second of the season.

Panthers @ Bears 3-17
Bears quarterback only threw SEVEN passes and they STILL beat the Panthers. Flippin Cam Newton threw more to the Bears than his own teammates, and of course I started him in fantasy. I would have been better off not starting a QB at all… -5 points, thanks a lot Cam. AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH! In other news I wasn’t very fun to be around Sunday afternoon. Sorry to those who had to be graced by my presence.

Titans @ Browns 12-9 OT
So the Browns are winless. In other news, I guess that isn’t really news is it.

Saints @ Packers 26-17
The Packers are hurting without Aaron, clearly.

Jaguars @ Colts 27-0
The Jags SHUTOUT the Colts, that’s all that really needs to be said.

Cardinals @ Rams 0-33
In other news, the Rams SHUTOUT the Cards. When did the Rams get good, or when did the Cards get so bad?

Broncos @ Chargers 0-21
In other, other news, the Chargers SHUTOUT the Broncos. This is not a joke. It really happened. I know. I’m confused too.

Jets @ Dolphins 28-31
Jay Cutler cracked his ribs and in stepped Matt Moore to lead the Dolphins to victory over the J-E-T-S.

Ravens @ Vikings 16-24
I mean, I’m not surprised by this score, are you? The Vikings are pretty underrated this season and the Ravens are not even rated.

Cowboys @ 49ers 40-10
The 49ers were able to boast about losing by 3 points or less in 5 of their last 6 games but this was not the case on Sunday. So, San Francisco continues to be winless.

Seahawks @ NY Giants 24-7
First of all, the refs are atrocious. Second of all, if anything, that was an incomplete pass NOT A TOUCHDOWN, let alone a Seattle touchdown!!!!!!! Third of all, the Giants defense held the Seahawks for over 15 plays inside the 10 yard line and had another goal line stand!!!! Then of course, the offense couldn’t do anything and the defense was on the field again.  It was a hard game to watch. At least the Giants can’t lose next week…

Bengals @ Steelers 14-29
I don’t think that the Steelers are as good as everyone says they are, well I do think that Bell is.

Falcons @ Patriots 7-23
The Fog Bowl was anticlimactic. The Falcons never had a chance and I’m wondering how they made it to the Super Bowl last year.

Redskins @ Eagles 24-34
I wanted this game to end in a tie, obviously it didn’t.

WEEK 8

Thursday, October 26th

Dolphins (4-2) @ Ravens (3-4) [8:25pm CBS]
Call me crazy but I’m picking the Dolphins for the win.

Sunday, October 29th

Vikings (5-2) @ Browns (0-7) [9:30am NFL]
This game will be played in London so make sure you wake up early enough to grab your coffee and pancakes to watch the game.  I’m picking the Vikings to win.

Panthers (4-3) @ Buccaneers (2-4) [1pm CBS]
You would think that the Panthers could win this game, but after last week I’m going to pick the Buccaneers to win.

Raiders (3-4) @ Bills (4-2)  [1pm CBS]
I’m picking the Bills.

Bears (3-4) @ Saints (4-2) [1pm FOX]
I’m picking the Saints for the win.

Colts (2-5) @ Bengals (2-4) [1pm CBS]
I’m picking the Bengals.

Falcons (3-3) @ Jets (3-4) [1pm FOX]
I’m picking the Falcons to bounce back.

49ers (0-7) @ Eagles (6-1) [1pm FOX]
I’m picking the Eagles.

Chargers (3-4) @ Patriots (5-2) [1pm CBS]
I’m picking the Patriots but I would love to see the Chargers upset.

Texans (3-3) @ Seahawks (4-2) [4:05pm CBS]
I’m picking the Seahawks as long as the Texans still score a lot of points.

Cowboys (3-3) @ Redskins (3-3) [4:25pm FOX]
I’m picking the Redskins.

Steelers (5-2) @ Lions (3-3) [8:30pm NBC]
I’m picking the Steelers only because when I pick the Lions they lose. So by picking the Steelers am I actually picking the Lions to win?

Monday, October 30th
Broncos (3-3) @ Chiefs (5-2) [8:30pm ESPN]
I’m picking the Chiefs for the win.

BYE: Packers, Titans, Rams, NY Giants, Cardinals, Jaguars

GO GMEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for the edit Eric!!!!!

The Shenoa Report Regular Season Week 7 #theshenoareport

The Shenoa Report
October 19, 2017
Regular Season Week 7

Usually Thursday Night Football is a throw away game with the B team commentators. But lately Tony Romo has been one of the commentators for the Thursday night game and I must admit, I like his style. He’s very knowledgeable and real when it comes to his comments. Tony Romo, a better commentator than QB.
I failed miserably on my picks as I went 4-10 last week, BUT I am 5-1 and 3-3 in my fantasy leagues.

Let’s recap week six.

Eagles @ Panthers 28-23
Cam threw three interceptions; two of them were pick sixes. You can’t expect to win like that.

Packers @ Vikings 10-23
Aaron Rodgers is out for the rest of the season with a broken collarbone, therefore, the Packers season is also over. PS it was a legal hit.

Dolphins @ Falcons 20-17
THE FALCONS BLEW A 17 POINT LEAD AGAINST THE DOLPHINS!!!!!!! #smh #tryharder #superbowlrepeat

Patriots @ Jets 24-17
The Jets should have won this game. The refs are garbage. What’s a catch? I’m not even a Jets fan but wow. That was a touchdown.

Lions @ Saints 38-52
Fun fact. I started the Saints defense over the Giant defense in fantasy because, well the Giants. The Saints defense had 5 sacks, 3 interceptions, 2 fumble recoveries, 3 touchdowns, 7 tackles for loss, and 4 three and outs forced. BOOM! Otherwise they really messed up my pick, sorry Lions fans.

49ers @ Redskins 24-26
Did you know that the 49ers have lost 5 of their 6 games by 3points or less, yet they are still 0-6.  Ouch.

Bears @ Ravens 27-24 OT
Mitch helps Da Bears win in OT at Baltimore for the first time in a loooooong time.

Browns @ Texans 17-33
I mean, this shouldn’t have been a surprise. Browns lose again. Of course this was one of the four picks I got right.

Buccaneers @ Cardinals 33-38
AP gets traded to the Cardinals and Arizona is happily ever after. Peterson scored twice in his first game as a Cardinal.

Rams @ Jaguars 27-17
The Bumblebees killed the Jags. Another pick wrong. Yes I know.

Steelers @ Chiefs 19-13
I am so disappointed with the Chiefs. So disappointed.  But Bell is on my fantasy team so I wasn’t disappointed in his 179 rushing yards, yes please.

Chargers @ Raiders 17-16
Nick Novak, Chargers kicker, may have won the game, but it was the ones he missed prior that really hurt my fantasy team.

NY Giants @ Broncos 23-10
I stayed up and watched this entire game, because it may be the only one we win this season. It’s amazing what happens when McAdoo doesn’t call the plays and actually hands the job over to Mike Sullivan, the offensive coordinator.  Can you imagine what the Giants record would have been if this had happened from the start of the season?! They looked like a completely different team! Even with SIX of their starters out of the game! The defense looked great, being that they weren’t on the field for the majority of the game. Our offense also looked good, and we had a run game too! Proud of the GMEN this week!

Colts @ Titans 22-36
The Titans snapped an 11-game losing streak with this win. It didn’t look pretty but they finally got the job done.

WEEK 7

Thursday, October 19th

Chiefs (5-1) @ Raiders (2-4) [8:25pm CBS]
I’m picking the Chiefs to bounce back.

Sunday, October 22nd

Buccaneers (2-3) @ Bills (3-2) [1pm FOX]
I’m taking the Bills

Panthers (4-2) @ Bears (2-4) [1pm CBS]
I’m picking the Panthers

Titans (3-3) @ Browns (0-6)  [1pm CBS]
I’m going with the Titans

Saints (3-2) @ Packers (4-2) [1pm FOX]
I’m picking the Saints, I don’t think the Packers can make it without Aaron.

Jaguars (3-3) @ Colts (2-4) [1pm CBS]
I’m picking the Jaguars

Cardinals (3-3) @ Rams (4-2) [1pm FOX]
I’m picking the Rams

Jets (3-3) @ Dolphins (3-2) [1pm FOX]
I’m taking the Jets

Ravens (3-3) @ Vikings (4-2) [1pm CBS]
I’m picking the Vikings

Cowboys (2-3) @ 49ers (0-6) [4:05pm FOX]
I’m picking the Cowboys

Seahawks (3-2) @ NY Giants (1-5) [4:25pm CBS]
I’m picking the Giants, hopefully they play like they did last week.

Bengals (2-3) @ Steelers (4-2) [4:25pm CBS]
I’m picking the Steelers

Broncos (3-2) @ Chargers (2-4) [4:25pm CBS]
I’m picking the Broncos

Falcons (3-2) @ Patriots (4-2) [8:30pm NBC]
I’m picking the Patriots in this Super Bowl rematch.

Monday, October 23rd
Redskins (3-2) @ Eagles (5-1) [8:30pm ESPN]
I’m picking the Eagles but hoping the game ends in a tie.

BYE: Lions, Texans

The Shenoa Report Week 6 '17 #theshenoareport

The Shenoa Report
October 12, 2017
Regular Season Week 6

When I moved back to NY I was very excited that I could actually watch the Giants without having the Sunday Ticket or going to a bar (that’s the only way I could watch them in NC unless they were on primetime) BUT, because the Giants are soooooo bad I was stuck watching the Bills or the Jets this week. I should have taken it as a sign. I didn’t…  More on that later. Week 5 was full of disappointment and tears especially if you are a Giants fan.   I went 7-7 on my picks last week, and I am 4-1 and 2-3 in my fantasy leagues.

Let’s recap week five.

Patriots @ Buccaneers 19-14
The Patriots played more like the Patriots of last year and less like the Patriots of this year. But the Bucs did keep it interesting.

Panthers @ Lions 27-24
Sorry Dean, whenever I pick the Lions to win the opposite is true, but I really thought they would beat the Panthers especially after how they played last week, and Cam…
After Cam was in the spotlight between games, and not in a positive way, he was back to business on the field. (Last week Cam made an offhanded comment about women covering football, saying, “It’s funny to hear a female talk about routes. Like, it’s funny”. In related news Cam is no longer the face of Dannon. I wonder if he would find my little football blog “funny”… )

Bills @ Bengals 16-20
Just when you think the Bills are actually a good team they go and play Cincinnati and BLOW IT!

Chargers @ NY Giants 27-22
The Giants’ season is over. This game cost us OBJ who is out the rest of the season with a broken ankle, Harris who is out the rest of the season with a broken foot, Brandon Marshal who is out the rest of the season with a broken ankle, Shepard also left the game with an ankle injury, and Rogers-Cromartie got fed up and left the field so he’s suspended indefinitely. Thanks McA-DON’T (That’s a play on words McAdoo is the head coach of the Giants but it really pissing the season away by his judgment and play calling) …. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. The Giants season is officially over.

Jets @ Browns 17-14
At least the Browns are also 0-5… wait. The Jets QB, Josh McCown, who formerly played for the Browns before they cut him, now has a win in Cleveland. The Browns did have a heck of a touchdown catch after benching Kizer but it wasn’t enough to win the game.

49ers @ Colts 23-26 OT
Mike Pence, the Vice President, had a little protest of his own during this game. Knowing that he would leave when players knelt for the National Anthem, he decided to cost the taxpayers a quarter of a million dollars for his little stunt. Maybe Americans should be more outraged about that and not the kneeling during the anthem. #blacklivesmatter #getinformed #stopignorance Stepping off my soapbox now. Before the game they did honor Peyton Manning and unveiled a trophy in his honor! Miss you Peyton.
Is it just me or do these teams always go to overtime? Ok not always but the 49ers have already had 2 overtimes this season and the Colts have had 3!

Titans @ Dolphins 10-16
The Dolphins may have won this game but their troubles are far from over. After their win a video on social media came out showing Miami’s offensive line coordinator sniffing “white powder.” He has resigned.  Oh dear.

Cardinals @ Eagles 7-34
I hate to say it but the Eagles kinda look good this season.  A part of me just died a little bit.

Jaguars @ Steelers 30-9
The Jags are becoming legit, or the Steelers are becoming old and washed up. You decide.

Ravens @ Raiders 30-17
The Raiders are just not the same team without Derrick Carr… This was good news for the Ravens fans though.

Seahawks @ Rams 16-10
The Rams might have won this game if Jared Goff didn’t throw it to the other team so much. Interceptions defeats wins.

Packers @ Cowboys 35-31
Why did I pick the Packers to win this game? Aaron Rodgers. He gets it done.

Chiefs @ Texans 42-34
This game was pretty entertaining to watch, other than J.J. Watt leaving the game with another season ending injury. PS, so glad I drafted Deshaun Watson in the 10th round.

Vikings @ Bears 20-17
Sam Bradford found out he still wasn’t ready to play but back up Case Keenum led the Vikings to victory. Da Bears have a glimmer of hope with rookie QB Mitch Trubisky at the helm finally.

WEEK 6

Thursday, October 12th

Eagles (4-1) @ Panthers (4-1) [8:25pm CBS]
I’m going to pick the Eagles for the win but root for the Panthers.

Sunday, October 15th

Packers (4-1) @ Vikings (3-2) [1pm FOX]
I’m taking the Packers

Dolphins (2-2) @ Falcons (3-1) [1pm CBS]
I’m picking the Falcons

Patriots (3-2) @ Jets (3-2)  [1pm CBS]
I’m taking the Patriots over the Jets

Lions (3-2) @ Saints (2-2) [1pm FOX]
I’m still picking the Lions

49ers (0-5) @ Redskins (2-2) [1pm FOX]
I’m picking the Redskins

Bears (1-4) @ Ravens (3-2) [1pm FOX]
I’m picking the Ravens

Browns (0-5) @ Texans (2-3) [1pm CBS]
I’m taking the Texans

Buccaneers (2-2) @ Cardinals (2-3) [4:05pm FOX]
I’m picking the Bucs

Rams (3-2) @ Jaguars (3-2) [4:05pm FOX]
I’m picking the Jags

Steelers (3-2) @ Chiefs (5-0) [4:25pm CBS]
I’m going with the Chiefs

Chargers (1-4) @ Raiders (2-3) [4:25pm CBS]
I’m picking the Raiders. Carr is supposed to play this game even though he broke his back 2 weeks ago. It took Batman 5 months to heal from a broken back, but what do I know.

NY Giants (0-5) @ Broncos (3-1) [8:30pm NBC]
I’m picking the Broncos

Monday, October 16th
Colts (2-3) @ Titans (2-3) [8:30pm ESPN]
I’m picking the Colts, call me crazy.

BYE: Bills, Bengals, Cowboys, Seahawks

The Shenoa Report Regular Season Week 5 '17 #theshenoareport

The Shenoa Report
October 5, 2017
Regular Season Week 5

This past weekend my brother and his family were visiting from Germany. Needless to say, I did not watch a lot of football. I did, however, give my nephews a NY Giants football and watched part of the Giants game with my youngest nephew. (You’ve got to start them young, before they know what disappointment is.) I went 10-6 on my picks last week, and I am 3-1 and 2-2 in my fantasy leagues.

Let’s recap week four.

Bears @ Packers 14-35
I mean, this win shouldn’t have come as a surprise.

Saints @ Dolphins 20-0
Neither team looked good, even though the score says differently.

Bills @ Falcons 23-17
Holy upset batman! And the Bills have a better record than the Patriots!

Panthers @ Patriots 33-30
Speaking of the Patriots, two losses at HOME this season, and it’s only week 4…
Panthers, it was nice of you to show up and actually play this game.

Bengals @ Browns 31-7
I’ve learned my lesson, I’m no longer picking the Browns to win.

Rams @ Cowboys 35-30
YAY BUMBLEBEES!!! I mean, Rams!!!!! I got this pick wrong and am totally ok with it.

Lions @ Vikings 14-7
The Lions defense showed up and showed out, I guess that old saying is true, defenses win games.

Jaguars @ Jets 20-23 OT
It kills me that the Jets have a better record than the Giants. This win came in overtime with just 28 seconds to go.

Steelers @ Ravens 26-9
I somehow knew that the Ravens weren’t going to bounce back after their loss across the pond. I’m glad I have Bell on my fantasy team, as he had 2 touchdowns this game!

Titans @ Texans 14-57
Cam played so bad last week that I benched him and started Deshaun Watson at QB and boy am I glad I did!!!!! FIVE TOUCHDOWNS!!!!! Sorry Titans fans.

49ers @ Cardinals 15-18 OT
The Cardinals are terrible this year! It took them overtime to beat the even more terrible 49ers.

NY Giants @ Buccaneers 23-25
Thankfully my family was in town so I wasn’t able to watch this game in its entirety. I did see Eli rush for a touchdown, and that was pretty awesome. Even more awesome was “watching the game” with my 8 month old nephew. We cheered for a first down and a three and out. I didn’t bother explaining false hopes for a win, I mean, he’s just a baby, let him be happy for a few more years.

Eagles @ Chargers 26-24
It was a close game; I was rooting for the Chargers, oh well.

Raiders @ Broncos 10-16
The Raiders QB literally broke his back during this game.  Talk about a tough Denver defense.

Colts @ Seahawks 18-46
I feel like there was a flag on every play and the red challenge flag seemed to be thrown a dozen times. The game was terrible and looked as bad as the final score.

Redskins @ Chiefs 20-29
I’m just glad the Redskins didn’t win and Travis Kelsey didn’t score a lot. Kelsey was on my opponent’s team in fantasy. My favorite play was the last play of the game; Redskins trickery gave the Chiefs defense one last touchdown.

WEEK 5

Thursday, October 5th

Patriots (2-2) @ Buccaneers (2-1) [8:25pm CBS]
I’m picking the Pats, though it would be great if they lost.

Sunday, October 8th

Panthers (3-1) @ Lions (3-1) [1pm FOX]
I’m picking the Lions, sorry Dean.

Bills (3-1) @ Bengals (1-3) [1pm CBS]
I’m picking the Bills.

Chargers (0-4) @ NY Giants (0-4)  [1pm CBS]
Hah…. One team will be 0-5 after this game. I’m hoping it’s not the Giants. I’m going to pick them for the win… hesitantly. GO GMEN!

Jets (2-2) @ Browns (0-4) [1pm FOX]
I’m picking the Jets.

49ers (0-4) @ Colts (1-3) [1pm FOX]
I’m picking the Colts.

Titans (2-2) @ Dolphins (1-2) [1pm CBS]
I’m picking the Titans.

Cardinals (2-2) @ Eagles (3-1) [1pm FOX]
I’m picking the Eagles, and not happy about it.

Jaguars (2-2) @ Steelers (3-1) [1pm CBS]
I’m picking the Steelers.

Ravens (2-2) @ Raiders (2-2) [4:05pm CBS]
I’m picking the Ravens.

Seahawks (2-2) @ Rams (3-1) [4:05pm CBS]
I’m picking the Rams.

Packers (3-1) @ Cowboys (2-2) [4:25pm FOX]
I’m picking the Packers. Go Pack Go!

Chiefs (4-0) @ Texans (2-2) [8:30pm NBC]
I’m picking KC.

Monday, October 9th
Vikings (2-2) @ Bears (1-3) [8:30pm ESPN]
I’m picking the Vikings.

GO GMEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for the edit Eric!!!!!
