Regular Season Week 13

This week I am writing from the West Coast in Seahawks country. I am visiting my brother and his family for thanksgiving. My sister and parents are also here from NY and it’s very nice to have the family together. This past weekend was a very tough weekend for my family. My Uncle Jim, my father’s younger brother, passed away very unexpectedly. I am still in shock, confused, sad, and mad. My uncle was an amazing man. He was loving, caring, friendly, funny, witty, mischievous, … and the list goes on. I think the only thing we didn’t agree on was his football team, the Dallas Cowboys. I guess it’s only fitting that they would beat my NY Giants this weekend. I only wish he was around to rub it in. Needless to say football did not take precedent this weekend, and my dad and I were not able to watch any of the games together.
I also did horrible on my picks this past week going 6-8, but really, who would have thought the Rams would have beat the Bears and the Cardinals would dominate the Colts.
This week we will have 3 games on Thanksgiving, all on ABC, CBS, or NBC. I am looking forward to watching football with my dad more than ever Thursday. I wish you all a very Happy Thanksgiving, and please put all the family quarrels aside and love on one another. Cherish your family and friends not just tomorrow, but everyday because you never know when you’ll give that last hug.

Before we move into week 13 Let’s recap week 12.

Saints @ Falcons 17-13
The Falcons put up a fight but it wasn’t enough against the Saints.

Buccaneers @ Lions 24-21
This one shocked me. The Bucs are on a roll.

Vikings @ Packers 26-26 OT
My roommate was NOT happy about this outcome.

Panthers @ Dolphins 20-16
This was a good, close game. The Panthers have won 7 in a row, pretty impressive if you ask me.

Bears @ Rams 21-42
Holy bumblebees batman! The Rams pretty much made the Bears look more like teddy bears than anything ferocious or fierce.

Jaguars @ Texans 13-6
I am really not surprised that that the Texans lost.

Chargers @ Chiefs 41-38
The Chargers shocked the heck out of the Chiefs, and the world.

Steelers @ Browns 27-11
Poor Brownies.

Jets @ Ravens 3-19
At least the Giants aren’t the only pathetic NY team in the NFL.

Titans @ Raiders 23-19
It’s nice to see that Fitzpatrick is an asset to the Titans.

Cowboys @ Giants 24-21
Well the Giants season is officially over. Maybe next year you’ll do a little less trash talking (or no trash talking) and make your statements ON THE FIELD! Disappointed, very disappointed.

Colts @ Cardinals 11-40
On any given day, any given team can win… this was not the Colts day to win… obviously.

Broncos @ Patriots 31-34
I’m sorry Broncos; you blew a 24 point lead… you deserved to lose. BUT that tackle, or should I say, failed attempt to tackle by Brady was epic, and the highlight of the game in my opinion.

49ers @ Redskins 27-6
This score didn’t surprise me one bit.

WEEK 13
Thursday November 28th
Packers (5-5-1) @ Lions (6-5) [12:30pm FOX]
I’m picking the Lions for the win on Thanksgiving for the first time ever I’m pretty sure.

Raiders (4-7) @ Cowboys (6-5) [4:30pm CBS]
I’d like to see the Raiders win but I’m going to have to pick the Cowboys.

Steelers (5-6) @ Ravens (5-6) [8:30pm NBC]
Rooting for and picking the Ravens for the win.

Sunday December 1st

Cardinals (7-4) @ Eagles (6-5) [1pm FOX]
Picking the Cardinals to win.

Bears (6-5) @ Vikings (2-8-1) [1pm FOX]
I’m taking Da Bears for the win.

Buccaneers (3-8) @ Panthers (8-3) [1pm FOX]
Picking the Panthers for the win but I wouldn’t be surprised if the Bucs pulled off an upset.

Titans (5-6) @ Colts (7-4) [1pm CBS]
I’d like to see the Titans win, but I think after the embarrassment of last week the Colts won’t drop another game.

Dolphins (5-6) @ Jets (5-6) [1pm CBS]
I’d like to pick the Jets but after the Dolphins played last week it could really be anyone’s game.  I asked my nephew who would win but there was no comment.  I guess I’ll pick the Jets for the win.

Patriots (8-3) @ Texans (2-9) [1pm CBS]
The upsets of upsets would be the Texans winning this game… I’ll have to pick the Pats to win.

Jaguars (2-9) @ Browns (4-7) [1pm CBS]
I’m picking the Browns to win (I haven’t done that in awhile.)

Falcons (2-9) @ Bills (4-7) [4:05pm FOX]
I’m taking the Bills at home.

Rams (5-6) @ 49ers (7-4) [4:05pm FOX]
I’d like to see the Rams upset the 9ers but I’ll have to pick San Francisco for the win.

Broncos (9-2) @ Chiefs (9-2) [4:25pm CBS]
This should be a close game. I’m going to pick the Broncos to win though.

Bengals (7-4) @ Chargers (5-6) [4:25pm CBS]
I’m taking the Chargers at home even though I probably shouldn’t.

Giants (4-7) @ Redskins (3-8) [8:30pm NBC]
Hey, both of their seasons are over… I’m still going to pick the Giants to win, even though my heart isn’t in it anymore.

Monday December 2nd

Saints (9-2) @ Seahawks (10-1) [8:40pm ESPN]
This game should be epic. I’m taking the Seahawks for the win.

There are NO BYEs this week.

Regular Season Week 12

This weekend I’ll be in Tacoma Washington with my family. I am beyond words excited about this. Growing up in NY my dad and I would watch football together every Sunday. I am stoked to be able to watch football with him again. It sucks not being able to watch the games together each week so we make sure to call each other every Sunday and talk about the games. Now that he’s retired I also get a call on most Thursday and Monday nights as well. We love football. This past weekend was another great weekend for football watching. The Giants are 1½ games out of first place in their division, the Panthers beat the Patriots, and the Broncos upset the Chiefs perfect season.  I went 10-5 in picks.

Let’s recap week 11.

Week 10

8-6
Week 11
13-1
10-5

Colts @ Titans 30-27
Well if you’d only watched the first half of this game you would have sworn the Titans would win…. But, unfortunately for the Titans, there are 2 halves in football.

Falcons @ Buccaneers 28-41
The Bucs cannon operators must have blisters on their hands for going so long without firing the cannons at all to firing them tons these past two weeks.

Lions @ Steelers 27-37
Lions, I’m disappointed. But I can kinda understand, it must have been hard to concentrate on anything on that field with the Steelers in their throwback uniforms. Not only were they hideous, I couldn’t figure out if I wanted honey or if they had escaped from jail….

Redskins @ Eagles 16-24
Frankly I’m shocked.  I just hope the Redskins play like this when they play the Giants in the next few weeks.

Cardinals @ Jaguars 27-14
The most memorable part of this game was when a Jag threw a fistful of dreaded hair onto the ground after a tackle…. It’s as gross as it sounds.

Jets @ Bills 14-37
Well that’ll teach me to talk crap about the Bills…  I hope the Jets field trip to Dave and Busters was worth the loss.

Raiders @ Texans 28-23
The Texans are terrible.

Ravens @ Bears 20-23 OT
This game was weather delayed so much that I was able to watch the Giants game and this game… this game started at 1 and the Giants started at 4. It was a good, muddy game that ended the way I wanted it to.

Browns @ Bengals 20-41
 Not surprised.

Chargers @ Dolphins 16-20
Oh the inconsistent Chargers.

Packers @ Giants 13-27
Dare I say the Giants looked good?! This was a tough game to watch being that my roommate is a Packers fan. She’s already blamed me for Aaron Rodgers being out, which I take complete responsibility for. I knew “Football Shenoa” shouldn’t be in the same place as Michelle. (even though she assured me she didn’t care and her team was going to lose anyway.) I went to my good friends house to watch the game and had a great time.
Despite Eli’s interception, the rest of the game was pretty amazing. My favorite play was the JPP pick 6.  Wow! Did you know he called the play in the huddle? He said he was going to pick the ball …. And then he did.

Vikings @ Seahawks 20-41
Nothing to report here, the Vikings are horrible …

49ers @ Saints 20-23
Great game. Nail biter, and a last second field goal.  Brees is clutch.

Chiefs @ Broncos 17-27
I just knew that the Broncos would upset the Chiefs perfect season.

Patriots @ Panthers 20-24
I’m really sick and tired of all the talk this game is getting. My opinion, Brady underthrew the ball on the final play, Gronk didn’t even fight to go for the poorly thrown ball, and so it was intercepted. GAME OVER. PS Cam is a beast. I was glad to see the Panthers win.

WEEK 11
Thursday November 21st

Saints (8-2) @ Falcons (2-8) [8:25pm NFLN]
The Saints got this.

Sunday November 24th

Buccaneers (2-8) @ Lions (6-4) [1pm FOX]
Taking the Lions.

Vikings (2-8) @ Packers (5-5) [1pm FOX]
Picking the Packers.

Panthers (7-3) @ Dolphins (5-5) [1pm FOX]
Going with the Panthers.

Bears (6-4) @ Rams (4-6) [1pm FOX]
I could see the Rams winning this game. Its not likely but I can still see it. But for picks I’m taking DA BEARS.

Jaguars (1-9) @ Texans (2-8) [1pm CBS]
We could call this game the toilet bowl. The worst of the worst are playing each other.  I’ll have to take the Texans

Chargers (4-6) @ Chiefs (9-1) [1pm CBS]
Picking the Chiefs.

Steelers (4-6) @ Browns (4-6) [1pm CBS]
I’d love to see the Browns win this game but I’m going to have to pick the Steelers. I hope I’m wrong.

Jets (5-5) @ Ravens (4-6) [1pm CBS]
I’m going to have to pick the Ravens.

Titans (4-6) @ Raiders (4-6) [4:05pm CBS]
I’m picking the Titans.

Cowboys (5-5) @ Giants (4-6) [4:25pm FOX]
Can we go 5 in a row? I think so. Go GMEN!!!!!!!  Super excited that I’ll be able to watch this game with my dad!

Colts (7-3) @ Cardinals (6-4) [4:05pm CBS]
I think that the Colts will win this one.

Broncos (9-1) @ Patriots (7-3) [8:30pm NBC]
I’m picking the Broncos. How nice it would be to see the Pats drop 2 in a row.

Monday November 25th

49ers (6-4) @ Redskins (3-7) [8:40pm ESPN]
 I’m picking the 9ers.

If you are a Bills, Bengals, Eagles, or Seahawks fan you’re in luck…. Your team won’t lose this week!

Regular Season Week 11

This past weekend was a fabulous weekend for football watching. I had a three-day weekend so I made the 5-hour trip out to Jacksonville to visit some awesome people, you’d better believe there was a lot of football watching! I didn’t do well on my picks at 8-6 but really, who thought that the Rams would beat the Colts and that the Eagles would beat the Packers? It took 10 weeks of football, but we finally don’t have any winless team in the NFL. KC is still perfect but we’re heading into week 11 and I think that’s about to change.

Let’s recap week 10.

Week 1
2012 Season

9-7
2013 Season

10-6
Week 2
7-9
13-3
Week 3

Week 5

9-6
Week 8
10-4
11-2
Week 9
11-3
8-5
Week 10
6-8
8-6

Redskins @ Vikings 27-34
The Vikings stunned the Redskins and won their first game in the USA this season! Thanks Vikings, now the Giants aren’t in last place in the NFC East.

Eagles @ Packers 27-13
I’m shocked actually. I guess the Packers really are banged up.

Rams @ Colts 38-8
Yay bumblebees!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Seahawks @ Falcons 33-10
Atlanta just isn’t good this year….

Jaguars @ Titans 29-27
The Jags get their first win of the season. Sorry Abby.

Bills @ Steelers 10-23
I don’t even feel sorry for the Bills anymore… this just seems to be what they do.

Raiders @ NY Giants 20-24
WOOOOOOOOOOOOO WHOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! 3 in a row!!!!!! It wasn’t pretty, but a win is a win! Best part of this game, was watching it with my good friend Kyle. We go way back to the first time the Giants played the Pats in the Super Bowl. It was so good to watch football with him again! GO GMEN!!!!!

Bengals @ Ravens 17-20 OT
The Ginger couldn’t get it done.

Lions @ Bears 21-19
Hey, hey Lions!

Panthers @ 49ers 10-9
Way-to-go Panthers! Keep up the good work!

Texans @ Cardinals 24-27
Texans, making the Cardinals look good, since 2013

Broncos @ Chargers 28-20
Peyton got beat up but the Broncos still prevailed!

Cowboys @ Saints 17-49
HAH! This was an awesome game to watch! Thanks New Orleans!

Dolphins @ Buccaneers 19-22
The cannons BAH BOOM BAH BOOMed more than once, and the Bucs got their first win of the season too! I think it was because the Bucs head coach, Greg Schiano, took the time before the game to pluck a handful of grass from the field and throw it into the air. Obviously he thought the wind was in his favor. Either that, or he thought he was playing golf. Don’t worry, it didn’t make any sense to me either, but it made me laugh.  A Lot.

WEEK 11
Thursday November 14th

Colts (6-3) @ Titans (4-5) [8:25pm NFLN]
Picking the Colts.

Sunday November 17th

Falcons (2-7) @ Buccaneers (1-8) [1pm FOX]
Call me crazy but I think that the Bucs can pull off 2 in a row!

Lions (6-3) @ Steelers (3-6) [1pm FOX]
Picking the Lions and hoping Megatron has a huge game!

Redskins (3-6) @ Eagles (5-5) [1pm FOX]
Taking the Redskins, the Eagles haven’t won at home yet this season.

Cardinals (5-4) @ Jaguars (1-8) [1pm FOX]
I don’t think that the Jags can win 2 in a row. I’m picking the Cardinals.

Jets (5-4) @ Bills (3-7) [1pm CBS]
Picking the Jets.  At this point I’d be more surprised at a Bills win than a Jets win.

Raiders (3-6) @ Texans (2-7) [1pm CBS]
I’m picking the Texans only because we kinda put  a hurtin on Pryor last week.

Ravens (4-5) @ Bears (5-4) [1pm CBS]
Taking the Bears.

Browns (4-5) @ Bengals (6-4) [1pm CBS]
I’m hoping for a Browns win but I’m going to pick the Bengals.

Chargers (4-5) @ Dolphins (4-5) [4:05pm CBS]
I’m picking the Chargers.

Packers (5-4) @ Giants (3-6) [4:25pm FOX]
Can we go 4 in a row? I think so. Go GMEN!!!!!!! PS Green Bay picked up Matt Flynn… again. That’s like Kerry Collins going back to the Giants… Ouch.

Vikings (2-7) @ Seahawks (9-1) [4:25pm FOX]
Taking the Seahawks

49ers (6-3) @ Saints (7-2) [4:25pm FOX]
Picking the Saints.

Chiefs (9-0) @ Broncos (8-1) [8:30pm NBC]
I think that the Broncos are going to break the Chiefs perfect record. Picking Denver for the win.

Monday November 18th

Patriots (7-2) @ Panthers (6-3) [8:40pm ESPN]
Hoping and picking the Panthers for the win.

If you are a Cowboys or Rams fan you’re in luck…. Your team won’t lose this week!

The Shenoa Report

Regular Season Week 10

I can’t believe that we are already over half way through the season. Is it just me, or is the drama in the NFL becoming more frequent and Jersey Shore like? It’s starting to sound like an episode of Glee! I mean we’ve heard about murders, arrests, drug abuse, bullying….. It’s getting a little ridiculous. At this point I’d rather hear that Bret Favre is coming back to play football in the NFL than another grown ass man acting like a fool… wait, isn’t that the same thing? Bad example. Anyway, to the guys in the NFL, how about you grow up and not just act like men, but BE men, AND be good role models for those who look up to you. (Stepping off my soap box now)
With training this past weekend I didn’t get to watch much football. But, I learned a lot and my classroom will benefit from it! I didn’t do well on my picks at 8-5 but really, who thought that the Jets would beat the Saints and that the Eagles back-up QB would throw 7 touchdowns against the Raiders?

Let’s recap week 9.

Week 1
2012 Season

9-7
2013 Season

Week 2
7-9

Week 8
10-4
11-2
Week 9
11-3
8-5

Bengals (6-2) @ Dolphins (3-4) 20-22 OT
Driving out to training I had the game on the XM radio and I was super surprised that the Dolphins dominated the game, and that it went into over time AND that it was a safety in the end zone that ended it in over time. Poor Ginger.

Falcons (2-5) @ Panthers (4-3) 10-34
It pains me that the Panthers are better than the Giants, but for Panthers fans I suppose it’s about time.

Vikings (1-6) @ Cowboys (4-4) 23-27
It was another heart breaking loss for the Vikings.

Saints (6-1) @ Jets (4-4) 20-26
I’ve gotta hand it to the Jets, after coming off of that embarrassing loss they really bounced back. I must admit I’m still in shock over their win.

Titans (3-4) @ Rams (3-5) 28-21
The Rams seem to be one of those team who are actually fairly good but just seem to lose close games… kinda like the Panthers.  With the Titans win I know at least my cousin is happy!

Chiefs (8-0) @ Bills (3-5) 23-13
This ending didn’t surprise me at all. I’m just so happy for Alex Smith, after all he went through in San Francisco last season it’s nice to know he’s appreciated and flourishing in KC

Chargers (4-3) @ Redskins (2-5) 24-30 OT
I was able to watch the opening drive of this game on my lunch break during training. Even though the Redskins had a long opening drive they didn’t come away with any points so I was confident in the Chargers… thanks for letting me down San Diego.

Eagles (3-5) @ Raiders (3-4) 49-20
Wow, Nick Foles, the backup QB for the Eagles threw 7 TDs and no interceptions. I did NOT see that coming.

Buccaneers (0-7) @ Seahawks (7-1) 24-27 OT
Amazed that it took overtime for the Seahawks to take the win. I thought this game would’ve been a blowout…

Ravens (3-4) @ Browns (3-5) 18-24
Yeah Brownies!!!!!

Steelers (2-5) @ Patriots (6-2) 31-55
This was the only game that I could have listened to on the drive home from Raleigh… I love, love, LOVE football but even I couldn’t listen to that mess.

Colts (5-2) @ Texans (2-5) 27-24
Another close game… poor Texans.

Bears (4-3) @ Packers (5-2) 27-20
I have to apologize to all the Packers fans for Aaron Rodgers. My roommate and I started watching this game and I saw the caterpillar growing on Aarons lip again and I yelled at the tv to get that nonsense off the field. I didn’t intend for Aaron to get hurt and be out the rest of the game, and for the next 3-5 weeks, I just wanted him to shave his face!

WEEK 10
Thursday November 7th

Redskins (3-5) @ Vikings (1-7) [8:25pm NFLN]
Hoping, praying, and picking the Vikings for the win tonight, though I’m not sure why.

Sunday November 10th

Eagles (4-5) @ Packers (5-3) [1pm FOX]
With Rodgers out and Foles on point this should be a tight game. I’m going to pick the Packers for the win though, only because it goes against everything I know and love to pick the Eagles.

Rams (3-6) @ Colts (6-2) [1pm FOX]
I’d love to see the Rams upset the Colts… that’d be the best. But I’m picking the Colts for the win.

Seahawks (8-1) @ Falcons (2-6) [1pm FOX]
Picking the Seahawks for the win.

Jaguars (0-8) @ Titans (4-4) [1pm CBS]
Abby, I’m going with your team for the win! Picking the Titans.

Bills (3-6) @ Steelers (2-6) [1pm CBS]
I’d love to see the Bills win, and I think they could if they can get pressure to Big Ben. Picking the Bills, but mostly because I can’t stand the Steelers.

Raiders (3-5) @ NY Giants (2-6) [1pm CBS]
Can we win 3 in a row?! Let’s hope so! I’m picking the Giants for the win.

Bengals (6-3) @ Ravens (3-5) [1pm CBS]
Picking the Bengals over the Ravens.

Lions (5-3) @ Bears (5-3) [1pm FOX]
This should be a good game.  I’m taking the Lions, even though they’ve let me down in the past.

Panthers (5-3) @ 49ers (6-2) [4:05pm FOX]
I’d love to see the Panthers pound the 9ers but I’m going to have to pick San Francisco for the win.

Texans (2-6) @ Cardinals (4-4) [4:25pm CBS]
I’m taking the Cardinals.

Broncos (7-1) @ Chargers (4-4) [4:25pm CBS]
Picking the Broncos for the win. Even though they won’t have their head coach.

Cowboys (5-4) @ Saints (6-2) [8:30pm NBC]
Saints, don’t let me down! I’m picking you… play tough!!!!

Monday November 11th

Dolphins (4-4) @ Buccaneers (0-8) [8:40pm ESPN]
I’m picking the Bucs to get their first win…  Crazy I know.

If you are a Patriots, Jets, Browns, or Chiefs fan you’re in luck…. Your team won’t lose this week!

BYE: Patriots, Jets, Browns, Chiefs
