Regular Season Week 6

It was a great weekend for football; at least it was if you are a Giants fan. I actually didn’t get to watch any of the games this weekend but I was able to watch the highlights. You see have this friend who is amazingly awesome and practically perfect in everyway, except for one thing… He doesn’t like football!!!!!!! So when we spend time together football isn’t a part of it and I picked him over football this weekend.  GASP! I know. Don’t worry I was able to steal away and listen to the Giants game on my phone (Said friend also doesn’t own a tv or have the internet).
My picks were 9-5 this past week. Not too shabby if you ask me.
Lets recap week 5.

Cardinals @ Rams 3-17
I could have sworn I picked the Rams to win this game but in reading my report last week I had picked the Cardinals. Silly Shenoa.

Browns @ NY Giants 27-41
As I said before I spent the weekend with my friend in Charleston. He works the night shift so I kind of got on his sleeping schedule. I woke up Sunday afternoon a little after 3pm in a panic. I didn’t know where I was, and then looking at the clock I realized I’d slept through half the Giants game. (Thankfully before I fell asleep I remembered to put my #10 Manning jersey on in preparation for the game) To make matters worse I couldn’t find my phone. When I finally found it I had a bunch of text messages regarding the game and then a wave of anxiousness flooded over me because I thought the Giants were going to lose to the Browns. I pulled up ESPN Scorecenter and hesitantly checked the scores. When I saw that the Giants had taken the lead I then found the live stream of the game and laid on the floor and listened to the rest of it. I was excited to hear that Cruz had three touchdowns and Bradshaw had a record 200 yards rushing. I’m actually glad that I missed the first half especially the first ten minutes of the game. Watching the “highlights” was enough to make me queasy. Anyway, WOOOT WOOOT GMEN!

Dolphins @ Bengals 17-13
Well the Bengals could have won this game if Mr. Dalton hadn’t thrown 2 picks. The last one came with less than two minutes left in the game and gave the Dolphins the win.

Ravens  @ Chiefs 9-6
This game may have been the most talked about game on sports radio this week. Apparently the Chiefs fans cheered when Matt Cassel was taken out of the game due to a head injury.  The Chiefs players are furious about the lack of class with their fans. Eric Winston, Chiefs offensive tackle, was most vocal about it. Cassel was intercepted twice and also lost two fumbles, so he wasn’t having a good day and fans took notice. This does say a lot about the Ravens defense too, but Chiefs fans obviously didn’t see it that way. Honestly, I thought this game would have been a blowout. Instead there were no touchdowns only field goals that lead the Ravens over the Chiefs.

Eagles @ Steelers 14-16
Vick has moved on from interceptions to fumbles and inevitably it cost him the game. Keep up the good work Vick!

Packers @ Colts 27-30
Seriously did not see this win coming.  They are calling Luck the comeback kid. I feel this nickname should be reserved for Eli but then again I’m biased when it comes to such things. I’ve got to hand it to the Colts though who were down 21-3 at the half and came back to win the game.

Falcons @ Redskins 24-17
The Falcons improve to 5-0 and knocked RG3 out of the game.  Redskins backup quarterback Kirk Cousins looked promising until he threw two interceptions in the last two minutes of the game giving the Falcons the win.

Seahawks @ Panthers 16-12
Poor Panthers, poor, poor, Panthers. Cam was supposed to turn this team around but it’s not looking so bright for Carolina and their fans.

Bears @ Jaguars 41-3
Pretty sure the Jags didn’t even show up to this game. Maybe they thought it was an away game?

Broncos @ Patriots 21-31
The Brady Manning saga continues. But it wasn’t Peyton’s fault they lost the game. He threw 3 touchdowns to Brady’s one. They could have even won the game had McGahee held onto the ball at the end of the game, instead he fumbled giving the Pats the win.

Bills @ 49ers 3-45
There’s not much to say about this game other than the 49ers walloped the Bills. No surprise there.

Titans @ Vikings 7-30
I know I’ve said it before but I’ll say it again, the Vikings are really looking legit this year. There’s a McNabb and Favre joke in there somewhere.

Chargers @ Saints 24-31
The Saints finally got a win and Brees broke another record by throwing a TD pass in 48 consecutive games. The record was formally held by Johnny Unitas at 47.  The Chargers could have won this game but had too many costly turnovers.

Texans @ Jets 23-17
Well the Jets came closer than I expected but still lost to the Texans. They could have even come back to win the game but Sanchez was intercepted with under 2 minutes to go in the game.  The crowd still chants TEBOW!

WEEK 6

Thursday October 11th

Steelers [2-2]  @ Titans [1-4] (8:20pm NFLN)
As much as I’d love to see the Titans win this game I don’t think it’s going to happen. I’m going to have to pick the Steelers though it pains me to do so and I hope I’m wrong.

Sunday October 14th

Chiefs [1-4] @ Buccaneers [1-3] (1pm CBS)
The Bucs are coming off their bye week and should be refreshed and ready to go. The Chiefs are coming off a tough loss and are desperate for a win. Who do I pick…. I’m going with the Bucs.

Colts [2-2]  @ Jets [2-3]  (1pm CBS)
My prediction is the Jets will win… if they put Tebow in for the entire game. Otherwise the Colts will win.

Bengals [3-2]  @ Browns [0-5]   (1pm CBS)
I’d really like to see the Browns win this game but they fall apart too easily so I’m going to have to pick the Bengals to win this game.

Raiders [1-3] @ Falcons [5-0] (1pm CBS)
The Raiders are coming off their bye week but I don’t think it’s going to be enough to beat the Falcons. I’m picking Atlanta to win this game.

Lions [1-3]   @ Eagles [3-2]   (1pm FOX)
The Lions are also coming off their bye week and I hope they’ve got it together enough to beat the Eagles. Don’t let me down Lions, I’m picking you to win this game, mostly because I can’t stand to pick the Eagles to win.

Rams [3-2]  @ Dolphins [2-3] (1pm FOX)
This should be a good close game. I’m picking the Rams even though I should pick the Dolphins because of home field advantage.

Cowboys  [2-2] @ Ravens [4-1]   (1pm FOX)
Dear Ravens, Your wins thus far have been far too close for comfort so I ask you this week to win and win BIG. PS I’m picking the Ravens to win this game.

Bills [2-3] @ Cardinals [4-1] (4:05pm CBS)
Until the Bills start to show up to the games I’m going to have to pick the Cardinals. Though I do have to tell you that during the preseason my uncle, mom, and I had picked the Bills to win this game.

Patriots [3-2] @ Seahawks [3-2] (4:05pm CBS)
I’d love to see the Seahawks win this game. I’m not going to pick them to win because whenever I pick against the Pats they win. So I figure if I pick the Pats to win this game they’ll lose.

Giants [3-2] @ 49ers [4-1] (4:25pm FOX)
This is the game I’ve been dreading since the preseason. I know the Giants can win this game. In making my preseason picks with my uncle and mom I picked the Giants to win, the others picked the Giants to lose this game. Well I’m not changing my pick. I’m picking the GMEN to win!!!!!!!!! (You may think I’m delusional and I’m ok with this)

Vikings [4-1]  @ Redskins [2-3]  (4:25pm FOX)
Man, I’ve got to take the Vikings to win.

Packers [2-3]  @ Texans [5-0]   (8:20pm NBC)
I think the Packers are going to win this one.

Monday October 15th

Broncos [2-3] @ Chargers [3-2]    (8:30pm ESPN)
I’d like to see the Broncos win this one. Both teams are coming off horrible losses. I’m taking the Broncos.

BYE WEEK: PANTHERS, BEARS, JAGUARS, SAINTS

Thanks for the edit Mom!

GOOOOOOOOOOOOO GMEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
