Regular Season Week 13
Happy week 13. Historically lucky for me. This year, we’ll see.
Happy Thanksgiving, a few days late. I hope it was a good one! I had almost finished this report Thursday morning but I still had dinner rolls to make and those take priority in our family. Just ask, I wouldn’t have been allowed at the family thanksgiving without the dinner rolls. So bread won out on Thursday. Then, I wasn’t excited to talk about the Eagles game Friday so I procrastinated posting this report until now.
In fantasy football land I am fighting to not get eliminated in one league and in the other I’m fighting for playoff positioning. I am playing the number one seed in each league. Cool. To make things fun on the home front I am playing the love of my life in hopes of a playoff spot. It’s not going well, I’ll most likely be eliminated after the one o’clock games. I bounced back somewhat in fantasy, winning in one league, losing in the other. Current ranking (3rd) CMC Ya Next Season 7-5, (6th) Cursed 5-7.
Also, I went 10-4 in picks.
Let’s jump into the recap!
Bills @ Texans 19-23
If you are a Bills fan, this wasn’t a fun game to watch. Josh Allen was sacked, a lot. The Bills did not look good, but they made the Texans look really good.
Fun fact (or not so fun fact): Josh Allen’s eight sacks in this game marked a career high for him.
Colts @ Chiefs 20-23 OT
The Chiefs rallied from an 11 point fourth quarter deficit to beat the Colts in overtime. Patrick Mahomes threw for a season high 352 yards, connecting often with Rashee Rice, while the Colts offense stalled on offense late in the game. The Colts led most of the game and the Chiefs didn’t take their first lead until the game winning field goal in OT.
Fun fact: This was the Chiefs first one score victory of the 2025 season, breaking a streak of close losses.
Steelers @ Bears 28-31
Caleb Williams had three touchdown passes and the Bears defense forced two turnovers that set up 14 points, while Mason Rudolph, filling in for the injured Aaron Rodgers, kept Pittsburgh close with a strong first half. Chicago scored 17 unanswered points after trailing 21–14, then held off a late Steelers rally to secure their fourth straight win.
Fun fact: With this victory, the Bears improved to 8–3, marking their best record through 11 games since 2018.
Patriots @ Bengals 26-20
The Patriots rallied from a 10 point deficit to beat the Bengals, extending their winning streak to nine games. Drake Maye threw for 294 yards and a touchdown, while cornerback Marcus Jones' pick-six in the second quarter shifted momentum. Patriots kicker Andy Borregales was perfect on four field goals, including a clutch 52 yarder in the final two minutes to seal the win.
Fun fact: With this victory, the Patriots became the first NFL team to reach 10 wins in 2025, improving to 6–0 on the road.
Jets @ Ravens 10-23
The Ravens stomped the Jets, powered by two third-quarter rushing touchdowns from Derrick Henry. Lamar Jackson threw for 153 yards while the Ravens defense forced two turnovers and held the Jets to just 287 total yards. John Metchie III scored the Jets lone touchdown in the second quarter, but Baltimore’s 17 unanswered points after halftime sealed their fifth straight win.
Fun fact: The Ravens became the first team in NFL history to rebound from a 1–5 start with a five game winning streak.
Seahawks @ Titans 30-24
Sam Darnold threw for 244 yards and two touchdowns and Jaxon Smith-Njigba had eight catches for 167 yards, including a 63-yard score that swung momentum in Seattle’s favor. The Titans rallied late with two touchdowns, but the Seahawks held on to improve to 8–3 and strengthen their NFC playoff position.
Fun fact: Jaxon Smith-Njigba broke the Seahawks single-season receiving yards record (1,313), surpassing DK Metcalf’s mark set in 2020.
Vikings @ Packers 6-23
Filling in for the injured Josh Jacobs, Emanuel Wilson had 107 rushing yards and two touchdowns in his first NFL start. The Packers defense dominated, sacking QB J.J. McCarthy five times and forcing three turnovers, while Minnesota managed only two long field goals. The Vikings generated just four net yards in the second half.
Fun fact: Emanuel Wilson became the first undrafted Division II rookie running back to rush for 100+ yards in his first NFL start.
NY Giants @ Lions 27-34 OT
Guys. It’s a joke amongst Giants fans. “How will we lose this game?”, is the question we ask every game. So, how did we lose this one? I could just copy and paste the reason from last week, or the week before, or the week before, or the week, because it’s the same reason every week. Defensive Coordinator, Shane Bowen. We led the ENTIRE GAME. The defense played soft in the 4th quarter allowing the Lions to come back to tie the game sending it to overtime. Then, ON THE FIRST PLAY OF OVERTIME Jahmyr Gibbs took the rock 69 yards to the endzone. The Giants had a chance, but Jameis Winston’s magic ran out and we lost another heart breaker.
Fun fact: Gibbs’ 264 scrimmage yards were the most by a Lions player in a single game since Barry Sanders in 1997.
Jaguars @ Cardinals 27-24 OT
This game also went into overtime. Trevor Lawrence threw three touchdown passes despite committing four turnovers. The Cardinals tied the game in the final seconds of regulation, but Jacksonville’s resilience carried them to their seventh win of the season.
Fun fact: This was the Jaguars second overtime victory in four weeks, highlighting their knack for late-game drama.
Browns @ Raiders 24-10
Shedeur Sanders got a W in his first NFL start. Sanders threw for 209 yards including a 66 yard touchdown to Dylan Sampson, while Myles Garrett anchored the defense with three of the team’s 10 sacks. The Raiders struggled offensively, converting just 4 of 17 third downs and committing 13 penalties for 109 yards.
Fun fact: Sanders snapped a historic streak — he became the first Browns quarterback since 1995 to win his NFL debut, ending a run of 17 straight Cleveland QBs who lost their first career start.
Falcons @ Saints 24-10
The Falcons snapped a five game losing streak with this win over the Saints. Kirk Cousins threw for 199 yards and two touchdowns, including a 49 yard pass to Darnell Mooney in the fourth quarter. The Falcons defense held the Saints to just three points after halftime, while New Orleans missed two field goals and failed on multiple fourth down attempts.
Fun fact: This was the Falcons first victory inside the Caesars Superdome since 2021, ending a four-year drought.
Eagles @ Cowboys 21-24
The Cowboys stunned the Eagles (and everyone else) after rallying from a 21 point first half deficit. Dak Prescott threw for 354 yards, two touchdowns, and ran for the tying score before Brandon Aubrey’s 42 yard field goal as time expired. The Cowboys defense tightened in the second half, holding the Eagles scoreless and securing Dallas’ biggest comeback in franchise history.
Fun fact: Prescott broke Tony Romo’s franchise record for career passing yards during the game, finishing with 34,378.
Buccaneers @ Rams 7-34
The Rams dominated the Bucs jumping out to a 21–0 lead in the first half. Matthew Stafford threw three touchdown passes, including two to Davante Adams, while Cobie Durant added a 50-yard interception return for a score. Baker Mayfield left the game with a shoulder injury, and the Buccaneers never recovered as the Rams extended their winning streak to six games.
Fun fact: Harrison Mevis, the Rams rookie kicker, made his first career NFL field goal in the game.
Panthers @ 49ers 9-20
Christian McCaffrey had 142 scrimmage yards and a touchdown against his former team. Despite Brock Purdy throwing three interceptions in the first half, the 49ers defense held firm and limited Carolina to just 230 total yards. Bryce Young managed one touchdown pass, but the Panthers failed to capitalize on turnovers.
Fun fact: This was McCaffrey’s first game against the Panthers since being traded in 2022, and he led all players in yards from scrimmage.
WEEK 13
Thanksgiving Day - Thursday, November 28th
Packers (7-3-1) @ Lions (7-4) (1pm FOX)
The Green Bay Packers and Detroit Lions have played each other 23 times on Thanksgiving Day, the most frequent matchup in NFL Thanksgiving history. The Detroit Lions have played on Thanksgiving 85 times so far, the most in Thanksgiving history. Their record on this day is 37-46-2. The Packers have played 39 times and their record on this day is 17-20-2. The Packers played annually from 1920-38 on Thanksgiving but haven’t played on this day since 2021. I’m rooting for and picking the Lions to win this game. I also picked them last year as they were having an equally incredible year. They lost. I hope they win this year. -Spoiler: They lost this year too.
Chiefs (6-5) @ Cowboys (5-5-1) (4:30pm CBS)
The Cowboys have played on Thanksgiving 58 times so far, the second most in Thanksgiving history. Their record on this day is 35-22-1. The Kansas City Chiefs have played 11 times on Thanksgiving Day, with an all-time record of 5 wins and 6 losses. I would have picked the Chiefs to win and I would have been wrong.
Bengals (3-8) @ Ravens (6-5) (8:20pm NBC)
The Bengals had only played once on Thanksgiving before this game and they lost that game. The Ravens had only played twice before on Thanksgiving and they won both. I would have picked the Ravens to win this game and I would have been wrong.
Friday, November 28th
Bears (8-3) @ Eagles (8-3) (3pm PRIME VIDEO)
Also, I would have picked the Eagles to win this game and I would have been wrong again, but super ok with it. Fun fact: I wore my Bears sweatshirt in solidarity for this game. I think it worked.
Sunday, November 30th
49ers (8-4) @ Browns (3-8) (1pm CBS)
The weather may be a factor in this game. High winds, cold, and some possible rain and snow. It should be a good game for CMC and that’s really all I need. I’m picking the 49ers to win this game.
Jaguars (7-4) @ Titans (1-10) (1pm CBS)
If Trevor Lawrence can keep the ball in his own players hands and stop throwing interceptions the Jags will win this game, and that’s my pick. The Jags get the W.
Texans (6-5) @ Colts (8-3) (1pm CBS)
The Colts haven’t lost at home yet this season. Something tells me today is the day that changes. Even though the Colts are favorites to win this game I am picking the Texans for the upset.
Saints (2-9) @ Dolphins (4-7) (1pm FOX)
I’m picking the Dolphins to win this game. The Saints continue to crumble and the Dolphins are on a win streak, dare I say.
Falcons (4-7) @ Jets (2-9) (1pm FOX)
With two terrible teams it’s anyone’s game. I’m picking the Falcons to win this one.
Rams (9-2) @ Panthers (6-6) (1pm FOX)
I’m pretty sure this is going to be an ugly game for the Panthers. I’m picking the Rams to win this game and I’m hoping for multiple touchdowns for Rams WR Adams and RB Williams.
Cardinals (3-8) @ Buccaneers (6-5) (1pm CBS)
Wait for it, the Bucs have some injuries. This is not new. Baker Mayfield is going to play through a shoulder injury. I’m not sure he’s throwing to anymore. I’m still picking the Bucs to win this game.
Vikings (4-7) @ Seahawks (8-3) (4:05pm FOX)
I’m picking the Seahawks to win this game. It’s hard to pick against JSN.
Raiders (2-9) @ Chargers (7-4) (4:25pm CBS)
I need the Chargers to have a major bounce back game. I need all the points from Justin Herbert, Keenan Allen, and Oronde Gadsden. Fingers crossed. I’m picking the Chargers to win this game.
Bills (7-4) @ Steelers (6-5) (4:25pm CBS)
I am rooting for and picking the Bills to win this game. Buffalo, you’ve got to get your stuff together. GO BILLS!
Broncos (9-2) @ Commanders (3-8) (8:20pm NBC/Peacock)
Yeah, I’m going to have to pick the Broncos to win this game.
Monday, December 1st
NY Giants (2-10) @ Patriots (10-2) (8:15pm ESPN)
The Giants FINALLY fired Shane Bowen so I’m hopeful the defense will look better. I’ll probably just watch one of the Giants - Patriots Super Bowls because I know I’ll like the outcome there. I’m picking the Patriots to win this game. Go G-Men.
BYES: NONE
GO G-MEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for the edit Eric!
