SUPER BOWL XLVI
THE NEW YORK FOOTBALL GIANTS ARE GOING TO THE SUPER BOWL!!!!!!!!!
I know this is old news now but it’s been great walking around these past two weeks knowing that my team has made it to the Super Bowl for the second time in four years! As you probably already know the Super Bowl will be held in Indianapolis at Lucas Oil Stadium. It’s kinda funny that the first time a Manning will be starting on that field this season is Eli in the Super Bowl.
And now for the Patriots… Blah, blah blah.
Super Bowl rematch. Super Bowl repeat.
I hope you don’t mind I didn’t cover the Pro Bowl. It’s a pointless game and I didn’t really feel there was any point in talking about it. I did catch some of it and I had to scratch my head when I saw Phillip Rivers on the field. I remember saying, “isn’t this the pro bowl? How did Phillip Rivers get here?” and that’s all I have to say about that.
Let’s recap the two games that brought us to the Super Bowl right now.
CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIPS
Baltimore @ New England 20-23
The end of this game made me ill. New England did not win this game rather Baltimore lost it. I honestly didn’t think this game would have been as close as it was. There was too much confusion on the field and Baltimore didn’t play their best game by any means. Maybe it was that obscene growth on Flacco’s face that caused the distraction, I don’t really know. Brady had two interceptions and one rushing touch down. He had no passing TDs which is really rare. I’m still really frustrated with this game. Baltimore you gave this game to the Pats… they only won by default.
New York Giants @ San Francisco 20-17 OT
I usually don’t have nice things to say about Lawrence Tynes but his performance in this game was simply clutch. I also usually gripe about our special teams but I have nothing but praises for them, especially Devon Thomas who recovered two fumbles and ultimately changed the game and brought about the win in San Francisco. But my praises don’t stop there, Eli was ELItie, Manningham was the Man, and CRUUUUUZZZZZZZZZZ was, well, CRUZ! The defense continues to be a force to be reckoned with, and everything continues to click in the right direction for this team.
I watched this game with my Dave and the roles were reversed once again. I was calm cool and collected and Dave was a mess. When the game went into overtime things got really exciting. I just knew they were going to win and said so and Dave kept saying “I hope so”; good times. There was a point during a commercial break where I leaned in to kiss Dave and I heard a voice on tv and my neck snapped back around. The voice was Peyton’s. The kiss ended right there. I was so excited to see Peyton on tv once again I couldn’t even tell you what the commercial was about. So glad I have a very understanding boyfriend. But, I digress.
So the Giants game was AWESOME and we are headed to the Super Bowl again. After the game was over I took a picture of myself doing a victory dance and then I tweeted the picture. A couple of days later I got a message on twitter letting me know that my victory dance picture had made it onto the Giants official web site. I was stoked.
SUPER BOWL XLVI
New York Giants VS New England 6:30pm NBC
Super Bowl 42 was so good they are making a sequel. Hopefully the outcome will be the same and the heroes will once again be the New York Football Giants. Pre-game coverage on ESPN is from 10am-2pm and 12pm till kick-off on NBC. Madonna has the half-time show so this will be a good time go take that much needed bathroom break and re-fill your plate and glass.
This is going to be a great game and the winner will probably be decided in the last 2 minutes of the game. I know the Giants can win this game. I hope they make Brady wish his full time job is just endorsing Uggs.
I will be sporting my new Super Bowl 46 Victor Cruz jersey, (thanks to my super awesome boyfriend who decided to give me my valentines day present early) my NY Giants Victoria’s Secret panties, and NY Giants socks for this special occasion. Dave will be sporting my Super Bowl 42 Eli Manning jersey. We will be drinking out of our NY Giants cups thanks to Dave’s awesome Mom and if you listen really closely Sunday night you will be hearing me say CRRRRUUUUUUUZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!
GO MY FAVORITE SPORTS TEAM! BEAT THE OPPONENTS SOUNDLY! IN THE SCIRMISH!
LET’S GO GMEN!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for the edit Mom!
