Regular Season Week 12

Happy Thanksgiving! I am writing you from Dover DE this week while I’m celebrating this special holiday with my family. I have taken a break from baking pies and holding my nephew (HE’S SOOOOO CUTE) to talk about football.
Week 11 was rough to watch, but at least my picks were better this past week.  Here are the recaps of week 11.

New York Jets @ Denver 13-17
Tebow does it again and the Jets crumble. Ouch.

Cincinnati @ Baltimore 24-31
This was a tight game and I had doubts that the Ravens would come out on top, but somehow they pulled it off.

Jacksonville @ Cleveland 10-14
Holy crap, the Browns won one at home! (no pun intended)

Carolina @ Detroit 35-49
Well Carolina looked good the first half…

Tampa Bay @ Green Bay 26-35
The Packers seem to be unstoppable.

Buffalo @ Miami 8-35
Buffalo is done this season and Miami is no longer in the race for “Suck for Luck”

Oakland @ Minnesota 27-21
It’s nice to see the Raiders bouncing back.

Dallas @ Washington 27-24 OT
Puke. Washington, you let me down.

Arizona  @ San Francisco 7-23
As if there was any doubt that the 49ers wouldn’t win this game.

Seattle @ St. Louis 24-7
I have nothing witty to say about this game. Yay Seattle.

Tennessee @ Atlanta 17-23
Tennessee tried to upset Atlanta but they just ran out of time.

San Diego @ Chicago 20-31
Put a fork in the Chargers ‘cause they’re done. Cutler is also done for the season, which is bad news for the Bears, not to be confused with the Bad News Bears.

Philadelphia @ New York Giants 17-10
I’ve never seen a more pathetic game played by the Giants. I literally felt ill at the end of the game. I don’t want to discuss it because it still leaves a sour taste in my mouth. I don’t know what team was on the field that Sunday night but it wasn’t the Giants I know and love.

Kansas City @ New England 3-34
KC looked good for the first quarter and then fell apart. Big surprise? Not really.

I got 11-14 right in Week 11 picks.  (far better than last week.)

WEEK 12

Green Bay (10-0) @ Detroit (7-3) [Thursday 12:30pm FOX]
On Thanksgiving I pretty much always root for the Lions, and this year will not be any different. I don’t think they’ll pull off the win but crazier things have happened.  I’m picking the Packers to win.

Miami (3-7) @ Dallas (6-4) [Thursday 4:15pm CBS]
I sure do hope that Miami can upset Dallas at home on Thanksgiving. I’d be truly thankful for this. I’m picking Miami

San Francisco (9-1) @ Baltimore (7-3) [Thursday 8:20pm NFL]
If you are not in a turkey coma, and need to watch more football Thursday night and don’t have the NFL Network you can catch the game on www.nfl.com  (just looking out for you die-hard football fans!) I’m taking the 49ers for the win.

Carolina (2-8) @ Indianapolis (0-10) [Sunday 1pm FOX]
As much as I’d like to pick the Colts for the win I’m going to pick Carolina. I’m sure Indi will boost the Panthers’ confidence.  (Though I will say that I gave my nephew his first Colts t-shirt and I can’t wait to see him wear it)

Minnesota (2-8) @ Atlanta (6-4) [Sunday 1pm FOX]
I’ve got to take Atlanta at home.

Cleveland (4-6) @ Cincinnati (6-4) [Sunday 1pm CBS]
Last year I would have picked Cleveland. This year I’m picking Cincinnati for the win.

Tampa Bay (4-6) @ Tennessee (5-5) [Sunday 1pm FOX]
This should be an interesting game. I’m going with the Titans only because they are at home, although that doesn’t seem to matter much this season.

Arizona (3-7) @ St. Louis (2-8) [Sunday 1pm FOX]
I’m going with the Cardinals.

Buffalo (5-5) @ New York Jets (5-5) [Sunday 1pm CBS]
I think a NY team will win. … But seriously, both teams are playing horrible. I think I’m going to pick the Jets for the win but won’t be at all surprised if they blow it.

Houston (7-3) @ Jacksonville (3-7) [Sunday 1pm CBS]
I’m taking Houston.

Chicago (7-3) @ Oakland (6-4) [Sunday 4:05pm FOX]
With Jay gone the Bears may struggle. I’m going to pick Oakland for the win.

Washington (3-7) @ Seattle 4-6 [Sunday 4:05pm FOX]
I’m picking Seattle for the win.

New England (7-3) @ Philadelphia (4-6) [Sunday 4:15pm CBS]
You may want to sit down for this. I actually want New England to kick the snot out of Philly. I’m picking the Pats for this game. (Still not over the Sunday night game last week)

Denver (5-5) @ San Diego (4-6) [Sunday 4:15pm CBS]
My crazy pick of the week, Denver over San Diego.

Pittsburgh (7-3) @ Kansas City (4-6) [Sunday 8:20pm NBC]
KC is really good at blowing it; therefore I’m picking Pittsburgh for the win.

New York Giants (6-4) @ New Orleans (7-3) [MNF 8:30pm ESPN]
I bought my nephew his first Eli jersey yesterday. I hope this helps the GMEN get their game back. They need this win sooooooo bad, as do I. I’m picking the Giants for the win, I just hope they show up this week.

PS there are no more byes for the rest of the season.

Again I hope you have a happy and safe Thanksgiving! GO GIANTS & COLTS!!!!!!!!

The Shenoa Report Regular Season Week 11 '11

The Shenoa Report
November 16, 2011
Regular Season Week 11

Week 10 was a hard week to watch. Of the 16 games that were played, only 6 of the home teams came out on top. I honestly don’t feel like being funny or witty, it was a rough football weekend for me. So I’ll just get right to the recaps.

Oakland @ San Diego 24-17
I’d like to say that I’m surprised that Oakland won and the Chargers blew it but I’m not. The Chargers have lost 4 straight now. They say that the Chargers come alive in November. Maybe they forgot to change their calendars and they are still looking at October?

Jacksonville @ Indianapolis 17-3
So I wore my #18 Manning jersey out Sunday to watch the games and one of the waiters said to me “Good for you still being a Colts fan” I replied “I’m a glutton for punishment” I was able to watch the whole game and wish I hadn’t. I really have nothing else to say about the Colts, though I did catch the Stanford game Saturday night and Andrew Luck didn’t impress me much… Now I know I just watched the last quarter of that game but it didn’t make me very excited to be way in the lead for the “suck for luck” contest.

New Orleans @ Atlanta 26-23 OT
This was the only game this week that went into overtime. And the reason why the Saints won… John Kasay is clutch.

Pittsburgh @ Cincinnati 24-17
The Ginger’s picks are what put the Steelers on top in the end.  Boo

St. Louis @ Cleveland 13-12
Seriously Browns?! This was another home game for the Browns where they couldn’t score a touchdown. One of my Cleveland friend’s fb status’ said “Weird weather in Cleveland... ‘This just reported: After reports of the tornado watch the community is encouraged to take cover at the Cleveland Browns stadium where there is no possibility of a touchdown.’"
TRUE STORY

Buffalo @ Dallas 7-44
I’m pretty sure I’m done “billieving”  The loss wouldn’t have been so bad but it was Dallas..  Come-on man! Tough loss boys. And what’s the deal with giving a football to a Cowboy’s cheerleader. Not classy man…. She didn’t even know what to do with it.

Denver @ Kansas City 17-10
Say what you want about Tim Tebow, but the Broncos record is now 3-1 with him under center. On the other hand KC is spiraling downward again.

Washington @ Miami 9-20
Most of Washington’s players are injured and I’m thinking that the Colts might win won before the Redskins win another. Just sayin.

Arizona @ Philadelphia 21-17
Vick ended the game with no touchdowns, two interceptions, and some broken ribs. It wasn’t a good game for the Eagles and I can’t say I’m at all sad about it. I was actually quite happy with Arizona and their win on Sunday. This was one of the few games that I actually enjoyed the outcome. Maybe the Eagles will be “the dream team” next season… they’ll have all of post season through next preseason to dream about such things.

Houston @ Tampa Bay 37-9
This is probably one of the only games that I wasn’t super surprised with the outcome. Houston is still rolling and has the AFC South all locked up.

Tennessee @ Carolina 30-3
This game surprised me. I thought this would be an easy win but the Titans brought their A-game to Charlotte. They were able to sack Cam 5 times and completely shut down the passing game. This was actually the first time I thought Cam played like a rookie. Poor Panthers.

Baltimore @ Seattle 17-22
This game was almost as shocking as when Seattle beat New Orleans in the playoffs last year. No one saw that coming and I’m pretty sure no one saw Seattle beating the Ravens this game. But it happened. On any given day…

New York Giants  @ San Francisco 20-27
This was a good, close game but a tough loss for the GMEN and all of their fans. Not gonna lie, expletives were flying out of my mouth. Manning’s interceptions killed us along with some bad play calls at the end. This loss stung but our hopes are not crushed. We’ll bounce back … the Giants always do.

Detroit @ Chicago 13-37
This was another shocker for me. Detroit looked like… well the Detroit of the not so distant past, and Chicago played like DA BEARS. Cutler had no TD’s or interceptions but Stafford had four interceptions and only one touchdown.  If I was a punter and I saw Devin Hester on the other end of the field I would probably kick it out of bounds.

New England @ New York Jets 37-16
This doesn’t surprise me. Nothing to report. Just a bad weekend for New York.  So I think I’ll just re-live the Pats last game against the Giants.

Minnesota @ Green Bay 7-45
Well Rodgers threw four TDs and Ponder had one interception. There was no need to watch the game. Green Bay seems to be unstoppable.

I only picked 6 Wins out of 16 games in week 10… like I said it was a tough week.

WEEK 11

New York Jets (5-4) @ Denver (4-5) [Thursday 8:20pm NFL]
I’m going to pick the Jets for the win but I wouldn’t be surprised if Denver pulled it out. With Tebow under center anything is possible.

Cincinnati (6-3) @ Baltimore (6-3) [Sunday 1pm CBS]
Against better judgment I’m going to have to go with Baltimore at home.

Jacksonville  (3-6) @ Cleveland (3-6) [Sunday 1pm CBS]
I’d like to pick the Browns at home but Jacksonville looked pretty good last week against Indi… then again they were playing Indi…  on the other hand its been awhile since the Browns have even scored a touchdown at home. Can I pick a tie? Nah I’m going to pick the Jags.

Carolina (2-7) @ Detroit (6-3) [Sunday 1pm FOX]
Hope both teams bounce back but I’m picking the Lions for the win.

Tampa Bay (4-5) @ Green Bay (9-0) [Sunday 1pm FOX]
I pick Green Bay.

Buffalo (5-4) @ Miami (2-7) [Sunday 1pm CBS]
I’d like to see Buffalo win this one. I may be picking the Bills for the win one last time.

Oakland (5-4) @ Minnesota (2-7) [Sunday 1pm CBS]
I’m taking the Raiders. They’ve had a long week to rest and the Vikings are coming off a short week.

Dallas (5-4) @ Washington (3-6) [Sunday 1pm FOX]
I would LOVE to see the Redskins win this. LOVE LOVE LOVE IT and I hope they do. But my picks sucked last week so I’m going to pick Dallas but hope Washington pulls off a huge win for the Giants!

Arizona (3-6) @ San Francisco (8-1) [Sunday 4:05pm FOX]
I like the 49ers in this game

Seattle (3-6) @ St. Louis (2-7) [Sunday 4:05pm FOX]
It’s hard to say, both teams are really bad but both are coming off of wins this past week.  I’m going to have to go with Seattle for the win.

Tennessee (5-4) @ Atlanta (5-4) [Sunday 4:15pm CBS]
I’m taking Atlanta at home

San Diego (4-5) @ Chicago (6-3) [Sunday 4:15pm CBS]
I’m going with Da Bears

Philadelphia (3-6) @ New York Giants (6-3) [Sunday 8:20pm NBC]
I’ve got to take the Giants, though I must tell you that when I heard that some of my boys were at a nightclub and there were gunshots my heart stopped for a moment…
Don’t worry they weren’t as dumb as Burress and weren’t involved.

Kansas City (4-5) @ New England (6-3) [MNF 8:30pm ESPN]
I’m picking the Pats for the win and no I don’t like it.

The Saints, Steelers, Texans, and Colts have their bye this week. Thank God the Colts can’t lose this week!

GO GMEN!!!!!
thanks for the edit Mom!

The Shenoa Report Regular Season Week 10 '11

The Shenoa Report
November 10, 2011
Regular Season Week 10

First and foremost I would like to take this time to welcome Gideon Robert Landon into the world and more importantly the world of football. I became an aunt on Sunday and my little brother became a dad! He couldn’t have picked a better day to be born, I mean, the Giants beat the Patriots at home making it the best day ever! Gideon was born at 4:09 pm so he was alive for the entire Giants game, he won’t remember it, but I will remind him of that epic day for the rest of his life!
Obviously the big football news this week was the Super Bowl rematch with the Giants beating the Patriots again! With this win, the Giants snapped the following Patriots Streaks: 20 straight regular season wins at home, 18 straight home game wins vs. NFC teams and Tom Brady's 31 straight regular season home victories.
In other football news, unlike week 8 where all but 3 home teams won, week 9 was flipflopped with all but 4 home teams losing! It seems home field advantage didn’t play a big role in week 9.
This week also starts Thursday night football on the NFL Network. For those of you who don’t have this channel they do broadcast the game on NFL.com.
And last but not least, for those of you following the  “Redskins take the NFC East or he’ll shave his head bet” well my friend begged me to change it. (He knows he’s already lost) So being the nice person that I am we have changed the bet to “double or nothing” … The Giants will host the Redskins on December 18th, if the Giants beat the Redskins I get to shave his head right after the game. If the Redskins beat the Giants (highly unlikely) he gets to keep his hair and the bet is over.
Now lets recap wonderful week 9!

New York Jets @ Buffalo 27-11
As my dad would say, well at least one New York team is going to win today. With all the hype of the white out at Ralph Wilson Stadium in Orchard Park and the fans so into their team and this game I really didn’t think that the Jets would be able to pull off an upset that beautiful November day. But they did.  With this loss there is a 3-way-tie for first place in the AFC East with the Jets, Pats, and Bills.

Seattle @ Dallas 13-23
Neither teams looked really good during this game… Dallas just sucked a little less than Seattle to come out with the win.

Cleveland @ Houston 12-30
Just as I predicted the Browns lost to the Texans.  Foster and Tate ultimately helped Houston to their victory.

Atlanta @ Indianapolis 31-7
I am really tired of having to write about another Indi loss. You’d think by having to write about it every week I would almost become dull to the pain… not true. It hurts every time. Their offense is ugly, their special teams is ugly, and their defense is ugly except for that one pick Jerraud Powers had in the second quarter.  It’s like they aren’t even attempting to try anymore. Look guys, Peyton isn’t on the field anymore, SOME ONE HAS GOT TO STEP UP! Every other team in the NFL has won at least one game…Indi is alone and winless.  Colts fans have already started wearing Luck jerseys.

Miami @ Kansas City 31-3
I watched part of this game with a KC fan. He was disgusted with his team and wanted to leave before halftime. I didn’t blame him at all because I wasn’t even watching the Colts game I was watching the Bills play because I couldn’t handle watching my team lose another game. Miami is no longer winless and this made KC look pretty bad. It’s never a good thing when another team comes into their opponent’s house only to crush them. It’s even worse when said visitor team has an extremely worse record than said home team. Poor KC.

Tampa Bay @New Orleans 16-27
The Saints were able to bounce back this week after that embarrassing loss against the Rams. I think it also helped that they were playing a divisional opponent and you know those games always count more. With this win the Saints sit at the top of their division only one game ahead of Atlanta.

San Francisco @ Washington 19-11
This game was mostly comprised of field goals. I said to my Redskins fan on Sunday “Hey, at least your team scored some points this week” (yes, I can be a brat or another b word too) But each Redskin loss helps my Gmen. The 49ers, on the other hand, are looking fierce at 7-1 after this win.

Denver @ Oakland 38-24
I really didn’t see Denver beating Oakland but I’m glad they did. They have decided to make Tebow a week to week decision and after this game he should get the start next week.  A big factor in Denver’s win was Timmy didn’t have any interceptions while Carson Palmer had 3. Even though Palmer also had 3 touchdowns the interceptions killed them.

Cincinnati @ Tennessee 24-17
That Ginger sure can play football and Tennessee continues to struggle.

St. Louis @ Arizona 13-19 OT
The Cardinals came alive… in overtime with a punt returned for a touchdown.
And now the Rams sit at the very bottom of the NFC West.

New York Giants @ New England 24-20
BEST. GAME. OF. THE. SEASON. I was so excited when I found out that they were actually going to air this game on local tv. (Thank you Panthers for your bye week) this was the first time this season that I could watch the Giants from my living room. I was stoked. The Giants defense was phenomenal. And except for Manning’s one interception the offense was on point. Now if only our special teams could get it together … The entire first half was scoreless and this didn’t do much for my blood pressure, but then again I’d rather have no score than be down going into the 3rd quarter. The Giants scored first with about 10 minutes to go in the 3rd quarter. At the end of the 3rd we were up 10-3 and then things got exciting. Much like Super Bowl 42 the lead changed 3 times in the 4th quarter. My roommate came out of her bedroom to watch the last 2 minutes with me. (she is not a football fan at all but after living with me for 4 years she has learned to appreciate it for me) We were both yelling and screaming at the TV. It was awesome! But then with 1:36 left on the clock Brady threw a touch down pass to Rob Gronkowski making it 17-20. The room fell silent. And then Stacie said “Come on Giants you’ve got to win! Shenoa just became an aunt today she needs you to win too!” So the room got loud again. “COME ON MANNING! COME ON BOYS! And when that pass interference was called moving the ball to the one yard line I knew we were going to win the game. When Jake Ballard caught that Pass from Manning a jumped up on my couch and started dancing. I continued dancing for the next 5 minutes. Stacie then said “I wish your team was on tv more often I like watching the games with you!” BEST. DAY. EVER. This game was also entitled America’s Game of the Week I would have to agree with that.

Green Bay @ San Diego 45-38
And in another shootout game Green Bay comes out on top once again. Both Rivers and Rodgers had 4 touchdowns but Rivers also had 3 interceptions and that is ultimately what killed the Chargers and the Packers remain perfect.

Baltimore @ Pittsburgh 23-20
This was a hard-hitting game with a lot of penalties and fines. Baltimore has now beat the Steelers twice this season.  Flacco didn’t have any interceptions, which was key.  Big Ben had an interception, which made me smile.

Chicago @ Philadelphia 30-24
Sorry “Dream Team” DA BEARS seemed to make this game a nightmare for you.
Vick had NO touchdowns and one interception while Cutler had NO interceptions and two touchdowns. TEE HEE HEE.

I picked 9 wins and had 5 losses for week 9.

WEEK 10

Oakland (4-4) @ San Diego (4-4) [Thursday 8:20pm NFL]
This is our Thursday night game and another divisional matchup. Right now there is a 3-way-tie for first place in the AFC West between the Chargers, Chiefs, and Raiders. I’m picking the Chargers for this game.

Jacksonville (2-6) @ Indianapolis (0-9) [Sunday 1pm CBS]
The fact is the Colts haven’t won a game this season.  Maybe this will be my crazy pick on the week. I’m picking the Colts, only because I’m tired of picking against them and being right. Maybe if I pick them this week they’ll win….

New Orleans (6-3) @ Atlanta (5-3) [Sunday 1pm FOX]
I’m picking the Saints only because I think they need the win more even though they are on top of their division. They are only one and a half games over Atlanta and I don’t think they want to jeopardize that.

Pittsburgh (6-3) @ Cincinnati (6-2) [Sunday 1pm CBS]
I’d love to see the Bengals win this game but I know better than to pick them over the Steelers especially after they are coming off a humiliating loss. I’m taking the Steelers this week.

St. Louis (1-7) @ Cleveland (3-5) [Sunday 1pm FOX]
Even though the Browns have a lot of injuries plaguing the team, I am still going to pick them at home.

Buffalo (5-3) @ Dallas (4-4) [Sunday 1pm CBS]
I’ve got to pick Buffalo for the win. I love to see the Cowboys lose… especially at home against a New York team. Come on Buffalo bounce back after last week. I still Billieve!

Denver (3-5) @ Kansas City (4-4) [Sunday 1pm CBS]
Well I don’t think I’ve picked Denver to win yet this year and I know I’ve picked KC to win. So I’m going to change it up a bit and pick Denver for the win this week. Believe it or not this game has playoff implications.

Washington (3-5) @ Miami (1-7) [Sunday 1pm FOX]
Yeah, I’ve got to pick Miami

Arizona (2-6) @ Philadelphia (3-5) [Sunday 1pm FOX]
I mean I’d love to see Arizona stomp Philly in the game of the Angry Birds but I’m going to pick the Eagles for the win only because they are at home… but I hope I’m wrong.

Houston (6-3) @ Tampa Bay (4-4) [Sunday 1pm CBS]
Houston is on a roll so I’ll have to go with them this week.

Tennessee (4-4) @ Carolina (2-6) [Sunday 1pm FOX]
Carolina is coming off their bye and Tennessee is struggling. I’m picking Carolina at home. I just hope they can get it together and pull off the win.

Baltimore (6-2) @ Seattle (2-6) [Sunday 4:05pm CBS]
I’m taking the Ravens in this other game of the Angry Birds.

New York Giants (6-2) @ San Francisco (7-1) [Sunday 4:15pm FOX]
This has the potential to be a very tough but great game. I’m picking the Giants for the win. Prove it on the field boys and stop running your mouth.
GO GMEN!!!!!

Detroit (6-2) @ Chicago (5-3) [Sunday 4:15pm FOX]
I’d like to pick Detroit coming off their bye this week but Chicago had a great game Monday night. With that being said I’m taking the Lions because they are well rested and the Bears have a short week.

New England (5-3) @ New York Jets (5-3) [Sunday 8:20pm NBC]
I’d love to see the Jets win this at home but New England is coming in very angry after two straight losses. Will the Jets make it three? I hope so. But I’m going to pick the Pats just so I can be wrong.

Minnesota (2-6) @ Green Bay (8-0) [MNF 8:30pm ESPN]
I’m taking the Packers.

Thanks for reading!

GO GMEN AND COLTS!!!!

Thanks for the read through and edit Mom!

The Shenoa Report Regular Season Week 9 '11

The Shenoa Report
November 4, 2011
Regular Season Week 9

I was back out this past Sunday watching the games with the guys, and in my opinion, it was a great, but somewhat backwards football weekend.  Of course I was more than stoked to see my GMEN win but I had to scratch my head when I saw St. Louis roll over New Orleans.  The Indi game was so bad that they switched it to the race at the bar, although they kept the Detroit Denver game on, go figure.  And my friend asked if we could change the bet to “if the Giants take the NFC East he’ll shave his head”.  I said “No, and I want to take the first swipe with the razor” Here’s the recap of week 8.

Miami @ New York Giants 17-20
The Giants always make it an intense, sometimes ugly, blood raising, game to watch. This game wasn’t any different. I didn’t have the preconceived notion that the Giants would just roll over Miami because they seem to play to the ability of their opponents. I’m just glad they came out with a win.  Eli had another great game rallying the team in the 4th quarter, with 10 unanswered points and another game without any interceptions. Corey Webster ended the game by halting the Dolphin’s final drive with a wonderful interception. HOORAY GMEN!

Jacksonville @ Houston 14-24
Houston came out with the win, which isn’t really news. At least Jacksonville isn’t dead last in their division, the Colts have that place all wrapped up.

Indianapolis @ Tennessee 10-27
As I mentioned before, this game was so bad that the Taco Mac I was at switched the game to the race. I think that Peyton Manning should be named the MVP of this season. Hear me out. Look at this team with him and look at this team without him. They are 0-8 without him therefore he is obviously the most valuable player of this team. The Titans were able to force turnovers and keep the colts very much in the lead for “suck for luck”

Minnesota @ Carolina 24-21
This was probably the most devastating loss of the season for the Panthers.  Olindo Mare missed a 31-yard field goal with 26 seconds left in the game. Had he made it the game would have gone into overtime and the Panthers might have gotten their 3rd win of the season. But that didn’t happen. The Vikings got their second win of the season and Adrian Peterson had 2 touchdowns. (this guy helps me every week in fantasy) Carolina has a bye next week so hopefully they can leave this loss behind and come back stronger.

New Orleans @ St. Louis 21-31
The Rams (or the bumblebees as I called them growing up) are no longer winless! I couldn’t believe it.  But as the saying goes “On any given day any given team can beat another given team”. The St. Louis Cardinals did just win the World Series and I’d like to think that that helped the Rams win their game too.

Arizona @ Baltimore 27-30
Going into the half I thought that Arizona might just win this game, but Ray Rice came alive in the second half scoring three touchdowns and the Ravens won it with a field goal in the final minute of the game.

Detroit @ Denver 45-10
This game was even more embarrassing than the Colts game. Detroit sacked Tebow 7 times, reminding him that this is the NFL and not Gator football.  The biggest problem I had during this game came after Stephen Tulloch sacked Tim Tebow and then got down on one knee doing the “Tebow”. I don’t like the mocking of prayer. That is all. Could Denver be looking for another starting QB? After this loss it’s quite possible.

Washington @ Buffalo 0-23
Watching this game with a Redskins fan was very entertaining, although I did here “Shut up Shenoa” a lot.  The Bills defense had 9 sacks and completely shut out the Redskins. Buffalo also won its first game playing in Toronto since they started making their appearance there in 2008.  After this Redskins loss I turned to my friend and said, “I don’t want just the first swipe I want to shave the whole thing”

New England @ Pittsburgh 17-25
I’m never sad when New England loses I just hope they don’t shake off this loss for awhile.  Brady did have two touchdowns but also had a costly sack which ended with a safety and the game.  Roethlisberger also had two touchdowns and an interception. When asked who I was pulling for in this game I quickly replied “The Defense”

Cleveland @ San Francisco 10-20
Cleveland really didn’t have a chance with a 49ers team that is on fire this year. They haven’t played this good since the ‘90’s so I guess it’s time. Colt McCoy is still hanging in there for the Browns but the 49ers were just over powering on both sides of the ball.

Cincinnati @ Seattle 34-12
Can I just say Andy Dalton, the Bengals QB, is the reddest redhead I’ve EVER seen. He kind of freaks me out a little bit. Maybe that’s why he fits in so well with the Bengals, if they switched to just orange helmets he wouldn’t even have to wear one.  Ginger, or not he’s doing something right because the Bengals have already won more this season than they did last season.

Dallas @ Philadelphia 7-34
The question is, is Philly really bouncing back from their “dream team nightmare” or are the Cowboys really just that bad? I’m hoping it’s the latter of the two. It was really great seeing Dallas crumble, but I wasn’t so much of a fan of seeing Philly win.  At least both teams are still two games behind the Giants so I’ll focus on that for now.

San Diego @ Kansas City 20-23 OT
My crazy pick of the week came true.  Phillip Rivers puts the loss on his shoulders because he fumbled the snap late in the fourth quarter in the red zone. The game then went into overtime where Ryan Succop kicked the game wining field goal for the Chiefs. Interestingly enough, Ryan Succop was Mr. Irrevlevant (the last pick in the 2009 NFL Draft) but he definitely wasn’t irrelevant at the end of this game.

10 W 3 L in my picks for week 8

WEEK 9
We’re halfway through the season. It always goes by too fast.

New York Jets (4-3) @ Buffalo (5-2) [Sunday 1pm CBS]
This is a divisional game in which Buffalo leads the division for the first time in a LONG time. It’s a must win for the Jets but I like the Bills momentum. I’m picking the Bills for the win.

Seattle (2-5) @ Dallas (3-4) [Sunday 1pm FOX]
You know I’d like nothing more than to see Seattle upset the Cowboys just like they upset my Giants (it’s still painful to talk about) but I’m not going to place bets on this game. My heart says Seattle but I’m picking the Cowboys for the win.

Cleveland (3-4) @ Houston (5-3) [Sunday 1pm CBS]
It’s not looking real good for the Browns this week. I’m picking Houston for the win.

Atlanta (4-3) @ Indianapolis (0-8) [Sunday 1pm FOX]
Let me tell you a story. When I was in 11th grade I was watching football with my boyfriend. The Colts were playing and they were HORRIBLE! (Their record that year was 3-13) I remember turning to my boyfriend and saying, “I think I’m going to be a Colts fan because I don’t think they have any” He laughed at me, though I don’t know why because he was a Lions fan, and sarcastically said “Oh ok”
Well the next year the Colts drafted Peyton Manning and it’s been a dream ever since, until now. And this season I often look back and wonder what made me pick the Colts that night. It’s been a very hard season and I just want the team to pull together without Peyton and win a freaking game. But I don’t think it’s going to happen this week. I’m picking Atlanta.

Miami (0-7) @ Kansas City (4-3) [Sunday 1pm CBS]
Miami is bound to win one this year right? I’d like to say its this week but I don’t think so. I’m picking KC.

Tampa Bay (4-3) @New Orleans (5-3) [Sunday 1pm FOX]
I’ve got to go with the Saints because they desperately need to bounce back from last weeks loss.

San Francisco (6-1) @ Washington (3-4) [Sunday 1pm FOX]
I’m going with the 49ers over the Redskins. Now if only the Eagles, and Cowboys could lose this weekend too.

Denver (2-5) @ Oakland (4-3) [Sunday 4:05pm CBS]
I hope the Broncos can come back from their humiliating loss and beat the Raiders this Sunday, although I’m picking Oakland for the win.

Cincinnati (5-2) @ Tennessee (4-3) [Sunday 4:05pm CBS]
I’m going with the Bengals this week. I’m starting to really dislike Cortland Finnegan, he’s obnoxious and I hope the Bengals offense runs right over him. Cedric Benson is coming back from his one game suspension and Chris Johnson just hasn’t showed anything from Tennessee this year. I mean, right now, Cam Newton has more rushing yards AND rushing touchdowns than Chris Johnson. Just sayin

St. Louis (1-6) @ Arizona (1-6) [Sunday 4:15pm FOX]
This game will decide the very last team in the NFC West. After the Rams win last week I have to pick them for the win this week.

New York Giants (5-2) @ New England (5-2) [Sunday 4:15pm FOX]
In my opinion this is the BIGGEST game of the weekend. I am nervous and excited about it. The last time these two teams met was Super Bowl XLII (probably one of the best nights of my life) I still get goosebumps all over my body when I watch the highlights of that game especially the miracle play where Manning escaped a sack and completed the pass to David Tyree who caught it on his helmet.
But I’m not going to live in the past. This Sunday is a new game and the Giants are once again the underdogs. I’m going with the GMEN!!!!!!

Green Bay (7-0) @ San Diego (4-3) [Sunday 4:15pm FOX]
I think that San Diego will have a better game this week against Green Bay but it won’t be enough for the win. I’m picking the Packers

Baltimore (5-2) @ Pittsburgh (6-2) [Sunday 8:20pm NBC]
These guys have already met once this season and Baltimore humiliated the Steelers on that opening weekend. I think things will be a little different this time around. I hope that Baltimore can pull out the win but I’m going to have to pick the Steelers at home. I hope I’m wrong.

Chicago (4-3) @ Philadelphia (3-4) [MNF 8:30pm ESPN]
I don’t believe the hype following the Eagles. My crazy pick of the week is taking Chicago over Philly. I hope DA BEARS don’t let me down.

Byes: Carolina, Detroit, Jacksonville, Minnesota

Thanks for the edit Mom!

GO GMEN AND COLTS!!!!!
